Speaker 1 (00:03):
Wake up.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going and makes me laugh.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven. Oh, good morning Schmitty.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh man, it's Friday. You guys, we did it?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
You sure you promise it's Friday. We're done with this.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I would never say that if it wasn't true.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
All right, Well, good morning till you hopefully off to
a great star temperature shopper and ride about thirty degrees
with cloudy skies out there across West Michigan Highs today
right about forty, but especially Aria south of Grand Rapids.
It might see a little bit of action with snow
rain mixed today, but otherwise shitty. I'm looking ahead. I
won't get to see a little bit of sunshine on
the next few days.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Well, so I know you just heard Wilson Phillips. Hold
on that is literally the theme for today, because today
and tomorrow is going to be chilly, chilly like kind
of February feeling times. You look at Sunday, you look
at Monday, you look at Tuesdays. So we just have
to all hold on for a little bit longer. One
place that will be zero affected by whatever is happening

(01:01):
outside is inside at Vanandel Monster Jam. I left the
shows yesterday and they had like four of the Monster
trucks lined up outside, which I got Sam. I don't
know the names. One Head, Flames, one Head. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I would have just started making stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I will tell you that they were absolutely epic getting
loaded into Vanandel Because Monster Jam starts.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
Tonight, movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point
seven oh.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
A little bit of a shake up in the love
department for post Malone, apparently no longer with his fiance.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
They are officially done.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
He's already got a new lady by his side. Apparently,
Posty and his ex separated toward the end of last year,
and his new girl friend, Christy Lee, had been seeing
each other since the beginning of this year. A couple
fans have posted some videos of the two looking very
lovey dovey, even though they haven't gone super public. There's
not a ton known about Christy. She's a Parsons School

(02:02):
of Design student that is based in New York and
apparently has quite a background working with celebs like Bella Thorne.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
And Charlotte McKinney.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
But this is definitely a shock to fans today since
Posty was very much about his ex. The two even
have a daughter, remember that he welcomed back in twenty
twenty two. So apparently engagement has been called off.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
You know, relationships are obviously tricky in life, but yeah,
you're not wrong. He had you know, when he had
that little girl, he kind of changed everything in his life,
stopped doing all kinds of drugs and started just trying
to clean up his day.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Ever, is it that?

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Oh boy, this sounds so fun and fans were very
concerned it was being called off.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Not the case. Jonas Khan is still a go. This
is really cool.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
The Jonas brothers confirming this giant event is proceeding as planned.
A rep for New Jersey's American Dream Mall, because let's
be very nineties about this, says Jonas Khan, is basically
a takeover of the three million square foot shopping center.
A source says they will be doing a huge celebration

(03:06):
of their twenty year anniversary, so they want to honor
the Vand's roots. They did a huge mall tour back
in the early two thousands. They've got performances. I mean,
like you can't imagine. They're scheduled to perform five different
times throughout this weekend. They might even have an extra
show planned. The All American Rejects are joining Dnce. Little

(03:28):
Brother Franklin.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Is expected to take the stage.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Nick Jonas has a solo show planned, plus authors a
couple podcasts that are going to be out there.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
This thing is massive.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Plus they've organized a very unique Camp Rock experience. They
say fans are going to love. So I don't know
if you feel like road trip into Jersey. This thing
is still happening.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
You know that you have done something that's a cultural phenomenon.
If you're not just planning a tour and a concert,
but an entire convention wrapped around all the things that
you and your brothers have done.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
In your case, well, and if you and your brothers
that's the thing. I'm coming back together after so many years.
This is just brilliant, brilliant business by those three. Finally,
SpaceX had a eighth test launch of their starship last
night that didn't go exactly to plan. It did stay
in one piece getting into space and that's when the

(04:22):
entire thing came apart. And started raining debris down in
the Bahamas. Check out this call from SpaceX.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
So we're still getting video down from the ship.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
You can see we've lost several engines and we've lost
attitude control of the vehicle. I mean, how terrifying does
that sound. Eventually they're like, we've lost all control of
this thing entirely. Videos started popping up late last night,
people on boats, people on the coast near the Bahamas,
just showing what looks like an apocalyptic moment of all
this debris raining down into the ocean. I have not

(04:54):
heard anything about injuries or anything like that, but no
word on exactly what mas have caused this. A lot
of people saying, listen, space tourism is intriguing, but we
still have a long way to go.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, that's why they do this stuff on Cape Kernapple.
They just shoot it out over the ocean and you know,
cross your fingers.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
All right, all of you were celebt scoop at West
Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Sometime does that get a good feeling? Well, everybody should
be feeling good on a Friday. We're here to do
our part. Mack and Schmitte on Star one oh five
point seven and let's just go ahead and set the
mood when John Ball Zoo opens up for the season. Schmitty, Well,
the lions will be back really cool. After teasa to
a make announcement last couple of days, the zoo announcing

(05:37):
yesterday it brought in two new lions, a six year
old female named Amara and a nine year old man
named you Peppo, which I love the name of the
two have already arrived in grand rapids from the previous
zoo in Knoxville, Tennessee, and in the social media post
on their Facebook page yesterdayday, John Ball Zoo saying we
understand how excited you must be to get a glimpse
of tomorrow Amara and you Peppo. As they take time

(06:00):
to adjust to their new surroundings, they may or may
not always be visible. We appreciate your understanding to look
forward to sharing more about this beautiful duo soon. Now
they're moving in after one of the last lions passed
away after many years and another was moved to a
new facility. They're getting ready for busy twenty twenty five season. Guys.
It opens up March twenty first, already with the Lantern
Festival set to go off April ninth, in your first

(06:22):
Chances to go see those two new lions.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, it's really cute.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
I actually followed their social media and they had all
the clues up and they did a really, really nice job.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So well done. John Ball.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Pepper Elementary in Oak Park, over on the east side
of the state, understands how important March Is Reading Month
is to kids, and they want to teach kids not
just to learn to read, but love to read. There's
nobody better than dog Man. Oh my kids are obsessed
with the dog Man books and a very cool thing

(06:53):
happening at Pepper Elementary. Principal Emmanuel Haley sitting down with
ABC seven saying, for some reason, it just works.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
For whatever reason, our students are just enamored with dog Man.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
We have to think out of the box.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
And you know what, and that includes incentivizing reading.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
What this giveaway does. It provides us.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
With an opportunity to expand our children's home library, right.
It extends the vocabulary they're interested in it.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Every single student at Pepper Elementary got a free dog
Man book to kick off March Is Reading Month. The
kids absolutely over the moon. A copy of dog Man
big gym begins which our house just got from the
Scholastic book there. And it's really cool because author Dave
Pilkey understands how important this is.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
He's actually gifting even.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
More books to schools all across the country to foster
that joy of reading. And when you hear from third
grader Bethany Dollar, you get how cool it is.

Speaker 6 (07:58):
He's like super funny, and little Jim is like so
cute one book.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I love this.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Principal Haley says. The results kids are gonna fall in
love with reading, which is what we all want.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
They really do. I mean between his whole series of
dog Man and Captain Underpants and Cat Kid all that stuff. Like,
my kids love those books.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
They grew up to sixteen books at our house.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Very cool. Bally Good comes at you a couple of
times a day. Let's turn you up again at nine
twenty this morning.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
Right here on start movies, music, and all the gossip
in one place.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
It's the celebrities, gooop on Star one oh five point seven, Oh.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
Man, the mascara running with this one. Dolly Parton paying
tribute to her late husband Carl Dean yesterday with the
release of a new ballad honoring him. The song is
called if You Hadn't Been There, released just three days
after she revealed that her husband had passed at eighty two.
She writes on Social Carl and I fell in love

(08:57):
when I was eighteen and he was twenty three, And
like all great love stories, they never end, they live
in memory and in song, and I dedicate this to him.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
I wouldn't be if you had been met.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Holding surely you.

Speaker 7 (09:22):
Made mad dreams.

Speaker 8 (09:25):
Who then.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
If it's so good?

Speaker 4 (09:37):
The cover art is the two of them, and it
looks like this picture is back in maybe the early
sixties when they had just met, and it's both of
their signatures. Dolly plus Carl equals heart. That's super sweet,
have a really good song.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
I'd honestly love to know if she had this sort
of pen for him while he was still with us,
and you know, just releasing.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
It now, I want to say no, because I think
she wants that emotion a part of it, and the
more that you listen to it, you can almost feel
her getting choked up about, you know, missing the love
of her life. Britney Spears is opening up about her
controversial conservatorship once again, and even admitting to drinking to
cope with it. These are a couple of Instagram posts

(10:22):
from yesterday. She starts by claiming she was abused every
time she spoke out against the treatment she received during
that conservatorship from two thousand and eight till twenty twenty one,
and she does say I even drink to deal with
the heartache, writing I'm not lying. I don't like drinking.
I do it for my heart when it's been through
too much. I take on a lot of pain. I

(10:45):
put in a lot of work that people will never see.
She also went on to detail certain moments of that conservatorship,
saying she's willing to show the pictures that were taken
of her that were a complete waste. She said, I
was never a star that could speak up in a conservatorship.
I was in a busy that prayed over the inner
innocent and controlled where I went, who I saw, what
I ate. This has led to so many problems for

(11:08):
me that I'm still working on today.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
So hopefully actually doing the work.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
I usually praise celebrities that you know, discuss some of
the addiction that they might be dealing with. Hopefully that
can be kind of a new passion for her to
find her way in this world post conservatorship, but clearly
still dealing with a lot of trauma from that.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Yeah, I mean more than anything else. What I hear
when Brittany goes on these rants like this is that
she just still needs lots and lots of work on
herself and support.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Finally, this is very interesting. Remember the Morgan Wallen situation
where he threw a chair off the rooftop of that
Nashville bar, almost hitting a police officer. It led to
some legal action. He eventually paid a fine apologized to
the cops. Well, it's inspired a new drink. Morgan's buddy
Eric Church actually owns the Nashville rooftop are Cheafs and

(12:01):
is cashing in big by debuting a drink inspired by
the drama. For fifteen bucks, you can snag this drink.
TikTok video has gone viral of it. It's the drink
in my hand, a mix of Smirnoff raspberry vodka, Raspberry
liqueur lemonade, and a splash of soda.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
But what everyone's talking about. It comes with a folding
chair garnish. You know how you might have like a
little Maraschino up there.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
It is a full like maybe half foot long or
half inch long folding share.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
People are going wild for this.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's great to be able to charge thirty dollars for
a cocktail because of ten fifteen.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
If you if you're if you're buying two moments, hurry,
but it is definitely worth a picture sitting next to
the sign that now hangs on that rooftop bar that reads,
don't even think about it.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
You're not Morgan wallin all of your celeb scoop at
West Michigan.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Star Dot macka smitty hanging, and I have done what
you are doing right now, and you're right. It is
painful and scaring.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Well because you know it's coming.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
And every single person listening right now has had that experience.
What is the saddest book you remember as a kid,
or the first, the very first sad book you remember
because it is so triggering.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
This was mine.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
I remember growing up and reading Charlotte's Web. Anyone who's
anyone has read Charlotte's Web. And it's March is reading
month for my son Will and they're doing something really
cool at his school. They're doing one book, one school,
so the entire like kindergarten to fifth grade school is
reading Charlotte's Web.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
That way they can. They're having like group projects and
discussions even with like some.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
Of the older kids. It's a really great idea. And
I love Charlotte's Web. But the thing about Charlotte's Web,
and if there's some kids listening right now, I won't
spoil it too much, but Charlotte's Web does not.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Have the ending I think you think it would.

Speaker 8 (13:59):
And so I think.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Last night we wrapped up chapter six, so it's the
first time Wilbur the Pig has met Charlotte. He realizes
who Charlotte is. He's super excited about making a new friend,
and will we get done reading. We do two chapters
every night together, and Will loves friendship. It's like his
most exciting thing.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
He loves. He loves making.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
He loves making friends, he loves talking about friends. And
so we wrap up this chapter and he goes, oh,
I'm so happy Wilbur finally met Charlotte.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
They're going to be best friends forever. And then I
go and I know it's coming.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
I know it's coming, because again it's not the ending
you maybe want in Charlotte's Web, and I thought, oh,
my gosh, like my eye is twitching because I can
remember those books as a kid that were just so.
It's the first time you realize not everything has a
happy ending, and books are really good at teaching that lesson,

(14:57):
and that doesn't make them any less awful.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Second grade reading where the Red Fern Grows.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Thank you, that was where I was going to.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
That book is seared in my memory, old me, oh
for sure.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
The other one that I always think about is bridge
as Ariibythia.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
That actually showed up in a comment when I posted this.
I've not read the book, so I.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Didn't know that so so good, so so sad at
the same time, and it's one of you know, like
you said, with The Red Fern Grows, bridget Taribithia, The
Velveteen Rabbit even got me as a little kid, Old
Yeller said, yeah, I'd never see I remember seeing the
old movie before I ever read the book, Old Yeller,
so I knew what was coming.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
I wonder what the saddest book you remember as a kid,
because you know it wasn't even a kid for me.
I don't think I read this one until I was
junior high high school. But do not tell me, DoD
I me to talk about Lenny from of Mice and Men.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
That guy did not get what he deserved. He was
a good guy, he was misunderstood.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
All right, Were we gonna start talking about Boo Radley?

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Here a licen affected me. I had literal fears over
the end of that book.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
So, in honor of March's Reading Month and fostering the
love of reading for our kids, call in with the
most damaging book that scarred.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
You for life.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
You ever went to a kid say, hey, you want
to read something that's definitely gonna make you cry?

Speaker 4 (16:23):
I mean, oh my god, I just and I'm like
trying to figure out how I'm going to handle the
end of this with Will because he is the kind
of kid that I think will have an emotional reaction
like what.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Where'd Charlotte go?

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Well?

Speaker 2 (16:35):
The Circle of Life?

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Buddy six one, Let's watch the Lion King six one, six, four,
five eight, one oh five seven.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
What was the saddest book you read as a kid?
What immediately jumped to mine?

Speaker 1 (16:48):
What we were talking about redfer and Groves still gets
me in my feelings. Was bad?

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Oh, it wasn't necessary.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Mack and Schmidty in the Morning on Star one oh
five point seven, still into tay time spill the two sweetheart, Well,
it is time to spill the tea time. Here on
Starlino five point seventy chin. Every week we feature your
drama because it's easier to deal with in our owner
right six one six four five eight one five seven.
If you want to weigh in on today's message, he

(17:17):
get sent to our Facebook page. Schmitty, you think this
is a big red flag? I kind of do. Uh. Hey, guys,
my best friend, My best friend's fiance wears adult braces.
He thought he was going to be getting them off soon,
but his orthodonists told him recently they need to stay
on for another six months. Now, she wants to ask
him if they can postpone the wedding until they're off.

(17:38):
She said she's not embarrassed, but she also doesn't want
to take wedding photos and look back in ten to
twenty five years and always see the braces. It's not
a big wedding, so she doesn't think he'll mind. But
I think he's one hundred percent going to be at
least a little hurt by this. Pretty sure his future
mother in law won't like it much either. I don't know.

(17:59):
I mean, I kind of do feel like that's a
red flag if you're so concerned about something that's obviously
been a part of the dude's life for a little
while now that you're like, Nope, can't have those in
my wedding photos. It will bother me too much.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I mean, I'd be interested to see what he thinks,
because coming from a different perspective, I know a number
of people that are very, very not down with looking
back at pictures of them as adults and braces. Yeah,
one hundred percent, Like it's just something. I don't think
it does love havingywhere braces anyway. I think that you

(18:32):
know it's it is what it is, and if you
know they're not embarrassed by it, I'm sure. But at
the same time, wedding pictures are forever. I don't think
she's being Bridezilla level. I think she's honestly concerned, Like
when we look back, he's gonna be like, I.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Just wish they weren't on six one six four or
five eight one five seven, April on the line from
Grand Rapids. What do you think, April, they.

Speaker 8 (18:53):
Can do the invisible ones if he if they really
are pressed for time in some way, then maybe he
can convert it to the other ones. But if you're
options there, and I think they'll both feel better if
they're both in it with the same expectation and value
and understanding. Otherwise they maybe have to look at some
bigger pictures.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
See that's that's actually where I think kind of lends itself, Schmidty,
is what's the primary focus here? Getting married or taking
photos of you getting married?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
That's an easy thing to say, but like the dude's
gonna look back at pictures and probably not love that
he's embraces. I want to talk to Heidi on our
Facebook page. I didn't know what orthodonis can take your
braces off and put them back on. That's a thing
we would have.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Loved that for freshman year homecoming.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Oh yeah, maybe a call to envisilize drop that orthodonist's
name six one six four five eight one five seven
If you want away in an as al ways, share
that dirt with us, Give us your gossip with tea
tome each and every Friday, hit us up at West
Michigan Star.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Well, we may have had to wait along five y,
but Lady Gaga is back at long last. That highly
anticipated seventh studio album, Mayhem, officially dropped overnight and I
am seeing a ton of rave reviews. Of course, this
one off the album alongside Bruno Mars with some big

(20:20):
names a part of this, including her fiance, who was
a really big part of this.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
And she said, yes, it will sound like old school Gaga.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
She said, there have been times in my career where
I had an idea in terms of how to conceptually
approach a record, but I'd say this album from start
to finish was like pieces coming together. I didn't want
to turn it into anything artificial. I wanted to allow
myself to just follow the music, and by doing that
it did start to slowly remind me of my earlier work. Guys,

(20:53):
I personally really love this album. It is like og
Lady Gaga. A lot of people pointing out their songs
that have a Michael Jackson vibe. There's a song that
has a Prince vibe, There's a song that feels very
Phil Collins. In this just she's drawing a lot from
like the eighties and nineties it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
One of the new ones off that album. We're gonna
play for you in just a few minutes at the
end of Celebscoop.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
I mean, I don't know that she gets enough credit
credit for how eclectic of an artist she is.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Does it all right?

Speaker 1 (21:24):
I mean doing the kind of what would you describe
it as with Tony Bennett, Like some of the soul songs,
jazz with Tony. Yeah, there was just so many different
things that she's gone into.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Now, all right, let's get to Fire Festival too.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
I had this story last week that organizers, including Billy mcfarlande,
who's now out of prison after everything that went down
with Fire Festival one, people spending thousands of dollars to
find out they're staying on an island in a FEMA
tent and eating bread with cheese, is saying despite the rumors,
the twenty twenty five event is still happening. The problem is,

(22:01):
if you ask Isla Muhima's Tourism Board, they have no
idea what he's talking about. The tickets have officially gone
on sale thousands of dollars. They started fourteen hundred dollars,
but the Director General of Economic Development and Tourism says
We've got no paperwork. We have no contact with any

(22:22):
person or company about this. For us where this is
allegedly being held, this event does not exist. Now other
proof that it's happening. Antonio Brown, the former Pittsburgh Steelers
superstar who is apparently turned into a rapper, says he
is officially a part of the lineup.

Speaker 9 (22:42):
I a this ab and I'll be performing at five
Fast Part two in Mexico.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Make thirtieth Dodd scram it.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
I guess if you're go ahead, take your shot.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
I can't confirm or deny if this thing is once
again actually happening.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, I think Actually that Try Festival too is about
as real as Antony Fire Festival as Antonio Brown's rap
careersmitting all right.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Finally, Bill Murray, the actor and comedian, on the latest
episode of Hot Ones. This is the YouTube show with
Sean Evans where celebrities are interviewed while working their way
through increasingly hotter Wings was pretty much making it to
the end until he was crashed by Pete Davidson. Pete
was actually on the episode back in twenty twenty and

(23:29):
decided to give Bill some pointers on what he's got
to look forward to for the next twelve to sixteen hours.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
Do you have any tips for recovery? What a pepto
bismo and tupi the good toilet paper, you know, not.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Some like, oh, there's the tear I was missing that
I'm taking right and back.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Pete actually started crying. The wings were so high.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
It's a really great video, especially Bill Murray's reaction to it.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Got that for you with your scoop West Michigan Star
dot Com.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
All right, let's do this Battle of the Sexist time
in your first shout of an h minty to get
to this weekend's biggest most action pack thrilliing event going
on Monster Jama.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
All right, we've got one hundred men surveyed with Battle
of the sex is name something a dentist does to
your mouth that you can't eat afterwards?

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Something I was gonna say, there's there's not a lot
of appetizing things that come to mind right after a.

Speaker 4 (24:26):
Dentist message man book six one, six, four, five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundred men survey name something
a dentist does to your mouth that you can't eat afterwards.
That number one answer is score new Monster Jam tickets
with Star one oh five point seven, Good morning Star.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Who's this? Hi, Whitney, Whitney. The last time you went
to the dentist, did you get any cavities? I did not, thankfully,
Ao part of the no cavity Club. I hope you
got your picture on the wall and they let you
pick a prize. Yes, of course, right. I think they
should all do that still for adults. I'd be all
about that. But maybe in instead of like, you know,
a little chotsky toy, you give me like a like

(25:04):
a coupon for I don't know, tacos or something like that.

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Oh, totally love that.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
All right. Let's see then, since you are such a
no cavity person, I'm sure you get in there every
six months. So one hundred guys were asked to name
something the dentist does to your mouth that keeps you
from eating afterward? What do you think? The top answer is.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
There as they numb your mouth, you.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
Say numb your mouth. See, in my head, I went
right to the floor ride because when I was a kid,
you had to swish the floor ride around in your
mouth for like sixty seconds, and then you couldn't eat
for like an hour and it was the worst part
of any dentist trip. Now now they like painted on
your teeth and it lasts for like six months. Now
I don't mind floor ride at all, But that was

(25:48):
not it. It turns out that you're one hundred percent
right numbing your mouth is the tower. Aw. Yeah, see
all that brushing and all of that flossing paid off
for you. You've got Monster Jam tickets. Congrats.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Oh yeah, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah, you got some kiddos. They're gonna have a great
time finding out. They're going to see all these big
trucks this weekend.

Speaker 8 (26:09):
I do I have three obsessed with the Monster truck.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Perfect well, have an absolute blast at the show. And
if you're listening right now, don't feel too bad. Just
be listing here on Star all day today more chances
to win Monster Jam tickets. Be listing each hour for
your chance to go this weekend with Star one a
five point seven Start on A five points seven. Good
morning to you. It's Mac and Schmitty. And you know

(26:33):
on Tuesdays you do Salty Smitty. Yeah, you know, I
feel like this is your Salty Mac topic almost because
I want to know what you feel is the worst
standard appetizer that has served in restaurants, because I have
been feeling had for most of my life off of what,
at one point in time was one of my favorites
and has now morphed itself into my least favorite appetizer. Smitty, Okay,

(26:55):
what is that? Monzarella sticks?

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Oh boy, Okay, I know I'm not taking part in
this conver Well.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
I can tell you this right now. Mazzarella sticks, when
done right, are phenomenal. They come out, you get the
good wee mozzarella cheese. When you break it up, there's
a little bit of crispiness to it. It's hot, it's delicious,
it's been Where.

Speaker 9 (27:10):
Are you having bad mozzarella sticks? I'm sorry you for
not going there. Bad mozzarelli sticks are everywhere. It's a
plague across restaurants in America. Schmitty, They come out of
a freezer. They come in there and when you crack
open some of them. At some of these restaurants, Betty,
I swear, it's like.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
They took a string cheese, chopped it into ten pieces
and put the tiniest little one in between those. There's
more open space and cavities you could build a bedroom
inside these.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
We're going to bad places.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
I have not had a bad mozzarella stick at a
local West Michigan restaurant yet, I really haven't. They are
absolutely delightful. And if you looked at me and said, hey,
do you want a cheese stick, I'd say no. And
then they have said would we deep write it? I'd say,
I'll take a pack of thirty. I love mozzarella sticks
are my most favorite.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Well, is there one that's burned you then in your
life that you feel like when you go to a
restaurant they're all over restaurant menus is not well? I
know you're not eating Colin MARII. I know you know
that that's not one that's ever going to.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Enter your mouth, like if I order an app I love.

Speaker 9 (28:07):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
I don't think I've ever been burned on the Southwest
egg rolled. We got good Southwest. I mean I've had
some potato skins.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
What about shrimp cocktail, because that's another one that people
get super upset eat seafood. You know what, You're really
making me angry right now because you trashed my position.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
I'm a toddler. If it's not bagel bites or something
along those lines.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
I'm just not ordering.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Why did I bring this up with somebody who eats
off the kids menu? Right? That's basically.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Sometimes because I get a good.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Let's go heading into the weekend. Let's make sure it
gets started on a great note. Feeling good right now
in starting five point seven? What's up?

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Well, he may only be seven, but watch out because
he had some serious skills at Little Caesar's Arena.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
Seven year old Hudson Alpin and his brother Hayes were
guests of the Detroit Red Wings the other day. Hudson
is him make a wish kid, Patrick Kane and Dylan
Larkin both acting as hosts, showing him everything top to bottom.
He got a special look at the locker room, even
invited out onto the ice to practice with his most

(29:23):
favorite teen in the whole wide world.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
See.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
Hudson is a liver transplant patient that is now awaiting
a new kidney. His mom says he's been through just
about everything you can imagine and still remains the bravest
kid I know. As for Hudson sitting down with ABC seven,
it's pretty confident about his skills.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
I Wing, you want to be a Red Wing so much,
so much.

Speaker 7 (29:50):
Some kind of showed him around a little bit, him
and his brother, Hudson and Hayes. So that's great. I mean,
we can spend a little bit of time with these
kids and talk to him and just I don't know
if we if it helps them make their day or
it helps them feel better, that's what it's all about.
But leaving time coming on the ice and just spending
some time with them, it's, you know, the least we
can do.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
They were really nice, weren't they.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Yeah, how many goals did you score?

Speaker 4 (30:12):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Well, too many?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Well hundred, I don't know, probably like one hundred goals,
So big deal.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
I love make a wish. Well done, Hudson. This is
such a cool video.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I'll put it up at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Share those memories with your brother too, Yeah, really cool,
all right? Spitty Pasadena High school football team had a
memorable season, and as a matter of fact, they went
from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows
because after worthing its first division championship and get this
ninety one years, it was only a few weeks later
that the Eaton fire near Los Angeles erupted back on

(30:47):
January seventh, and it wound up destroying all of their
equipment and affecting some of the players' homes, even losing them.
And so coming around to this season, the guys needed
to get back on track, and is none other than
former Lions QB Matthew Stafford who stepped in to help out,
stopping by the school with a big announcement earlier this week.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
You guys are shooting a boot it.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Next year, we got to all new uniforms. Oh my gosh,
I could have. I'm happy.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
We need new stuff and I'm just grateful that is
coming to us and he came down here and had
this time for us.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
I'm grateful, Thank you.

Speaker 9 (31:26):
It was.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
That was Andrew Johnson right there, the team's cornerback. And
you know what he says, He came down there. He
came down there with the Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl
winning trophy in hand, as well as his Super Bowl ring.
He let the kids take photos with it, throw on
that ring there himself, and they could not have been
more over the moon. As another player continued to talk
about before Matthew caught up with how he wanted to

(31:50):
do this because his heart was just broken for these kids.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
Incredible, like one of my favorite quarterbacks ever, number nine.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Just yeah, I can relate so much to him. It
was really cool. The semm can't imagine, you know, some
of the feelings of loss and grief and all that.
It's uh, it hurts my heart. But that's why I'm
here today to try to, you know, give a little
bit of joy back to these guys and hopefully get
I'm excited about playing football again. So really cool. He
is replacing their equipment sixty varsity jerseys and get this

(32:18):
also donated one hundred and fifty uniforms to the Pasadena
Panthers youth football teams as well.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
So yeah, a lot of A listers really stepping.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Up big time. So Bail good coming at you a
couple times today. I always want to share people doing
great things out in our world when we can. Let's
see it on Monday six forty five and nine twenty
here on Star Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday
starting at six am on Star one oh five point
seven
