Speaker 1 (00:04):
Okay, Happy Tuesday, everybody. Hope you're having a good one.
A big thank you to a lot of you that
are listening to Outweigh, which is my new Saturday series.
It's uploads on Saturday, just for the month of April though,
and it's about eating disorders, disordered eating, and got a
lot of good feedback from Saturday's episode, which was episode two.

(00:28):
So if you haven't subscribed to the podcast, but somehow
you're listening to these Q and A s or maybe
Thursday's Four Things episodes, subscribe so that way on Saturday
that loads up for you. And not that you might
You might not even have a history with any sort
of disordered eating, but maybe someone in your life does.
It would be good for you to understand maybe what
they're going through, or maybe you could share the podcast

(00:50):
with them. But it lives right here under four Things
with Amy Brown. And then also I want to make
sure you'll know that's where you send questions for this
Q and A segment on Tuesdays Four Things with Amy
Brown at gmail dot com. And that's where I pulled
these questions that we're about to go over. My husband
been is here? What up? And then on Tuesday's we're

(01:12):
also starting off with quotes, and this one I got
from our Four Things Gratitude journal. It's actually the very
first quote we included. We included several quotes throughout the
journal that way you felt encouraged as you were going
through practicing gratitude, but the very first one we put
in there is from Willie Nelson, and the quote is
when I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.

(01:36):
So there are positive things that come from expressing gratitude
and sitting down and thinking about what you're thankful for.
And one thing we've been doing with our family, since
we're a family of four, for four Things Gratitude, we
just each go around and say one thing and sometimes
Stevenson will write them down, maybe in the journal on

(01:56):
or in his little notebook, which you can practice four
Things gratitude whether you have our journal or not. You
can do it verbally, you can do it in your phone,
you can do it in any all notebook. But we
go around and typically when we're eating dinner and everyone
has to say one thing that they were thankful for
during the day. It's challenging because we say that like
no answer is like the wrong answer. But if they

(02:17):
say grilled corn every night, then like you gotta like
you're like, okay, we got it. We're having corn, but like,
let's brawn it out. Like our children are slightly obsessed
with grilled corn right now. I don't know what because
I'm a grill master. Yeah it is because we're home
a lot more in the weather is getting better and
you're busting out the grill and it is. It's good.
It's good. It's good. Grill outs are good for the

(02:40):
sult So I recommend during I don't know what the
weather is like with your social isolization, why do you say,
I don't know where those came from. So when it
came out, yeah, I make up my own words. Here
you'll learn that about me. But during social I still lation. Uh.

(03:02):
Think of ways that you can do family stuff like
grilling out. We put a big like on our back porch.
We don't really have a table out there to eat,
so we put a big old blanket down and had
to grill out picnicked and the kids loved it. And
then we laid on our backs and looked at the
clouds and the kids picked out shapes and that was
a lot of fun. So for us it was like

(03:23):
a little family date night, but we didn't have to
leave the house. Okay, you want to get started with questions.
First one is from Jessica. Hey me, at some point
you mentioned your go to new color and brand. I
believe it's neutral white. Do you mind sharing that again? Yes,
it is op I funny Bunny, and I'm obsessed with it.
It's still on my nails from my manicure I don't know,
like six weeks ago, which I got gel, so it's

(03:45):
totally growing out. But they sell it in non gel,
so you can just order it online or if you
happen to be going to a drug store or something
like that, be safe when you're out and about, but
you could probably pick it up there. O p I
funny Bunny. What's your favorite nail color? Clear glaze. I
don't know, your nails are looking good more like donuts,

(04:08):
Oh donuts. I've been working in the dirt. I've got
dirt under mines. Well, I know, but I know that
biting your nails is something you've really been working hard
on because you can't touch your face so and you
can't bite your nails, so especially with coronavirus. It's really
helped you stop and I just wanted to acknowledge that
I've noticed that, and I'm proud of you, and yes,

(04:29):
and be proud of the dirt on your nails. Because
we've also been gardening while we've been home. Another thing
that's been awesome. Our kids planted some cilantro and little
banana peppers, and then we got plants for the front
yard and that's been another family bonding thing. Potted some ferns.
It really does spruce things up. It's not that hard either,

(04:52):
just a little gotta get your hands dirty. Next question, alright,
this is from Amy in Wisconsin. Hi, Amy, do you
use self tanny drop for your face? If so, what brand?
Any helpful attempts would help appreciate it? What would be
helpful with a warmer weather upon us? Okay, yeah, I know,
warmer weather, but we're not leaving our house, so to me,
I haven't been really tanning that much at all. But

(05:15):
I do love James Reid's H two O tan missed.
I had that on my Amazon page, but it is
sold out, but you might be able to find it
on other websites, So I'll let you know that that's
my favorite. But I just ordered myself because I saw
my friend Madison post about it. And it's called tan
Suticals Facial Self Tanner, and it's a CC self taining

(05:37):
lotion for your face. It says it gives a natural,
long lasting, sunless tan, it's a fresh coconut scent. It
won't clog purse or cause acne. Full disclosure. I just
ordered it. It just came in the mail, so I
haven't even tried it out yet, but I trust my
friend Madison a lot, so I went ahead and added
it to my Amazon page because I will be trying
it out in the next week or so. I'll keep

(05:58):
you all posted, but that could be an option for
you and my Amazon pages Radio amay dot com. You
can see my Amazon Favorite things. That way, you can
make sure you're buying the same one that I got
or that my friend Madison recommended, or you can just
type it in yourself tan Suticals Facial self Tanner. Next

(06:25):
question from Leah, you keep wearing these cute Nike pullovers.
Can you share where you got them? Also, I think
I heard somewhere that there's a new cool mom tied
I t available, but I Honestly, you don't have any
idea where you buy them either, even though I'm sure
you said it a million times. Okay, Leah, Yes, the
Nike pullovers are amazing. I got those on Amazon. I
linked those on my page. Again. That's Radio Amay dot com.

(06:47):
And there's a clothing tab if you click on that.
It might be the only clothing options on there, because
I don't really buy any clothes from Amazon, but the
pullovers I have been getting. And yes, there is a
new cool mom tied I t available. There's also a
new cool mom like sweatshirt pull over, a new V neck.
And if y'all are doing any Mother's Day shopping, now
is the time to do it because you can shop

(07:08):
from home, order it from your house. If you're not
seeing your mom for Mother's Day, which we're all likely
not going to be seeing much family in the next
few months, you can have it shipped to her and
she'll still feel special. Or maybe if your mom and
you want to treat yourself to something, or you want
your husband to order you something, just send him to
a link to the stuff that we have um four

(07:31):
Things dot com. We'll actually cool Mom is at shop
espoa but again, there's so many different ways to get there.
I like to just send you all to radio Amy
dot com because that's the easiest. But if you want
to customize a four Things tote for your mom, we
do have a discount code for that right now and
that ends this Thursday, April six, and the discount code
is mom and that's for the customized tote, so don't

(07:53):
forget can get a discount if if you want to
do that as well. Sweet from Ali. Hey Amy, I've
searched everywhere and may still be just missing it, but
I'm curious as to what brand your face mask light is.
I'm searching and keep finding all different ones at different
prices and have no idea what's best. And I trust
you since it seems to be you seem to use
yours quite a bit. Okay, this is kind of I

(08:14):
guess the Beauty Amazon episode of Questions. I have this
linked on my Amazon page. So and it's the nor Lana.
I never really know for sure how to say that
L E D L E ed mask face um phototherapy
mask thing, that's what it is. It's white, it looks scary,

(08:35):
it's got red. What are the other colors? Maybe green blue.
I think so each color does a different thing and
you can look it up and read about it. But
that's the one that my face person recommended for me
at the Nashville Beauty Girl on Instagram and I have it,
My sister has it, Mary has it. Do you ever

(08:56):
use it? Ben? Be honest, but you need to give
your significant other like a heads up before you put
it on, because if they just walk in the room
and see, that could be frightening. Yeah, it might scare
them a little bit, but hey, it's fine. Um. But
that's it. And again, you can invite it on my
Amazon page and I'll read this last one. I pulled
this one from d It's more of just a recommendation

(09:17):
and she said, Hey, Amy, big fan of the show
on your podcast. I started listening to the Bobby Bones
Show when I was searching for radio stations and I
heard you. It was when I first heard you saying
you were adopting kids. Your voice was so sweet and comforting.
What do you think about that? It is very sweet
and company. Oh that's nice. I thought you were going

(09:37):
to counter that, Well, you haven't heard her non sweet,
non comforting voice. Never Okay, continue with the email then
I of course fell in love with everyone on the show. Well,
I don't want to ramble on, but I've always wanted
you to have Mike d on your podcast. I think
his weight loss story is inspiring. I heard you say
something on the show last week that you think you
might put him on your podcast, um to talk about movies,

(10:01):
because he has a podcast called Mike's Movie Podcast. So anyway,
he's basically just saying she wants me to have Mike
on to talk about his weight loss and talk about
movie recommendations. So d I'm here to let you know
I'm actually gonna have movie Mike on my podcast this Thursday,
So he'll be one of my four things on that
Thursday episode. So that'll be something for you all to

(10:22):
look forward to. And he does have an inspiring story
and he's lost over something pounds and he's really into movies.
So I thought we would go over movies that like
three movies or maybe we'll do four to stick with
the four things theme that make you that are make
you cry, because some people just might need to really

(10:42):
have a good cry right now, and then maybe four
movies that make you laugh, just in case you need
to have balance the tears in the laughter and end
with the laughter one. Yeah, you don't want to end
on sex and when people might not be able to
watch two movie. Oh yeah, like we'll start with the
crying ones and then five minutes I'm happy. Now, We're
okay with expressing all kinds of emotions. I am. I

(11:04):
just want to be sad the rest of the day. Yeah,
or have sad dreams. We're not going to watch the
sad movie on the podcast. We're just recommending them, just
making some commentary. Okay, thank you for that, and thank
you for joining me for the Q and a. UM.
I hope that everyone has a great rest of their day,
whatever day it is that you're listening to this, and
don't forget email me. I want to hear from you.
