Speaker 1 (00:01):
Okay, little food for yourself life. Oh it's pretty bay,
it's pretty beautiful thing. That's a little month you'll kicking

(00:30):
with four. Happy Thursday and welcome to the Gift Guide episode.
I'm Amy and I'm Mary, and our hope for this
episode is that you walk away with some gift ideas,
some that give back and some that don't, just gifts
that we like to help you with your holiday shopping.
And we also hope that you'll gain some knowledge on

(00:51):
how you can impact some amazing organizations with some of
your purchases, and that you'll get a chance at some
awesome giveaways we have sprinkled throughout the episode. Also in
this episode, we're going to tell you about the new
golden tickets that will be going out inside some randomly
chosen orders from the shop forward this week. So these
are like Willy Wonka style golden tickets. Some of the

(01:12):
golden tickets will be worth a hundred dollars, and then
we will have one big golden ticket worth five dollars.
And then, as promised, we are revealing the winner of
the last week's round trip flight giveaway. But get this,
we're gonna be doing another round trip Southwest flight giveaway.
Inside this episode, in addition to the Southwest flight giveaway,

(01:34):
we have something special for those of you that are
big Bobby Bones show listeners. We're gonna have a Pimp
and Joy hat signed by the whole show to give away.
And then some of you may know that Mary and
I are obsessed with Zero skincare. We use those products
all the time, we talk about them, and we're gonna
be giving away a free virtual skin consultation so that
you'll know exactly what products you need. And then that

(01:56):
giveaway package will include the free Zero products that are
perfect for you. You will also have a root House
coffee package to give away that you don't want to
miss out on if you love coffee or if you
just know someone else that does a big coffee lover.
And then my daughter Stashira, she's giving away one of
her customized to Splad bracelets. Now her bracelets, they typically
sell out and I don't know, Mary like less than

(02:16):
a minute, like super fast, super fast, so they are
a hot item. Another fun announcement is that we are
super excited to bring back are signed or things affirmation
cards you mean, I will be putting a personalized card
in orders. That go out from the shop board this week,
so we'll have a limited amount that we have signed
and we will personalize just for you. So the sooner
you place an order, the more likely you are to

(02:37):
get a personalized affirmation card from us. Now. The cards
are coral and pink, and the four affirmations written on
the super cute card are you are kind, You're smart,
you are worthy, you are loved. And there's also a
quote on the back of the car that we love
that says, become like a bird, expand your wings, learn
new things, and fly as high as you can. When

(02:59):
we include a these cards in shop forward orders a
few months ago, a lot of people when they got them,
they tagged us on Instagram so we could see them,
and they hung them up in their bathrooms or in
their daughter's rooms, or they even frame them put them
at their desk. Yes, it's been super cool to see
and we've even seen several teachers put them up in
their classrooms. They really are so cute And just a

(03:19):
little fun fact to share with you about the Four
Things podcast theme song. In case you did not know,
the song that plays at the beginning of each episode
is by Walker Hayes. So we have a really cool
giveaway from Walker which real quick. Want to give a
shout out and say congrats to Walker because he has
the number one song on country radio this week with
fancy like like Apple on a day night gets a barmester,

(03:42):
you stay with the ol shake. It's a wet cream
on a tattoo. Shows on Shack got to be like
Nattie and the Staff, swee sweak in the tube And
so again, since Walker sings Amy's Four Things podcast theme song,
we have a giveaway from him to do right now.
And this is our first of several giveaways that we

(04:03):
have during this episode. Hey, what up four Things? Famius
Walker Hayes, And because we're all about hashtag pimp and joy,
I'm here to offer a little fancy like packets that
includes a merch item of your choice, two tickets V
I p M Meet and greet to one of my
upcoming shows in two and an Applebee's gift card. You
can hit up Walker Hayes dot com to see if

(04:24):
I'm in a city near you, and Amy will fill
you in on how to have a shot at this
if you want to come to a show. Merry Christmas
and happy shopping. Okay, So if you want a shot
at this fancy like package, screenshot this episode and put
it in your Instagram stories. We're gonna be looking for
text that says I love Walker Hayes on the screenshot.

(04:47):
Now you'll notice this is a theme throughout the episode.
We said, We've got a lot of different giveaways for you,
and there's gonna be different texts that we need on
each screen shot. That way we know what you're trying
to win. So for this one, I love Walker Hayes,
and make sure to tag me at Radio Amy so
that I see it. And again I'm emphasizing that you
need to put I love Walker Hayes so that I

(05:08):
know that you want a shot at these v I
p meet and greet tickets to hang out with Walker,
have a little date night at Applebee's, and get some
of his fancy like merch. So when it comes to
Christmas shopping, we both think that it's always fun to
give a gift that gets back, and it's also fun
to receive a gift that gives back knowing that it
gives back. And that's one of the whole reasons I
founded the Shop Forward six years ago. I wanted to

(05:30):
give people away to shop and pay it forward at
the same time. So it's so cool to see that
because of people like you shopping, the Shop Forward has
been able to donate over five million dollars to various
causes and charities and specific people to better their lives,
and that would not be possible without awesome people like you,
guys shopping, So we hope that you'll consider some of
our items and shopping this year. We also have non

(05:52):
shop for a gift ideas to share with you that
we love, and I actually want to share one with
you right now because I'm obsessed with it. It's my
ug robe that I got recently, and it's a little
pricier than some of the other ideas that we have,
but it's amazing and it's going to be like my
go to gift for all of my like super close
friends and family this year. I don't ever take it off,
and I think it's really special and not something that

(06:12):
you normally buy for yourself. And then on kind of
a less expensive um idea that I think is super
fun and special is I'm really into gifting disposable cameras
right now, and a lot of people under the age
of like twenty or like, what the heck is this?
They don't even know what it is, but it's fun
how it just kind of makes you remember experiences and
kind of makes it fun to go get them developed.

(06:34):
But it's just kind of a fun throwback gift. Now.
I love that idea so much, and I think that
that is something that you could really get anyone at
any age and get a few, especially if you have
a family gathering, and then yeah, when you go get them,
you know developed. You never know what surprises you're going
to have on the camera, which is what we used
to have to deal with back when we were in
high school. We didn't have an option of oh, let's

(06:55):
take it again, Oh let's take it again. Nope, we
were stuck with what we had. And I saw Mary
post a picture of her in her ug robe and
it definitely looked super comfortable and cozy. So definitely like
that suggestion. And the shot Forward is on the shot
forward website. So these shot forward dot Com, these other
gift ideas that we're sharing, they will all be listed there.

(07:17):
So you have a whole gift guide section part of
the website. Yeah, so if you go to the website,
you just click Gift Guide and they'll be all the
shot forward items under category like gifts for Her, Gifts
for him, gifts for kids. But then they'll also be
a section where you can click that says like Amy
and Mary's favorite gift ideas, and basically that it'll just
be listed some of the ones we talk about, but
way way, way more too. So we're just gonna touch

(07:40):
on a few of them, but things that are not
found on the shopboard, and we'll have links things on
like Amazon or this is on the bugg side or
you know, things like that or Target or something like that. Yeah, okay,
So on a related note back to the disposable cameras,
just throwing out the idea of maybe gifting Legacy Box
to someone that's in your family. Now that's a company

(08:00):
that we work with on the Bobby Bones Show, but
I've actually personally used it myself, so I know this
is not the Bobby Bone Show, but I have the
code to that. So just know if you go to
legacy box dot com and you put in code Bones,
you'll save some money on your order. But it's a
really cool gift. I've gifted it to people in my
family and you can get the box and then give
it to them and then it's empty and they can

(08:22):
fill it up with old vhs or old family photos
or stuff that you want to make digital and then
everyone gets to enjoy it. And it's fun to have
that stuff to post on socials or send in emails
with family members or you know, Facebook, Instagram, Throwback Thursday
stuff like that. And I think that that's a special gift.
So you have like a mom in your life. Maybe
I'm just picturing like if my mom was still alive,

(08:44):
she would love if I gave her a Legacy Box
and she would go dig through her huge pile of
pictures and throw them in there and then they would
be digital. So in fact, my sister and I are
slowly working on the big box of pictures we inherited
from my mom because we want to digitize a lot
of them. So Legacy Box just throwing that out there
as a gift idea. And you know how the news

(09:06):
keeps saying to shop early because of supply chain issues,
I mean they're not lying, right. Mary. First of all,
you experienced this firsthand running the shop forward and having
to order things. But also you live in California near
the port and you can see the containers from your house. Yes,
it's really strange and crazy to see it actually visually

(09:26):
when you hear everybody talking about the backup, it's support.
And I can just look at at the ocean and
see all the ships lined up, and that has a
lot of our items, honestly that we're not able to,
you know, do reorders on or things like that because
there's just things out on the boat. So we're trying
to have a lot of grace for these companies and
everybody's going through it. It's not just us. And if
you see an increase in prices from certain places, well

(09:48):
a lot every place, or increase in shipping prices. It's
a worldwide problem at the moment and has been, you know,
ever since really the start of COVID. So it's a reality.
We're all having a face and the news isn't lying.
The issues are real. So we thought we would try
to do whatever we could do to encourage anyone who
is a procrastinator like me. I put myself in that

(10:10):
category to go ahead and get their shopping done a
S a P. And that's where our golden tickets are
coming in as some incentive So what we've decided to
do is that anyone that does their holiday shopping with
the Shot Forward this week, So starting today November eleven
through next weekend, you'll have a shot at receiving a
golden ticket in your package. Yes, we'll have five golden

(10:34):
tickets worth a hundred dollars or future purchases at the
shop forward dot com. So you haven't you get a
chance to win a hundred dollar gift card that will
come in your package as a surprise. So the golden
tickets will go out randomly and orders that are placed
this week and this week only just to encourage you
to shop at early. For example, if you order a
Belief sweasher for the Ted Lasso fan in your life,
or if you order this is my Christmas Movie Watching

(10:55):
sweashert for your BFF that loves Hallmark Christmas movies or
all those net Loo Christmas movies that are so amazing
and I cannot wait till we'll start watching them, you
might get a hundred golden ticket in your package. Then
we also have a really big golden ticket worth five
dollars for future purchases at the Shop Forward. So we'll
tell you more about that in a minute. But first
we're going to hear from or Losers. Yeah, my co

(11:16):
workers from the Bobby Bones Show, Lunchbox Eddie and Sissan Raimundo.
They also host their sports podcast is Sore Losers, and
they have something they would like to share with you all.
We are the one to three sore Losers holiday in
what holiday? Sissons? I get some toys, get some presents.

(11:37):
Shops or losers dot com. That's the place to be, Eddie,
tell them what they can get. I mean, we got
sweatshirts and T shirts at say coach because that's our phrase,
our catchphrase that we use. Yeah coach. I mean we
call each other coach. You know a coach in your life,
maybe the coach at your household, the coaching you know
of Little league? Yeah, wear it to bed, wear it
to school. Where when you're just laying around at home,
you can wear these sweatshirts, these hoodies, the couzies. You

(11:59):
can you is it all the time when you're out
in the snow, where one of our hoodies. Keep your
ears warm, keep your hands warm. And I mean all
you gotta do is go to shop store losers dot
com and listen every shirt, T shirt sweatshirt. Everyone you
purchase a little bit of money goes back to charity,
and we love charity. Love it like Kit Powers, one
organization that helps the inner city youth gives them an

(12:20):
after school program here in Nashville, and the money goes
to that. Also Urban Promise Nashville dot org, which is
an organization that helps refugee children they're living in America.
So you look at that. So you buy something for
your loved one and you help out a good cost.
So shop store Losers dot com, Shop store Losers dot com,
shop store Losers dot com, and also listen to the
store Losers podcast at wherever you listen to podcasts, not

(12:42):
at shop store Losers dot com. Okay, so the guys
mentioned shops store Losers dot com. But that'll take you
directly to the shop Forward. You'll realize that once you
type it in. In fact, all of the giveback items
that we're sharing today can be found at the shop
forward dot com. There's just a lot of different ways
to get to the website. Mary really likes purchasing domains.

(13:07):
She likes excel sreadsheets and domains and trademarking things. So
shops or Losers dot com will get you there also
four things dot com. You may hear us mention that
or even shop spua dot com. So really, when in
doubt these shot forward dot com will get you to
everything that pays it forward. And Mary, why don't you explain,
like if you go to the main page of the website,

(13:29):
how you can shop by cause. Yeah, So if you
just want to go to the website because you're you're
hearing about a bunch of these items and you want
to search, you can search by cause. On the left.
You can click the little box about either the fund
or the charity about it, or you can always just
go and like search on the search tab. There's like
a little magnifying glass and just put in some keywords
and then it'll bring up those items as well. Like

(13:50):
we have stuff that supports wags and walks Nashville which
works with animals. So if you've got a dog lover
in your life or a cat lover, then you might
want to get them the dog Mom pull over or
the cat Bomb pull over. And then do we have
dog dad We do. We have dog Dad poddies. And
if their animal lovers are obviously if they have pets,

(14:13):
they'll also get a little card with their order that
says what it gives back to, so hopefully you know
when you give it, you can feel good and hopefully
they'll like that. It's like paying it forward. That's a
good thing to mention. Like any item that we're talking about,
how it pays it forward will be included because, yeah,
if you're giving it to someone as a gift and
you made sure you were intentional about it giving back,
you want them to know what it's supporting. So I

(14:35):
want to touch on the big golden ticket that's worth
five hundred dollars. Mary, tell us about that one. Okay,
so you created this big one to celebrate our four
Things puzzle because we are so obsessed with it and
put in so much work and it was fun work,
but it was like every little detail we really did
think through on this puzzle. So the big Golden ticket
will randomly be put in a puzzle order that is

(14:56):
placed this week only. So you've been thinking about getting
our fun, colorful puzzle that says it's fine, I'm fine,
everything's fine, and have all kinds of fun stuff around it.
Some of our favorite things. Now is a time to order.
Everyone loves doing puzzles around the holidays, Christmas, Thanksgiving. I
know my family we definitely bust out puzzles more and
more just because we're spending time together more naturally, which

(15:19):
I love. So if you want to order one and
anticipation of that just doing it with your family. If
there's anyone in your family or friends that you think
would appreciate a puzzle, now is the time to check
that off your list. And doing that, you also get
a chance of getting a golden ticket worth five to
spend on future pushsses at the Shop Forward. Yeah, and
you can feel good about your puzzle purchase knowing that

(15:39):
it gives back to Haiti and Haiti is a place
that both Mary and I love. We traveled there a
lot together when I was in the process of adopting
Stevenson and Stashira, and then over the years we've met
some really amazing people doing life changing work down there,
and we've been able to be a part of supporting
these people and their work because of other is like

(16:00):
a lot of you listening because you have you know,
been intentional with your shopping and you've ordered things from
our SPOA line. Now a spa means hope in Haitian creole.
And when you shop as Spa, you are literally spreading
hope to people in Haiti. And one of the organizations
that we support is Project Meta Share. And here's our
friend Jenna, and she's actually sharing how your shopping can

(16:23):
help change lives Hi. This is Jenna from Project men
to Share and I want to share with you a
little about the work that we do in Haiti. Project
Meta Share provides comprehensive healthcare and community services to more
than eighty thou people every year in Haiti's Central Plateau.
One of our most important programs is our Orphan and
Vulnerable Children program that protects the most at risk youth

(16:45):
in our communities. As part of this program, we enroll
the kids in school, pay their school tuition, provide all
of their school supplies, and we provide year round healthcare
to the kids and their entire families. We also provide
psycho social support, plus after school totis and meals for
the kids. Since two thousand eight, this program has helped
thousands of students receive an education, empowering them to help

(17:08):
their families and give back to their country. Sadly, we
recently lost the funding for this program. So we are
faced with having to severely reduce or shut down the
program entirely at the beginning of This would be devastating
for the hundreds of children and families currently enrolled in
this program. We need your help this holiday season to

(17:28):
raise the funds needed to keep this important program going,
to keep the children in school and allow them to
receive the healthcare and support that they need. For just
fifty dollars, you can pay school tuition for a child
in Haiti for an entire year. Every time you buy
an item from a SQUA you're directly changing the life
of a child in Haiti. We can't say thank you

(17:49):
enough to Amy and Mary and to every one of
you who has purchased in a SQUA item and supported
our work in Haiti thus far. We hope you will
choose a SQUAD for all of your holiday gifts. We
can say this important program and continue providing hope in Haiti.
Wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday season
and sending so much love in gratitude from all of

(18:09):
us at Project Met to Share in Haiti. So under
our spawline we have various four things items, and one
of them actually is not usually able to be featured
in our Gift Guide because it's personalized and custom and
we don't usually have the time, but because we're re
releasing this earlier, we actually can put the custom four
Things tote, which was kind of our o G four
Things item, right, No, it was the o G. Like,

(18:31):
there would be no four Things podcast if it wasn't
for the four Things to fun fact, So that's such
a fun, thoughtful gift that makes people really special when
they get it because you think of four things either
that are special to them, their favorite four things for
things to encourage them, and you put it on a toe,
and that alone it's a great gift. But you could
also like put a fit view of their favorite things
in the tote as a gift. We always love when

(18:53):
we see people do that too, and they also look
super cute just under a tree of four things. Toe
are probably most popular. Four Things out in My Now
is our pullover that says it's fine, I'm fine, Everything
is fine. You're sensing a theme from the puzzle and
just kind of the state of the world and everyone's
lives right now. Maybe that's why it's so popular, but
it's also just really cute and it looks cute with playings, jeans, sweatpants.

(19:15):
It's just kind of an easy item to throw on.
And we have a few different variations of it. In
a T shirt, accorded crew that's a little bit more oversized,
we have the regular pull over, so you can see
all of those, like Amy said, at four Things dot com,
or just go to the gift guide. Also, I will
say about the four Things tote, it's something Mary and
I carry every day to work. We put our computer

(19:37):
in it. We also love to travel with it. And
then if it stresses you out to customize one. We
think that's the best way to go when it's a
gift because it's super personal and thoughtful. But also we
have pre made options available so that way it takes
the thinking out of it. And maybe you can look
at some of our pre made options and be like, oh,
that fits the vibe of my friend, and you just

(19:57):
get them that one. And then like Mary said, it
looks super cute under a Christmas tree with tissue coming
out of it, or like you just put a bow
on the handle and while la maybe throw of some
of their favorite you know, candies inside and boom, cute
little gift and Also under the four things line is
we have t v T s. So if you have
a friend that loves The Golden Girls or The Office
or Ship's Creek or ted Lasso, we have t shirts

(20:22):
that rep all of those shows and they're so cute.
I actually had a friend text me the other day
that wanted to get the I'm fine, it's fine, and
so I just told her, Oh, go to four things
dot com and she went and she was like, oh
my gosh, I had no idea y'all had Golden Girls shirts.
I'm buying all of them for all my friends. Like
think of if your group of friends has a show
that you're all obsessed with, like Boom, you just give

(20:44):
everybody like a friend's t v T and you will
be good to go. Or if you have a friend
that is a mom or like works a lot or
could really use a nap or whatever their profession is
or whatever is keeping them so busy and they're very tired,
we also have a super cute I need a nap,
tea and pull over. So those are some options. Really,

(21:06):
I think that if you were to make a list
of everyone in your life, we likely have a tea
or a pull over. That would fit their vibe. I'm
just gonna go ahead and throw that out there. And
last week we put up a round trip flight giveaway
and asked you all to share with us in your
Instagram story someone that you think could really use this flight,
and we got so many nominations and it's never easy

(21:28):
to just pick one person, and we really do wish
that we could pull an Oprah and be like, you
get a fly, do you get a flight? You get
a flight. And while we can't do that, what we
have decided to do is give another flight away later
on in this Gift Guide episode. But what we want
to do right now is we want to reveal the
recipient of last week's round trip flight. Hey Lauren, Hey,

(21:53):
do you know why you were on this zoom call
right now? I thought I was doing a house store
for my friend Lauren. Okay, well it's not a house tour.
But your friend Lauren is on the zoom here. You
can see her, and I'm going to let her explain
to you what she did. And Yeah, what's happening here, Lauren?
It is just so difficult with COVID and all the

(22:15):
things been going on for you to get away from school.
And I know that this Thanksgiving break is coming up
and that your husband is not going to be at
home since he is in the military, And I was
just hoping that perhaps you might want a flight to
come to d C and visit us for Thanksgiving? Are

(22:36):
you kidding me? Know? The Shop Forward and Shop s
Box picked us going to d C? Wait? Yeah, Lauren
in like two weeks? What is that? Okay, that's more
than okay? Excellent? Yes, Okay, So, Lauren Waits, I know

(22:57):
that she mentioned that it's hard for you to go
away from school. Are you a teacher? Yes? I teach
fourth grade special ed in Louisiana at Fort Polk. Okay,
so I assume having a break from school would be amazing. Um. Yes,
and especially a breakaway from school where I don't stay here,
where I can go somewhere else. Yeah. And so your
husband's gonna be gone, and so this will be kind

(23:20):
of like a friend's giving situation. I didn't know how
this was going to work out, but it's so cool,
And you have a sneaky little friend here that definitely
was looking out for you, and it's so cool that
she nominated you. And just to everyone listening right now,
We've got so many amazing nominations and said it before,
I'll say it again, wish we could give a flight
to everybody, but I am thankful that it worked out

(23:41):
this way to know that, yeah, we're able to give
this flight to a teacher and also the spouse of
someone that's serving in our military. It's super cool. And
you've got a good little friend there. And your friend Lauren,
I do she's the best. I mean, I thought this
was going to be looking at spare bedrooms and a
this is way better, Like the house is cool, but

(24:04):
this is way better. Okay, awesome. Well, our hope is
that you have an amazing Thanksgiving. Your cup is filled
up taking a trip to see your friend Lauren. And yeah,
thank you so much for accepting our gift. Oh my gosh,
I'll accept it a million times over. Thank you so much.
All Right, keep listening. We've got more gift ideas and
giveaways coming up. We got the idea to giveaway flights

(24:29):
because we saw an article that said one of the
number one gifts people wanted to receive this holiday season
was a flight or gift cards to travel. So that's
something to keep in mind when you're looking at your
list of people that you're shopping for this year, Maybe
find out what airline they need and you can get
them gift cards towards a trip they want to take.
Experiences are also good gift ideas, so thank concert tickets,

(24:49):
supporting events, massages, maybe some other fun outing that you
can do with that person. So it's the shared gift
of time together too. Yeah, No, I mean I think yes,
if there's a sporting event near you, or some sort
of thing you could go do together, Like do they
like to go rock climbing, get one of those rock
climbing gyms or something like what's something interactive? Or like

(25:10):
a comedy show? Do you both love headn McMahon, Like,
get tickets to her comedy show because I would love
to get that, Like that's so fun. You just kind
of kind of think outside the box. Maybe just google
things that are coming to your city in two and
you can go ahead and snag the tickets because a
lot of stuff you may have to this is like
you're planning in advance. You're giving them a gift that

(25:31):
they're going to really enjoy and be thankful that you
thought of them now, because later on it might sell
out you know. Walker Hayes was just on a minute
ago with his little giveaway, which is amazing. That might
be something fun you could bond with your daughter over
if she happens to be a fan or your best
friend or y'all like to do the TikTok dances or
whatever that is. And I think tickets to his shows

(25:53):
are like twenty five dollars. And mckensey Porter is opening
for him, and she is amazing, like she's so good.
She has a current song with Dustin Lynch on the
radio right now, and she's from Canada that she's going
to be on Walker's tour, and so that's just something
where you could look up if he's coming to a
city near you. Snacks and tickets be good to go. Now.
I did see an article on Christmas gifts that we

(26:15):
should try to avoid. I'm not sure that I agree
with everything, but I thought, well, that's something we could
go over on the gift a guide that would be
a little bit different. And the number one thing on
the list they said to avoid was anything Jim related,
which I think we could all understand why that's probably
not the best gift ideas because it could be perceived
the wrong way. They did say, however, that running shoes

(26:35):
were okay, because I think that falls under like style category.
Yeah at leisure, it doesn't necessarily mean you need to
start running. One of my gifts suggestions is the Bala Bengals,
which are those wrist and ankle weights that are so cute.
The woman that created them she was on Shark Tank
and they come in so many different fun colors now

(26:57):
like free people sells them or you can even find
them on Amazon like every different color combo. But I
feel like that's an okay gift to get a girlfriend
and it's not offensive. But if you have a girlfriend
that loves to go on walks or maybe you'll walk together,
she's your walking partner, I feel like those Bengals would
be super cute, or maybe your mom would like them,
or your daughter or your sister. And then a pair

(27:18):
of Nikes since it said running shoes are okay, I
am obsessed with Nike air Zoom Super Rep two. I'll
say it again, Nike air Zoom Super Rep two. I
think I'm saying it correctly. But I first saw these
because an ad kept coming up on my Instagram for them,
and I clicked on them, and then pretty much every
girl in Nashville that I hang out with also got

(27:42):
that ad because they also have these shoes, and so
I have since ordered them in two other colors. That's
how much I wear them and love them. So I
feel like that's a good running shoe or just sporty
athletic type shoe that looks good with every day where
like leggings and maybe it's fine. I'm fine, everything is fine.
Pull over and your nikes and while all you have

(28:03):
a cute outfit. Now back to the article on Christmas
gifts to avoid, they said any gift that requires them
to spend more money, for example a gift card, which
means they'll probably have to spend their own money. I
disagree with this big time because it's like, no, if
you get them money towards something that you know they
will actually like, then I appreciate having. That's where it

(28:26):
is if you know that they go there normally, because
I have gotten gift cards to places that are kind
of random, but I know they're nice, but it's like
not something like it's new to me, and so I
would be going out of my way to go there,
and it's kind of like Okay, if I do this,
I'm gonna be spending like this much more of my
own money too. I don't know, I kind of get it,
I guess. Just make sure it's something that they would
be spending money on anyways. No, I agree with that

(28:47):
for sure. I just yeah, as long as you know
that they will use it and they go there, then
it's awesome to have a gift card to there, or
if it's something new, just make sure it covers the
whole experience. Yes, and so Mary does this out Forward
have gift cards? We do? Oh yeah, have good cards. Yeah. See.
So if you have a friend that's obsessed with the
shot Forward, if you got them a twenty gift card,

(29:09):
that would be okay because you know that they will
end up spending it. Um. The article goes on to
say getting anything sexy for your friends probably not. You
just leave that to like couples clothing again, when you
don't know the person's size, Like if you buy too small,
it's awkward, if you buy too big, it's insulting. But
also this, I feel like there's a way around this

(29:32):
to where you could get your friend a cute sweatshirt
or a cute pair of leggings, Like, I think it
just depends on how close you are to the person,
like what guys do you prefer in a like blah
blah blah. Or and also oversized is really in So
I feel like it's not that says it's like insulting
if you get a bigger size. But I don't think
necessarily because I think people I would love to get
a sweatshirt, even if it's way too big for me,

(29:52):
because it's like, oh really, I'm sharing those article so
we can like counter it with everything. But another one
that's on here is souvenirs that you picked up on
a recent trip. If you're giving that to them for Christmas,
then it's kind of rubbing it in their face. I'm like, oh, okay,
also checks, which who really writes checks anymore? Maybe this

(30:12):
is just for older people that are listening, but cash
is preferred, or even theven mowing something I mean doesn't
seem too thoughtful or personal to be to your friend,
like hey, what's up? It just bevin moo? Do you
fifty bucks for Christmas? But hey, some people might want
the money, Okay. So that's pretty much what was mentioned
in that article of Christmas gifts to avoid um but

(30:33):
something that I am using all of the time, and
I think everyone needs to add to their kitchen table,
their their dining room table, your living room, wherever you
put together puzzles. Earlier, Mary was talking about our big
Golden ticket going out with our four Things puzzle. And again,
if if you have someone of your life that loves puzzles,
getting them a puzzle is one thing. If you want

(30:54):
to take it next level, you need to get them
a Bits and Pieces tabletop puzzle boy word again pairs
nicely with our puzzle or not. You could just get
on this like this is such a great gift if
someone loves puzzles, but maybe they wouldn't necessarily buy it
from themselves. It keeps the puzzle neat together in one place.
You can actually go from room to room if you

(31:15):
choose to start working on the puzzle in a different location,
Whereas if you do it on the dining room table,
you're kind of stuck there you can't really pick it
up and move it. But if you do it on
the table top, you're good to go. And it comes
with sorting dwars, which that I'm like geek all over.
Cool puzzle things, and it's just so nice to have
these sorting drawers. Another thing I want to mention that

(31:37):
I was probably frowned upon is getting anybody like cooking
appliances for Christmas, because that could also be seen as insulting.
Maybe if you're a husband listening and you get your
wife like wonder bread or a vacuum, Yeah, probably the
best idea something like that, But an air fryer if
you do not have an air fryer in your life, Like,

(31:58):
I'm just mentioning it here because that might be something
you need to put on your Christmas list and be like, hey, honey,
it's okay, you can buy this for me. I'm not
gonna be mad. Or you need to buy it for yourself,
or you need to like make a deal with your
best friend, Like I'll get you an air fryer if
you get me an air fryer because I use mine
all the time. Oh yeah, air fire changed how I
cook everything, Like it makes everything so easy and quick.

(32:20):
Here's a pro tip. Once you do get your air fryer,
as you cut out parchment paper and put it in
the bottom and so that way it catches all the
you know, residue from food or oil that may drip
down or anything. Then you don't have to clean it.
You just pull out the parchment paper and throw it
in the trash and you are good to go. Another
gift idea that I love and I think is so

(32:40):
cute for girlfriends in your life, or it could even
be a stocking stuffer or like a legit gift is
the Olive in June nail sets. Alive in June is
now in Target, but you can also go to olive
in June dot com and they have a gift guide
shop on their site with lots of cute gift ideas.
They have like holiday nails sets, which might be fun

(33:01):
to give a friend if you have like a gift
exchange before and that way they can paint their nails
and be ready for the holiday season. Or they have
other seasonal sets other fun things they have stuff for
like a manny kit or a petty kit. If someone
gifted that to me, I would be like, yes, that's
so awesome. And not a lot of people, especially during COVID,
they got out of the practice if maybe they went

(33:22):
to a nail salon, They started doing their nails more
at home, So people are wanting to add to their
at home nail kit collection, and Olive in June is
a super cute way to do that. Now, Mary is
there gonna there's a section on the gift guide that
is for kids, right, yes, okay, So we'll just name
one or two things here. This is stuff that my

(33:43):
kids have on their Christmas list. And then Mary has
a lot of little fun things that will be up
on the site and she can mention one of those.
But really we want you to go to the shop
Forward dot com, click on the gift Guide and that
way you'll be good to go. But I feel like
if you've got a young kid, so times hygiene is
difficult and getting them to shower sometimes it is like,

(34:05):
but how can you make that experience more fun? And
so I am getting my kids waterproof speakers for their
showers so that they can listen to music while they're
taking a shower. And there's this j b L Junior Pop.
J b L is the brand, and it kind of
has a little hook things so they can hook it

(34:25):
on whatever in the shower, and they come with really
fun colors for kids. And again their waterproof and these
are designed for kids, so they're supposed to like look fun,
be fun, be super cute, and you can hang them
up in the shower. And then my daughter has asked
for one of those spin brushes that helps cleanse your
face because she's fourteen years old and she's wanting to

(34:45):
start taking care of her skin and different blemishes, so
a facial cleansing brush. And the one that I'm getting
her is Spa Sciences Nova. They have those at Target
and then they also have them on Amazon. Mary, do
you have a kid idea? Yeah, I'm just gonna share
a few of the things that These are all things
that I'm buying for my nieces and nephews. They're a

(35:05):
little bit younger too, so these might e skew a
little bit younger, although the first one, so I think
all kids are loving hydroflasks right now. There's so many
fun colors. And then if you buy just some stickers
that they would like to kind of geared whatever their
interests are, then they can put the stickers on hydroflask
and whichever ones they like and decorate it. So that
would be my first one, which is kind of good

(35:25):
for all ages, I guess. And then this ice cream
set that I have gotten my niece before. She it's
like her favorite toy. She plays with it all the time,
So it's good for like three to five year old,
I guess. And again i'll link these on the page.
There's this really cute personalized give, save or Spend bank.
I think it's good to teach the importance of giving,

(35:46):
saving and then just spend money to spend. And I
think it'd be really cute if you got that and
maybe put like a couple bucks in each one to
start them out. The popping fidget toys. I don't know
what those are called exactly, but I'll link a few
of them. But I feel like kids are obsessed with
those right now. There's even little key chain ones, and
I think would be good for adults, like in stocking.
I don't know, I even like messing around with those
little proper things. So those are just a few, but

(36:07):
we're gonna link way more than that on the site.
But that's just a few. And then I want to
throw out some game ideas. I feel like games are
always a good idea, and we you just assume sometimes, oh,
I'm sure they have this game, but maybe they don't,
and if you gift it to them or maybe if
you have a family, Like sometimes if the family is
all getting together and everyone's supposed to bring something for
the whole family to enjoy, you could include reverse Garades.

(36:31):
That is a go to favorite in our family. We've
played at the last few Christmas is and it's so fun.
Blank Slate is a new one that we've started playing,
and I think it's really fun for all ages. And
then Pictionary. We played pictionary last weekend and a lot
of different ages were playing everywhere from like fourteen to

(36:52):
seventy five year olds and we were on different teams
and it was just such a fun game. And Pictionary
has been around for a long time, but if you
think about it, when's the last time maybe you played?
And so you can bring some some games into the
holiday season. Something that I gave actually my sister in
the pastor that I think would be a good gift
idea if you can think of someone in your life

(37:12):
that would like this is I picked out all my
favorite skincare items that I thought that she might like
as like a little starter pack which I love. Zero Skincare.
So we're really excited that we have a Zeo's Consultation
and product giveaway for you guys right now, pay for
things listeners. It's Nurse Carry Claudel. You may know me
for Amy as the nash Field ready girl. You may

(37:33):
also know about mine and Amy and Mary's obsession with
Zero skincare. So I'm here to offer you a little
Zeo Skincare package. This includes a virtual FaceTime assessment of
your skin concerns along with your own personalized amazing Zeo
Skincare value that three dollars. My girl Amy will fill

(37:54):
you out of how to have a shot at this.
Merry Christmas and happy happy shopping. Okay, So, if you
want a shot at this zero skincare package, screenshot this
episode and put it in your Instagram stories. We're gonna
be looking for text that says I want zero on
the screen shot, so make sure you tag me so
I see it at Radio Amy. That's my handle Radio Amy,

(38:14):
and put I love Zero, so that way I know
you want a shot at this skincare package, which is amazing.
So obviously Ted Lasso has been a huge show recently.
I know Amy and I are obsessed with It makes
us so happy. I'm really sad it's not on right now.
We have a few Ted Lasso themed items and they
all benefit the Use Centers of Orange and the amazing

(38:35):
work they do with their after school kids programs, and
a bunch of other work that we're going to learn
more about in a second. So we have a ted
Lasso four Things, t a sweatshirt that says I heart
Roy Kent, a Believe hoodie, and we also have some
non ted Lasso items that benefit you. Centers are Born
to too. So all of our shoes Joyline, including we
just got new flannel pants that say shoes Joy Up

(38:57):
the leg. We have a bunch of collegiate Courted Crew
Choose Joy sweatshirts that are really popular. We also have
a sweatshirt that says I Heart Britney that has also
been popular and that benefits Use Centers of Orange. If
you know a Britney Spears fan in your life. Oh well,
you mentioned the flannel pants, and I just want to
clarify that they're the cutest and most comfy pajama bottoms ever.

(39:18):
If you're shopping for matching Christmas stuff for your family,
to take a photo in front of the Christmas tree
on Christmas Morning or Christmas Eve or something that choose
Joy Flannel pants are so cute and they pair nicely
with our four things Christmas pullovers that are read so
just shameless plug there about christ Us fulovers going good

(39:40):
with your choose joy flannel pants. Yeah, and so now
we're gonna hear from Holiday who's going to share a
little bit about the work that the Use Centers of
Orange does. High shop floorage shoppers, We at the Use
Centers of Orange are so beyond grateful for your support.
Because of you, children have a safe place to get
a meal, get cared for, have homework, help, have sports

(40:02):
and arts, and many other activities for free. Most importantly,
they have incredible staff and volunteers that remind them that
they are seen and deeply loved. They are known and
cared for. This allows single moms to have a safe
place for their kids so they can work and know
their kids are safe and well cared for. This allows

(40:23):
foster kids and children who are homeless and living below
the poverty line to have a safe place after school
where they are able to develop and thrive. As you know,
the most violent crimes happen to children during the after
school hours. However, because of you, these kids are safe.
Shop board shoppers, you have these kids backs. We are

(40:46):
beyond grateful. The one thing that I'm obsessed with that
I really take off is our Spots Star necklace. And
what's cool and sometimes I even forget to focus on,
is that it's handmade in Nashville by women that are
transitioning out of homelessness. And then it also gives back

(41:06):
to Haiti, So it really is a win win win gift.
It has local and global impact and it's just really
cute and you're not ever gonna want to take it off.
So we often get asked if we're gonna make it
in silver, and we're not. The gold is our only option,
but you can easily mix this with a piece of
silver jewelry. You can mix medals. It's totally allowed, and

(41:29):
it goes with a lot and heads up. It is
an adjustable chain. I wear on the tightest ring like
a choker, but my sister, for example, she wears it
on the longer option and it sits just above her
collar bone. Which speaking of my sister, she owns a
coffee shop in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. It's called root House,

(41:50):
and she has a little giveaway for us, Hey, hey,
for thanks, fam This is Amy's sister Christie, and we
want to send you a package of our root House
Adventure Trio coffee with a Choose Joy spoon. The Adventure
Trio includes three of the blends we serve at our
coffee shop, the first one being base Camp, which is
Amy's absolute favorite and us our more traditional breakfast blend.

(42:11):
The second one is our camp Fire Blend, which is
our dark French roast, and last, but not least, is
our Backwoods Blend, which is a crisp and tangy medium roast.
Along with the Adventure Trio, we would love to include
a Choose Joy spoon. Now is a little backstory Amy
and I. His mom, Judy, loved collecting vintage teaspoons, and
she taught many of us about choosing joy and difficult circumstances.

(42:33):
So as a nod to our mom's memory and her influence,
I love to keep a good stock of vintage silver
teaspoons in the shop with the words Choose Joy handstamped
on each one. It's such a great reminder as you
start your days, during your morning cup of coffee, your tea.
We're so thankful for Amy inviting us to be a
part of this giveaway. For those of you listening to
her four Things podcast, she'll tell you more details on

(42:54):
how to win. Now. If you can't come see us
at root House in Colorado, we'll send roothouse to you.
Go to a house code dot com to learn more
about our story and shop our selection of coffee and goods.
Merry Christmas, y'all and happy shopping. Okay, So, if you
want a shot at this root House coffee trio and
choose joy Spoon package, screenshot this episode right now in

(43:16):
type I love coffee and share that in your Instagram stories.
Make sure you tag at Radio Amy so that I
know that this is the giveaway that you're trying to win.
And you can enter all of these giveaways with separate screenshots.
Enter as many times as you want. Just be sure
that it's clear to us like what you're hoping to get,
and you never know you might get selected. And I

(43:38):
just realized for the spuaw necklace that I mentioned a
minute ago, I didn't say where you could find it,
but again you know it gives back, so the shop
forward dot com. But if you want to go like
directly to that, just shop Spua dot com is how
you can get there. And Mary, you've ordered Roothouse coffee
as gifts before, right and Choose Joy spoons. Oh, I've

(44:00):
gotten that exact gift for multiple people that I know
love coffee, and just like there's definitely people that just
really appreciate, like really good coffee, and I know your
sister has high standards for really good coffee and also
has amazing taste and like impeccable packaging and you get
it and it just feels like a little present when
you get it in the mail, so you don't even
have to barely wrap it. I don't even remember if
I did wrap it because the way they do the

(44:20):
packaging and then the Choose Joy spoon, it's just such
a cute little gift and so special. Yeah, and my
sister also has cute root House coffee mugs. But something
that I'm actually getting people for Christmas are the El
Royo coffee mugs that are inspired by their famous sign
in Austin. Those of you from Austin you know exactly
what I'm talking about, or if you've visited downtown Austin,

(44:40):
But in case you don't know, they have this funny
sign outside the restaurant and they change it every single
day with the clever things. I actually follow their Instagram
account because they're so funny. And you can find the
coffee mugs at el royo dot com. Just go there
and then click on the mugs and they're so fun.
There's one that says, dear Naps, I'm sorry I was
a jerk to you as a kid, and then there's

(45:00):
another one that says I wish more people were fluent
in silence, and then another one that says coffee keeps
me busy until it's acceptable to drink Margarita's. So if
you're have a friend that likes coffee, maybe getting them
a funny coffee mug is a good gift as well. Again,
those are from el royo dot com. And then I thought, too,
if you're curious about coffee makers for the coffee lovers

(45:23):
in your life, or maybe if you're in the market
for a new coffee maker. I feel like some of
this stuff too. Mary's stuff. People can get ideas of
what to put on their Christmas list, like, not just
like what you're shopping for, but what are you asking for?
And I often will post making a quick latte at
my house and I get more d m s of like, wait,
what what espresso maker do you have? So I had

(45:45):
the Brevel espresso machine and it is totally awesome. It's
worth it if you like Latte's or Americano's. Heads up,
it is expensive, but I know for a fact that
I've saved so much money not buying Latte's or espresso
shots from Starbucks. So the investment definitely will pay for
itself in time easily. But I now, after having this

(46:07):
for a few years, I miss having a drip coffee maker.
So I have a drip coffee maker on my Christmas
list that I think is gonna be amazing if I
get it, because it's also a little pricey, but again,
I think it will pay for itself, and that's why
I'm asking for it for Christmas, or at least maybe
gift cards for it so that I can buy it
for myself. And it's the technivorm Mocha Master. If you

(46:30):
don't know what I'm talking about, you can google the
Mocha Master. Well will link it on the shop forward
in case you want to check it out. But it
it's supposed to make the most amazing coffee and it
looks really cool, but a more affordable drip coffee machine.
That I also think would be a good gift for someone,
and that's super cute is the Hayden Dorchester coffee Maker
from createon Barrel. It's like half the price of the

(46:54):
Macha Master that I mentioned. But you know, I feel
like too, I'm sharing stuff to has really high reviews.
It's not like I'm just throwing stuff at you, or
either of us for that matter, that we're just like, oh,
this is something to check out. There's tons of really
amazing reviews. And I made sure of that before I
would want it for myself or I would recommend it

(47:16):
to you as a gift. All right, stick around. That
other flight giveaway that we have for you is coming
up soon. So the Squaw items that we've mentioned so
far that support Haiti have been gifts that women might like.
But we do have some really good gifts if you're
shopping for the men in your life too. So we
have cool Uncle teas, we have cool Grandpa teas and sweatshirts.

(47:38):
We have cool dead teas and sweatshirts. I would check
that out. That's all it shop a squaw dot com.
But also again in the gift guide, we also have
born Your Hats. We have a hundred years available, so
just find out any year that's special to a man
in your life, whether it's their actual born year or
maybe an anniversary or a year that their kid was born,
and you can order them a born Your hat. Yeah.

(47:59):
And then women, and also we're born Your hats too,
but they're definitely more popular with the guys. And just
a heads up that we added Born Your sweatshirts to
our line this year and they're so cute. Those are
definitely geared more towards women and it's one of our
favorite designs that we've ever done because it's just so
unique looking. And since these items all support Haiti, now

(48:22):
is a good time to hear from another Haiti partner
and how your shopping can impact what they're able to do.
So here's our friend, Mike Wilson, founder of My Life
Speaks based in Netli. What's up, four Things listeners. My
name is Mike Wilson, and I'm with an organization called
My Life Speaks. We are really fortunate to partner with
the Four Things podcast and shops FUA to help bring

(48:44):
a little joy to our community. I'm going to tell
you four things that we do see what I did
right there. Number one, we work with families. What that
means is, for a child who's been orphaned or abandoned,
we placed them in a Haitian family. That's right, Haitian
mom and add now have a child in a foster
care situation, family base with their own biological children. So

(49:06):
kids grow up with siblings, They grow up with aunt's, uncle's, grandma's, grandpa's,
but most importantly mom and dad to love them, teach them,
and walk through life with them. Number two, we work
with families by wrapping around them in our local community.
And what that looks like for us is we make
sure that no parent feels hopeless or helpless, and we
do that through things like education and public health and

(49:28):
community development. We work really hard to make sure no
parent ever says I can't do this on my Number three,
you need to know how awesome you are just by
listening to this podcast. I know your lives being changed.
But I also want you to know that when you
invest in partner with us through this partnership with four things,
you are really truly moving Haiti to a different level.

(49:49):
And number four, thank you so much for shopping and
helping pay it forward to our village and our family
and Haiti, we love you guys. So a few years ago,
my daughter says, year I started making a Squaw bracelets
to sit and support back to the orphanage Importer Princes
where she lived for some of her life, and it's
really cool to see people support her. Like anytime her
bracelets go up, they sell out so fast. So if

(50:09):
you're listening right now and you would like a customized
Squaw bracelet your choice of colors and size, screenshot this
episode and share it in your stories with I Love
SPOA E s p w A and tag me at
Radio Amy so that I see it. And if you're
write I Love a Squaw, then I'll know you're trying
to win the custom bracelet from Stashira, And that too

(50:32):
might be something you would want to win as a
cool gift for your daughter or your best friend who's
always been trying to get a Stashira a Squaw bracelet
but they've sold out too quickly or something like that.
So something that we're really passionate about at the shop
board is our military and making sure that they feel
supported and just knowing how much they sacrifice for our country.
So we try to find different ways to get back

(50:53):
through different items that we've sold. So we have some
really good items in our TSF Military Fund. That's another
way you can show by that fund on the left.
One of them is we have new USA corded Crue sweatshirts.
They're so cute it's kind of an oversized fit. We
also have all of our Thankful items, so we have
a Thankful Repeat tunic that it's a little bit longer
in the back and looks really cute with leggings. Like

(51:15):
it's my mom's favorite sweatshirt. I think I'm gonna get
her a backup one actually, because she wears it so much,
so she has like two that she can rotate. Also,
our new this is My Christmas movie watching sweatshirt and
tease does benefit that. So we used to have a
homework vision. It's now evolved to just Christmas movie in
general because there's so many other amazing Christmas movies, so

(51:37):
those all go towards r TSF Military Fund. Earlier, you
mentioned how Netflix has some and I think in the
month of November, so I don't know all the different
release states, but just this month alone, they're releasing eleven
Christmas movies on Netflix, and yes, and it's part like
this therapy that I'm doing on my brain. You have

(51:58):
to watch something like while you sit there for an hour.
And it's amazing because they hook these things up to
my brain. It's like neurofeedback. You get to watch whatever.
And I opted to watch Love Hard, which is one
of the new Netflix Christmas movies, and it is so
cute and I'm watching it and then my therapist is
also watching it, and we laughed out loud or like
chuckled and giggled, and I mean it's not like laugh

(52:20):
out loud, like rolling on the floor laughing, but it's
like cute laughter, like, oh, cute Christmas movie. This is
so sweet and we both really enjoyed it. So I'm
not done with it yet, but I give it so
far four out of five. I'm excited to see that. No,
it's definitely cute. It got I think like forty six
positive on Rotten Tomatoes. I know, like, what who reviewed this?

(52:43):
The Grinch. I feel like you just have to be
able to appreciate it might not be like Oscar wounding,
but I feel like you just have to appreciate how
it a lighthearted comedy. I recommend if you're listening to
this and you're looking for something to watch, or you've
seen Love Heart and the Netflix Top ten, then definitely
check it out and I'll be able to review it
fully next week after my session because we had to

(53:05):
end it early and I don't I don't know how
it ends yet. Okay, So, Mary, I kind of detoured
from your military talk to review Love Heart on Netflix.
But because you were saying the this is my Christmas movie,
watching Sweatshirt is supporting our military, and yeah, to be specific,
it's Victory Village and our friend Jennifer is going to

(53:27):
share some details about the work they're doing with that
now so you can know what you're supporting. Hey for things, listeners,
this is Jennifer Nelson. Some of you may remember me
and my family from the pimpin Joy campaign a few
years ago. Your support meant the world to us, and
we are so grateful that people like you are very
passionate about supporting the military. That's why I'm excited to

(53:50):
tell you about an organization that my husband Nathan and
I are involved with called Victory Village. Victory Village helps
house our aging wounded service members and their caregivers, no
matter what branch or service era they belong to. To
find out more about Victory Village, please go to a

(54:11):
f e V dot us That is a f e
V dot us. Thanks for shopping to help pay it
forward to those that have sacrificed so much for our country.
We love you guys so much. Okay, So yeah, I
just know if you support certain items, you're gonna be
supporting our military and the work that Jennifer and her

(54:31):
husband Nathan are doing. And yeah, she mentioned being a
part of our Pimp and Joy campaign a few years ago.
So that's something we did on the Bobby Bones Show
and we do every July, like around fourth of July.
We have a patriotic Pimp and Joy line that goes
up and we partner with building homes for heroes and
help build a hero a home. And it was cool

(54:53):
to do that for Jennifer and her husband a few
years ago. And we're so glad we met them and
they're just awesome people and they continue to give back
to others and want to help veterans that are coming
home that have, you know, different needs that they maybe
didn't have before. They need to be supported and I
love that they're working with Victory Village and even our

(55:14):
older vets from Vietnam as well. It's just really cool
to work that they're doing. And Pimp and Joy is
something that has, oh it's been around since two thousand
and fourteen. It was actually the first partner with the
Shop four. That was the first item that the Shot
four had ever put up and our O G Black
hat was that item. And so that's something that we

(55:36):
are going to be giving away right now and it's
signed by the entire Bobby Bones Show. Everyone has signed it.
And Pimp and Joy's obviously something special to me because
it started with my mom um. Whenever she was diagnosed
with cancer, she out of the gate knew she was
going to try her hardest to choose joy for herself
when she could, but mostly just spread joy to others,

(55:56):
especially around the hospital. Because we definitely spent a lot
out of time in the two years that you know,
she was dealing with cancer before she passed away in
two thousand fourteen, we were in a lot of different
hospitals and she was always so nice to people. Oh.
Fun tie into the Walker Hayes is that he wrote
a theme song for pimp and Joy and actually maybe

(56:17):
we can play a little hook of that right now,
what Judy is breaking, but duty he ain't broke because
she got nothing but love, even a little go and
it's tough enough to make anybody better. Yeah duty vat
pomp fan Shorty on Twitter. Judy got it right and
a million excuses to get down, get down, get down,
but she choose to make the chance she gets. She

(56:41):
keeping that out of tude positive. Can't we beat pimp
and jewel Oh? Because we got a choloice and we
got a ohice, So we be choosing to using to
make a beautiful voice lighting up the whole world. Well
you go, girls, we be pipp and Joy like Judy,

(57:10):
like Judy, like duty. So in the song to um Walker,
Hayes wrote, she even be talking to people in the
elevators because that was one way that my mom would
spread joy to people in the hospitals. If they were
on the elevator, she wouldn't just stare at the wall
and ignore them. She would find a way to compliment
them in some way, like, you know, if they had

(57:30):
a cute wig, because a lot of people had wigs on,
or if they had a cute scarf or sweater. She
always wanted to make them feel seen and encouraged through
the day. So yeah, that was just a snippet into
how my mom was and how she handled her cancer journey.
But Pimp and Joy is her legacy that lives on,
and we have tons of Pimp and Joy items up

(57:51):
at the Shop Forward that are giving back of the
proceeds always go to whatever causes being supported. We have
cute Christmas items, so many different things are up there
at the Shot Forward, So I just encourage you to
go check them out. But if you want a shot
at winning the signed Pimp and Joy hat by the
Bobby Bones Show, just screenshot this episode right now and

(58:11):
put hashtag Pimp and Joy on the screen shot tag
me at Radio Amy so that I see it and
I'll know that you want a shot at this signed hat,
and you never know, you might get selected to give
Pimp and Joy. We actually have a really fun new
item or items that we're gonna release I think the
day that this comes out. So it's this really cute
tied eye sweatsuit, which we've never done ever with any

(58:34):
item on the shop Foroard. I don't think a cute sweatsuit,
so it's matching kind of faded tied eye and says
Pimp and Joy on the joggers and on the top,
and they're so cute and yeah, we donate a d
percent of proceeds to the Pimp and Joy Fund that
goes to spreading joy. Yeah, and I think to this
date the Pimp and Joy Fund has donated over two
million dollars, which my mom would be freaking out over.

(58:57):
So that's just very cool and for me personally, anytime
I see someone wearing something pipen Joy, it's an answer
to my mom's prayer. The cancer came back multiple times,
and on the last time she we were getting a diagnosis.
She immediately wanted to go to the chapel and she
said a prayer. And it wasn't Lord, heal me, it
was Lord, use this cancer for good. And so we
had no idea that this is what the Lord had

(59:19):
in store, and that's something like Pimp and Joy would
really become even a clothing line that could make money
that ultimately was money for donations and it's crazy, so
pretty cool, and yes, we're pumped about the tied eyed
joggers and sweatshirt. The matching set. I gave them to
the girls on the Bobby Bones show, Abby and Morgan,
and they both were freaking out. Abby put it on

(59:40):
right away and sent me like a selfie picture from
her bedroom and she was like, I'm obsessed. It's so cute.
So and that's a that's a very limited limited things.
So the shop forward dot com for that. I love
how we're just gonna keep saying that website like people
don't know. But what about some other gift ideas before
we start to wrap things up, I'll just run through
a few, and again, they're way more on the site.

(01:00:03):
So these are just some of the ones that came
to mind. First. I already mentioned the robe, but it's
a very specific one. It's called the Portola robe in
case you're just listening and want to look it up.
Otherwise we'll have the link. One was fuzzy birken stocks.
I guess I have a theme with like shirt book
because both of us have shirt bligning. The fuzzy broken
stocks are amazing and something that you might not buy

(01:00:23):
for yourself, but I think are such fun gifts. I
think I'm gonna get this from my sister Hopell, like
she's not listening to this A bright Land olive oil set.
If you know anyone that likes to cook or doesn't.
I don't even like to cook, and I got it
from someone and I love it. It like makes food
tastes so much better and you feel fancy when you
use it, and it's the type of thing that you
might not buy for yourself. I love giving people like

(01:00:43):
lip bomb or like fancy lip bomb or lip bomb sets.
So a couple of good ones are there's this Goop
lip Bomb Gwyneth knows what she's talking about, Summer Friday's
lip Bomb trio, and then there's a few other ones too.
I think it's fun to give people like fancy soap
or like that products. So Philosophy has an Amazing Grace
set that smells so good. I used the Amazing Grace

(01:01:07):
soap a lot, but it just kind of comes in
a cute gift set. So I would recommend that. My
sister has written a whole blog post on that gift
set about how she showered herself and grace. Because my
mom actually gifted us the Philosophy Amazing Graft gift sets
before she passed away, and then after my mom died,
my sister was showering and she was almost out of
her soap and she like then ended up on the

(01:01:29):
ground crying. But then she turned it into a beautiful
story and she blogged about it and this whole thing
on Grace And that's good stuff for sure. Another thing
you had on here too, or you'll have in the
gift guide like a gag gift the toilet bowl night light.
I think that that's a gag gift but actually good, yes,
because like especially guys, and then all the night it
kind of like lights up your toilet seats, so if
you like wake up half asleep in the middle of

(01:01:50):
the night, so it might be like a ha ha,
because it might be like embarrassing, but I don't know.
It's kind of a funny gift to give someone, but
I think that that would actually really appreciate and it's
pretty inexpensive too. Yeah. And then speaking of guys, there's
a gourmet spice rubs set. I know that you're recommending
maybe for guys that like to grill. So all of
that stuff will be up and linked at the shot

(01:02:12):
forward in the gift Guide. But before we go, we
do have that other flight giveaway to do So if
you want a shot at a round trip flight on
Southwest Air, screenshot this episode and right, I love this
gift guide and tag me Radio Amy. And also at
the shot forward. This one's important for the fly. You

(01:02:33):
need to make sure you're tagging both of us at
the shot forward so that we see it. And yeah,
you could be getting a flight simply for listening to
this episode. You mentioned earlier that you can enter to
win all of these giveaways, so we're gonna do a
quick recap now of all the different screens shots that
you can share to your Instagram stories. Just make sure
you do a separate screenshot for each package. Okay, So
for Walker Hayes fancy like package, but I love Walker

(01:02:55):
Hayes for the Zeo skincare package. But I love Zo
for the root House coffee package. But I love Coffee
first as years customize the spot bracelet, but I love
Spoa for the Pimp and Joy hat signed by the
Bobby Bones Show. Put Pimp and Joy hashtag Pimp and
Joy and then don't forget to tag me at Radio
Amy so that I will see your entry. And then

(01:03:16):
remember for the round trip south Was flight if you
want to win that your screenshot needs to say I
love this skift guide and then don't forget to tag
at Radio Amy and at the shot forward for the
flight and just a heads up for these giveaways. You
can enter as many times as you want, take as
many screenshots, just throw them in your Instagram Stories with
the text of the item that you would like to win. Again,

(01:03:37):
if you want to win everything, take that many screenshots.
You never know if you might get selected. But I
will say if you have a private account, you can
load it up into your Instagram stories and send us
a screenshot of that and then DM it to us,
right Mary, and then a friendly reminder about the golden tickets,
just to encourage you to shop as soon as possible
in this next week. They will randomly be put in

(01:03:58):
orders that are placed in the next seven days. So
we have five golden tickets going out and then one
five golden ticket going out in the four Things puzzle
order chosen at random. Okay, so before we go, I
know we talked about my mom earlier, and something that
makes me think of my mom every Christmas is how
she used to make stove top Christmas potpourri. So I

(01:04:20):
thought I would leave y'all with this recipe because you
need to do this you're it will make your house
smell like Christmas. But another thing to keep in mind
is you could take some of these ingredients and bag
them up as long as you get dried oranges, and
you could put them in a little plastic bag with
a red bow. And this could also be a gift
that you give to some of your girlfriends, which I

(01:04:42):
think would be a super fun, thoughtful gifts. So this
is what you need. Oranges, cranberries, fresh rosemary, cinnamon sticks,
and clothes. That's it. And then how you make your
house smell like Christmas is you slice or quarter your oranges.
That just looks really pretty, but it also gives you
better access to the citrus scent. That's why you want

(01:05:03):
to slice them, don't just throw in whole oranges. But again,
if you want to gift these, you know, in a
little goodie bag to friends, make sure you just get
sliced dried oranges, or actually you can slice them yourself
and then dry them in your oven and that way
they're good to go. Place all of the ingredients in
a saucepan with four to six cups of water. Bring

(01:05:23):
to a simmer over low heat. You don't want this
to boil, just a very light simmer, and you can
let it simmer as long as you like, adding more
water as needed, and you can just leave it there
for hours and your house will smell so good. Some
people even do this in a crop pot because it's
like less to worry about. But just don't forget if
you do have it on your stovetop. If you leave
your house, take your oven off of simmer. I just

(01:05:46):
feel like I need to remind people of that. And
there you go. Your house will smell like Christmas. And
thank you all so much for listening to today's episode.
We hope you enjoy all the fun things that we
threw in this year with the giveaways and then the
fun little things. If you shop like the Golden tickets,
I love feeling like Willy Wonka and the flight giveaway

(01:06:07):
is super fun. So thank you for listening. Merry Christmas
and happy shopping. Okay bye
