(00:00):
Seeing observation. Walking back to theprogram, as Donald Trump walked into the
arena last night, I noticed andthat maybe you did too, that he
was surrounded this time by all malesecurity guards, big beefy guys. As
opposed to Saturday in Pennsylvania, youhad the diversity, equity and inclusion of
(00:21):
portly women that were trying to block. They did their best. I mean,
if you're short, you're short,right, that's genetics. But the
objective is they form what's called acocoon around I mean, he had ladies
that were very not very big.Uh well, they were big one way
but not the other way, andthey were trying to surround him and they
couldn't cover you form a human shieldaround him. Again, it's the Secret
(00:46):
Service is gonna have some answering todo, and I think it becomes more
and more obvious. And coming upon the program this morning, we will
have We're gonna bring back on mysecurity expert, Chuck Andrews back on the
show today. You don't want tomiss this very smart fella and a very
very very very smart fella, andhe's going to help us answer the question
(01:06):
of how did you get that guy? How's I got on the roof I
think I think the timeframe is twentysix minutes. The guy was roaming around.
Chuck Andrews security expert, will beon the program also. Michael Letz
is on the hotline right now.Michael lets Is, We've chat with him
very often about law enforcement issues.Michael, I want to welcome you to
the Riff. Let me hit theright button. It's my fault. I
(01:27):
got to hit the right buttons.I get excited doing the show and then
I know, I get very excitedwhen I do the show, and then
I hit the wrong buttons. It'sjust my it's my add Michael, Welcome
back to the show. Michael letson the hotline. How are you,
sir? I'm doing great. Alwaysa privilege to be with you. It
is a privilege to be with you. You're one of my first security guys
(01:48):
up this morning. Help me understandhow did this shooter get up on that
rooftop in Pennsylvania on Saturday and evidentlythe timeline now shows that he had been
identified for the last identification by thepolice. He was roaming around and on
the rooftop for twenty six almost thirtyminutes. Help me understand what happened.
(02:09):
Well, there's only one explanation, and that is total abject failure by the
security detail. But quite frankly,it appears to be much worse. And
the reason why it appears to bemuch worse is obviously we had a CAA
on which is a counter sniper attwo of Twoca's on the barn we call
(02:32):
the barns. You know, therewas closest to Trump and he had him
insight, He had him locked in, scoped in and request he could tell
it was a rifle, and heasked permission to engage, and permission was
denied. That is unheard of untilit was giving to him permission to engage
(02:55):
forty three seconds after the request, which had allowed him to get it off
three shots. I don't know howyou're going to explain that one. Just
no way you can explain that,Gene, who does he request permission from
it? And the fact that hedoesn't have protecting the president any president,
you don't have permission to shoot ona shoot on side if you need to,
(03:17):
that's shocking. But who does herequest? Is at the head of
Trump's detail? Is he fling DC? What's he doing? Well, here's
what you have a special engine. You have a Secret Service agent in charge
supervisor that's there on the scene. That is who you would have requested from.
But your raise a very good point. Let me tell you the way
it is typically done, because I'veactually done with the Secret Service. Typically,
(03:40):
would you see it, You engagedimmediately. There is no request for
assistance or request for permission to engage. So the fact that they had to
ask him to request now I realizedhe was not a Secret Service agent.
This c Let me back up alittle bit. Make year listeners understand what's
going on. Trump did not havethe full package presidential package that is only
(04:05):
given to the incumbent presidents, peoplewho would occupy the title at the moment.
The next tier under that he isformer presidents, and the tier under
that would be a dignitary's ambassador's ECCEA. He had the next year under he
had former presidential details. Understand thatthe big difference between the presidential package and
(04:27):
the former presidents is the number ofpersonnel and access to technology, you know,
drones, helicopters, etc. Sothat was doning play should have been
and what I say it should havebeen because we all know that Trump has
been under threat for quite some time. You always make adaptations, and my
understanding is that they had requested thesecurity team had requested it three times the
(04:51):
headquarters for additional personnel because of theviable threats that they were receiving. He
was denied all three times. Theway that a request goes all the way
to the top, not just tothe director to Kim, but it would
have gone to the secretary, whichwould have been my orcist, and it
would have also gone to the President, which would have been Biden. And
(05:12):
those your quests were denied. Sothen you had the activity occurring that day.
Well you also had that day JillBiden and Kamala Harris both in the
state within the area, so theydrew resources. So there were a minimum
number of resources. How do theycompensate for that? They get more local
and state law enforcement to offset thebalance. These two c's on the barn
(05:34):
were local law enforcement officers part oftheir spot teams, so they were very
qualified to make the shot. Obviously, you could see the result of his
work was shot. He took himout, but he followed procedure. They
had been told they're going to tryto use an excuse. Well, since
it wasn't one of our guys whowanted to make sure nobody's shot and before
he knew about it. That's notwhat you do in a presidential detail protection.
(05:58):
Just as you implied you're talking goingto protecting the president. You see
a gun, it is incumbent uponyou to take it out, period.
And that is what should have happened, the fact that it was communicated that
permission would need to be granted first. And remember, now you have to
look at the times we're in.Gods are always guilty till proven innocence.
They get sued, they get blamed, they get locked up. We're just
(06:21):
doing their job. So everybody's tryingto cover their backside. So if somebody
tells you don't engage without permission, even though you probably should have, you're
gonna think twice about doing it.And that's what would have happened in this
particular situation. But it goes toshow that for him to have gotten in
and have done what he did,he had to have some inside help.
(06:44):
Yeah, it's shocking that. Okay, so the guy had to wait forty
two seconds to get permission to makethe kill shot on the on the sniper
on the on the assassin attempted assassin, there would be assassin, but he
was also roaming the grounds for whatwe was called twenty six minutes. I
guess it two different encounters at leastone person that local law enforcement took a
photo, let me take your photo, and then the guy kept roaming.
(07:06):
The guy props the ladder up climbson a building. Was that just lack
of personnel by the Secret Service beingthere? Why was the guy not detained
when two different law enforcement officers fortwenty six minutes thought he was suspicious and
the best they did snapped a photoof him roaming around. If you review
the video, what you'll see isthe local law enforcement officers were accompanied by
(07:30):
Secret Service agents. So I wouldimagine, you know, of course we've
got the video, we'll see whatkind of audio we could find now,
but I would imagine the local wouldsay, hey, we needn't get that
guy. And now, assuming thatperhaps there had did insider assistance, that
would have probably be said, well, he's okay, he's good, or
he's fine. That's what we hadto find out because quite frankly, it
(07:54):
is totally without excuse for him tohave been identified multiple times, not just
by the law enforcement, all byspectators, by the community, and for
him not. They have been takingout law before it happened. It is
fascinating what we're about to find outabout this. Some cries for the Secret
Service head to already resign. Idoubt she will do that. Majorcas another
