Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going and makes me laugh.
I of it.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the Morning on Star one on
five point seven. Oh, good morning, Smitty, Hey, good morning.
Welcome into your Tuesday. Temps covering in the mid twenties
round West Michigan right now, but not gonna get those
warmer as a matter of fact, can get a few
degrees cooler as this morning moves on. Today. Tomorrow though, Schmitty,
they're talking about some dicey weather tomorrow night into Thursday.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I know, yeah, look.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
At another winter storm. I'm sure my kids will be
in their pj's with their spoons upside down. But other
than that, yesterday, next warm one, though, do you get
out and enjoy yourself?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
No, gosh, I wish I was cooler, you guys, but
these hours I get home a nap, you just feels
so bad about it too. Like my kids come home
and they're like, oh, we had so much fun on
the playground. I'm looking outside, like, oh, I thought it
was super gloomy yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
It was a little bit gloomy.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
It was.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
That's just so warm, like that is.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
North of the city. Man, oh man, it was like
gray and it spit the whole day. I didn't feel
bad about getting under my comforter.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I asked if you enjoyed yourself and you I.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Yes, Yes, that did movies, music and all the gossip
in one place.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, that's very rare that we hear Sandra Bullock talk
about her family. But she has become so concerned by
scams on the internet she has issued a public statement
and says this has a lot to do with her
family's own safety. The Oscar winner, expressing her worries for
not just her family, but innocent people being targeted by
social media scams. In a statement to People magazine, she says,

(01:50):
my family's safety, as well as the innocent people being
taken advantage of, is my deep concern. There will be
a time when I will comment more, but for now
our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter. She
goes on to say, please be aware, I do not
participate in any form of social media. Any accounts pretending
to be me or anyone associated with me are fake

(02:12):
accounts and have been created for financial gain or to
exploit people around me. So we're not too sure about
details on this, but Sandra's younger sister did reveal that
there were so many people pretending to be Sandra on
Facebook that they have now found hundreds and thousands of
dollars that have been scammed from these people. In fact,

(02:33):
Sandra says she spends multiple times a day reporting fake accounts,
dealing with weird and scary emails that are now making
it to both her business and home accounts.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
This is really weird stuff. Someone most remming this is
it like the brad Pit thing, that fake brad Pit
impersonators swindling somebody for hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's
so strange to me when you think of these A
list celebrities and being able to convince people to just
give them money.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
It sounds simp I'm of bread, only worse because this
sounds like multiple, multiple, multiple victims. So we'll hear more
from Sandra, I'm sure. Oh boy, Brian Austin Green once
again and getting in the middle of a machine gun
Kelly and Megan Fox's drama, remember the two who are
now no longer together, even though Megan Fox is due
to give birth to their child anytime. Things have gotten

(03:23):
very icy the last time I reported on this, the
two were not even speaking. Megan wasn't sure if MGK
was even going to be at the birth of their child. Well,
apparentlygk's not super thrilled about that. He posted to his
Instagram stories the other day calling out the narrative over
his relationship with Megan Fox and that's when Brian Austin Green,

(03:43):
who is Megan's ex husband, then screenshot it and put
it on his story, saying, bro, just be honest for
once in your life. Stop caring so much about how
you're perceived that you'll try and drag other people. Just
stop with it. Brian has not been fan of his
for quite a while. Back in December, he was very
honest about the two splitting up, being like this dude

(04:05):
needs to grow up, take some responsibility, and be a man. Brian,
by the way, shares three kids with Megan. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I was gonna say, can't both of Megan Fox's baby
daddy's get along, Smitty, can't we see that happen?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
I got it all right. Finally, Travis Kelsey, I guess
if you believe the Swifty Sluts was maybe paying homage
to his girlfriend, So of course Taylor was at the
Grammys Sunday Night, but Travis was busy touching down in
New Orleans for Super Bowl Week. That's when fans pointed
out that they think he literally dressed like a Grammy.

(04:39):
He was in an all gold track suit, a seeming
nod to these six trophies that Swift was nominated for
Sunday Night. Remember she did not win a single one.
They also point out that the brand name on his
track jacket was Palm Angels, which they think was maybe
a hat tip to the city of Angels, where the
award show was going down. I don't know, it seems

(04:59):
like of a stretch, but they do point out that
every other Chiefs player landed in either red, black or
a neutral color, so they think that this was I
don't know if Travis dressing like a Grammy.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
You know what I feel like, Travis Kelsey's fashion sense
is so oddbald Dad at this moment, like he would likenss.
He would put literal grabby trophies on a suit if
you was trying to go for something like that.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
All right, you can see the picture. All of you
are celebscoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Sometimes because I get a good feeling.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Well right, let's dive into this Tuesday with some positivity.
Shall we feeling good? On Starbono five points seven. It's
Mack and Schmidty. And you know this happened right here
in Michigan, in Saginaw, but it has gone national as
the story is gone viral of a heartwarming display of
kindness from a Michigan detective who just went above and
beyond to help a complete stranger who had just lost

(05:54):
his only means of transportation. Just last week, a Saginaw
resident left without a bike was stolen, and the middle
aged man not only lost his recreational vehicle, but it
was his only means to and from work. Well. Detective
Albert Priestley with the Sagonaw Police Department was assigned to
the case, and that's when things took a turn, because

(06:16):
a photo of that man smiling next to a new
bicycle has gone viral after the Sagondew Police Department shared
the story and wrote this, this is the smile on
the face of an individual has rediscovered his joy. He's
smiling again because he's received a new bike. Last week,
his bike was stolen, leaving him without transportation. Detective Priestley

(06:37):
was assigned to investigate the case, but unfortunately, he was
unable to uncover any leads. It's well known that Detective
Priestly possesses a generous spirit and is renowned for his empathy.
Detective Priestley generously purchased a new bike for him using
his own funds, restoring the man's happiness. Bravo Detective Priestly.

(06:58):
But pretty cool that story has blown up, so hopefully
giving all that recognition he deserves.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
R So.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
I know, maybe not a lot of us are super
excited about the Chiefs and Eagles for Super Bowl Sunday,
but what the Eagles just did for one fan can
definitely be applauded. So the Philadelphia Eagles gifted Ryan Quickly
surprise tickets to the Super Bowl. Quickly is a former
Princeton football player who was seriously injured in that New

(07:25):
Year's Day attack in New Orleans. Unfortunately, his best friend,
Martin Beck was killed. Martin, known as Tiger, was a
massive Eagles fan. They went to every game and always
dreamed about going to a Super Bowl together. Well, Eagles
defensive end Brandon Graham actually invited Ryan to the practice facility.

(07:46):
Ryan had no idea what he was about to get.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
Tigers like biggest you know, his biggest fan. You know,
as we went to every home game last year, all year,
after every win, which is obviously fifteen of them. I
told him, you know, you know, if we make it,
I'm promiseful, I'm gonna take you to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
So I mean, I love him nothing.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
More than them, you know, to still take him.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
You know, he's a.

Speaker 6 (08:07):
Specialty, bro, if you all want to love them.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Oh, there we go, Let's go, baby, let's go.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Well more.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Oh, it was an incredible moment where he said, I
know that he's with me here right now. I know
he's going to be at this game with me. And
then Tiger's sister Jinny had this to say, and just.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
Like two, the gift from you guys, for Ryan and
for family.

Speaker 8 (08:29):
We going to rewrite this so soon, Bro, such a negative,
horrible memory.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
To such a really beautiful and cool memory.

Speaker 8 (08:38):
And well, you guys stepped on brus so truly special world.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
It's amazing. Brian said, crutches weren't gonna stop him. He'll
see the Eagles at.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
The super Bowl. Well, now that you just said that,
Brandon Graham, by the Way Schmidt. He for the Eagles,
Michigan Yeah, and Detroit Native by the way too. So
maybe there's a rooting interest feeling good. Kevin at you
a couple of times a day, always here to provide
a little positivity. Let's do it again this morning at nine.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Mac and Schmidt.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
He's feeling good. Open your day with positivity powered by
Overhead door company of Grand Rapids on Star one oh
five point seven.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
It's the celebrities Goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Well the drama it ends with us. Back in court
yesterday as attorneys for both Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively
had their chance to speak, with Justin's attorney, Brian Freeman
saying that he is financially devastated by these rumors. Friedman
telling a Manhattan US District judge that both Justin and

(09:40):
Wayfarer Studios, along with their co founders, have been devastated
financially and emotionally. Friedman says, not to sound like a
four year old fighting a four year old with they
started it, but in these kinds of cases, once someone
says something, it becomes fact. There is just no way
to fight against it. He said that there have been
so many shoes and so many rumors that Wayfarer Studios

(10:03):
and associates have been exiled from polite society and have
suffered damages totally hundreds of millions of dollars since this
first complaint came out. He points to at least three jobs,
which equal millions of dollars justin himself have lost out
on this.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It isn't going to end any time soon either. I
got it'll be interesting to see how much he can
he work anytime soon, you can.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
It might end soon. So listen in the next scoop
because I'll tell you what the judge had to say
that could mean the trial is getting moved up. Taylor
Swift has driven fans wild, as many think that a
massive country legend could be on Taylor's next album. So
here's the deal. You know, Taylor gave the big Best

(10:50):
Country Album presentation at the Grammys. Take a listen to
what Swifties think they caught.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
It's an honor that has gone to great artists who
I admire so much, like the Chicks Cash, Loretta Lynn,
George Straight, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Alison Krause and Shania Dwain.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
So she took a deep breath, she gave a big
wink to the audience, and they think Shania Twain is
going to be collaborating with Taylor Swift. So the Swifties said, listen,
here's our theory. They're hoping that on the upcoming Taylor's
version re recording of her debut self titled album, She's
gonna have a whole lot of woman on that track list.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
And that would be cool. I thought it was j
Taylor just given an homage to the one and only
Shania Twains.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
It's never Taylor just giving an omama. Can we agree
on that? Yeah? Finally, this story has everybody talking this morning.
If you are a Criminal Minds fan like myself, you
know Pajett Brewster aka agent Emily Prentiss, who apparently broke
her elbow while visiting Grand Rapids. So she posted a
photo to x back on Friday showing her arm in

(11:58):
a sling, and then a couple days later she posted
that she'd actually slipped on ice in Brand Rapids she
fractured her elbow and did shout out the great team
at Corwell Help for giving her some initial treatment, telling
fans she is headed back for surgery in LA. Now
we're not sure exactly why she was here, but Brewster's

(12:20):
husband does have ties to West Michigan, so I think
she's actually here a lot more than we realized.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
That's one of those West Michigan souvenirs nobody hopes to
get you. Well.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
The comments weren't very kind. They were like, oh, I forgot,
you're gonna sue Winter. All of your celebscoop at West Michigan.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Start up gently, Zibbia, Schmidti, star Wano, Fine Points. Yeah,
I mean, good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmidti
and you're almost wheels up on a big family adventure. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
I mean, I don't want to rub it in, but
I'm looking at sunshine and low eighties. So the next
like five days, every single day, I want to ask,
every single day's paradise. The coolest we're going to see
is tomorrow, and in the high is only seventy nine,
not going So we're really really excited because we've never
done this before. We are taking a family vacation with
the kids on a plane. My wonderful father in law

(13:05):
surprised us for Christmas by buying us flights. So my
brother and sister in law are coming with us, and
we're flying down to Florida and we're gonna go stay
with them, free place to stay. They've got their own
personal pool and hot hub, and it's just it's gonna
be just a low key, awesome time to visit, hang out.
But the biggest part of this Christmas gift, more than
I think, was flying because my kids have never been

(13:27):
on an airplane, and honestly, it was definitely more Chris
and I, like, nothing sounds like more of a nightmare
to me than traveling with babies, and we just wanted
them to get to a point where I wasn't gonna
stress about everyone on the plane going, oh cool, I've
got a baby on the plane. Awesome. I didn't want
to have to stress about all this stuff you'd have

(13:47):
to bring, Like right now, really, the only things we
have to worry about are the car seats. Put your
check for free, and it's all set. So I would
love tips on a first flight with kids. Because I
posted about this on my Instagram and I got some
really awesome feedback and a lot of it I've thought,
right like, I've got the bag packed with books and

(14:09):
coloring books, activity books, tablet, headphones. It's only like maybe
a three and a half hour flight. We're flying right
out of Grand Rapids, which is amazing. We're going to
be at the Ford, which is perfect. And I was
thinking the depart times are also really great. A lot
of people pointed out, make sure you're thinking of when
you've scheduled departure, Like your kids aren't going to be

(14:32):
used to getting up at four o'clock in the morning
to like make a six o'clock flight. Right, It's amazing.
We're flying out at ten. I've never I've never flown
that late in my entire life. I'm like a five
am girlly.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
I'm like, doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
I've done Red Eyes, I've done it all, but I've
never flown that lace, So that should be perfect. We're
going to have like lots of time to get there
and explore the airports. They're super excited about going to
an airport. They've just really built this up in their head.
But then there were some other really awesome tips that
I didn't even think about. They were said, schedule wisely,
but also bring a surprise, So pack a surprise like

(15:11):
a new toy, a new game, something they don't know about,
they've never seen before, and then unwrap it on the plane.
And one of my friends was like, oh my gosh,
that kept my kid entertained for like coop hours because
he'd never seen or played with it before.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
That is super smart.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Great tip. Here's what I really need help with, though,
because I feel like we've planned everything out. We've got clothes,
we've got a checked bag, we're all set, we'll get snacks.
How do you help your kids with ear pressure?

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Thank you? I was waiting. I was hoping you weren't
going to steal my thunder because it's if it was
any of my friends, I would want you to know.
Bring gum with you for Sophia, bring a passive.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Thumb or anything. So I can't do that. I don't
trust that. They don't know how to do it. They
don't know how to do it, they don't know what
it is. They don't probably like it.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
What about by ants? Is there like a sucker or
does Sofia ever use a pacifier?

Speaker 1 (16:04):
No?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Like even a sippy bottle. A sippy bottle works, something
to get that motion moving with your Joe.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
I'm just teaching them.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
They that's tough.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I yawned. I don't chew gum. I don't do any
of that. I don't like gum, I yawned. But trying
to explain to a six year old and a three
almost four year old, what in your ear popping is
gonna feel like? I would really love calls about a
good way that you've figured out how to do that.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
It's not gum. I'm I'm baffled by it.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
It's not gone yeah, it's nope, nope. They don't do gom.
We've never done them. They don't really love the texture
or look of it. So it's not gum. We need
something else. Takes one, sakes four five eight, one oh
five seven. If you've got a great hack for flying
with kids. It's our very first time with the kids
on a plane. I would really love to hear from you.
We fly out tomorrow morning, so I'm taking all the
recommendations I.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Could get so salty.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
I feel like this is also a good PSA to
anybody that's got a bougie washer and dry which is
very new, very new to us. We I didn't know
this was a thing, and it really really messed me
up this morning because you'll notice I'm kind of a
hodgepodge of clothes today. So I was so ahead of
schedule yesterday, and I thought, I'm gonna do all of
my laundry that way. As soon as I get home

(17:16):
from the shows and get myself packed and get the
kids packed, everybody's good to go. We won't be rushed
tomorrow morning. So I put my clothes in last night,
and I said, perfect because I was getting here extra
early this morning so I can get myself up, get
them dried. I love coming into work and warm pants
and then wake up this morning and go to dry
it and the load is not done, and on the

(17:37):
screen it reads, please redistribute clothes and press start. I've
never seen that before, So now all I mean, like
every article of my clothing. Yes, I know you're gonna
say you overloaded your relishing machine. While I do it
every week, and this is the first time it's been
a problem. I everything I own is soaking wed in

(17:58):
this thing. So I like, open the lil and redistribute.
It was like not evenly put in or something. Yeah,
and pressed star, and I said, fifty nine minutes left
on my cycle. So I have leggings from college on
a shirt I found from treetops shout out to you,
and then I put a scarf on so I wouldn't
look as messy as I do.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
Hey, that's better than the desperation where you slip on
the slightly damp jean. Still I would ever warm jeans
are the best damn jeans.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
I'd rather go pantsless, and I will die on that hill.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
So Stalky, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Well once again. Justin Beldoni is claiming this as a
legal win for him, while Blake Lively's lawyers are claiming
it a legal win for her. The first court hearing
on the It Ends with Us beef was went down
in court yesterday, ending with a half a gag order
for Justin's lawyer, so both the legal teams went before

(19:01):
a judge in New York for the first time since
Blake filed that sexual harassment lawsuit against her director and
co star Justin, who then, of course, is countersuing her.
Blake has been trying to get Justin's attorney to stop
talking about the case in the media, and now Friedman
Justin's attorney is claiming, listen, this is exactly what Blake's
people are doing. He talked about the New York Times article.

(19:24):
He said, she continues to come out with things without
giving us any time to respond. Meanwhile, Blake's lawyers are
pointing to that website I told you about that Justin's
team posted over the weekend with text messages and emails
and a lot of receipts about what he says went down.
The judge said, all right, enough. He's requiring both sides
to abide by the New York Rules of Professional Conduct,

(19:45):
which prevents lawyers from making statements with a quote substantial
likelihood they could taint a jury. The rules afford attorneys
the opportunity to speak with the media to protect their clients,
at least from negative publicity. Lawyers consider this a win.
Baldoni's attorney says he's cool with the rules for now
and also considers that a win. This is very interesting

(20:07):
because the judge also said if they cannot seem to
follow these rules, he will move that trial date up.
Right now, We've still got what was it, March sixth
of next year before this thing is supposed to hit trial.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Honestly, what can either of these two say that you
couldn't apply that rule to I mean, you know, we
worked together, things do Things didn't go so well that
nobody's saying that it's salacious. Accusation after accusation, legal stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Well, Travis Kelsey has headed to another Super Bowl. He
is pretty bummed that his brother Jason will not be there.
Of course, this is the big Super Bowl press week
ahead of Sunday's game, and yesterday the Kansas City chiefs
tight End spoke with People magazine asking that if he'd
be really, really sad that he didn't have his bro
with him, he said, of course. He said, I'll never

(20:56):
forget obviously being so close to him retire that I
was trying to savor every moment of us playing in
that game last year. I just wish I would have
played another year with him. He's very content where he
is in life right now, though I'm happy to help.
It's allowed his brother to focus on other things that
are important to him, he tells people. Being around his
girls a lot more has been a huge game changer,

(21:19):
and of course they are expecting daughter number four soon.
He said, I'll go out there try to represent the
family as best I can. But talking about retirement rumors
for Travis, he's shutting them down and saying, nope, he's
never felt better.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
I wonder who Jason's rooting for lifelong Eagle go into
the Hall of Fame? Is it Eagle's root?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
He said, He's like, God, I've gotta be He's like,
I love my brother. I'm also always going to be
an Eagle. So I just enjoy being able to watch
both sides go at it. Finally, this is so exciting
because I was a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan.
Hulu has almost finalized a pilot order for a ray

(21:58):
boots of the popular nineties show, and it will feature
the return of Sarah Michelle Geller. This is supposed to
be so incredible, so Sarah is actually pretty excited about this.
She was on The Drew Barrymore Show just a couple
months ago, saying, I always used to say no to
the idea of a reboot because it's in its bubble
and it's just so perfect the way that it was.

(22:20):
But watching things like Sex in the City and seeing Dexter,
which she's been working on, I realized there are ways
to do it that definitely gets your mind thinking I
could do that, and she says now more than ever.
Apparently a bunch of big names are going to be
a part of this. We just don't know when it's
going to be coming to Hulu.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
I was ever into Buffy, but I was always amazed
by the number of people that were just straight up
obsessed with Well.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Buffy's so good. It was like the first like female
buck Kicker on television. I've got some more details for
you with your scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Five points seven. It's Vacum spinning this time too. Battle
Battle of This Sex is looking to get you into
Disney on ice.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Oh, it's so big, it's o pish. Opening Thursday for
Into the Magic goes through Sunday at Van Adel. We
just need today's number one answer. One hundred men surveyed.
Name something people store in the garage and we're not
talking cars.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Okay, so in the garage not cars, Well, all of
the junk that my kids have accumulated that I can't
fit in my basement. That's basically where it's I mean, if.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
You're a true Midwesterner, drinks, because everybody knows in the wintertime,
we get that extra freezer out there. Six one, six,
four five eight, one oh five seven caller seven, give
us that number one answer. One hundred men surveyed name
something people store in the garage, and you could be
headed to Disney on Ice.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Sh good morning star. Who's this? Hi, Alicia? Where are
you coming from today?

Speaker 5 (23:44):
Absolutely, I'm calling from grand Reford, you.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Said, Felicia. Yeah, all right, bye, Felicia. I'm just I've
never heard that before. I'm sure you haven't. Definitely not
every time you leave a room, but that'd be it said.
Let's hopefully send you to Disney on Ice. You just
got to give me the top answer, Felicia. When a
hundred men were asked to name something besides cars that

(24:09):
most people store in the garage, what do you think
their top answer was there.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Felicia, I'm going to guess tool.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
You're going tools? Yeah, you know, I was leaning towards bikes,
just because that's where ours are always parked. It seems like,
and I'm not the handiest of people, but at the
same time, I got a whole bunch of tools in
my garage too. Tools is the top answer?

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Where to go? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Heck yes, you are bringing the kiddos to Disney on Ice. Congratulations,
Thank you so much. You are so welcome. We're not
done yet. We want to get your family into That's
why we're doubling the Disney all this week. Another chance
comes for you tomorrow at seven thirty and again at
eight fifteen here on Star Bye Felicia, Bye, see it
works that time. Good morning to you. It's Mack and

(24:58):
Schmidty and I want to ask you what it was
something your kids were just blown away by when they
found out you did before they were born, before they.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Could, you know, right before them. It's just absolutely wild,
right yeah, Like.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
That's really what it comes down to is they don't
recognize you as a human being that had your own
life and experiences. They just assume their lives start, or
your life started when they were born.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
That's all you've done. So over the weekend, we were
all sitting around in the living room in my house
and my wife perks up and goes, hey, guess what.
Guess what happened eight years ago today? He said, I
don't know, and she goes We filmed for bar Rescue
and it was the opening. I got to be one
of the undercover patrons on an episode of Bar Rescue

(25:40):
that we filled with Las Vegas all the way back
in like January of twenty seventeen, and you know, it
was kind of cool. I mean, it's a national show.
People are obsessed with it. You can still watch the episodes.
But my kids have never heard about that, Like it's
not like we bring it up or talked about it,
and so immediately they're like, what's that. We're like, well,
it was this television show that was on for like

(26:00):
I don't know, twelve seasons, fifteen seasons, something crazy like that.
But yeah, I got to be a part of it.
And immediately it was like, stop what you're doing. We
have to watch this.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Find it on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
So it's on Paramount Plus if you're curious. It's an
episode called Mother Doesn't Know Best and it's filmed in
Las Vegas, season five, episode twenty four, if you care.
But they went through it and like, it was so
funny to me because as they're watching me and they're like,
this was on TV all over the country, said yes,
and my daughter's face just buries into her hands on us.

(26:31):
I'm like, how could I embarrass you? Eight years ago?

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Like I'm actually surprised, like it, you wouldn't have understood that.
They wouldn't have understood TV across the country. Yeah, it
would have been like, Yeah, I mean, we can see
a lot of things.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
On the Internet, but is there something that you found
out about your parents from earlier in life that just
blew you away? Because my dad, I wasn't deep into
my thirties when I found out that my father was
actually engaged before he went to Vietnam to a woman
that was not my mother. Oh, that's some tea that
was I had no idea life, And sometimes that's what
it is, like, crazy things that come back in are Yeah,

(27:05):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
I gotta tell you it's all Chris, because I'm young
enough that Facebook started when we were only supposed to
be in college. So when you look back on my Facebook,
there's quite a few things still buried there from our
college years that will occasionally come up in a little
photospry on spiral. And my kids are absolutely blown away
that Chris's hair was that big. They've never they've never

(27:27):
seen him like that because he started cutting it. And
he will see pictures specifically of a certain party that
he threw at Hillcrest where it was very early on
in our relationship with Bill Goes. Oh my gosh, Dad,
you went everywhere like that. It's gonna blow your mind
even more, buddy. That's how Dad landed me. I loved
his afro.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
What was the thing from your past that blew your
kids away? Joined us on Facebook and Instagram at West Michigan.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Star sometime because I get a good bee.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
They're gonna make it a little bit better. Right now,
feeling good on starting five point seven months.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
I mean, we've got to shout out this incredible eight
year old from Royal Oak and his love of art
slime now spreading to some big smiles on the faces
of Corwell Health's Children's Hospital. Eight year old Yanick was
unfortunately one of those playing at the splash Pad in
Rochester Hills seven months ago, where a gunman opened fire.

(28:26):
He was there spending time with his family while his
mom and four year old brother Yulin, were also shot.
Yanick his name, lost his vision because of the incident,
but his unshakable confidence, his happiness and his fart slime
brought back the good times. In fact, first time Nana

(28:48):
brought him the fart slime, he figured oh, they're kids
might like this, Cheryl.

Speaker 8 (28:53):
When I woke up in the hospital, Nana gave me
a slime and I started playing with it, and I started.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
His Mom says that's the first time they had seen
a laugh in weeks, and she realized that Yanick was
going to be their way to all come out of
rock bottom.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Yanick told me, you know, mommy, don't be too sad
about it, because I was grieving a lot for his eyesight.
And he was the one who brought me out of this,
and he was the one who told me to let
go because he said, don't be too sad. I'm still
having fun, I'm still myself, We're still all here.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Amanda Lefkoff is the child life specialist that worked with Yanick,
and she tells ABC seven it was just so contagious.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Even though he was going through such a hard thing,
he brought laughter, and he brought smiles to every nurse
and every doctor and every surgeon that walked into his.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Room and took care of him, and it just made
you want to keep going back.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
He brought a lot more than just that contagious smile.
He just dropped off twenty four hundred tubs of farts
lime so that all the kids at the children's hospital
would be set.

Speaker 8 (29:57):
Jim fight with an a fanwork or squishe. I just
want to put a style on every kid's face.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Eight years old and Yanick, we just love you twenty
four hundred.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Can you imagine the soundtrack that will be the rooms
in that hospital. I mean it is gonna haen.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
It was like the happiest noise I can imagine.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
That's awesome, all right, Smiddy. It was the second time
there was a charm for a small town Michigan woman
who was on NBC's The Voice just last night. Nineteen
year old Iris Herrera from Newego, just north of gr Here,
auditioned actually last season on The Voice. She sang Gypsy
by Fleetwood Mac, but did not get a single chair

(30:38):
to turn around for. She said this year before her performance,
I wasn't authentic and original to me. After going home,
I did things to improve trying to find my sound.
I got a whole new vibe and the sound specific
to me. And that is when she started her performance
and wowed the judges last night.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Yes, guys too, am joh.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Wow. Yeah, that was her performing. Of course you are
my son Shane by the Oakridge Boys or the Pine
Ridge Boys. Excuse me, but she uh got John Legend
to turn around. She got mister Michael Bubla to turn around,
and Kelsey Balerini, who said, your voice it made me
want to know you. That's what people are looking for

(31:40):
in an artist. It's like, why do I feel so
connected to the way that she's singing that you have
to have that You're very infectious and soulful and apparently
that struck a chord right.

Speaker 7 (31:54):
Hello, I wouldn't be here at work for the women
in my life.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
I'm gonna have to be dam Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
It shows team Kelsey Ballerini. By the way, because Kelsey's
a new judge, that's her first ever team member in
Voice history. That's the first one great compliment definitely is
So she'll continue to go on after the blind auditions
are done. No date is set for that yet, but
we'll keep you posted. Feeling good comes at you a
couple times a day. Let's do it tomorrow, six forty
five and nine twenty on Star Mack and Schmidty in

(32:28):
the morning weekdays starting at six am on Star one
oh five point seven
