He seated, my friends, noneed to stand while I walk into the

(00:02):
room. Glad to have you here. Jimmy Lakey is my name. How
are you? Everybody's good? Goodto have you here. It's a bright
and early morning in the glorious stateof Colorado. On this glorious state the
Lord has made. Glad to haveyou here on the radio show. Lots
of news we're going to cover throughoutthe next several hours. Of course,
at ten am, Mountains Davey MountainStandard. We're Mountain Standard time. Now

(00:26):
we got to make way for thebig dogs of talk radio, Clay Travis
and Buck Sexton. But at themeantime you're stuck with me, the little
chee Wawa of talk radio. Andmy name is Jimmy Lakey. Good to
have you here on the show.Let me bring in my first guest to
the morning. His name is JohnHolsman. He's the author of the book
called The Last Best Hope, aHistory of American Realism, also the president

(00:49):
of the John Holtzman Enterprises, prominentglobal political risk consulting group. You might
have read his work in everything fromthe Heill Newspaper in Washington, Aspen,
Rome, and also various outlets inNew Delhis So he is a global commentator.
He's on the hotline with me andJohn Holsman on the hotline, Len,

(01:11):
we hit the right button. Ithink I can do this, Yes
I can. John Holsman, Welcomeback to the show, sir. How
are you. It's great to beback, Jimmy, good to have you.
Let me dive into this thing. The International Criminal Court of the ICC
as we call it. The KareemKhan, who chairs that court, has
said we've got to go prosecute BenjaminNett and Yahoo, the Israeli Defense Minister.

(01:34):
President Biden says, that's disgusting.Who came up with that thought?
Give me your I guess take onthis whole situation that the international community seems
to be obviously blatantly turning against Israel. Well, this, Jimmy, is
precisely why we don't join the InternationalCriminal Court, and why we voted down

(01:55):
joining the League of Nations in nineteennineteen. This is a different way of
looking of the world. Wilsonian leftistswho say what matters is that you have
a law degree and you're on theleft, and we all should do what
they say. Let's look at thisinternational Criminal Court ruling in some detail.
First of all, it's made netYahu, who was engaged in all kinds

(02:15):
of political difficulties in his own coalition. It's made Benny Gants, his chief
rival, feel sorry for him,who called this disgusting and said this was
nothing other than anti Semitism. Thefounding statute of the ICC is that it
only investigates crimes against humanity when thecountry involved doesn't investigate them and hasn't been

(02:37):
informed of something the court brings up. And so Khn broke all the rules
of his own court. Rather thansaying to Israel, we're considering investigating war
crimes and giving the Israelis a chanceto do so first before the court intervened,
they skipped all these legal steps andwent right to the end and did
what they were fantasizing about doing, which is inditing bb net Yaow in the

(03:00):
hopes of stopping him continuing to fightHamads. This is blatant politics and power
by the back door. The problemis that we can't let little Aputians,
who don't have an army, don'thave a government, don't have political legitimacy,
tie us up. The only peoplewho can do that are ourselves.
And this is exactly why we shouldnever join the criminal court and allow Amal

(03:22):
Clooney and the rest of the lattedrinking lefties to make up rules, then
break those rules and do precisely whatthey want. It's an absolute farce of
the matter. John Holsmins is myguests, and I'll give you his websites.
I'll tell you about his new bookhere in just a moment as well.
The United States has condemned what theICC has said said it was disgusting.

(03:43):
Joe Biden said that himself. Butwe have some people to say that
the administration is not showing enough supportof Israel. Also kind of stabbing Benjaminett
and Yahoo in the back. Whatdoes your take on that? Well,
I think that to me, that'sright. I mean he said the right
thing. Yes, but after talkingout of both sides of his mouth for
the last four weeks. And thereason Biden is at some times seeming to

(04:06):
support Israel and frankly at other timesseeming to support Jumas is that he's got
a problem within his own political party. A small group of the party and
four and five Americans consistently support Israel. In the Gods of war. That
number doesn't move. However, manykids in Columbia protest on the lawn and
want their soy milk, that numberdoesn't move. Four out of five still

(04:28):
support the Israelis. But within theDemocratic Party, Biden can't have young people
not turned out to vote, andthe joke is the only two state solution.
Joe Biden is interested in her thestates of Michigan and Wisconsin, both
of which he might lose if hewere seen as being too pro Israeli.
But on the other hand, eightypercent of the American people are pro Israeli.

(04:48):
And the problem with trying to beeverything to everybody is you end up
being nothing to anyone. And soBiden has fallen between tools here. He's
neither managed to mollify the kids aregoing to pro sess to the Democratic Convention
who are pro Hamas without knowing anyhistory whatsoever. But he also has alienated
Jewish Americans, many of whom havevoted traditionally for the Democratic Party, and

(05:11):
this is why he finds himself behindin both Michigan and Wisconsin. The Voice
of John Holtsman, his latest bookis called The Last Best Hope of American
History of American realism, John veryquickly, how does this all play out
there? Israel is still in theengage in a battle in the Gaza region.
You have sympiss I guess they havelimited their work into Rafa because the

(05:36):
United States has asked them to.How does this all play out of the
next couple of weeks in your estimation? Well, David Ignatius for the Washington
Post, who has the Ear ofthe Great and the Good, is leaking
a story today saying that they havereached a deal between the buying people and
the net Yahoo government. That indeedIsrael will go into Rafa, but in

(05:58):
a more limited manner instead of sendingtwo divisions in which is what they were
planning to do. They'll try totake out some of the infrastructure, find
the hostages, find the Hamas leadership, and there's a series of rockets from
Rapa that can hit Israel up toabout its midpoint, and that they will
have these very specific targets. Butrather than eradicate Amas and really send everybody

(06:19):
in there, doing this in amuch more targeted way, and as a
result, in return, the Bidenpeople will not condemn them. And so
that seems to be where we're going, so the fighting will continue and we'll
go into Rapa, but in amore targeted way than the Israelis would have
liked. The voice of John Holtsman. John, give us a quick thumbnail
of the book, The Last BestHope, A History of American Realism and

(06:40):
where's it debatable? Well, Jimmy, thank you for giving me a chance
for the shameless plug. You canfind it on Amazon everywhere. It's been
a bestseller there. And what thebook is is, rather than talking doom
and bloom all the time, thisis saying this is how we've done it
in the past foreign policy, unitingthe Jeffersonian and Jacksonian base of the Republican
Party on realist principles of patriotism, sovereignty, and america first view of how

(07:03):
to conduct foreign policy, worrying aboutwhat's best for American citizens and not I'm
all cloney. The name of thebook is called The Last Best Hope,
A History of American Realism. Youheard is on Amazon, all the places
fine books are sold. It's byJohn Holsman. John. I know you're
also very active on the web.You write different columns and different papers for

(07:24):
different websites. Where's the best place, folks to find you outside of the
book. Again, the name ofthe book the Last Best Hope History of
American Realism. Where do they findyou? I think the best place is
the sub stack, which is justJohn Holtzman dot substack dot com, which
is where all my writings and thinkingkind of ends up in the end from
all over the planet, and thesun really doesn't set on our work,

(07:46):
which is why I have the bestjob in the world. John Holsman,

from Italy, I could easier forthe community it is, and for my
charity work. All right, goodto have you here on the radio show.
My friend's glad to have you. It's a glorious day the Lord has

(08:28):

broadcasts a show to you had peteredout. It had not done well,
but they got it all fixed. It's one of those reasons than you call.
It doesn't matter if you're a bigtime radio guy or just the average

(08:48):
it's all automated. They said,I'm sorry, there's an outage in
your area. We'll have it fixedvery soon. And yeah, that was

Twitter tweeter or ex or whatever youcall that now, and even if I

(09:33):

is because it moves so quickly.Suddenly my tweets get buried out there.
