Speaker 1 (00:03):
Wam. It gets my day going and makes me laugh.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It Mac and Schmidty in the morning on Star one
oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Wow, good morning, schmid Good morning. Welcome into your Monday
fresh week. And here we go starting a little wet
out there with light rain in some areas around West Michigan,
temperatures hovering close to fifty degrees. We gotta see things
get a little bit nicer as the day goes on,
and see times in the mid sixties before we see
some more rain. I mean it's spring and westmans.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Honestly, I thought this weekend was way better than I
thought it was gonna be.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Bree.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
I was out in Rockford for the Cinco de Mayo
street party on Saturday. It was stunning. Yesterday was gorgeous.
The sunset last night. I think we got spoiled over
the week and I was not expecting it.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
You know, you just hit me with that too, Schmidty.
Sinco de Mayo is upon us today or is it
celebrated on Patio Sinko? E day, Drinko? How did you
have some good mark ritas les.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I mean, shout out to the efendad tacos Singo de
Mayo all the businesses that were out. I was absolutely
blown away. Rawford does it right down.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
I'm sure I miss that one.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Huge movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well, all eyes will be on New York today as Ditty,
the music mogul who has had a massive fall from grace,
will watch his attorneys attempt to select a jury of
his peers who will decide his fate. It has been
confirmed that Seawan Combs will be present in that New
York court. However, the biggest challenge, according to experts, finding
(01:39):
a jury that will listen to the facts and to
the best of their ability, render a fair verdict for
a man who is a defendant, not a man known
as Ditty. A very rare case where this could take
some time. Combs faces five counts on charges of racketeering, conspiracy, trafficking,
and transportation. If convicted on all counts, he could face
(02:03):
life in prison. Remember, he's been in custody at the
Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since September of last year
and has pled guilt not guilty to all charges.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Spinny, do we know whether, if any of this will
be televised. Oo. I just wonder whether it's going to
turn into the next big court case that people are
watching TV.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
I don't remember reporting on like a full ruling that
there wouldn't be any kind of media allowed. So yes,
I think we're going to hear a lot about this.
This is a really scary incident for NBC sports reporter
Mike Turrico. He was actually taken off the broadcast at
the Kentucky Derby over the weekend. By the way, shout
(02:44):
out to sovereignty making that big win, But it was
a peanut allergy. Apparently Mike is seriously allergic and came
into contact with one. Viewers were noticing during like the
pregame coverage. He was very kind of tired looking and
just could barely keep his head out. That's when the
reporters made the announcement, No, you heard.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Mike Jerico earlier in that report there, we want to
tell you that he does have a nut allergy. He
had a reaction earlier.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Today.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
He is feeling five now, but he's just going to
stay on the sideline. So Mike, I know you're watching
right now. I hope you're feeling better and get back
to yourself here very soon.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I mean, that's really terrifying, isn't it. Like if you're
someone with a penat allergy, you know all too well
that can go real bad, real fast.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
It's wild to think about, you know, just an established
adult like that having that knock them out of such
a big moment when they're as a professional as Mike Turrico.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
And finally, it was a big weekend for the University
of Michigan class of twenty twenty five. At graduation, they
got none other than Michigan native and MLB legend Derek
Jeter with some very wonderful words.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
While yourself and the world with your dedication to following
through on your passions. Passion and dedication always beat talent.
This is the start. It's the start of a new
and thrilling chapter in your lives. Look around, soak it
all in the faces you see, the friendships you've built,
the memories you made. As coach Sambeckler said, those who
(04:13):
stay will be champions. Wow, these past few years have
been some of the best of your life. This place,
the people have surrounded you and supported you, help shape
who you are. You will always be at Michigan Wolverine.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Yeah, he's getting a lot of accolade today. It was
a really really good speech.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
You think that guy knows how to do a locker
room speech. Minty, thank you been a little.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Bit all right? All of your celebt scoop at West
Michigan Star dot.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Com, Seval Fine points seven. It's Mack and Sette here
to get you feeling good right now. And you know what,
if you're a Tigers fan, you better be feeling good
because they are currently leading the American League. Number one
team in the American League. But a long time since
we could say that. But how about history In a
game as old as baseball, where the record stretch back
about one hundred and fifty years, when you do something
that has never been done before, that's pretty incredible. And
(05:01):
Friday night it was a Tiger making history as the
game was tied one to one at the top of
the ninth inning as the Tigers were taking on the
Los Angeles Angels on the road, and that's when Riley
Green stepped up to the plate. Jason Bonnetti on this call,
step bull drilled tape rightfield. Riley Greed sent it over
the world. It is cold.
Speaker 7 (05:23):
The Tigers lead.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
That's right. That would give the Tigers a two to
one lead, and then Cole Keith would come up and
he'd homer and the left shetter make it three to one.
Hobby Abaya is next up, He's homer in jump scores,
it's five to one. Next thing, you know, carry Carpenter's
scoring on wild pad. Six to one. Finally, they went
all the way through the order, which means Riley Green,
who led off the inning, had a chance to step
(05:48):
up to the plate one more time.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Green powers this call high in the ear right center field.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Ley Creed turns it again two in the inning. He
becomes the first player in Major league history to ever
hit two home runs in the ninth inning of a game.
We're talking about over two hundred and thirty thousand Major
League Baseball games, that includes each and every one of
(06:17):
them with a ninth inning, and it had never been
done before in history until Riley Green did it in
a Tigers win Friday album. How incredible is that?
Speaker 1 (06:28):
So Carolina Hurricanes forward we're talking NHL now, his name's Seth.
Jarvis clearly has the greatest childhood friend group period to
support him in the NHL playoffs. Five of his friends
rented a mini van and drove twenty five hours from
(06:48):
Winnipeg to Rally to watch him play in Game five.
On game day, he had no idea this was happening Seth.
Seth's friends hung out in the arena a parking lot.
They grabbed each a different Jarvis jersey, and then the
moment was captured where they held up a giant sign
(07:09):
and he saw them from the ice, realizing that they
were there, and of course they had to use the
Noah cod song. He literally started crying. Five of his
childhood friends driving more than twenty four hours to watch
this happen. It was clearly great luck because they won
(07:29):
the Hurricanes, advancing to Round two of the playoffs where
they will take on the Washington Capitals in Game one
tomorrow night.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
That's mass twenty five hours in a gard.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Twenty five hours in a rented minivan, and they he
posted a picture of them now and then one of
them as kids, and it was like the sandlot.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
It's so cool, very cool, feeling good coming at you
a couple of times today. I always want to share
awesome things with you. We'll do it again this morning
at nine.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Well, thankfully an incident was kept from happening at Lady
Gaga's concert in Brazil over the weekend. Police yesterday saying
two people have been arrested in connection with an alleged
plot to detonate explosives at a free Gaga show in
Rio Deshaneiro, the biggest show of Gaga's career, attracting more
(08:23):
than two million fans to the Copa Cabana Beach. Now,
it's very interesting. We're learning more details today, including the
fact that Gaga's team was not told about this. I'll
have more in your next scoop about her comments. Police
say that they arrested two people in connection with the
alleged plot before the show happened. They said a man
(08:44):
described as the group's leader in the southern state of
Rio Grande de Soul, and they also arrested a teenager,
but did not elaborate on roles in the plot or
how the group came to target Gaga's free concert. Police
saying those involved were recruiting participants, including teenagers, to carry
out integrated attacks using improvised explosives and molotov cocktails. The
(09:08):
Justice Ministry determining the group post a risk to public order,
but did not believe that there was any risk to
the Gaga concert going forward. They said the group falsely
presented themselves online as quote unquote Little Monsters, which we
know as the nickname for Gaga fans, in order to
reach teenagers and lure them into networks with violent and
(09:29):
self destructive content. They raided the homes of more than
fifteen suspects across Brazil for this. It is pretty insane
news this morning.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Ye scary stuff. I mean, it makes you think about
the foiled plot of the Taylor's Swift show in Paris,
and then of course.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Vienna, Vienna, excuse me, that's what they're talking about.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Ariana Grande had those bombs go off in Manchester.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
So we'll have more about that in next hour scoop,
including Gaga this morning. Aaron Rodgers could be married. This
is very interesting. The veteran quarterback stepping out at the
Barnstable Brown Gala Friday night before the Kentucky Derby and
on the red carpet, fans noticed he was wearing a
very simple dark colored band on his ring finger. It's
(10:11):
very simple, so not one of those really glitzy looking
Super Bowl Championship rings that he might have after winning
with the Packers. It's hard to tell if it is
actually a wedding ring, but they've noticed that when he
was in some training camps earlier this year, he did
not have that on. He was spotted at an event
even as recent as March did not wear a ring.
(10:32):
And we have noticed that he's only spoken very privately
about a serious relationship with a woman named Britney. That's
all we really know. He has not gone into much
detail about the relationship. He's kept it very very private,
and people are thinking that they actually tied the knot
and this is something that he's keeping super secret while
he is still a free agent and maybe signing with
(10:54):
an NFL team.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Yah, he can commit to a woman, Smiddy can't commit
to an NFL team not doing it.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Finally, it was a nuts massive weekend for Disney. First,
Marvel's Thunderbolts doing way better than expected seventy six million
in domestic sales over the weekend, surpassing the one hundred
million dollar mark globally. This is a big deal, as
Marvel is really hoping to kind of win fans back
(11:19):
with some of these bigger releases. Thunderbolts, We've got Fantastic
Four coming, Avengers, Doomsday is now about a year out.
But they also strunk it big with the re release
of Star Wars episode three in time for May. The fourth.
Revenge of the Sith actually edged out The Accountant too
for the number two spot over the weekend. So yeah,
(11:41):
really nice one for Disney. All of your Celebscoop at
West Michigan Start dot com, goob on in to you
Schwindi and you said it tis storm season and moving out.
I feel like there's going to be certain people listening
right now. And I'm not talking just you know, the
really emotional feeling of Wow, my kid has already finished
a year of college or a couple of years. I'm
(12:02):
talking you have to move their stuff out of a
dorm room. Because this video over the weekend is just
so perfect. So coach Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions
is like every other dad. Okay, his freshman daughter right
because she's gonna be going into her sophomore year at
Michigan State moving out of the dorms, and his adorable
(12:22):
wife Holly, who is So Funny on Instagram, decided to
post this video of dad attempting to move a love
sack out of the Michigan State dorms. It's so perfect,
(12:48):
So if you're not aware of what a love sack is,
it's kind of a gigantic bean bag. I'm talking like,
think of a beanbag from the seventies and then times
that by a hundred. They're massive. And you can see
him trying to roll it out with his son. It's
just the four of them. One of my coworkers brought
that up there, like Dan Campbell, you think you'd have
a team, it's just dead. Son roll in this love
(13:10):
sack out in some kind of rolling bin they found
on State's campus, then trying to push the thing into
his truck and then literally laying on it to smoosh
it down enough that he can close the flap on
his flatbed. It's so perfect, and it just took me
right back because there is always that one piece of
(13:31):
furniture or one thing that sometimes you just leave behind.
You're like, rip, this is now a part of the
dorm because moving it out is a nightmare.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I actually had that experience, not with my parents. They
were smart enough to not help me move out, and
it was in the dorms. It was Cedar Village at
Michigan Stateia, actually, and moving my queen size bed up
into the fourth floor, which was the top floor in
the apartment building there at Cedar Village with no elevators
in the August heat was terrible. Taking it down though,
(14:04):
was even worse because everybody else was also moving at
that same moment. And then we literally put it in
the back of my roommate's truck and we thought we
strapped it down enough. Schmidy I had a mattress fly
and at seventy five miles an hour down the highway,
we didn't leave it in the apartment. We wound up
having to take it to the nearest dumpster because it
was destroyed after hitting them.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
How tall was Cedar Village two stories?
Speaker 3 (14:28):
No, it's four stories. We were on the top floor
of the four story pats.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Okay, because my buddy lived in different ones that were
only like two floors in Cedar Village. Because that's all
right now, I lived on the fourth floor of Kissler
and that anyone that went to Grand Valley knows that
I'm talking about traditional living, and it wasn't four flights
of stairs, it was eight and anything. We had zero elevators,
not a thing in traditional housing because these were the
(14:51):
original dorms from like nineteen sixty one when the school opened.
And I can tell you right now anyone will remember
those terrible like plastic looking dresser substitutes. You got them
at Target, ike a mire and if you did not
duct tape all the drawers in, you were like my
dad who was halfway down the eight flights of stairs
(15:12):
and everything.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Poured out, nothing more infurio.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
And he just walked out. Yeah, he was like, I
will buy you new clothes. I will like, this is
my seventeenth trip up eight flights of stairs and we're done.
We're good.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
That's it. College is over. You're not any.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
Human torch was denied a bankload.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Right, let's dive into that news that really won't benefit
you at all except for it maybe should be a
click later on at work. Give us this first.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Australians arriving at polling places over the weekend followed their
civic duty by eating a democracy sausage. It's a cultural tradition,
apparently a national if light heated symbol for electoral participation. Yes,
you show to vote and you get a hot dog
whatever I heard.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Free sausage smnny Man accused of setting house on fire
to see firefighters. Uk Man accused of setting his own
house on fire just to see the public servants at work.
Firefighters were dispatched after he called for the fire. Ninety
minutes after it went out. He called because of another one.
They did a background check. He had called the fire
department eighty times in the last years, and I'm not.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Going to judge that. By back country runners in New
Mexico embracing the physical and emotional challenge of racing with
pack burrows, they strap donkeys to them and do their
best to run a race while the donkeys are like,
this ain't my thang, it's.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
A little role reversal. I feel like schmenny. NYPD officer
pulled Queen's driver over and borrowed seventeen hundred dollars. Yes,
NYPD officer Armando Sylvester pulled over a driver in Queens
while wearing their uniform and didn't give him a ticket. Instead,
they asked them nicely if they could borrow seventeen hundred dollars,
(17:03):
promising to pay it back. The person actually gave them
the money, and I know you'll be shocked to hear this,
But then the police officer did not pay them back.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Well, I was gonna say, don't pull me over. I
don't even have seventeen dollars if you can't trust it.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Kye.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Finally, in time for Mother's Day? Are you very used
to getting? You know, the macaroni and cheese made art
with the dried noodles, not anymore. Kraft mac and Cheese
by Ring Concierge presents the Forever Macaroni Necklace. It is
a forteen carrot gold noodle strung on a delicate sixteen
inch gold chain. I have posted this to my Facebook
(17:40):
in case my husband is listening. I want this.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
It's the CHEESIESE man airlifted from Japan's Mount Fiji, rescued
again after he returned to search for his phone. Yea,
did you see this one? He got airlifted down with
altitude sickness, and then four days later went back and
did it again to find his phone. I mean, tell
all of this, we haven't been there. You knew right
where you left it though it was right there. That's
(18:06):
this week's headline to see any great ones out there,
send them our way always at West Michigan.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Star, Movie's music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
It's the celebrity Scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Well, I've been following this breaking scoop from over the weekend,
and now Lady Gaga's team is saying cops never once
informed them about an alleged block bomb plot that was
supposedly supposed to take place at her show over the weekend.
Gaga with a massive performance in Rio dejan Naro, Brazil
(18:43):
on Saturday. More than two million people were there. Cops
now confirming they've arrested at least two people, but a
rep for gagas as the team learned of the alleged
threat from the news prior to even during the show,
they'd heard nothing from police or any other authorities regarding
any potential risks. Gaga didn't get the chance to choose
(19:05):
not to perform because she was sent out on stage
without any knowledgeable could happen the lot of what fans
have been talking about today, Because we've brought up the
Taylor Swift vienna plot that was thwarted. We've brought up
the Manchester bombing when Ariana Grande was on stage and
they were kind of like, wow, you would think Gaga
wouldn't want to take even the chance of putting her
fans in danger. Gaga didn't know. Her team is acknowledging
(19:27):
they're now working closely with law enforcement to make sure
that going forward there's more safety measures in place. She
does not seem very excited about this at all. According
to state police, two people were part of a radicalized
group that promoted hate speech toward the LGBTQ plus community.
They were arrested yesterday and authorities think that may be
(19:50):
at least one reason that the Lady Gaga free concert
by the Way was targeted.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
You know, one thing, to definitely not tell Lady Gaga
that seems messed up. Another thing, I wonder did they
tell the venue or the organizers of the event so
that security could I.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Don't know that. I've not heard anything from the venue yet,
I mean not.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
The part of me is like, you gotta tell the
people who are responsible for protecting everyone there. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy may joke about a lot,
but anti Semitism ain't it If you missed this story.
Over the weekend, he lost his ever loving mind when
video surfaced of a group of people celebrating a birthday
or something with bottle service at Barstool Sansom Street. That
(20:36):
is a bar that is owned by Dave in Philadelphia.
The problem here. The giant sign that came out with
the bottle service lit up said bleep the Jews. It
was pretty horrific. Dave was immediately told about this. He
tells fans that he had fired both employees that were
part of this. He is talking with the manager about
(20:57):
how this was ever allowed to happen. In the first
you can see him fired up. He said, literally, I
am so hot you could fry an egg on my head.
He had talked about taking everyone involved down. He did
find the people that were responsible for this, but then
yesterday morning he kind of backed off a bit and
had a different idea.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
Let's try to turn a hideous incident into maybe a
learning experience. As cliche and very unlike me, but I
talked to both the culprits who I know are super
involved in it. Talk to the families. I'm sending these
kids to Auschwitz.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
They've agreed to go.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
That's of course, the Holocaust concentration camps been in touch
with the Crafts, who run the anti hate group. We're
going to send these kids to Auschwitz and they're going
to do a tour of the concentration camps and hopefully
learn something and maybe like their lives aren't ruined and
they think twice and more importantly, other people like see,
(21:52):
it's not just like words you're thrown around. So to me,
that's a that's a fair outcome of this event.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Yeah, well, he mentions the Crafts. That's Patriots owner Robert Kraft,
co founder of the Foundation to Combat Anti Semitism. Together,
they are financing this entire trip.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
I mean, honestly, I don't like this solution. I think
it's an interesting one. I hope those guys still get
fired afterwards. I don't know how you could think, even
in any sort of context that that would be. Okay,
they didn't work.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
For Dave, Okay, these are guests like these were barred,
Like they just went to the bar to celebrate a
birthday and then came up with this. The two the
way I think they were both waitresses. They've been fired
and including the people that put this together. But I
think it's it's definitely not very deve portinoy like, as
you said, but I think it might be kind of
an interesting solution to this. We'll see. Finally, I want
(22:44):
to talk about Netflix, because I don't know about you.
I watch everything with subtitles. I have to a ninety
year old woman, I can't hear very well. And Netflix
has said they're new data shows more than half of
all viewing hours on the streaming service happened with subtitles
or captions on which has inspired the streaming giant to
(23:04):
tweak the existing options. So now you can have original
language subtitles that show only the spoken dialogue. If you
watch things in subtitle, you know that a lot of
times it includes like phone buzzing, dramatic music swells. But
now you can pick just simple dialogue. You can have
English be what you need. It will get rid of
(23:25):
all those cues. People are already saying this is amazing.
It launched with you season five, that brand new one,
and they're saying, oh my gosh, I will never watch
anything without English.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
CC again, like you care what show says? You're just
there as Yeah, I miss.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
By the way, you miss a lot, y'all. If you're
not watching with subtitles on, you miss a ton of
a plotline.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
I used to make fun of you for this relentlessly.
I now do it because if I don't, I am
listening to that TV so dang loud.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Oh so you're telling me you know what Peaky Blinders
is doing without the subtitles a different language. Yeah, all right,
all of you are celeb scoop at West Missie start o.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
It is on for tonight our Grand Rapids. Griffin's game
number two is they chase a Calder Cup of the
Playoff taking on the Texas Stars over at Van Andalerena
in Battle of the Sexies. Gets you in right now?
Speaker 1 (24:11):
All right, seven pm? Puck hits the ice? Are you ready?
One hundred men surveyed name an accessory kids put on bikes,
you know, and.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I haven't seen too much yet, but where are the
kids putting the like playing cards?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
And no, I haven't introduced the playing cards yet to well,
but now that he's on a two wheeler, I'm like, dude,
you want to be the coolest in the hood. Yeah,
you can really rev that, d you do six one six, four, five,
eight one oh five seven caller seven one hundred men
surveyed name an accessory kids put on bikes?
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Good morning star? Who's this Luisa? Louisa? How old are you?
Speaker 6 (24:47):
Tan?
Speaker 3 (24:47):
You want to go see some hockey tonight. Let's see
if we can make it happen for you. Luisa, you
gotta tell me what. One hundred men were asked, what
are some accessories a kid would put on their bike?
What if you think they're answer was there? Luisa? What
did you say? Streamers? Like ribbons? Yeah, that's a really
(25:09):
good guess, but unfortunately ribbons is the number three most
common answer, guys. I'm sorry, Louisa, Thank you, Hi Star.
Who's this? Drew? I literally just ripped these tickets out
of the hands of a sweet ten year old girl,
just so I could give them to you, all right
with a hundred Oh boy, yeah, I know. When one
(25:29):
hundred guys were asked, what are the accessories kids put
on their bikes? Sweet little Luisa just said ribbons, streamers,
which was the number three most common answer, Drew, but
not the top one. What do you think it is?
Speaker 7 (25:41):
Man?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
Okay, here we go.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I'm thinking light like.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Headlights, like well, you know, that's a smart one to
have on there. Unfortunately it's the number five most common answer. Sorry, Drew,
Hi star. Who's this Jim? Jim? I got a couple
of good guesses, but not the top answer yet. But
one hundred guys were asked what are the esseries kids
put on their bikes? So far? I've heard headlights number
five most common answer and ribbons number three biggest answer,
(26:07):
but not the top one. What do you think it is? Jim?
Speaker 7 (26:09):
How about a bell?
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Or how about a bell? Jim? Did you put uh?
Did you put anything on your bike as a kid
that you remember?
Speaker 6 (26:17):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Yeah, BELLI everything.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Probably everything. Yeah, we talked about it a minute ago.
Putting those playing cards on your spokes though. Man, nothing
cooler than uh, feeling like your bike is a motorcycle
for a hot minute. But Jim, Bell's that first thing.
Everybody ringing ding Ding's right on there. Bell's the top answer.
Speaker 5 (26:35):
Man.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Congrats, you go to the Griffins tonight.
Speaker 7 (26:36):
Awesome, Thank you?
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Heck yeah, playoff Action game number two. Let's go Griffins
tonight over there at Van Andelerena. Congrats Jim, thanks back
and Schmidty and I saw this yesterday. I was thinking
about your hubby who I know is a big Star
Wars fan, but I put it up on our Facebook
page at West Michigan Star yesterday on Star Wars Day,
(26:58):
May the fourth, I saw that they've actually in the
world Schmitty built a Star Wars speeder. Oh boy, this
thing is nuts. Okay, So this is actually from a
company called Volo Knots. And if you're thinking about like
personal flying machines, maybe online, you've seen ones that are
like multiple drones sitting underneath a person, you know where
(27:20):
it looks like they've got like either eight drones or
four drones with the big fans underneath it. Yea, and
they fly. Okay, that's that seems really cool. This doesn't
have any of that. It looks just like a speeder
from Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
No, it's way more legit.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
It has no fans, no flying blades. It's literally a
propulsion thing built in the center underneath it that shoots
you into the air. And this guy goes one hundred
and twenty five miles per hour on it.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
What a time to be alive.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
I just five one of these so bad. It looks like,
I mean your snowmobiling or jet skiing in the air people,
And I just I'm so excited for the future because
I feel like our lifetime we're getting in to see
some amazing stuff.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
We're finally getting the flying skateboard.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
From Sary flying skateboard I've been waiting for. Every time
they called something a hoverboard that wasn't actually Michael J.
Fox's pink coverboard from Back to the Future, I was
so mad. I was like, that's not legit, guys, get
us to the future already.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
I want the little bubble car from Jurassic Park. Why
share it in the gyro sphere. I want that to
be what people have to drive on one thirty one,
so you can't complain about blind spot.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
I mean, you figure, if you're safe from a treanosaurus
your face, you're safe from a fender bed.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
You're right, honestly, No, now that you said, I'd be
like one thirty one is worse than a tyrannosaurus.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Are there specific technologies? That's a good one right there.
I mean, of course you get the flying cars, you
get lightsabers in Star Wars. That seems kind of like
an antiquated, adiquitted futuristic thing. The one for me, Schmidti
that I want is very simple and with just two
simple statements here, Schmidti, this is all. This is all
I want to do. Scottie, beat me up. I just
(29:00):
want to be beamed up. I just want to teleport.
Everything in the world becomes so cool if you can
just teleport.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
There again, following the theme at Keep Us Off one
thirty one.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
What technology would you like to actually see become a
reality from one of your favorite shows or movies? Sit
us up on Facebook. It's We's Michigan Star. I can
always hang with us. If you're looking for some positivity
to start out the day, it's the best way to
do it. If I do say so myself. SCHMIDDI what
you got today? And feeling good? All right?
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I feel like this is for you because everyone is
calling him the ultimate Michigan Man. One of the commencement
speakers at University of Michigan's graduation over the weekend reignited
the belief this rivalry is real.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Dreams of seeing my team beat the book guys.
Speaker 8 (29:48):
Not what not?
Speaker 7 (29:50):
Why not hard?
Speaker 8 (29:53):
But four?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
And that was the speech. I mean, I'm sure y
things to say. But Pianos picked this up, Barschools picked
this up. I couldn't find the kid's name anywhere, but
there you go. University of Michigan responding, in case you
needed to know, it has been oney nine and eighty
two days since Ohio State beat US in football, not
(30:20):
that we're counting or anything. So even though I believe Green,
I will gladly give you that one. Wolverine fans, we.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Can all hate on Ohio State together. I feel like
that's that's a unity thing, all right, Benny, this is
just really cool, real fast. I want to shout out
the Mary free Bed Junior wheelchair basketball team because I
didn't realize this last month they were playing in a
huge tournament there in Virginia and they won the national championship. Yeah,
the Junior Pacers season didn't get off to a very
good start, but they were able to turn it around,
(30:48):
playing their best basketball as they went into this tournament.
Lee Montgomery, he's been coaching for thirty six years, a
Hall of Famer, and he still tells Fox seventeen he
just has so much fun watching these kids get to
do something they absolutely love.
Speaker 8 (31:04):
Oh my goodness, words, I can't explain a different group
of kids that I.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Deal with every year.
Speaker 8 (31:09):
To see the achievement and the happiness on their face,
it's like speechless. They can have that happy moment, they
can have that memory that can go on for the
rest of their life.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Now they're looking to go on and repeat. But congratulations
Mary free Bed and the Junior Pacers National champions. Pretty awesome.
So good feeling good comes at you a couple times today.
I always want to share things going on out there.
We'll do it again for you. It's tomorrow, six forty
five and nine twenty on Star Mack
Speaker 2 (31:36):
And Schmidty in the morning weekdays starting at six am
on Star one oh five point seven
