Romas building our school legacy Christian Academyin Rwanda. I hope to see their
registration is going. Man, you'regoing to get in. There still some
sponsorship opportunities as well. Rivers promisedot O or g riverspromise dot ORG.
All right, I want to walkinto the program our friend, mister Greg
Lopez. We talked to him acouple of weeks ago, right before he

(00:22):
headed off to DC to fill outthe rest of the term that was abandoned
by Ken Buck. And Buck abandonedthe post and to say a CD four,
leaving the folks of Congressional District fourwith no representation. Greg Lopez put
his name on the ballot in aspecial election a few weeks ago, and
he has now the right and responsibilityto represent the people of the fourth Congressional

(00:43):
District. And he's been in DCfor some very let's say, interesting times.
And on the hotline, Congressman GregLopez joins us now Congressman walking into
the program, Sir, how areyou good? Thank you for having me,
Jamie. It's a pleasure to beon your show this morning. Well,
we got a lot of new stuffthat's happened, and of course this
testimony that happened with your colleagues. They're in the House of Representatives of Kim

(01:07):
cheatle led to a resignation. Butbefore we get there, you took a
swearing in ceremony. I guess kindof talk about your first day you get
there. Does somebody meet you atthe airport? Do they give you a
map? Do they lay up breadcrumbs? How do you find your way around
to know where to go to getthe swearing in at No? Yeah,
I did have someone on the signMy chief of staff that I brought on

(01:30):
met me at the airport. Youknow, we'd already had some meeting scheduled
as you can imagine, you know, just trying to meet with the house
clerk to get some paper processed andthen so they are pretty efficient up here,
you know, they make sure youshow up on time. I was.
They took my wife and my daughterup to the gallery to see the

(01:52):
swearing swearing in and so, youknow, it was a pretty fast moving
pace on Monday. But things wentwell and I was able to address the
Congress as a whole and say afew remarks and got a standing ovation.
So everything went well. Oh well, what's the biggest I guess behind the

(02:13):
scenes kind of, you know, because sometimes you get to a like a
television set and you're like, wow, it's smaller than it looks on television.
It looks it looks And what's thebiggest kind of shock around there that
you see? Is is it thepace of life? Is it the is
it just the casuals of I'm justwhat's kind of the biggest shock? You're
like, Wow, I can't believeI'm here, and this is not exactly
what I thought it would be.No, I think it's predominantly h how

(02:38):
they treat the congressmen and congresswomen. You know. You get a pin that
you wear and it's a little tinon your hotel gives you a lot of
access bypasses, security, gives yourown elevators, you know, And I'm
just like everybody else, you know. I mean, I don't think I'm
all that in the bag of chip, So it's a little different to be

(02:59):
treated in that type of man.Yeah, they give me, but that's
why some people don't want to leavethere. I'm never terminated myself. I'm
going to stay up here. Iget treated better up here. That's how
they want to stay. I guessI'm I think that's one of the reasons,
you know. But for me,you know, I'm just down on
earth, and you know, I'mhere to work right, and I'm here

(03:19):
to be a placeholder. I'm hereto be a principal holder. And so
moving quickly with my team, talkingto a lot of different congressman. I
sit on the Budget Committee. Iwas assigned to the Budget Committee, which
is good, and I was alsosigned to Science and Technology. So a
lot of stuff going on. Asyou said earlier, you know, I've
been up here. People are I'venoticed a new guy. You know,

(03:44):
I go, he're the new guyfrom Colorado, right, you said,
yeah, the new guy, GregLopez is my guest. He's uh,
he's filling it out the rest ofthe term for that ken buckspot where Ken
Buck abandoned you. Greg Lopez said, send me, put me in co
coach, and the people send himup there. Greg. Let me tell
you, I watched this hearing withKim Cheatle in front of that Oversight Committee

(04:05):
on Monday, and it was oneof those fascinating things I've ever seen.
That's a committee that's pretty divided.They don't get along. They've been investigating
Hunter Biden. I mean, they'renot very friendly on that committee, it
doesn't seem but man, on Monday, they came together. I thought they
were going to have a campfire andsee kumbai Yan that have a towel.
Afterwards, I mean, they justall came together and said, this is
ridiculous. Did you feel the reverberationsof that Kim Cheatle testimony on Monday and

(04:30):
the just the knowledge that we're notgetting all the full scoop on what happened
on July thirteenth in Pennsylvania. Iknow what I saw on television? Did
you feel see it? Was itthe talk of Congress that day? It
was Jimmy. Look. One ofthe things that people don't realize is that
I used to do advance work forthe vice president of the United States,
So I understand the security detail tounderstand Holidays is supposed to play the things

(04:56):
to making sure that you're protecting thevice president or the president. So when
you see that type of failure,it's clear that you know she was incompetent.
They didn't prepare it correctly, andso for me, it was very
telling, and I also called fora resignation. And you know, when
you look at her testimony, shewas very evasive. It was clear she

(05:20):
had no clue about what was goingon that day, and she really wasn't
competent enough to oversee the investigation. So I'm glad that she did the right
things. She should have done iton her own earlier. But at the
end of the day, you know, what you saw was both sides,
both parties realizing anytime that there's apresidential candidate that is able to be a

(05:45):
shooter to get that close, theycan do that for a president as well.
So it's not just that it's acampaign season. It's the fact that
their mission, the Secret Services mission, failed. They were supposed to protect
them and they didn't do that.Amazed in watching this whole thing that you
know, you can remember any tragedyit happens, wildfires, of the school
shooting, tragically, any kind ofa big thing, the story that happens.

(06:09):
Usually there's a daily press briefing wheresomebody comes at says, Okay,
here's what we know, here's wherethe fires at, here's our containment level,
here's what we know about the shooteror whatever. Since July the thirteenth
day, there have been no dailypress briefings by the FBI, the Secret
Service. There's just nothing out there. There's no news. And even during
the most volatile times of the Bidenadministration, where he decides not to seek

(06:30):
re election or not accept his party'snomination, the White House shutdown. It's
daily press briefings. It's really kindof shocking how we have something happy that
the press is kind of being shutout, and the press isn't really reporting
it. I'm reporting it that there'sno daily press briefings going on to the
White House. There's no daily pressbriefings going on about this assassination attempt.

(06:50):
You're absolutely correct. Look, it'sall about cya up here. What you're
realizing, what you're seeing, Youmean, all your listeners. Look,
it's abouty cover your own you knowwhat. And so that's why you're not
seeing that. Look, they've beenmisleading the public for so long, not
only on the health and the abilityof President Biden, but what's going on

(07:11):
up here, and so they're panking. They're in chaos. So what's the
best thing you do. Well, you don't come out in public. You
don't say anything because you don't havethe truth on your side, and so
you're always trying to cover up theinformation because if the public should know the
truth, they would be livid. And it is an election cycle, so
they're trying to protect their power. They're trying to protect their positions. But

(07:35):
this is telling. It's very telling, because the American people does deserve to
have daily a brief was what happened, daily press releases and conferences that say
hey, look, here's where wefailed, here's what we did wrong,
and here's what we're going to dothe correct it. But you're not seeing
that. Greg Lopez, I hopeyou're enjoying a DC as much as you

(07:57):
can. Don't get the swamp funguson just kind of gets nasty. I
hear. You got to decontaminate iffolks. If if folks want to contact
you, you're the congressman representing themaptly and responsibly up and through January sometime.
How do they contact your office?Well, they can call my office
here in Washington at two zero twotwo two five forty six seventy six.

(08:20):

we have offices in Cassar Rock andEaton, So you know what, my
phone number. For those of youyou have it, you know my sale
number is still my cell number. For those of you that still have it,

(08:43):

there in this election cycle and lettingus know what's happening up there and the
reverberates of Mondays still being heard.I got to take a break. There's
the music. Thank you Representative Lopez, Greg Lopez, Congressman the New Guy,
