each of you. Well, it'salways good to hear for most of you.
The rest of you. I justread that's that's good to hear for
most of you. Eight six sixtriple eight fifty four to forty nine or
(00:24):
Jimmy Lakey, that's my name atiHeartMedia dot com. All right, there's
a lot of election news going tobe happening over the next several weeks,
has been for the last several weeksas well. Of course, many seats
for Congress. We talked about thatone seat majority of the Senator Speaker Mike
Johnson has right now, and soyou can't afford to lose any if you
(00:45):
are a Republican. One of thedistricts that should be safe in Colorado's congressional
District five that is being vacated bya retiring Doug Lamborn. And now the
ballot has been set for the Junetwenty fifth primary, and that will be
mono mono Dave Williams versus Jeff Crankor Jeff Crank versus Dave Williams, however
you want to choose to say that. But on the hotline, by the
(01:07):
way, a note of order.I have reached out to Dave Williams a
couple of times via the mission numberthat I have text we usually text on.
Have not received a reply. ButDave is welcome on the show because
I try to give everybody equal spaceon the program for conversation. But on
the hotline is Jeff Crank. Heis a candidate that you will see in
CD five and he'll be on yourballot June twenty fifth. Jeff Crank,
(01:30):
Welcome back to the show, sir. How are you hey, Jimmy welcome.
Thank you so much for having me. I appreciate it. Good talking
to you. We're going to talkto you. Let's dive in here.
Over the weekend, the House ofRepresentatives did a couple of things, a
ninety something billion dollars of four andaid. Most of that the Lion's share
goes to Ukraine, some of thatgoes to Israel, some to Taiwan.
(01:51):
Your thoughts on that, some Republicansvoted no. Many Republicans voted no.
A lot of Republicans voted yes, though kind of divided the party. Which
part of the party do you fallinto when it comes to this package that
came in over the weekend. Well, I support aid to Israel, but
I tell you what, I amgrowing increasingly weary of sending aid to Ukraine
(02:12):
without an audit and looking at wherethat money is going. So, you
know, on an overall package, and as I understand that, they voted
on it in separate votes, sothey voted on the Israel piece and the
Taiwan piece and all of that, and so you know, some of it
I would have supped. We haveto support our friends in Israel, they're
under attack. That piece I wouldabsolutely have supported, But much of the
(02:36):
rest of it I just wouldn't havebeen able to support without, you know,
without some assurances on that there's anend gain and that sort of thing.
In Ukraine, Yeah, I claimVladimir Selenski as it dependent on my
taxes this year. That's kind ofhow I feel about Selenski. Yeah,
it's again, I'm not a youknow, I'm not afraid of helping Selenski
or Ukraine and Putin's bad. Iget all that stuff, but there's got
(02:57):
to be some kind of a checkin balance and bou reason. How long
do we do this and we justkeep doing this forever? At which point
does Vladimir have to move out ofthe basement. That's kind of the question.
I have another question that I have, and nobody seems to be asking
this question, is we seem tobe very concerned about the Ukrainian border and
Putin and the Russians there, butI don't see as much discussion and fervor
(03:20):
about solving the problem at the UnitedStates a border. Give me your thoughts.
Why are we more concerned about theUkrainian border than our own border.
Yeah, let's just be honest,Jimmy, that should be the bill that
everybody is Congress is working on rightnow. That is the bill they should
be spending all their time on,and until they get that fixed, they
should not be spending time on anythingelse. Now, let's also be real
(03:44):
here, it doesn't take an Actof Congress to fix the border. It
takes an act from Joe Biden. He's the president. He can execute the
laws that have been given him.He just chooses not to because he likes
the open border, and he likesthe sentinel and the illegal flooding into the
border. So we need to getthat fixed. That should be number one
priority. It's going to be mynumber one priority when I get to Congress.
(04:08):
Jeff Crank is a candidate for CDfive. He will be mono imno
face to face with Dave Williams' opponentin the Republican primary in Congressional District five.
That primary is coming up June totwenty fifth. It's rapidly approaching.
A quick question, Marjorie Taylor Greenseems to be getting at least two friends
as say they'd have a motion tovacate the chair and that Speaker Johnson must
(04:30):
be replaced Marien Boberts on the programlast week from Colorado, she says bad
timing, not a good move here. What is Jeff frankstand do you think
is to think Speaker Johnson needs tobe vacated or should he keep his job?
No, I do not believe SpeakerJohnson needs to be vacated. I
did not support vacating Kevin McCarthy either. I think it's foolhardy for Republicans to
(04:53):
play in the Democrats, hands votewith Democrats to vacate a chair and and
then somehow think that best progress. It's not. Look, Mike Johnson is
the speaker. He's not perfect. He's not making great decisions even and I
wouldn't vote for a lot of thebills that he's bringing up right now.
(05:14):
But he is the Speaker of theHouse, and we ought to vote against
the bills as Republicans that we seeare a problem. But to vacate the
chair without a plan like we didthe last time, that's foolhardy and it
should not happen. Jeff Cranke myguest again running on CD five. Jeff,
you have one opponent. He happensto also be the state party chairperson,
(05:35):
which has been controversy a little ofitself that he's running for Congress.
That set aside. When you arecampaigning and on the campaign trail, you're
saying, hey, you're going tohave two names on the battlet there's not
going to be like some of theseraces have three or four people, but
just just mono imano. What areyou telling the people of CD five that
separates Jeff Crank from your opponent?Well, on politics, it's pretty easy.
(05:58):
I'm going to actually work to geta lot to get Republicans elected as
opposed to going out and attacking Republicans. That's what Dave Williams is spending his
time doing, is attacking other Republicans. And he's raising money right now from
Grandmas across Colorado and then using thatmoney to go attack other Republicans instead of
(06:18):
using that money to go and goafter Democrats and win seats back. So
on the politics, that's the biggestthing. I'm going to go out and
try and build our party and winmore seats in Colorado and in the US
Congress so that we can build biggermajorities. That's the first thing. Second
thing is, look, I'm gonnaI'm going to go there and I am
(06:40):
going to make the border my numberone priority, getting control of this border
and getting control of spending. Andwe just have to do those two things
have to as Americans. We haveto examine the size and scope of the
federal government and make real change there. The problem that I love quote grassroots.
I use air quotes there because everybodyde finds themselves as grassroots. But
(07:04):
the probably a lot of people haveis they send people to Washington they say
things in the campaign trail, andthen they go to Washington, d C.
And they start doing some of thethings that are frustrating, like the
Mike Johnson stuff. Something for you. Why are you doing that, Mike?
That's not exactly what you thought youwould be. How does Jeff Crank
avoid falling into that trap or thatpattern of saying one thing on the campaign
(07:25):
trail and being a different person atWashington, d C. Well, you
have to be true to your convictions, and you have to be true to
who you are. You know me. You and I did some radio together,
and I think you know me tobe a person of conviction. Many
times I stood up against Republicans andcalled out Republicans. I remember some county
commissioners that played some funny ballot stuffdown here in Opaso County to get turn
(07:50):
limits past, and I went afterhim because I thought it was wrong to
do that. And so you haveto look at my record. I'm not
going to go out and recklessly goafter Republicans, but I'm going to hold
folks accountable. And the other waythat you do that, I think is
you come back home and you makesure that you come home on the weekends
and that you're going to church atyour church and you know, in Colorado
(08:13):
and not out there with the lobbyists, and you just you have to really
guard yourself against, you know, getting too inside the bout way and hanging
out with those folks and those peoplebeing the influencers over you. Jeff Crank,
candidate for Congress, the Republican primarycandidate the Modoi Moto Dave Williams versus
(08:33):
Jeff Crank June the twenty fifth andCD five. Both candidates always welcome to
the show. Jeff has accepted myinvitation every time I've extended one. Hopefully
the opponent will as well. JeffCrank, if someone wants to learn more
about you, donate, get involvedin your campaign. Have you a question
for you? Where do they go? Yeah? Absolutely, Jimmy. First
of all, you can go toJeff Crank for Congress dot com and you
(08:54):

win this into and why it's importantto folks in northern Colorado is this uniforse.
This is about a party being unifiedinstead of divided. This is about
a party not running around calling everybodyat Rhino but going out and trying to
get folks. Jeff Crank for Coloradodot Com. That's his website. Check
