Speaker 1 (00:03):
Wake.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going and makes me laugh of it.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one o
five point seven, Good morning, Now you can commiserate with
the Lions fans.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
Yeah, you know what, I'm not fully ready to talk
about it, but I will tell you, guys, at least
I didn't stay up for the whole game.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
There's that.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Yeah, uh, what did I read this morning? Ben Johnson,
Aaron Glenn and Dan Campbell all lost in week one?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Yeah, together they ride all lost.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
But you know what, it's gonna make for a fun season, guys. Yeah,
if you're new to the show, I'm a big Bears
fand they looked so good in that first half last
night and super annoying. J. J.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
McCarthy had to step.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Up join us on the bottom of the NFC.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
I would tell you that's gonna be hard this year.
That is gonna be hard. It's gonna be an interesting
game on Sunday. You know, it's gonna be some to
watch movies.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
Well, an exceptionally awkward interview at the Venice Film Festival
is really gaining traction online. When an Italian film journalist
it seems like purposely excluded actress Io A Debris from
a question about the Me Too and Black Lives Matter movements.
So this is Io alongside co stars Julia Roberts and

(01:31):
Andrew Garfield, who were promoting their new film After the Hunt.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Can you repeat that? And I, with your sunglasses on,
I can't tell which of us you're talking to.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
So so the question was for Julia.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
And then now that the me too, Hera and the
lackly matters are done, what you have to expect in
Olivewood and what we lost if we lost something with
the politically correct Kira I done great.

Speaker 6 (01:58):
Yeah, I know that that's not for me, and I
don't know if it's purposeful, if it's about me, But
I just I'm curious. I don't think it's done.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I don't think it's done at all.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
I think maybe hashtags might not be used as much
or but I do think that there's work being done
by activists, by people every day that's beautiful, important work
that's not finished, that's really really, really active for a reason,
because this world is really charged.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Yeah, the journalist's name is Federica Palidoro, who has now
gone unlined to issue a statement after the backlash that
hit her when this went viral. Part of what she
wrote on her Instagram I find it striking that those
who unjustly accused me of racism and consider themselves custodians
of justice find acceptable violent language, personal attacks, and cyberbullying.

(02:50):
I would like to clarify that, rather than focusing on
the thoughtful responses of Io, Julia, and Andrew, the discussion
continues solely on how I should have phrased the question.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
It's really uncomfortable.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
And when you watch the video, Andrew literally turns around like,
is she seriously asking us this but specifically not asking
the only African American in the room.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, yeah, that's I mean to take off your sunglasses
and then specifically call out Julia and.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah, it's interesting video. I've got it up for you
at West Michigan Star dot com. President Trump's alleged fiftieth
birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein has just been revealed as
part of the investigation into more of what exactly went
on between the two, and the President is not happy.

(03:39):
So Representative Robert Garcia posted an image on X. It
features several lines of typewritten text and a drawing of
a nude woman and then the signature of Donald Now.
The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on
this note back over this summer, the White House railing
against this press Secretary Caroline Lovett posting on X. The

(04:01):
latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal proves this
entire birthday card story is false. As I've said all along,
it's very clear the President did not draw this picture
and that is not his signature. The legal team will
continue to aggressively pursue litigation. He actually brought a lawsuit
against the Wall Street Journal for false, malicious and defamatory language,

(04:24):
demanding ten billion dollars when this story first came out.
It goes to show this Epstein stuff is nowhere near done.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I mean, he definitely was upset by the accusation. What
did he say, I've never draw I've never written a
picture in my life, something along coaches.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, that's the House Oversight Committee, by the way, that
is doing this investigation. Finally, after Vell Kilmer getting the
Hollywood send off he so rightly deserves, the Late Actors
Celebration of Life finally went down. Yes, He did pass
back in April, but it took a while to get
this planned. At the sh Tau Marmont in West Hollywood,

(05:02):
everyone was there, Jack Black, Sean Penn, Kristin Wig, will Forte,
Darryl Hannah, some of his biggest directors, including Oliver Stone
and Jerry Bruckheimer were there, his children, even his very
first girlfriend, actress Mayor Winningham. The actually went to high
school together and starred in nineteen eighty five's One Too

(05:23):
Many with Michelle Pfeiffer. A lot of his artwork was
on display and some really touching tributes. It was really,
really well done.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Took a while to come together. It sounds pretty awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
I've got a bunch of highlights from that up with
your scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Let's get this day off to a great start. Chiall
were feeling good right now? On Startito Fi on Foyd seven,
It's Mack and Schmidi and this is just wild. The
story is gone international, but it starts in Peru. Vermanchi's
He's a low conquered Spaniel mix that belongs to a
Peruvian journalist, Carlos Zerati, and he's being credited with saving
Carlos and possibly his entire family after somebody threw dynamite

(06:02):
into their house. SMITTI, did you see this story? Unbelievable.
So there's video of the entire thing. He's the editor
of a media outlet there in Peru, so he believes
he was being targeted because of some of the stories
that they were running there, and it's all captured on
video as a man dressed in black comes and throws
a lit stake of dynamite into their family's courtyard. Well

(06:25):
that's when Manci's, this little cocker spaniel at one o'clock
in the morning, springs into action and on the video
you actually see him go up to the dynamite, paw
at it, then bite the fuse and put it out
before it could explode and potentially injure the entire family.
Police seeing the video were able to identify as suspect,

(06:47):
who is now in custody. The dog has some vocal
cord injuries because it bit that lit fuse, but otherwise
is gonna be okay. They're just saying Zerati and family
that they're thankful every day for their four legged hero.
Just unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
We have to give a big shout out to the
incredible students and staff a frame on Public Schools who
had a very special welcome back as they kicked off
the school year, honoring FHS custodian Charlotte, lady who just
beat cancer. Absolutely stunned when she opened the door to

(07:36):
walk into her first work day back and found the
entire school lining the hallways, cheering or on. It's a
great video. She's brought to tears. The principal is whooping
it up. So we just want to say, go Charlotte,
we love you. Got the video up for you on
our Facebook at West Michigan, Star.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Movies, Music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
It's the celebrity scoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Oh no, the Swifties have been scammed. It was promised
to be a weekend of music, fun and magical moments
that would celebrate everything Taylor Swift, but now it's being
called another fire festival. The event was called a Taylor Weekend,
organized apparently by fans having no association with Taylor Swift,
and it was going to go down in early October

(08:24):
in Orlando, Florida, But once it was called out by
one of her arastour dancers Cameron Saunders. Things started to
melt down, so the gathering was going to be October
third to the fifth. It promised a special lunch and
performance by Saunders the dancer, as well as a bunch
of Taylor themed parties. They even promised either a live

(08:47):
video or pre recorded message from Taylor. Saunder's got wind
of this and immediately went on social saying it's been
brought to my attention this Taylor Weekend is a thing.
They have been charging fans more than three hundred dollars
per ticket. I am not a part of this. I
have not been consulted about this. There is no meet
and greet, there's no luncheon. I'm really sorry to any

(09:07):
of you who paid money with such high hopes of
me being in attendance. But I have nothing to do
with this, and Taylor most certainly will not be there.
So I don't know what kind of fans we try
to pull this off, but it got taken down pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I wonder if it would have been a straight up,
you know, pull the rug theft, or whether or not
they would have tried to put together this really really yanky,
terrible event like they did with the Willie Walker themes
stuff back today.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Here's the good news for swifties. Target has announced that
they are going to open select stores across the nation
at midnight local time October third to sell copies of
the highly anticipated new Taylor album Life of a Show Girl.
It will also have three exclusive CD packages that include

(09:53):
an eight page lyrical booklet. So pretty stoked about that?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
How long has it been since you have heard from
Paula Dean?

Speaker 4 (10:02):
While the seventy eight year old former Food Network host
was joined by her sons and business partners for a
new interview with The Hollywood Reporter and it got awkward.
So over the weekend the new movie canceled. The Paula
Deane Story premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and she
sat down in an interview afterwards talking about how gut

(10:23):
wrenching it was following the N word controversy. But it's
the fact that her sons repeatedly stepped in to call
her out for things. When she talked about all the
business deals that had gone down and her life being ruined,
her son Bobby said, Mom, we did not lose it all.
That's not true. I disagree with all of that. It's

(10:44):
our families intact. We're alive, our business deals are thriving.
We did survive. Then she talked about how she was
thrown under the bus and none of that really happened,
her other son stepping in going, well, that's not totally true, mom,
you did say it. And then when asked about the
timeline of when she did all of these alleged awful
behaviors to some of her staff, she couldn't really remember.

(11:07):
Her sons called her out for that too, So I
think this could be a really interesting watch. The sons
did not want the documentary to happen. Paula did because
she felt like the whole story never got told. But
now her sons are like, you're lying about most of
what you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Cue every adults that has to now treat their parents
child a little bit, because it does get a little
awkward when your version of events and your versions of
histories are completely different.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Also, I think your boys are just trying to save
the business you have so far, girl, So I will
post the entire interview. You can see how cringey it was. Finally,
this is an interesting potential casting news Gigi hadid as
Rapunzel in the live action Tangled. The supermodel revealed in
a new interview with Vogue that she has auditioned for

(11:55):
the lead role on this remake before unfortunately the project
was on hold indefinitely. She's also considering some movie roles
in films, like some New Oceans eleven type things. She said,
just being a supermodel is not what I want to
have my career known as. And she is looking at

(12:17):
all sorts of ideas. I wonder what that. I actually
saw a picture of her next to the Rapunzel Entangled,
and it looked really good.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Well, it just goes to show you that if your
parents are extremely rich and you're extremely good looking, the
world of possibilities are endless for you.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Schmid We will see.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Speaking to my Disney fans, that next live action remake
is Mowana that opens in July.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
All of your celepscoop at West Michigan.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Start off U, I get more into you. It's Mac
and Schmidty, and you know it could be a better
morning for you.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I'm sure, Schmia, I think it could be a better
morning for a lot of us. Let's be honest, but yeah,
it was pretty hard to watch my Bears lose in
the fashion that they did last night against Minnesota after
such a good first half. But as I was sitting
there last night, I thought to myself, it's got to
be a really interesting experience for those of us who
are out of market fans.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
That's what I'm calling it. For those of you not aware.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
My dad grew up in Chicago, so we were all
raised as Chicago sports fans. I'm a Pubs fan, I'm
a Bears fan, I'm a black Hawks fan, I'm a
Bulls fan.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
And it can be really.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Tough when you're surrounded by Detroit people. And it's really
interesting in Michigan because if you travel forty five minutes south,
you're in Bear country.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
You're in Chicago country. I mean you're in market.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
For all of the games on TV, you every bar,
everything is Chicago themed. So I posted on TikTok check
in if you are an out of market fan, I
would love to know who you root for and where
you're watching from, because I think there are a ton
of us now, especially in the millennial and gen z
age group, because we move so often, jobs, family, marriage, whatever.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
So I had Taylor check in.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
She is a Stealers fan living in Illinois, but totally
is a Bills fan in Kentucky.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
That goes over well, I'm sure, yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Colleen, I am a Saints fan living right here in
Grand Rapids. And then Nicole said, Dallas Cowboys unfortunately, and
I'm from Albuquerque. My dad started me on this train
and I'm only staying on out of spite.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
You know, the Cowboys definitely have fans all over the place,
remnants of their nineties glory days, it feels like, but man,
they let you hear it wherever they're.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
At for s and it's interesting because then you think
college teams, it's very similar. Yes, Michigan State fans travel well.
And if you're talking the Midwest, I think every major
city you go to in the Midwest has a Michigan
State bar. I know where it is in Madison, in Chicago,
in Milwaukee, in Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
And I find it.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Really interesting because I'm looking through this and it can
be hard, especially if you don't necessarily find fans of
your team and your city. But that doesn't matter when
it comes to your mental health. There is a new
study out that watching sports, whether it's it's a local
team or you're watching from far away actually gives you
a better chance of no depression. It cuts down on

(15:08):
your stressful feelings and increases your dopamine even if you're
watching by yourself. So i'd read this in the past,
where you know it's a very social kind of group
gathering that makes you feel good. You can be couch
rotting on your own watching one of your favorite teams
out halfway across the country, maybe from where they're at,

(15:30):
and it's really good for your brain. People in this
research group said they were more satisfied with life, they
felt life was more worthwhile, and were less lonely than
people who don't watch any kind of sporting events.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Are they only dealing with fans that watch winning games?
Because I gotta tell you, my mental health is so
much different than this after I watch my dad.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
I bring this up because I feel like the thing
you always hear is like, I'm yelling at the Lions,
it's just going to be a trash year, They're terrible,
blah blah. But this is saying the exact opposite, Like
whether your team wins or loses, the fact that if
you win, you're realizing people all around the country are
watching and excited and if you lose, you can kind
of share in that, like because you know so many

(16:15):
other people are watching and posting about it.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah, I don't know, because yeah, I go silent for
like twenty four hours after a big Michigan loss like that.
Don't want to talk to anyone. So maybe the time
and I can't go on the internet, So maybe it's
that time.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
We've gone to a game out of market.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Yeah. I lived in Vegas for years, so I traveled
to lots of different places to see Michigan play.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
What about the Lions? Like, did you worry in Vegas?

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I was a big Detroit fan.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
You have like the flag and everything. You let people know.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I fly my w flag for the Cubs, and I
had a lot of neighbors that came over and they
were like, hey, us too, Like you whisper it, You're
not really sure, but hey, no matter where you're at
or who your team is, it's good for your mental health.
And there's your Tuesday takeaway everybody. I'm just here for
the good science.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Well that's your wives, gentlemen. That's all I'm saying. I'm
doing this for my mental health things.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
The wives are worse and those are my kind of women.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Jimitty is so salty starting a fine point seventy shit
every week a little event session from my wonderful co
host Schmitty is it is salty, Schmitty, And you brought
up our wonderful code of conduct and ethics training.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
I'm curious if other companies do something similar, because we
have like three different kinds of training. We've got the
Code of Ethics, We've got an FCC, we've got an
EAS just because of the kind of different job that
we do.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
But man, no matter what kind of training.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
It is, you guys, why does it have to be timed?
Why does it say you know, like you can't just
zoom through it. You know it's gonna be the exact
same questions, the exact same scenarios, the exact same answers
on the quiz from the last five years of this testing.
All they need is your little signature on the dotted line,

(17:55):
so if you do something wrong, they can fire you.
I'm fine, I know what we're doing. You know what
we're doing. Don't make me wait three and a half
minutes on a question that I know is a repaper
last year.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
You know, Michelle, my wife, Michelle makes these things for
a living. That's what she does. She's an instructional designer
and so she makes all these modules slippers, and so
we've talked about this before about how she has to
institute those specific things where like a certain amount of
time must pass before the person can go on the
page about a law. No, it's it's to make sure

(18:28):
that the company has provided you with enough time to
actually absorb the information that they're trying to get to you.
It's another guard against lawsuits. MITTI. But I think the
funny thing about it is she's telling me this and
I'm like, you know that everyone hates you for this? Right?
She goes, Oh, I hate myself? Are you kidding? Go Dalky.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Moody's music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
It's the celebrity scoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Well, I know football fans tend to be very superstitious,
but even your coaches are as well. This is a
really great interview. Holly Campbell, wife to Lions, had coached
Dan Campbell sitting down with Local four in Detroit for
an exclusive interview, talking about a superstition that started shortly
after the couple's first date that they have now completely ended,

(19:19):
which could be good news for the Lions.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
Our first movie date was Armageddon, and I don't know
if you remember the scene with the guy he's like,
he's like goes crazy and he's like, do a good job,
do a good job, do a good job. So I
started when Dan was playing college. I started help before.
I'd be like, do a good job. And then so
I've said do a good job to him at before
every game for like twenty something years until we were

(19:43):
here and we were losing so much, and then I
forgot to say it one day and that was our
first one. Oh so I don't say anything now we
don't do a good time, but it took twenty five years.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
I'll have to figure that out.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
So I think Holley is the one that we really
have to thank here. Also, fun little stat guys Dan Campbell,
Aaron Glenn, and Ben Johnson all.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Lost in week one.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
It was a brutal one. Fun facts Matty Armaged was
also my first date movie ever.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
It's an interesting pick.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Britney Spears is once again concerning fans over her social media,
the singer sharing an update on her love life the
other day, uploading a video of her dancing alone in
the bathroom of a sushi restaurant, talking about how horrible
the date was going. But it's just another one of

(20:31):
those videos where it's like, my gosh, is she doing
all right? And if you believe an insider talking to
the Daily Mail in a news story out she is not.
The pop star is allegedly having an episode right now.
According to the insider, just not sure if we're going
to see her battle throughat the way she has for years.
She is not doing well and loved ones are really

(20:53):
terrified for her future. She started sparking concerns with some
videos back in August, and ever since the concernaritorship has ended.
They said, it's just really been an up and down
roller coaster and as much as family and friends want
to help her, this insider says, nobody can really do anything.
It just ends up being a never ending circle that's

(21:15):
very hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah, that was the thing about breaking the conservativeship. I
think everybody agreed that her dad, Jamie should not have
been the one that was in charge of it. But
at the same time, yeah, Brittany needs help.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
But who knows And this is going to be a
major debut Will Ferrell is coming to Netflix for the
first time ever. He is going to debut a television
comedy and his first scripted series for the streaming giant.
It is currently untitled, but it's a ten part comedy
described as a ted Lasso esque feel goods series. He

(21:51):
plays Lannie the Hawk Hawkins, a legendary figure from the
world of golf who's larger than life persona promises plenty
of life laughs.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
He's going to be joined.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
By Molly Shannon and Fortune Fimester, with some really big
names going to be announced later on. This project was
actually first greenlit in twenty twenty three, so they've been
working for a couple of years now. He says he
can't wait for it to premiere on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
On Netflix interesting, I was going to say, isn't Owen
Wilson doing a very similar golf style thing on Apple TV? Yeah,
I'm pretty sure he's got a show or like that
sounds very similar.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
All right, all of your slip scoop at West Michigan
Star dot.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Com, Becken Schmedde looking to hook you up with playoff
baseball Right now. Is our West Michigan white Caps back
in the playoffs for the first time. Since twenty eighteen.
It gets underway tonight against Lake County Captains before coming
back to West Michigan on Thursday.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
All right, Game two is Thursday night at MCU Ballpark.
We've got Battle of the Sexes and the number one
answer scoring you tickets. One hundred men surveyed named something
that has links?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Something that has links?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Uh, who's going golf?

Speaker 4 (22:53):
That's what I was thinking to every man six one, six,
four five eight, one oh five seven. We are looking
for the number one answer, and caller seven, you've got
the shot. One hundred men surveyed named something that has links?
Four five eight, one oh five seven. Number one answer.
You're going to see our West Michigan white Caps with
Star Win oh five point seven?

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Good morning, Star. Who's this? Mike? Mike? Where you came
from today?

Speaker 5 (23:17):
Beta?

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Mike and Ada. A hundred gentlemen like yourself, Mike were
asked to name something that has links. What did they
put as their top answer? There? Mike h links?

Speaker 4 (23:29):
I'm like a bike. Chaine or Chane is the first
thing that popped into my ead, Shane.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Was the first thing that popped into your head? See,
the first thing that popped into my head is it's
you know, eight fifteen in the morning was sausages sausage lakes. Oh,
definitely good. Yeah, that was definitely what popped into my head.
But you know what, I'm I'm not the person guessing,
and it's a good thing because Shane was the top answer.
Mike has awesome. You're going to see our West Michigan

(23:54):
white Caps in playoff action Thursday night as they take
on the Lake County Captains. Congrats, thank you, that's great,
Jamar and too. It's Mack and Schmitty and I want
to talk about love Schmitty specifically the weirder, unique ways
that you feel like your significant other shows you they
care about you.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
So I love these conversations because I adore learning what
people's love language is.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Well, this is not what I want you to think of.
Is mine and.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Michelle se fall into one of the categories?

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Probably it does. I think I don't know a ton
about the love languages, but I think acts of service
is one, right, yep, something like that.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
Where it's an affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time,
and physical touch.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
I like all of those things. But they so I
bring this out because I had to get a new
lawnmower I buy. I bought an old, old lawnmower when
I first moved into my house five six years ago
for just a few hundred bucks, and it's lasted me
this long, but it finally went and so I did
it again. I bought another super old and cheap lawnmower.
If it isn't at least a decade old, it's not
for me. So that's what I was doing yesterday. And

(24:55):
I had to drive all over the place. It was
one of those things where I found a neighbor who
refurbishes them, and I went to get it and I
had to call them. I'm doing all of this busy
work trying to get this lawnmore going, and the couple
is kind enough to bring it to my house. We
negotiate the deal, and part of it is they're going
to deliver it to my home last night. This whole
thing takes like three plus hours and I'm going back

(25:16):
and forth and they get there. It's this older couple
and they start talking a little bit because they live
nearby and they just celebrated their sixty fifth anniversary. Super beautiful, right,
So they back it all out and I'm doing all
of this. Meanwhile, one of the things I do before
I mow our lawn, which hadn't been mowed in almost
two weeks since my mower broke, is I have to
go around and clean up all the daying dog tip

(25:37):
pooda yunny, all the dog poo's got to get cleaned up.
And now we have two dogs, and so it's basically
two weeks of this just growing through the tall grass,
and there is wait time to clean up, lot to
clean up. So these people are in my driveway and
they're backing it out and I see my wife out
of the corner of my eye walking around. This is
the job she never does. I'm always the one who's
doing this. She's walking around and she's picking up.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
She's doing the cleanup. That's nice.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
And uh and I go, hey, honey, thank you. And
the guy goes, your wife picking up the pooh. I'm like, yeah,
he goes, it's a good woman right there.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
People always point it out right, probably an active service,
that's an And I'm like, that's love.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
And I just say, you know, thank you so much.
Because I was so stressed out going back and forth
dealing with all this that when as soon as I
started doing it, and I'm like, oh, that's just one
last thing I have to do. I could just mow
and go inside and be done. Yeah, I love you.
I gave her the dagon, the beast foot and rob spitting,
because there you go, there's my love language. Physical touch
of the guests.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Well that's nice.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Yeah, what about for you? Just Chris do weird things?

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Not weird?

Speaker 4 (26:34):
But he always makes me a separate meal if he
knows it's something I'm not gonna eat. Really like, I'm sorry,
I'm a grown toddler, but like the kids love steak
and bacon and pork, all of the meats I don't eat,
and he always will have like a seasoned chicken breast,
or he'll make me something with turkey or ground beef.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
He spoils you.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Out of his way, and I am like just so
so dang lucky for it, because I tell him all
the time. I'm like, I'm so sorry you married me
because you really had the chance as someone who would
have loved your foodie self. And I'm over here having
an uncrustable for dinner still on.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
A five point seven absolutely beautiful star toe art day
out there. Let's make it even nicer though. Feeling good
right now? What's happened to SCHMIDDI?

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Well, let's talk about the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Quite a win for them in a week one, But
I want to talk off the field. A lot of
times when NFL players show up pregame, it is a
fashion statement, and Bill's quarterback Josh Allen definitely made one
with a different kind of ball cap.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Fans immediately noticed what exactly is that?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Well, it is the first in a line of nine
ball caps Josh will be wearing, designed by patients at
the Ohshi Children's Hospital. In fact, this specific cap was
designed and illustrated by five year old Jackson, and each
cap he'll wear, a different one for every Buffalo Bills
home game, will eventually be auctioned off, with proceeds going

(28:01):
to the Patricia Allen Fund that helps Level one pediatric
trauma programs, pediatric intensive care units, cancer research, and nick U's.
It's all part of this incredible idea that came from
new era designing hats to help kids in children's hospitals.
Jackson so excited, and now we'll be watching Buffalo every

(28:22):
home game to see which amazing little designer will have
a hat next, my favorite part of this when you
look at the video the amount of comments that are like, Hi,
I'm a Patriots fan. I love Josh Allen. Hey Jets
fan here, Josh Allen is the best. Hi, We're in Detroit,
but man, you can't top Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
He is just a good dude.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
That's I mean, the hat's kind of cool.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Ak, It's really cool, and he's gonna have nine different ones.
I'm really excited a j Bada.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
These are just those wild coincidence and coincidences in life
that you just feel like almost shouldn't be real. So
Daniel Duran lives in Canada, there in Alberton, and back
on July thirty first, his life change forever as his
family's home completely burned down, writing on social media, as
some of you may know or have heard, overnight, my
family's house in Alberton caught on fire. My brave son

(29:12):
Gibson smelled the fire at two am and was able
to get my mom, sister, and the animals out quickly
and safely. We are so lucky that everyone is okay.
Went on to thank the fire, the firefighters as well
as the ems. But the home was a complete loss.
Destroyed by this fire. Well, flash forward to this past

(29:34):
weekends when he actually won a brand new house. Yeah,
drew in one, a fifty dollars raffle that had fourteen
thousand tickets in it. He was holding one, and he
said he was lying on his couch when he got
a phone call just this past week and on the

(29:55):
other end was the executive director of Big Brothers Big
Sisters with the news of a lifetime said at first,
I didn't believe it. Then he said, I thought it
might have been a prank call, but it wasn't. After
he gave me all the details, he called me back
just to make sure I understood it was not a prank.
So for this dad who's been through just an incredible
amount of loss, it almost doesn't feel real to have

(30:18):
come through with something just that coincidental. Wow, amazing, fourteen
thousand tickets, pretty wild, feeling good coming through for you
every day to tell you about awesome things happening in
our world. Let's do it tomorrow six forty five and
nine twenty here on Star Mack and Schmidt in the
morning weekday starting at six am on Star one oh
five point seven
