Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going and makes me laugh.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
It Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one
O five point seven. Well, good morning, Smitty, Good morning.
Welcoming to your Tuesday. Hopefully it feels like a Monday.
But that's a good thing because you had yesterday off
for those that did, and.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'm sorry, yeah, we will try not to rub it
in because everybody I knew worked, so I felt really
I was like, sorry, I'm not stunning my alarm. But
if you are back at it this morning, wow, it's
gonna be one of those drives in where you're just
thankful the temperature on your dash hits zero. It is
so cold, you guys. I got gas yesterday and I
(00:45):
was sitting at that mere gas station and like could
not breathe. That wind was so terrible. It was really cold.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Isn't that just an awful You know, you've lived in
Michigan your whole life and still catches you off guard
when you take that big, deep breath of that ice
cold that just hits different.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
It's gonna be really cold today, So just a heads up.
If you're getting the kids ready for school, you're gonna
want some extra layerage.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Well, it was a big, long weekend of celebrating in
New York City, as it was officially fifty years of
Saturday Night Live, with events planned Friday, Saturday, and Sunday,
including the Big Special. And there were a ton of
moments we're gonna get to in scoop today. One of
those was an in memoriam segment that aired, highlighting SNL's
(01:40):
more problematic guests like Diddy, O J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Welcome.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
To the celebrity Battle of the Sexes and races.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh, Jay Stacy a pretty beautiful woman, Robert, don't judge
a book.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
My as comor my man is like our killing Thank
you are, Kelly.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I'm Jared Caldo from Subway.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Quite quite a few in there, well. R Kelly's attorney
is less than impressed at SNL taking a job at
his client. Kelly's lawyer, Jennifer bon Jen says, I find
it rather arrogant that SNL sees it as their job
to decide, belatedly who should and should not be canceled,
adding I think there's a few other problematic guests the
(02:24):
show failed to recognize, although she did not specify.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Is R. Kelly not in jail.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Meanwhile, the executor of O. J. Simpson's estate got a
huge laugh out of John Mulaney's big skit there and said, yeah, no,
if that's spot on. The brutalist director says the film
that has him as a major Oscar nominee has made
him exactly zero dollars. In a conversation that's really heating
(02:52):
up in Hollywood, director Brady Corbett spoke with Mark Maron
on his WTF podcast. This came out yesterday, and he said,
currently he is in contention for Best Picture, Best Director,
and Best Writing at the upcoming Academy Awards. But the
movie this is the one with Adrian Brody as the
Hungarian immigrant fleeing the aftermath of the Holocaust, has made
(03:15):
him exactly zero dollars. He said, I actually just directed
three advertisements in Portugal and it's the first time I
have made money in years. Him and his wife, who's
actually a co writer on the movie, have made zero
dollars on the last two films they've made. It was
a very surprising fact, and he said you know, we've
actual actually had to live off of a paycheck from
(03:37):
three years ago, he said. Note that filmmakers are not
paid to be promoting a film. So if you look
at certain films that, for instance, premiered at the can
Film Festival that was almost a year ago, are film
premiered in September. So I've believe been doing this for
six months. And with that you don't have any time
to actually work. There's no money coming in at all,
he says. And I am not the only director dealing
(03:58):
with this.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Star artists just a real term there. But I got
to feel in his next movie how to pay him
a little bit better.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Finally, Megan Markle has officially revealed the rebrand of her
new business. Now, for first we heard American rivera Orchard,
but that is going to be changing, she announced to
fans on Instagram, something she's really excited about.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
I had thought, you know what, American Revier. That sounds
like such a great name. It's my neighborhood. It's a
nickname for Santa Barbara, But it limited me to things
that were just manufactured and grown in this area. Then
Netflix came on, not just as my partner in the show,
but as my partner in my business, which was huge,
I thought about it and I've been waiting for a
(04:42):
moment to share a name that I had secured in
twenty twenty two, and this is the moment. And it's
called as.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Ever, she says. It essentially means always Ben, she said,
And if you followed me since twenty fourteen with the TIG,
you know I've always loved cooking, crafting and gardening, something
I wasn't able to share with you for many many years,
which some of the comments are pointing out is kind
of a dig at the Royal family.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Always got to pull it back in.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Always say a list blushed.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
All right, all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan
Star dot com.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Sometimes does that get a good feeling? Yeah, well let's
put a little positivity out there. It's feeling good on
starting a five points seven macach fitty hanging outs And
this was really cool students over the weekend at West
Catholic High School. While the choir got a big honor,
they actually got to perform get this at Carnegie Hall
(05:36):
at Carnegie All concert titled Voices in the Hall The
Compassion of Christ. A journey of justice, hope and peace. Now,
the concert actually featured one hundred and seventy five voices
from all over the US, including thirty four students from
West Catholic High School who were just beyond excited for
this opportunity, including students Sarah Goffer at a chance to
(05:57):
catch up with thirteen on your side before leaving.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
So amazing that a little school like ours got recognized
and is able to go to New York singing this
amazing group of people in the choir and also open
up for them and sing these two amazing, gorgeous pieces
for them.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, it was incredible. As a matter of fact, she
wasn't kidding. Wes Katholic opened the concert with a pair
of solo pieces. There was no other group that was
given that opportunity. We special just for those thirty for
those thirty some students from West Catholic, and honestly, they
couldn't have been more excited. As the president of the
school talking about how some kids weren't going, it necessarily
(06:35):
be able to go. But that's when the community decided
to step up big time.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Some of the community members said, well, how are they
getting there?
Speaker 7 (06:43):
Who's paying for this?
Speaker 8 (06:44):
I said, well, the families are if they can, and
a lot of kids are going to be left behind,
including some of that performed tonight for you all.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
And the community said, leave no choir member.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Behind, Leave no choir member behind. In just a matter
of days, they were actually able to scrap together sixty
five thousand dollars to make sure every band student from
the West Catholic High School Choir got to go to
New York and perform at Carnegie Hall. Just a life
moment for sure, I'm sure for each of those kids.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
All right.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
So Valentine's Day back on Friday was especially moving for
some of our senior citizens along the Lake Shore. So
back in January, age Well Services in Miskegan asked for
Valentine's Cards for seniors ahead of the holiday. Well, the
community did way better than the fourteen hundred age Well
(07:33):
had asked for. Kim lang is also a driver for
Meals on Wheels, talked to w ZZM said, we are
blown away, and these Valentines came from everywhere.
Speaker 9 (07:44):
We served fourteen hundred people a day, so we want
fourteen hundred cards. Knowing that that was really out there,
we were blown away. Our final total cards was thirty
four hundred. So not only are we able to over
our participants, we are now able to broadcast at further
(08:05):
out into the community. Seniors. We had them shipped to
us from Florida, from California, from all over just because
people care.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Just because people care. She said, this is huge because
for most of these seniors were the only constant in life.
They look forward to us, wait for us to see us.
It's the care in human contact that they need. And
she said, thirty four hundred Valentines. These are ones they're
going to hang on refrigerators throughout the year. This is
such a big deal and this was to me the
(08:38):
coolest thing Kim had to say.
Speaker 9 (08:40):
Makes me very proud and very secure in the human race.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Very secure in the human race. Take that for your Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I love that people helping complete strangers or maybe they're
community members trying to get to New York for these
incredible trips. We're always here to just highlight people doing
good things out there, share something positive for you to
bring with the end of the rest of your day.
We'll do it again before you coming up at nine
to twenty here on Star one to five point seven.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Well, this was pretty shocking, I think, to a lot
of people because it's the first time the couple have
been seen out publicly since all of the It Ends
with US drama. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds a hot
topic of conversation as they joined guests at Saturday Night
Live's fiftieth anniversary show and after party, and yes, even
(09:34):
made a crack about the ongoing legal battle with director
and co star Justin Baldoni. So here's what happened. This
is Amy Poehler and Tina Fey on stage.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
I have a question.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Oh hi, Ryan Reynolds, how's it going great? Bye? What
have you heard?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
You see?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Blake's face kind of snap to Ryan. So a lot
of fans aren't sure she was just playing along or
actually really surprised he would make a comment like that. So,
depending on the source you talked to, some of them
say that a lot of those at the SNL party
were very confused as to why Blake and Ryan would
appear at the show while this huge court battle is
(10:18):
going on. Others say that fans were super excited to
see them, while others were saying that there was a
ton of talk behind their backs and a lot of
people avoided them just out of fear of getting kind
of tangled into this web of what's going on.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
I mean, that's some serious intimidation where your dramas become
so big outside of work environments.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
That like people are like, oh no, no, no, they're going
through some things right now.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Yeah. So apparently they did skip one of the after parties,
but it was only because it was already so late.
So we'll see what they have to say. ESPN analyst
Stephen A. Smith is not bolting from his day job
for the White House. So have you heard these rumors
They've been really gaining some steam that Democrat Party leaders
are eyeing Stephen A. Smith as a potential candidate for
(11:07):
a twenty twenty eight election. When asked if he was interested,
he said, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 7 (11:13):
That's other people entertaining that I'm just doing my job
every day. I'm trying to run for office or anything
like that, you know. But I love talking politics. I
love talking about things, not just sports.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Right as you should.
Speaker 7 (11:25):
As you should, and if the American people want to
sit up there and say, yo, we want Steven Nate
to run. I'm not going to be mad at that.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Well, I don't know what they they're.
Speaker 7 (11:33):
Thinking, how fought if they want to entertain it, if
there's another way to entertain it.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah, he's definitely sticking with his sports job.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
You know, all the shouting would be interesting during the debate.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Interesting. Yeah, the un has not seen anything like that. Finally,
it looks like Britney Spears and Paul Slice are back
on track. Hanging out over the Valentine's Day holiday into
the weekend met up and this time it seemed pretty
serious because they actually hung out with Paul's kids as well.
Nothing super huge. The two grabbed a bite added Jack
(12:08):
in the box and then you see that Paul was
buying her flowers. But they did look very lovey dovey,
which a lot of fans were surprised about since their
relationship has been anything but calm. Remember that blow up
fight back in May of last year where Brittany actually
went to the hospital and she had claimed at that
moment that she was done with Salice completely does not
(12:29):
seem to be the case.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
I mean, you know what, I'm not trying to talk
about another man's looks really so much. Here just to
kind of compare this guy versus sam Is Gari, her
ex husband.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
A little different.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
It's like, you know, sam Is Gary straight out of
a catalog, right. It looks like he came from a
department store. This guy looks like he came from the
Lost and Found. Like, I'm confused, It's it's again. I
think a lot of the conversation is man. I hope
this is a.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Healthy person for her to be around. But I do
have some photos for you with your scoop at West
to Mission start dot com.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Good morning to you.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
It's back and SCHMIDI, you just brought up gross things
at restaurants, but it just promised me you're not going
to ruin one of my favorite places.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
No, because it had nothing to do with the restaurant.
It had everything to do with the people in the restaurant.
And that's why I say restaurant etiquette because this was
so insane to me. I'm not going to name the
restaurant because again, wasn't the restaurant. We had such a
great time. I went out Saturday night after I got
done working this great charity gig with one of my
(13:28):
really really close friends. I haven't gotten to scene in
a couple months. We had planned like a little gale
in time stage, so we went to a few different spots,
got a glass of wine, and then we were like, man,
we're hungry. We want like good deep fried goodness.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
So we found ourselves at one of my favorite places
in Grand Rapids, just maybe a half hour before the
Rascal Flats concert was getting out. That's important, Oh, that's important.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
The voice of Gary Lavax, Gary Lavoice making people hungry.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
So we're wrapping up. It's probably, like I said, it's
probably what tenhir eleven, and I noticed that there's a
line outside of this restaurant. The show's just gotten out.
People are looking for drinks and food. So we wrap
up and I'm gonna go grab my car so I
can come and like pick my friend up. And she's like,
I'm still finishing up. I said, this is perfect. You
(14:15):
can finish your drink in your food. I'll go grab
the car. So I leave, and then she face times me,
still sitting at our table in the restaurant. She's like,
I have no idea what to do. Two people have
walked in and sat down at the table with me.
I do not know who they are. They're from the show.
(14:36):
I can't tell if they're inebriated. Just walked in the
restaurant and sat down, like, moved our stuff over and
sat down.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Like it's communal seat.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Like it's communal seat. And we were in a booth,
so it's not like this was a long table to share.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Did they each occupy an end of the booth, trapping
the two of you inside?
Speaker 2 (14:56):
No, I'm not there, so it's just my friend. They're
wrapping up, so they're on the other side of the booth.
The two of them are sitting on the same side
of the booth.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Exit.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Okay, so she's just like she's waiting for the bill,
and she's like, what is happening? So then they start
talking to her. They just got done with the show.
It was so much fun. It's great. They start drinking
my drink, like I had left half my drink there,
and the guy picks it up and just starts swigging
out of the straw and starts eating our food. She's
(15:31):
dipping the pretzels in the cheese. She is eating through
the half a ranch wrap that was still sitting there.
These people have no idea who we are. They're drinking
our drinks and eating our food.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
You found the two folks that had the best time
ever at the Rascal Fly.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
That is so gross to me, Like, I'm not a
gross person. My friend is not a gross person. You
don't know that. Then I'm like, okay, I'm coming, Like
I'm right at the street here. So she walks out
and she gets in and she's like, I don't know
what just happened, And she said, they completely cleared our table,
every fry, every piece of wrap. She said. I got
(16:14):
up and still had a little bit of my wine left,
and as I'm walking away from the table, I see
the girl grab it and take it down. Have you
ever seen something more insane?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
At first?
Speaker 3 (16:24):
So what I was thinking at first was perhaps, you know,
your friends got the bills out on the table and
there's a line stacking up, and these people are like,
you know we're gonna jump this thing.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
We sure go sit down. That's what I was thinking.
Where you go? But no, not to pick up the ranch.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Wrap, shut it to the booth and ate and drank
all of our leftovers. My friend was like, I left
my leftover box because it felt like they needed it.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
I'd have been actually a little nervous to leave if
if I had met just paid the bill, because I
would be curious whether these people were the type that
were like, hey.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Can you unclose that out?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Ye? You unclose that out for a second. My friends here,
they got here before us. They ate, but as you
can clearly see, we're obviously tight. I mean I did
just eat the entire half of her of her rants
wrapped ever was left over.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
The waitress came over and she was confused, and my
friends like, I don't know who they are. Then you
deal with everybody in line who's just watched this happen,
and it's like, oh, so we can just blow on
into a family and like start eating their food and
then get a seat easier. Absolutely insane. I've never seen
etiquette like that.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
You know what the good thing is is that if
they're not full based on what you guys left behind,
no problem. You just go to a different table and
do the same thing. Honestly, what can you do? What's
your recourse? Because unless you're ready to fight for that food,
it's theirs.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
That's I was like, you know what, at the end
of the day, bold move.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
They wanted it more than.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Because nobody is going to say a word, and clearly
they do not care about people looking at them very questioningly.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
That's the confidence that the Rascal Flat Show will give you.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Schmidty Wow, so stalk.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yes, Schmitty is occasionally salty, and once a week we
allow her that opportunity.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Defented all out.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
But I'd like to think that your salt overlaps with
from other people salt Schmitty from time to time. Yeah,
that's the things that we can all get behind to
get angry about together.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
So guys, if you are driving a car that's almost
forty years old, you've got to be a little more cautious.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Low plastic gem.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
So I was out yesterday. It took the kids to
a doctor's appointment, and I drove from Rockford to Caledonia
and in that half hour span, I witnessed everything snow, squall, sunshine,
blowing and drifting like it was one of the wilder
rides I've had recently. So why and I even googled
(18:47):
this to make sure I saw with my own eyes
was a nineteen ninety two Dodge Caravan going ninety eight
miles an hour on one thirty one south and I'm
telling you, not a tread to be seen on those tires.
And his front headlight was gone.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Yeah, but we're talking about the Dodge caravan, the staple
of families across America in the early nineties that safely
got us from point A to point B for at
least five years of our lives. Many everybody had a caravan.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
For a moment.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
They did. But I bet that your woodside paneling was
still on the car. This one did not have that.
And I'm sitting there going, I promise you, if a
nineteen ninety two Dodge caravan sends me to Heaven, I
am going to be so bitter.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
So sulky.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Well, leave it to a world renowned journalist to fuel
the drama with the It ends with us co stars.
The Blake Lively Justin Baldoni court saga continues and yesterday
enough person on that movie you might not be as
familiar with the name. Brandon Slenner plays at List, the
(20:06):
love interest of Blake Lively's Lily Bloom in the film.
Gail King talking to him about how important this movie
was for him. It's worth pointing out he was actually
on CBS mor This Morning for nineteen twenty three, which
he's in the Paramount Plus show. It turned quickly to
the it ends with us.
Speaker 8 (20:24):
I just want people to remember why we made the
movie in the first place and what it stands for, and.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Just keeping the.
Speaker 8 (20:31):
Focus on that, like that, that movie meant so much
to me. And I have someone very very close to
me in my life's who's gone through what Lily's going
through for a long time, and I've been on the
front lines helping her navigate that space. So that movie
meant a lot to me. Yeah, and it means a
lot to her, this person in my life, and it
was one of the reasons that that me doing that
(20:54):
film gave her the strength to change her life.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
He said, it's really too bad that so much of
this other stuff has overtaken what the point of the
movie was. That didn't stop Gail from asking are.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
You team Blake or team Jess?
Speaker 3 (21:07):
He said, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
It ends with us. Taylor Knuckle there, it was really awkward.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
He's like, I'm not getting dragged in any lawsuits, so
I'm not saying a word, I mean, which is which
is smart to not step on toes.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
At the same time, you would wonder if somebody who
was on set as much as you know he probably was,
and saw these people interact, if he had seen something
that he deemed to be pretty offensive or pretty out
of line, that he might have taken a stance on it.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
In some ways, I.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Actually am more surprised he has not been named in
any of the lawsuits. I'm very surprised how much interaction
he would have had with both of them based on
the plot of this movie. Aubrey Plaza making a special appearance,
her first public appearance after the loss of her husband,
Jeff Fanna. This was quick, but you had to notice
(22:03):
something very very subtle.
Speaker 8 (22:05):
Ladies and gentlemen, Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
So she presented musical guests Smiley and Brittany during the
star studded SNL the fifty anniversary special. You'll notice she
also had on a tied eyed shirt under her blazer
with a very funky design that friend's say was a
tribute to her late husband. The two actually got married
wearing tied eye pajamas. They she looked really okay. Definitely
(22:33):
didn't do much of the red carpet, did not do
anything else with the S and L special beside this,
But her friend's say it was a really big deal
that she actually decided to go out in public, as
she's been just reeling from this her husband, Jeff mitsuicide
a few months ago.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
You know, because Aubrey Plaus's sense of humor, her delivery,
it's so dry in you know, just introverted and sort
of just quiet. I wonder if she's ever going to
kind of open up about this. And I don't think
she has to by any stretch, but I am curious
whether she will.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Speaking of the SNL fiftieth anniversary, we got a little
love that we got to talk about. Amy Schumer says
she's pretty certain Martin Short and Meryl Streep are definitely dating.
So Amy was one of those big stars that was
part of the Homecoming concert Saturday night. Talking to People Magazine,
she wentnessed a lot of lovey dovenas, saying there's really
(23:27):
no one funnier to sit next to than Marty Short.
I think the tea is Marty might be off the market.
That's what I'm seeing I don't know. She then suggested
it could be with the greatest actor of our time,
but I just don't know. Of course, rumors have been
flying ever since the two co starred in that one
season of Its Only Murder in the Building. Ye that
(23:49):
they are dating.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
I would love that.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Frankly, I would love even more to be sitting backseat
on a card trip with both of those two in there,
because I think it might be the most ridiculous thing ever.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
All of your celeb scoop it West to Michigan Star dot.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Com stone A five points, Jevin, let's do this. Your

Smitde Oh, I'm so excited, and I would love for
you to be there too, like you said. Final shot.
With today's Battle of the Sexist question, one hundred men surveyed,
name an occupation where the uniforms look a lot like pjs.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Oh, Victoria's Secret Runway models. Now, that was okay, those
are pjs. That was just the first thing came into
my head.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
I don't know, all right, six one six, four five eight,
one oh five seven one hundred men surveyed name an
occupation where the uniforms look a lot like pj's. You've
got that number one answer, and we've got your last
shot at justin Timberlake. Tickets on Star one oh five
point seven.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Good Morning Star. Who's this, Jane.

justin Timberlake concert.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Are you ready for it? Yeah? Right now?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
One hundred guys, Jane, We're asked to name an occupation
and it's the uniforms look an awful light like an
awful lot like pajamas.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
What do you think? Their top answer was, Okay, I'm
torn between two. I'm gonna go with scrub. Torn between
two you're going with what shrub? You're going with scrubs?
Speaker 9 (25:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (25:18):
Like a hospital?
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Yeah, like at a hospital where you're thinking more like
a doctor or more like a nurse, more like a
more like a nurse.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
You know.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
It's uh, it's a good thing you went nurses instead
of doctors, because nurses the top answer can great, you're
going to justin Timberlake. I'm doing it was nurses, followed
by custodians, then priests, and then doctors, rounding out the
top four answers.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
Way to go.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
You are last winner for Justin Timberlake. You will be
there tonight.
Speaker 4 (25:53):

It's back and Schmitty and hopefully you got to enjoy
(26:20):
a great weekend. The kids had yesterday off of school.
Maybe got to have it off with them. And you
know what, Smitty, I had an absolute unbelievable weekend.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
We went up north, We went to uh we went.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Up to the Gaylord area on to go skiing at
Sylvan up there treetops as well as Point Mountain. And
I wanted to talk to you about things that we
are constantly complaining about that you actually love, because I
had a love affair this weekend with snow.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Schmitty. Okay, we complained so much about the snow.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Snow, I gotta shove all the driveway all the roads
are so bad, oh, you know, like and it's because
it's always present and it does things difficult from time
to time, and there are to definitely days where you're.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Just not feeling it.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
But overall, the Gaalered area has like five and a
half feet of snow on the ground right now. It
was a winter wonderland for my family. When we pulled
into the driveway of the place we were staying, it
wasn't a driveway, it was like a cavern. There were
there were walls on the side of the driveway that
were all the way up to my kids chests. We
(27:28):
dug tunnels through full you know, through the snow like
underneath the big hills and stuff. That was like the
first time my kids have done that in years, because
we haven't had enough snow down here. And yet we
constantly complained the whole way there because it was coming
down like crazy. There was white out conditions and moments
in time. Then you get on the roads and you're
you know, you're fish tailing here and there. And my wife,
(27:50):
who grew up in Detroit area can't stand it. See
things any slide it means certain death for sure. We're
arguing like crazy and by the end of the weekend,
we're both just going beautiful.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
It's so gorgeous.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
I just wish it was like this all the time,
constant complaining just to win the end be like it's
my favorite thing about winner.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I'm gonna tell my brother and sister in law that
because they actually live right outside of Gaylard in a
very tiny little weather belt, and on Sunday they snowblowed
for six and a half hours.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
It doesn't surprise how to let them.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Know some people think it's awesome. I don't know what
you guys are talking about, because that is their life
every single day where they live.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Enjoy it.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Well, last, guys, somedime, because I.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Get well, I just have to tip my hat to
the now winningest coach in Big Ten history, with Michigan
States come from sixteen points down win over Illinois this
past Saturday night, coach Tom Izzo broke the career record
(28:55):
for Big Ten victories with his three hundred and fifty
fourth win. That record has stood since two thousand, when
Bob Knight's twenty nine year tenure ended at Indiana, and
it was so cool. So many people joined together in
a video to congratulate this coach, Coach D'Antonio, Roy Williams,
(29:17):
Jim Nance, Bill Knight, Greg Campy, even John b Lyin
and Mike Shryzhewsky take a listen, cochis O, Tommy Hey,
Tom coach is Oh hi Tom Hey, Chi.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
All the d'antonios. We'd like to congratulate you on number
three fifty four.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
You are a legend.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
I though you and I both always looked up to
Coach Night, and so it's amazing that you are now
surpassing him as a women is big ten coach of
all time.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
I think it's a record that may last forever.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
I really believe that I know one thing.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Your legacy will last forever.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
He loves the state of Michigan, he loves your University
of Michigan State, and he is, in my opinion, the
greatest coach in the history of college.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Tom Izzo is a Hall of Fame coach on a
Hall of fame human being.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
Okay, as if that was not cool enough. At the
very end of the video, who is it but Tom's mom, Dorothy.
Speaker 9 (30:13):
I wish I could celebrate with you, but I'm marching
on TV and I'm enjoying all of us.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
See on the sidelines.
Speaker 9 (30:21):
I love you very much celebrating big go Greed.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Oh, such a cool moment for coach Izzo and agreed
Hall of Fame coach Hall of Fame human, he is
one of the best.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Without it down and I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
You know we've seen Coach Izzo shed those tears of
emotion for a lot of reasons over the year. But
you know you throw your mom up on the screen
in a moment like gonna get you so waterworks are
coming for sure.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
All right.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Not the only basketball going on over the weekend. On Sunday,
it was the NBA's All Star Weekend. There's an eighteen
year old college student who is looking to make a
little scratch for himself and his education.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
His name was.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Jared Barajas, and he went head to head in a
three point contest with multi time All Star and sharp
shooter Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard. Here's the deal. It was
the Mister Beast one hundred K Challenge and it required
Jaren to just make one deep three pointer before Lillard
could make three. Now, again, this is one of the
(31:20):
best shooters in the NBA. No easy feat, and actually
Lillard had already sank two shots Jaren needed to make
one and he was running out of time. He gets
one off just before the buzzer, and that's when this
went down.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
You gotta cut to a commercials. He got you quick.
I keep shooting, keep shooting, keep shitting. Oh my gosh,
keep shitting, keep going.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Hey, hey, going you jump in the money, jumping the money.
At the absolute last second, he drills the deep three pointer.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
For one hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Mister bast literally has it in singles on the court
with them right there so you can go swimming it.
He gets mobbed by none other than Shaquill O'Neil Steph
Curry looking on. He described it as a life changing
moment for himself and his family. Gets to further his
education and really cool. The NBA also announced fifty thousand
bucks going to Lillard's scholarship fund and another fifty thousand
(32:32):
dollars to the Boys.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
And Girls Clubs of Oakland. So really cool.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Feeling good coming at you a couple times a day.
I always want to make a little noise and give
them a little positivity. Take with you to the rest
of your day. Let's do it again tomorrow six forty
five and nine to twenty right here on staff Mack
and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six am
on Star one oh five point seven
