It's mister Eli Bremmer. He is the newly and duly
elected chairperson of the Colorado GOP. Eli Bremmer on the hotline,

(01:27):
Eli Welker to the show.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Welcome back, sir, Hey, thanks for having me on. Jimmy,
It's great to be on with you this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It's been a while since I think you're running for
office back at twenty twenty two if I look at
my records correctly.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
But glad to have you.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Folks don't know you used to be the chairperson of
the Colorado GOP in El Paso County, and now you've
stepped in on Saturday. We're elected by the people in
the Central Committee meeting to take over when Dave Williams
was removed from office. Help me understand, Dave Williams, I
believe says he hasn't He's still the legitimate chair and

(01:58):
that was an illegitimate meeting on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
What say you, Yeah, I mean, we're sort of dealing
with a little bit of a squatter situation. The folks
that were evicted don't want to leave yet. We're in
the process of dealing with that. That's just sort of
down in the weeds. But what I will tell you
is what led to the removal of the officers was
complete dereliction of duty, basically working against our candidates, from

(02:22):
the former vice chairman openly posting support for Adam Frisch
in the third district against Jeff Hurd to the chairman
sending out communications that we're costing our candidates a ton
of money and support. So that is now behind us.
It's a new day. The Colorado GOP is back open
for business. We are out there to support our candidates

(02:43):
because this is an important election cycle, particularly on the
state side. If we lose a state Senate seat right now,
the Democrats are going to have complete control of the
government and can run rough shot over us without any
process in the state Senate. And then we also have
two very competitive House seats to one up in your
neck of the woods CD eight with Gabe Evans and
the other in the South and Southwest with Jeff Hurd

(03:06):
in CD.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Three, the voice of Eli Bremmer. He's a new chairperson
of the Colorado GP. I do want to talk about
this election cycle of how the Colorado GP is going
to step in here in the last seventy five days.
But real quick back on the squatter situation. Is that
something that gets I don't know how where the authority comes.
Is that something that comes from the r n C.
Is that something that comes from the court. How does

(03:27):
this finally get worked out? Can you give us some
hint on that.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Yeah, it's going to be both. It's a bit of
a process. But I mean the good news is we
have everything in place. We opened up an interim office
yesterday in Colorado Springs where we're going to be able
to support candidates throughout the state. You know, I had
a strategy meeting yesterday with the National Republican Congressional Committee.
They're the arm of the RNC that runs the congressional races.

(03:53):
They're obviously very engaged in the third district and in
the eighth district up in northern Colorado with Gabe Evan,
so we're working directly with them Already. Last night I
had a meeting with seven or eight of of the
largest county chairs in the state of Colorado. We worked
through some issues that should have been dealt with about
nine months ago. We're getting back on track, so we're

(04:16):
you know, we'll deal with the eviction process. But what
I'm really most interested in is getting Republicans elected.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
On November fifth, Gave Evans CD eight.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I actually live in the congressional District Dave that takes
care of a lot of the northern northern Denver part
Adams County and also up into Weld County, and Gave
Evans would actually be my congressman should he be elected.
I'm kind of thinking of the money that the state
Party spent to try to get Janet Joshi elected over
him in the primary, and I'm thinking of all that money,

(04:45):
all those flyers, that could have been money that was
spent to this general election for Gabe Evans. What is
Gabe Evans going to need to get across the finish
line and how far behind is the state Party in
helping him?

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Well, the State Party is not only behind it helping him.
But the thing I heard from Gabe and Jeff Hurd,
our candidate in the third Paul Lundean, our State Senate
minority leader, was I said, what's the number one thing
I need to focus on? They said, Eli, the State
Party has been like an anchor around our neck. We're
kind of like looking over our shoulders, waiting for the

(05:18):
next time they attack us. And I think that's just crazy.
Ballots go out in under fifty days and that's the
first thing we've put a stop to. The next piece
of that's going to be financial support, and for Gabe
Evans to win in that dish right, it's going to
be millions of dollars. Some of that will be able
to be supported through the Colorado GOP. Donors had largely

(05:40):
shut off from giving to the GOP. Last month, they
raised thirteen thousand dollars. That's money that just sort of
comes in via you know, accidental channels, you know, people
just clicking and making small donations and stuff like that.
So we need to be raising a ton more money.
I've taught to donors. I've got a whole bunch of
calls this week with major donors saying we're back in business.
If you give the party money, it's not going to

(06:03):
get spent on the chairman or friends of the chairman.
It's going to go support candidates like Gabe Evans. And
I think our donors are excited about Gabe and they're
ready to come back on and support Colorado. Overall.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I know this is a we've got to get through
this election, but overall, in the last many years, Colorado
has not been very friendly to Team Red. They've not
been They have a big Trump aversion in the state
of Colorado. And how do you in fifty day or
seventy five days and fifty days until ballots it, how
do you try to overcome some of that Red aversion
Trump aversion with some of these candidates in these competitive races.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Well, I think it's the focus has to be on
the candidates instead of the party. People are not going
to elect Republicans, They're going to elect Gabe Evans. You
look at Gabe, he is a fantastic candidate. He's a young,
dynamic veterans, Hispanic. I mean he is you know, if
you get to know him, he's an incredible guy, very compelling.
I think when voters get to know him, and that's

(07:01):
the job of the party is to support voters getting
to know him, they're going to want to vote for him.
And so we have had a problem in the past
with the label Republican. But the solution to that is
have dynamic, compelling candidates like Gabe and have the party
get out of the way and quit having the story
be about the party and have it be about compelling
candidates who can win office.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I don't mean to circle back to the eviction process,
but you say that you're back in business and the
donors can give is there do you guys have control
of the bank account yet or is there a new
bank account? How does that work? Just for anybody who's
doing well, I want to make sure that the money
goes to the team that I wanted to go to.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
How does that work.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
We're on hold to actually take money in probably for
a few days. We're in the process of working through
how to get the bank accounts, how to get control
of that and ensure that all moneies and records are preserved.
We anticipate shortly after Labor Day to be able to
come back into the business the state GOP should be doing,
which is fun to aggregation for our candidates. However, Jimmy,

(08:02):
in the meantime, your district, they love gave Evans Okay,
he won with nearly an eighty percent vote up there
in the primary. He is so popular he was endorsed
by Donald Trump in the primary. And waste no time.
Give your money to Gabe and you can be rest
assured when you write a check to Gabe, when you
swipe your credit card, you are helping gave Evans out.

(08:23):
So I don't need the money to come into the
Colorado Republican Party as much as I needed to come
into our candidates. And Gabe's the guy up there, and
so your listeners should all, if they haven't done it already,
make a donation, get a yard sign, knock a door.
Gabe's gonna win that campaign with our support.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
The voice of Eli Brimmer, he's a new chairperson of
the Colorado GOP and joining us to kind of explain
the state of the Colorado GOP and how to catch
up after bubbling and stumbling for the last year or so,
especially the last many months during the primary season. Elip
Brimmer on the hotline with me, why would you want
to step into the You've got other things should do.

(09:02):
It's a kind of a brutal project. You've got the
folks that still think you're not the duly elected chairman.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Why did you assign it for this fight?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Well, you know, the first thing to me is I
didn't want to do this. It became pretty obvious as
the summer war on that not only did they need
to be removed, but you needed someone to be able
to step in, who could come in on day one
with no training wheels, who the candidates would immediately be
able to work with, the county party chairs could work with,
and the donors could work with, and the national party

(09:35):
could work with. I had all those relationships. I kind
of looked in the mirror and said, hey, buddy, you
got to step up to the plate. I'm not afraid
of doing hard things. I went to the Air Force Academy.
I then went on to compete in the Olympics. I've
started businesses. I do hard things. I also believe in
serving our country. And right now Democrats have terrible policies
for our country. They haven't secured the southern border they

(09:58):
brought us. I mean, people talk about Donald Trump is
a danger to our world stability. Well, look at what's
happened under Joe Biden. We had, you know, the withdrawal
of Afghanistan. We've had a war in the Ukraine, we
have a war in Israel right now, and so our
country needs Republicans to be back in power. And I
looked at it and I said, I can take a

(10:18):
few months out of my busy schedule to do my
part in serving our country by helping get some Republicans
elected so we can stem the tide of the Democrats
in America. Today again the.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Voice of eliab Brember, the new chairperson of the Colorado GOP.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Now, you said do this for a few months.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Is this something that when the meeting is held after
the election next year that you are going to say,
thank you, I've done my job, I'm out of here,
or is this something you would entertain if all goes
well to continuous estate party chair I have.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Been very overt that I will not be running for reelection.
I am coming in effectively as an interim chair to
get the thing fixed, get it back on track. I've
got a couple of major projects. You know my sports background.
I'm co chairing the United States bid on the World
Military Games, which would come to Charlotte in twenty twenty seven.
That's going to be north of one hundred million dollar event,

(11:08):
ten thousand athletes. That is going to be kicking in
late in the fall. I've got some other business commitments
I got to work on. So my entire goal with
this is get the party back on track, and then
I want to hand it over to another great leadership
team who is able to run and steward the party
through the twenty twenty sixth election, where hopefully we make
some inroads, picking up maybe the governor's mansion or a

(11:31):
Senate see and seats in the State House and the
state Senate. So my job is to fix the problem,
get in and.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Get out very quickly. You said you talked to several
candidates yesterday. What is the prognosis there is there any
chance that we make some headway, we don't lose a
Senate seat in the state Senate. What is your feeling
on the elections. That again, all the focus seems to
have been on the former chairperson, and now we got

(11:57):
to focus on these candidates.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
What do you think.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
I feel pretty good about it right now and talking
to Senator Lundine and I'm working on scheduling a deep
dive with Representative Rose policy on the House side. I
feel like we've got good candidates in the races. I've
worked with Senator Lundin, I know both London and Police
said quite well, and we are working on figuring out

(12:23):
to get well planned for how we can quickly resource
the top targeted races. Right now, if Republicans lose a
single state Senate see, we will become a micro minority
in the Senate. What that means is that we lose
seats on committees and that Republicans cannot block a governor's veto.
And Polist is more moderate than the other members of
his party that serve in the legislature, so he actually

(12:45):
does block some of the worst things to come through
via veto. If we lose this ability to get seats
on the committee, if we lose that position in the
state Senate, one of the first things you're going to
see is that the far radical leftists are going to
go after Tabor ya a constitutional amendment that they will
refer to the ballots from the legislature. And if you

(13:07):
like Tabor, support your state Senate candidates. We've got to
win at least we've got to at least hold the
seats we've got. I'm optimistic maybe we can pick up
a seat out there and defend our position in the Senate.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
I do know you said that you're still kind of
working on being able to receive money into the state
party under the new regime, the new leadership. And so
if folks want to contribute to a local race, do
they just need to find that candidate. Is there a
central fund that they can contribute to to help some
of these senators get across the finish line, even some
of the state house members.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, you can contribute directly to the candidates. That is
always the right thing to do. Candidates need our money.
And so if you've got a candidate out there in
your district that you want to support, or frankly, here's
the thing. If your candidate is if you're in a
safety let's say it's a safe Republican seat or a
state Democrat seat. Take your money, find the nearest competitivecy

(14:00):
where we've got a Republican it's kind of on the bubble,
and give them the money. We have very low contribution limits.
It's a two hundred dollars contribution limit on the state
House and the state Senate, and it's hard for those
candidates to raise money. So what you got to remember
is even though you can't vote for them, they can
vote for you. So when you give your money to
a Republican running in a tough district that we can win,

(14:21):
you're helping get someone else into Denver who can still
vote for you even though you can't vote for them.
The other thing they can do. Our county parties are
actually pretty well run. I mean, I'm impressed with our
county party chairs. You're not wrong also to give to
your local county party. I will tell you a five
hundred dollars contribution goes so much farther at a local
party than it does at a state party. Call up

(14:44):
your local county party chair, ask them what they need,
and see if you can write a check to cover that.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Eli Bremmer, and it is a pleasure. Thanks for hopping
on the program. Do you have any timeline of when
you think the quote the invention process will be complete
or is it just kind of a day by day.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
I think it's going to be a matter of days
to weeks. I'm really optimistic. We've got a great legal
team working on it. We appreciate the support we're getting nationally,
you know, and and I will make this commitment to
everybody out there. We are not going to wait. We
have started doing the job. Colorado GP is open for
business and we're ready for November fifth.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Have you heard from the National Republican Committee? I know
you did talk with the NRCC. They're willing to work
with the new the new sheriff in town, the new regime.
Have you heard from the RNC. Have they expressed an
opinion here?

Speaker 1 (15:31):
They're going to stay back because they're one of the
pasts for effectively our arbitrating this, so they have to
they have to take a little bit of a different
route than the National Congressional Committee does. We've absolutely had
discussions back there. They're fully aware of what's going on.
I can't discuss that a whole lot more than that,
but I feel I feel very good about the support

(15:53):
we have nationally to get Colorado back.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
On track, Eli Brimmer.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
If somebody wants to contact you or the what's the
best way to do that right now?

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Jump on my Twitter feed at Eli Bremmer. Is just
my name, Eli bery m e R. I'm pretty easy
to find. Send me a DM if you're trying to
get in touch with your local party, if you want
to make a contribution, and you can keep up today
with the media appearances. We're all over the media right
now announcing the word that we're back in business and
we're ready to help our candidates.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Eli Premer, appreciate you hopping on. Good to hear your
voice again. We'll talk again soon. Keep me in the loop.
Eli Bremmer the new chairperson of the Colorado GOP, and
perhaps everybody in the state and in the nation recognizes
that except the former chairperson, And hopefully he'll get the
notice very soon that his time has probably it's expired.
All right, Glad to have you here on the radio show.

(16:43):
We got to take a break here in just a moment. Again,
that's Eli Bremmer now chairperson of the Colorado GOP. What
a fascinating saga that is. But you know it's Eli.
Did he stepped up with a plan and hit the
ground running. Knowing that they have an eviction process with
the previous chair and the previous team, they're going to
not necessarily walk out with their cardboard box easy. But

(17:04):
he's already. They've set up a temporary headquarters down in
Colorado Springs. They're going, They are blowing and going, and
the National Republican Congressional Committee money. They've said they're going
to work with the new team. Listen, Gabe Evans, you
got to get him, Jeff Hurd across the finish line.
Very very important. I'll be back Lakey on the radio,

(17:24):
Jimmy Lakey. It's News Talk, six hundred kcol Good morning, Colorado.
So don't go anywhere. We'll be back.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
