Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, it is New Year's Eve. Um, you know what
today is, Bobo. Besides New Year's Eve. You don't because
you didn't know me, then I don't. Okay, this is
UM today Ben and I my husband, we celebrate thirteen
years of marriage. Congratulations today. Thank you. That's awesome for
obviously pre recording this because we're not UM doing. But yeah,
(00:23):
when people are listening to this, I'll be celebrating years.
That's super cool. It's crazy. Um wow, yeah, like a
lot our lives. Then we've done a lot of different
things in our marriage. But hopefully people UM had a
great Christmas and they're ready to tackle UM. And so
(00:48):
I've got a quote. I'm going to start off with
a quote from Bobo since he's here, and this is
something I saw him post on instat stories and I
took a screenshot and saved it for this UM because
I thought, like, this is deep. This is Bobo getting
deep and said had said true hard work requires immense
(01:13):
sacrifice and takes you to a place of intense discomfort,
but in the end, it is the hard work that
leaves you the most fulfilled and spawns the most growth. Bobo.
So I thought that that was fitting for the new
year's episode because a lot of people probably put in
(01:35):
the work in twenty nineteen or they're looking forward to
what's to come in and how do they want to
approach it. And you are an entrepreneur, started a business
with your friend and y'all have turned irritate into like
something pretty special. But you're grinding. But I mean, so
(01:58):
you could speak to people that might be in a
similar place face of maybe chasing their dreams in their
because this isn't something you've always done, which at Nashville
is that? Why don't you say in a nutshell what
it is quickly? We're a health and wellness company centered
around IVY hydration and performance space medicine UM with vitamins
and different supplements. But some of his clients require him too,
(02:21):
I mean too in order to work with them, he
you have to travel the country and you know it's
really taxing you. I saw you know one night you
were like getting off a flight after doing like a
long day's work I assume or wherever, working with whomever,
and you went straight to a client's house, UM because
even though it was late, but your client needed to
do so with that client's house, the other night at
(02:43):
one in the morning, I mean crazy. So but that's
your dedicated to what you're doing. You love being able
to help people, and um, it says here true hard
work requires them and sacrifice because you miss out on
things with friends and family and like, I mean even
I'm assuming, like when you spent Thanks to Me with us,
(03:04):
you had to fly out the next morning to go
to some be at some f to Philadelphia the very
next morning for the Eagles, and so you didn't go home,
probably to Birmingham to be with your mom because you
was like too much travel. So like it's that's a sacrifice,
big tim Like it's just like Christmas, Um, I can
only go home for two nights because I have to
(03:24):
see certain clients the day or two days before Christmas.
So I missed well on his birthday normally don't, but
the way it falls this year, I have to see
clients those days and then the day after Christmas, that
Friday after Christmas, I have to be on a plane
to Philadelphia. So I don't really have a choice, but
I gotta go. So if some of you are listening
and you're like, oh man, it's just been one of
(03:46):
those years. And but you're if you're passionate about what
you're doing, like the sacrifices is going to be worth.
It might be a little uncomfortable right now, but you'll grow,
you'll be fulfilled, it'll pay off, and you will always
have to be this crazy, but you're in the growing stages.
And I think too that I try to remind myself
to like relish the discomfort and relish the the the sacrifice,
(04:11):
so to speak, because this will only last so long,
and I don't want to look back and be like
where I've always expected and wanted to be and feel
like I just discredited all this time, and not not
live in the moment of this time and and and
truly enjoy the moments that I do have with my
friends and with my family, and and they might be
(04:32):
like I had a friend that played a show which
would have been a couple of weeks ago. It was
actually last night. I missed the whole thing. I showed up.
I saw on Instagram. You're like, I missed the whole thing,
but I showed up at thirty minutes later just to
give him a hug and say I love you, bro,
I'm proud of you. I wasn't here, but I wanted
you to know I didn't see any of your show,
but I'm pumped for you. So it's like those little
(04:54):
moments I think. I try to like take in every
bit of it because a eventually won't be like that.
But I don't want to miss all those little things
mentally and emotionally, um, just because I'm trying to rush
through this phase of my life to the next thing.
And you make a good point to of like you
don't know how long something's gonna last. I kind of
feel that way with the Bobby Bones Show and what
(05:16):
we do. I'm like especially with radio, and I mean,
I feel like some opportunities that come my way, I
kind of have to take them right now because in
ten years, five years, they may not be there. I
might be the old wash up co host from some
radio show from back in the day. Like I don't know,
(05:39):
I mean, you don't like stuff that comes my way,
even though it might feel like some weeks my world
is like I can't. I've suffocating between all the things
because it's I've got kids and a husband and pimp
and joy and a squa and it saw was like
a huge passion of mine and Obviously Pimp and Joy
(06:00):
is very important too, but it's not as it doesn't
require as much work as a spot, and then the
show and the podcast, and then there's other stuff like
on the Horizon for Bobby's kind of talked to me about,
and in my mind, I'm like, how am I going
to add that? How am I going to make that happen? Um?
But I'm like, shoot, I kind of have to figure
out how do I it happen because like three years
(06:21):
from now, I may not even get an offer like that.
So at least I do it while I can grow
from it, learn from it, challenge myself and then look
back and be thankful that I did it and that
I got to do it exactly. And I also try
to tell people to to not romanticize what you see
on my Instagram because there are times that I have
(06:44):
my close little internet family friends type people in my
life that I've went to I struggle, like I do
have breakdown moments like it's not all pretty travel grind,
like oh I'm gonna get to this point and it's
all good, Like yeah, I missed up, but I'm good.
Like I'll throw these quotes out there like no like
(07:06):
I struggle at times, and it's okay, Like if you're
like going through it and you're like you fill up,
you're breaking down, You're not like you're not the only
one like it. It's tough to go after something you
really want, and like I just want to say, like
I'm in the trenches with that person, like I feel
that just don't always look to the people's instagrams or
(07:30):
like they've got it all figured out and they know
how I'm struggling to I'm struggling to Oh yeah, I'm
a freaking hot mess. Uh chases over here on the couch.
He can attest to that, say Halla, okay, yeah I
I am, and I've been with here right now. He
would say it too. And you know, even Mary who
runs the Shot Forward, like she'll get messages sometimes like
(07:52):
I want to start a you know, a business that
gives back and I want to do this and I just,
you know, how do you do it all? And she's like,
oh man, I want to help them. But like she
had a clothing business before the Shot Forward and was
able to piggyback that business the Shot Forward stuff into that,
(08:12):
Like she has the warehouse and the resources and she
knew how to do it and make it all happen,
so she doesn't want to ever give a false like
um fairy tale on Instagram that like yes, do you
everybody can do this, but I mean, she's she's everything
on that company, like she's the web girl she is.
(08:32):
Sometimes it's funny I'll be talking to her and sull
it just made me think of this you're talking about,
don't ever fall for my Instagram being like, oh, you know,
it's such a grind, it's so great. Yeah, I mean
because you're trying to put your best foot forward a
lot of times online for Mary too, like it's so
much work when you're setting out like it is. It's
(08:53):
a lot. And sometimes something will be going on her
website and she'll be like, oh, I'm gonna fire my
web girl. But it's her. She just she does all
of it. And when you're an entrepreneur, I guess I
just say this is encouragement of like, yes, we're we're
all like in this together and nobody has it figured out. Um,
(09:13):
and the best thing you can do is at times
try to be transparent with that, which is what we're
trying to do right now. I just always remember you're
never finished. You know, you're never finished. We're always at
I don't want to come to We're like a piece
of art that's that's never finished. So you're always working.
So I do know you're always working on yourself and
(09:33):
just cut yourself some slack, but keeping but keep grinding. Yes,
And I think, yeah, I learned. My Bin is grinding
with his company he started, which let's for New Year's
let's give been some more followers on Instagram. He's now
running his drone company account. It's tough stump if you haven't,
(09:54):
yeah at tough stuff because I see him work so hard,
he's grinding at it. Um, he's an inspiration to me.
With that, I see Mary working so hard, she's an
inspiration to me. And then Bobo, you are an inspiration
to me. And since this is the four Things podcast
and yeah, look he only has like seven posts, but yeah,
(10:17):
oh he'll notice that. He'll be like, god'll follow so uh,
since this is fourth Thing podcast, I'll throw Bobby in
the mix too, because he's someone that's around me that
I see grind and he does not stop. And you
know it's cool, but not that's not that you have
to live the life of grinding, but um, it's it's
(10:39):
sort of contagious. And if you're if you're looking to
grow and stretch, like, surround yourself with people that are
are going to grow and stretch you exactly. Um, so
you want to get into some questions real quick and answers.
We kind of just did a little a little chit
chat there, but going into the new year, it seems good.
Which speaking of that, a lot of people might be
(10:59):
drinking a little bit more than usual because it's New
Year's Eve or whatever the case. They're around family or whatnot,
and they might be indulging in more. So, do you
have any go to tips for um that if you
drink a lot of water, drink a lot of water. Um.
I'll also tell you to wash your hands more because
(11:22):
that drinking is gonna drop your immune system a little bit.
So um. And you're around a lot of people shaking hands,
touching people, people are not washing their hands, a lot
of food, a lot of finger foods, people's hands on stuff,
so you're just exposed to potentially more virus stuff. So
just wash your hands and then kiss. Kiss. Some of
(11:43):
us are single, and uh, if you need a new
Year's Eve kiss in Nashville. I already get emails. Is
Bobo single, Bobo single? Um? I left those out of
the Q and A because I mean, answer he's single
at at Mobo hit him up slide No. Uh, But
(12:05):
what I do if I know there's going to be
a time that I'm over indulging. UM. Not that I
plan to drink a lot, but if I do, UM,
I usually take some form of electro like tablet, electrolyte, capsule. UM.
I don't I'm not gonna tell you a specific brand
(12:25):
because you can just find the electrolyte thing on Instagram
on on Instagram, but on Amazon and UM that's probably
just the best way to do it. Something very plain simple,
no additive, no sugar, no sweetener, just an electro light tablet.
And then about an hour and a half after that,
I'll take activated charcoal. I use um A uh what's
(12:50):
his name that does bulletproof. It's the same It's the
same as the bulletproof brand UM, and that will help
absorb pretty much anything you put in your system. So
if you add the electrolyte tablet at the same time,
you're going to absorb that completely. So you'll waste that
as well. I thought I had an electrolyte tablet in
my bag, so I was digging for it while you
were talking because I wanted to show it to you
(13:11):
to be like like this, But I don't know where
it went. But yeah, that's great, or you can use
I use another like none have you heard of? None? In? You? In? In?
Is that the name? That's probably a fine one too.
I haven't ever used. I haven't looked at their labels,
so I can't speak to that. But I take keen
ton water, which is that it's a whole another podcast.
But I take that every time before I fly and
(13:32):
when I land. But so how do you take it
when you land? You? I pack it in my carry
on your little glass ampules. Oh it's little strongly carry
on with four ounces. These are like what are they?
It's basically nothing but sea salt water. But it's taken
from the portion of the sea at the level where
(13:54):
the plankton and okay, okay, okay, there was a plankton
pretty much lives, so it's really in they're feeding, so
it's really linked in an animal. They're like crustaceans like shrimp. Okay,
but plank it's like what fish eat, okay, but those
smaller fish eat, but they it's at that level. So
(14:15):
it's super nutrient dense water and they extract it from
the ocean and just purify it. You drink that now daily,
not daily when you fly, but before I fly, when
I land, um before I if I go out, Can
I just throw some sea salt in my water? Yeah?
But this is just really good, like hypertonic hype, like
super salty water. That's all it is. And I just
(14:37):
take a just break the ample. But it's so like
it's not as bad as drinking any alcohol shot. I mean,
it just tastes like salt water and it's gone. It's
not like a really bad aftertaste. Okay. So maybe something
like that ye helps you absorb more water. I mean,
what if like for your drink like those none tabs.
(14:57):
I think that's how you spell it inuite and I
don't know, but they have like you know, cheery flavor
or whatever. You drop that in water and then you
put your tequila or vodka in that. Are you with
the electrolytes in your alcohol? Are you hydrating while where
is that? Now you're adding Now you're adding a artificial
(15:18):
flavor and color to it. That's the other thing. Okay,
but that's an electrolyte tablet. They all have that, right, No,
I take a capsule that's literally just a capsule of
like potassium sodium chloride, like it's just a plane. Well,
so now you're saying that, maybe then my non tablets
aren't good. I didn't know they were flavored. Sorry, they
(15:38):
were pink and pretty probably refrain from that. It's just
like the drip drop and the liquid ivy. Are those
those work? Yes, but they have a lot of added
stuff that isn't necessary. So my clients that want to
use those type products I tell them just to use
(15:59):
keen On water instead because it's basically can you get
keen toon on Amazon? It's on Amazon. I couldn't have
been more fun. Do you a in t o n
Keeneton water? And I used the hypertonic salty version of it. Amazing. Okay,
So that was just a question I thought we were
(16:20):
addressed in general since New Year's Eve like a hangover thing.
It's not from anybody in particular. Um, but speaking of hydrating,
I did get an email from Jenny uh and she
was it was a long email, so I'll just paraphrase
it here real quick. But she basically would try to consume,
like she was drinking a hundred and sixty ounces of
water a day. Yeah, oh it is okay, so um,
(16:45):
around four pm, she would get really groggy and lightheaded
and nauseous, and she was like, what the heck, I'm
not dehydrated, so what's the deal. So she called her doctor.
They started talking about the water intake, and they said
that she was suffering from water intoxication, so like too
much water, I guess, and that she cut it back
to like seventy to a hundred ounces a day and
(17:08):
she's feeling fine. But she didn't know if you had
any thoughts on this, because have you? Did you ever
hear about um? That radio stunt called WE for a WEE? Okay?
So it was which it changed the way radio contests
were done, and this is back years ago, but it
(17:29):
does affect how we can do contests with listeners. She
they were The contest was to drink as much water
as possible, but not who can hold their p the
longest and whoever could hold their WE for the longest
one a we. This is in the WE video games
were really popular, so it's we for a we get
(17:51):
it or hold your wee. And she died. A girl
died because she was holding her p and it created
she had like some toxic I don't know, something in
her bladder, like I did something. That's so, did you win?
(18:14):
I don't know, Bobo too much rest like the rest
of beast. She I don't know if she won, but
it's terrible. That's awful. It's terrible. Obviously she had something
really going on. She's probably predisposed to have whatever, but
to it just I don't know what made me think
of weed for a weed, but this water toxication made
(18:37):
me think of it, because like, can we have too
much water? You're gonna have too much pure water where
it's toxic to us. Yeah, it's it's it's hard to
do um, but you have if you're eating and you
have other electrolytes in your system. So the issue is
like if you're drinking water, fountain water, you've pretty much
just got florade water. It's just a ton of florade
(18:59):
in our water, our public water. So I got a
full house water filtration system from Culligan. Water is an
endorsement shout out like I'm not ashamed to like give
them like all the plugs in the world, because I've
always wanted one of those, but I didn't want to
invest in it. And obviously when I do, I did
want to invest in it, but it's it's an investment.
(19:21):
But I was like, is it worth it? And now
door endorsement aside. I mean, of course, I like jumped
on endorsing it because I was like, yes, I've always
wanted one, but now that I have one, it's so amazing.
If we move, which we might have to move for
the kids schooling, I will want. I will call up
call ag in and pay full price any day because
(19:42):
it is. And obviously when I do my commercials from them,
I can tell like I'm super passionate about it because
it's so amazing. It's so good. The water is so good.
I love showering in the water, I love drinking the
water so good. On that same point, for people who
can't afford it, you can buy that same type of
system where Colligan probably has their own system that isn't
(20:06):
under the sink system where just your sink water you
don't have to get the whole your cost is drastically cheaper,
and you're able to cook, drink that water, use that water,
and you're basically only supplying one faucet that so sure
your showers aren't, but it's still an upgrade from your
tap water. And if we're trying to sing, we use bottles,
(20:28):
which I'm terrible at. I know, if we all need
to be better at um, it's a great way. So,
but water quality plays a role in how much water
you're consuming, because so you're having Yeah, but I think
the issue is not just water quality, but it's hers
was probably an electrolyte deficiency because you made because yeah,
(20:49):
you're not drinking so much water, you're flushing out electrolytes,
you're flushing like you're also creating a different sodium content
in your bloodstream, which will make you your your cognition
is not as well. You're not as sharp, you're tired,
you're lethargic, you're your body feels sluggish. So you're you're
(21:12):
altering your blood chemistry by just putting a bunch of
pure water into your system that has none of your
basic electrolytes or um bodies on, like plasma protein. I'm
trying to not make it too medical, but you're basically
just drinking pure water, which is great, but at a
(21:35):
kington water in there? Add um food in there, you know,
I know. I tell everybody you know your staple numbers,
drink a gallon of water a day. But it goes
back to everything we've ever talked about with diets and
food and fasting and everything. Listen to your body and
if your body functions really well off of water, well,
don't drink a gallon, you know, listen to your body. Yeah,
(21:58):
with that, everybody's into is going to be different. But
on average, what would you recommend somebody that? Is it? Like?
Do you base it on weight? No, it's more of
a lifestyle thing. I say, your gold number is a
gallon of water a day. How much is a gallon?
Again like a milk jug? But how many is that?
Just a big gosh, I'm not getting anywhere near that lately.
(22:19):
I would especially if you exercise and drink coffee. If
you drink coffee and you exercise, or you drink tea
that is like a green tea, diuretic green tea. If
you do that and you exercise a gallon of water,
it's like your staple number of like go for that
and that will boost your energy levels, it will make
(22:40):
your skin better, you'll eat less food if you I
don't want to say it that way, that's a that
way to put it. A lot of hunger cravings are
by dehydri because your body's source of fluid from your diet,
so your body will send that same signal. Sometimes when
I'm super snacky, like later in the night, i think
(23:01):
back on my water consumption for the day and I'm like, shoot,
this isn't that I'm hungry, It's that I did not
have enough water today. So your body is just looking
for water. Yeah. Um, okay, So next question, Oh, this
(23:24):
has to do with intermittent fasting. Is bobbo is kind
of like the I F guy? Um? Is it only
beneficial if you do it on a consistent, long term basis?
Do you still still see benefits when doing it for
a day or two a day or to total, or
a day or two a week, a day or two
total you do anything? I will tell people, let's think
(23:48):
about working out. How if you work out once or
twice total, you're not gonna get you benefit your life
for a week. Oh it's in a week? I mean
you guys, you'll get benefit. Okay, uh any anything is
better than nothing. But if you really are trying not
to do it all the time, try to do it
on weekdays. Usually people have more structure during their week days,
(24:12):
whether you work at nine to five or whatever your
work set up is, or if you're a nurse and
you work through the weekends, whatever your work schedule is.
Trying to do inter minute fasting on your work days
and take your whatever your weekend is off, that's a
good way to do it. So five days on two
days off, if that's your work set your work set up,
I mean once or twice a week, it's not really
(24:37):
gonna be the same benefit. Like if you're looking for
true cancer prevention and sell turnover benefits and longevity benefits,
because that's really what I preached to people about inter
minute fasting. It's not to lose weight, and I want
people to know that, Like you know, there's triggers for
in a minute fasting for people who have eating disorders
and things, and I'm not telling people that to do
(24:58):
this to lose weight. It's a eye product of doing
inter minute fasting a lot of times is toning up
and burning more fat. The biggest benefits are increased energy levels,
improve mental function, um, your self turnover. I've talked about
autof a g before, I think, but it's basically self
cleansing and eating partially parts of itself too then turn
(25:19):
over those parts. So there's a big cancer prevention benefit
there too. And that's why I inter minute fast Um,
So doing it like five days a week is still great.
You know, you don't have to do it every day,
but once or twice is a little light. I would
say it is probably the best way to put that. Yeah,
that's yeah, you might as well. If you're gonna do it,
(25:41):
do at least five and like I like that week
days and then weekends you can give yourself a little
bit of a break. But doesn't mean like just go
crazy do whatever, right, And you know, just to hit
on that one more time when I talk about women's
over men's fasting, I think, if you look at my
Instagram at Adam Bobo, I posted one of those stories
(26:01):
that stays whatever those are called highlight and it's just
about inter minute fasting and it does hit the points
of like women's inter minute fasting versus men's just talking
about that hours and stuff. Yeah, that's awesome. Um, But women,
when you fast, if you're gonna push to fourteen hours,
which I think is okay, do that on day as you, um,
don't work out, So like I say, twelve hours if
(26:23):
you're working out, because women need that calorie amount coming in.
And then if you let's say you you exercise three
days a week and two days and the other four
year off, so you're only gonna fast five days. So
what I would do is fast twelve hours for three days,
in fourteen hours for two days, and then on the weekends,
(26:44):
just eat clean but don't fast. Okay, gotcha like it? Um? So,
are there any vitamins or supplements aside from vitamin C
that you would suggest using during this cold and flu season?
In any product you would suggest if you're starting to
feel cold coming on? Number One thing, wash your hands.
I talked about this on Bobby Bones Show the other day.
(27:05):
I've talked about it all the time. Well and you
just mentioned it as part of like the New Year's thing.
Like I didn't think about that. Your hands. People are
dirty and even if they're not sick, they care. We
we all carry viruses you bump into and come in
contact with people all the time, and I think about
it myself, like if you sneeze, or you wipe your nose,
or you touch your face, you have stuff on your hands.
(27:25):
And then did you shake somebody's hand. I could have
passed some little cold flu virus to them that wasn't
affecting me but affected someone else. But if you wash
your hands is the is the You're not gonna over
wash your hands with soap. Your hands might get dry,
find a good lotion, UM, but definitely wash your hands.
And then feeling stuff coming on, like preventions better than treatment.
(27:48):
I mean it's hard once you're already sick. Sometimes these
things just have to run their course. But zinc has
been shown to decrease the duration and decrease the effects
of simple cold olden flu viruses. UM and then Elderberry
I love. I take an elderberry if I feel anything
kind of coming on, I take an elder berry syrup.
(28:10):
And I try to find the most plain, basic, non
additive elder berry that I can find, not a specific brand.
I just whatever's got the least you know, flavored, weird
process stuff in it is what I use. Right, Okay,
good stuff to take note on. Um, Okay, well, just
last question. I've started training for a race and have
(28:31):
been experiencing some joint aches more than usual. What would
you suggest doing to improve joint health? UM, non supplement
type stuff. Take stretch like mobility, UM, stretch after your run.
It's like where that society of minimal time? So we just, oh,
(28:53):
my gosh, I'm the worst that stretch. Just get out
and run and you're like, yes, and what are you like?
Shower out of time? Time, day has to keep going.
And it's just so I usually will tell people, if
you're gonna run for thirty minutes, make you run twenty
minutes and stretch for three to four minutes before, and
then stretch for seven minutes after and loosen out and
(29:17):
only run for twenty minutes. If that's all you've got
set thirty minutes. Do mobility, flexibility stretched stuff. That's the
kind of stuff you can literally YouTube and find any
kind of stuff to do. UM. You know there a
lot of flexibility mobility stuff has been associated with longevity anyway,
So the more flexible you are, the longer healthier theoretically
(29:39):
you live. UM. The other thing is CBD again, CBD creams,
CBD tinctures. Uh, basically a natural anti inflammatory. It's great. Um,
a couple of different products and brands. But is air
Tase CBD coming out? Uh hopefully. I've been so busy
(30:03):
with football season that I don't have a set date,
but early spring, early spring. And then topicals. A really
good product right now is the one that Grant has
a CBD medic and it actually is a really good
topical product. Um. Oh, that's good to know. I have
some stuff called like Mary Jane balmb for something I
(30:26):
don't know. My sister got it for me in Colorado
and it's I put it on my back and it
really helps. I will say that topicals when they have
parts of th HC in them, work exponentially better. Yeah.
I think this is because it's from Colorado. They do
work a lot better with th HC. There's like a
synergistic effect or a compounded effect with the CBD and
(30:49):
th HC that make it work much better and something
that I um believe to be true for joint health
and that I take every day. And again I'm not
as stayed with them at all, but I love vital
proteins like the collagen peptides, so I take like a
scoop a day, maybe or two scoops a day, but
it's like in one scoop it's got the collagen in
(31:12):
it too, but protein. But one thing I wanted you
to clear up with people if they want to try
to use that for joint health, UM, is that it's
not a protein. It's not what you would want to
supplement if you're trying to get all your amino acid chains.
Am using the right language, okay, because it's not a
complete source of protein, and so there's confusions sometimes I'm
(31:34):
kind of just throwing this part in. There is like
another question UM that a lot of people ask me
about are like, Okay, well wait, what are the benefits
of vital proteins? Like why do you take it? And
my main reasons are joint health. Um, I see a
difference in my skin, um, just overall I noticed when
I take it out. And my sister even started adding
(31:57):
it to to her coffee every day, and she's noticed
a difference like in her skin on her face, um,
less breakouts and stuff like that. But she's also at
the same time cutting out when she added that in,
she cut out gluten and dairy. So she's like, oh shoot,
which is it. Well, then she went through a phase
where she ran out of vital proteins and wasn't doing
it and certain stuff started popping up again. So then
(32:20):
she was like, oh, yeah, I figured out that that. Yes,
the gloom in the dairy are part of helping her too,
But that was a big component of keeping some stuff clear,
like even hormonally for her. Um, because I think for
women are hormones. I've even gone to a couple of
different people that have recommended that that can help keep
your like adrenal levels good. Like there's a lot of
(32:43):
stuff that's happening in our bodies. But um, when you're
looking at vital proteins collagen peptides as a protein supplement,
that's not the case, right, No, it's not a complete protein.
Like so on the back label it'll say protein, uh,
twelve grams per serving or some version of that. It's
(33:05):
not the same twelve grams of protein that is in
a chicken breast. They're too different. Like, it's just not
a complete protein. So if you work out, you don't
want to use collagen peptides as your post workout like
I'll add it to a protein shake. You can do that,
But you also need to add some other source of
(33:26):
real complete protein. Like I'm not going to get into
what protein powder, because that's a different debate of like
p protein verse way protein verse. I have one that
I love, so I'll shout out here in case people
want one. But it's pro mixed. It's all my Amazon
page radio Amy dot com if you want to access that,
and it's a chocolate vegan pro mix. And our friend
(33:48):
who I met through you, Mackenzie, she's the one that
recommended that one to me. And she knows what she's
talking about. Yeah for sure, Like she's hardcore, right, So, oh,
I mean I and I really like that one. So
that's what I use, Like if I'm going to be
working out or I know I haven't had a lot
of protein for the day or something, it's like an
(34:10):
easy way for me to get it in and I
just it's good mixed with water or I mix it
with like Califia Farms unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and I
throw some fresh mint in and maybe like a handful
of spinage or something, and it's so yummy and it's vegan. Two.
In case you happen to be vegan, it's not like
a way or anything like that. Um so yeah, alright, well,
(34:31):
I guess that will wrap our little Q and a
sesh with Bobo. I like at the beginning we had
a little motivational talk based on your quote. But that's good.
People are going to start the new year off strong. Um,
if you have resolutions, good luck. I don't really set them,
do you. Uh No, I don't. No, I set goals,
(34:52):
but they're kind of throughout the year. Yeah. I think
it's good to maybe set intentions for uh twenty, any
of the new year to come, Like what are your goals?
What do you want to do? What do you want
to accomplish. Some of my friends like make an actual
like vision book or like a vision board, but they
put it in like a journal. They just like cut
out pictures or like make drawings or sketch and like
(35:14):
it's good to have that visual. But yeah, I think
a lot of times people set goals, you know, resolutions,
and you don't meet them because they're usually pretty lofty,
and life gets in the way, and then you beat
yourself up, feel defeated, and then you don't even try
anything for the next eight months of the year because
(35:36):
you're like I just couldn't do that try anything else
just throughout the year. I think it's good to just,
like whether it's journal or make lists and write things
down and put intention to it without you know, necessarily
making two twenty. I'm gonna do these things. Oh we don't.
Oh I don't have one with you to give you
right now, But I'm going to give you our our
(35:58):
gratitude journal that we made because it's tied eye like
you're this is. I just have the sample right here.
This isn't even the real legit coffee, but here I'll
be able to write down every day for things get
at four Things podcasts four Things UM that you're thankful
for and their stickers and like prompts like that, questions
(36:20):
in the back in case you're stuck on like what
you could be thankful for? UM? And they support Haiti obviously,
but and there's different quotes like mixed in all throughout,
Like the first quote is when I started counting my blessings,
my whole life turned around. Willie Nelson. Have you ever
had someone talk about gratitude and journaling like gratitude and
(36:41):
the benefits to like overall health we have. But I
want to have one of my friends that well that
I lived with to my old roommate and we went
to college together. We were in the same sorority. She
um uh works for Benet Brown now and she's like,
so I have been messaging with her like in hopes
(37:04):
that maybe, um, we could get Burnet on. We actually
quoted Burnet in the Journal there is no joy without
gratitude her quote. Um, this is another quote that's in there.
This is a wonderful day. I've never seen this one before,
Maya Angelo because it's so good. Um, talking about our
problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit talk about
(37:27):
your joys. Um. But uh yeah, so never let the
things you want make you forget the things you have.
That's san Cheetah Pandy anyway. Uh No, I need to
have like an expert. I mean, I know Burnet is
a lofty goal, but she's on my vision board, like
I'm gonna keep up there, like she's gonna be actually
(37:48):
Mary and I would like for her to. Maybe We're
gonna do different additions like the tight Eye edition of
the journal, like once We're sold Out, which were sold
out of the first round, but we did a reorder
and once that order is gone, we're not gonna do
tight anymore. That's like the first edition. The next cover
will be different quotes, similar format, but different cover. Thataly,
people can collect the different editiones um. But our goal
(38:10):
would be to maybe have burtnet like endorse it. You
know how you get endorse from the book, like on
the like she can write the forward or something. Why
do you know somebody that could come on and talk
about gratitude. There's just so much. There's so much, Like
there's actually medical literature that supports like that's the I
thought it was hokey at first. It's not. It's there's
(38:32):
medical research that actually supports like depression treatment, like increasing
serotonin level, like all just by journaling and writing down
things you're grateful for every day. And I have a
lot of guests that come on the podcast where at
the end, like I just have them shared quickly like
(38:52):
like you would in that journal. Some things are going
to be deep. Some things might be you know, you're
awesome coffee that you have to drink in the morning, um,
or you know your friends that you got to hang
out with for Christmas or New Year's or whatever, Like
it can just be really quick, Um, it can be
your computer, because I mean, if you think about it,
not everybody has their own laptop. I mean it's something
(39:15):
we take for granted every day because we have our
computers or our cell phones, but some people don't have that. Um.
And I often ask guests before they go, like, share quickly,
four things you're grateful for, So let's do that with you.
Grateful for the hardships, and only because that's something we
just talked about with that quote, like the tough stuff.
(39:36):
Grateful for my friends who support me, and without them,
this whole vision of Arete and what I'm trying to
do would not be possible because I would go insane. Um.
Grateful for my mom and excited to see her and
excited I got to see her last before Christmas. But
it's stick with it and callie it mess it up,
(39:59):
and then I'm just grateful, like for today. You know,
I think that we take each day for for granted
sometimes and I do it. But in this moment right now,
I'm grateful for the day and the opportunity to be
on this podcast and and and just grateful for all
the opportunities that I've been afforded as of late and
so I'm grateful for today. Awesome. Okay, well thanks Bobo,
(40:21):
You're awesome. And maybe I'll have you come up maybe
before I get burnet, I'll have Bobo come do a
thing on gratitude and her like wax me on my
golf her stuff, or maybe I'll tell her maybe maybe
finally they'll get back to me and be like, hey, yeah,
you wanna um, you wanna have Berne on and be like, well,
I kind of already had Bobo on. We're good. Maybe
(40:41):
you can write the forward in our next officially endorsed
by Bobo exactly, Dash Bobo, Dash Bobo. Okay, Happy New Year, everybody.
Let's let's all yeah, Chase, you yell too. Happy New
Year one, two three, Happy
