(00:00):
Man, I got to get anMRI tomorrow on my knee. So I
went yesterday to sports med and hadan X ray. And so they're looking
at stuff and it's you know, remember the other whatever last week when you
were like looking at me, youwere looking at me. I was coming
down the hall. You're like, man, I'm seeing you walk like that
(00:20):
before or whatever, mahobbling down thehall. And so I got to do
this MR. They're telling me tomorrowthough with this MRI that I don't it's
it's they only put you in.They only put you in part of the
way. They don't put you allthe way in to this MRI, because
I do remember back in the dayI had an MRI where I was.
(00:44):
It's probably been twenty years. Butwhen they put you in there, as
a matter of fact, people haveto be medicated. There's all kinds of
different ways. People have types ofstuff that they have to do to deal
with it. Because the literally thetop of this thing is just a few
inches your face. I mean, they slide you in there, and you
can't move like you're supposed to staystill the whole time. It's taking the
(01:07):
imaging and so and that's what it'sandfor magnetic residence imaging. And I remember
doing that twenty years ago or whatever. It was something like that, maybe
even longer, and I did notI didn't need medicaid. I didn't even
you know, I just had myeyes closed, was a matter of fact.
I remember listening to the radio.I was listening to a rock station
here in town during the whole thing. And I don't remember freaking out at
(01:30):
all. But I guess people losetheir minds doing this, and so as
a result me hearing that over theyears, like how I probably should have
reacted differently when then when all ofthat happened, I was I was none
of the why. I was likewhat, I thought, that's just you
know what happens. That's just theyjust put you in there, and unfortunately
(01:52):
you're gonna have to But some peoplefreak out and have to be medicated and
so on. But I'm being toldthat it's basically just the lower half of
me that is put into that machinein order to get that imaging for my
knee. But I have like crazyarthritis that you would you have? Was
it? You? You are yourknees? You had no you had a
(02:15):
hip replacement, No, I hadboth my hips resurfaced, which is different
than a full hip replacement. Youdon't have me replacement, I know,
no knee replacement, but I havehad I have had a torn meniscus and
some arthritis damage cleaned up out ofmy right knee. So I had my
(02:43):
my meniscus repair. Did it rippedterror whatever? Yeah, I tore that
and then my left knee is isall screwed up and I haven't done anything
about that. And it's just yeah, my my thirties. Basically I fell
apart in my thirties, is whathappened. Uh. And it's simply because
(03:05):
I genetically my dad's side of thefamily has horrible arthritis. My father is
almost practically crippled at this point inhis life. So I'm very I know
the pain, I know the struggle. Dude. So I don't know what
happened to you. I'm sure you'llfind out. Oh, I know it's
(03:28):
from an injury from twenty eleven.Okay, So it is it is relating
back to that that thing. Okay. So we had UH with SWAT.
We were doing a basically it wasfor a fallen SWAT officer and we were
we were there on the behalf ofraising money for the fallen SWAT officers widow
(03:50):
and her and their child, andso we were there for that and going
through training for what they do.And I jumped off of this platform and
my left leg Basically I thought Iswore when it happened, because my leg
just collapsed. I was like aseven foot platform that I jumped off of
and I was supposed to hang anddrop, not just jump. But during
(04:13):
the instructions, Channel ten was talkingto me, interviewing me on TV,
and so I didn't hear the instructions. So my team had went on they
were like, yeah, come on, come on. So I jumped off
of this thing and my legs likejust exploded, but had atrophy, non
weight bearing for three months, atibio plateau fracture, had to learn to
walk again, basically through all ofthis. So what's happening is as a
(04:35):
result of that injury. So nowit's beginning to rear its ugly head.
But I was told by my surgeonthat I was going to have arthritis and
all of that early on set.Even with that, because of the right
knee is completely fine, it's onehundred percent, you know, just perfect.
Actually, looking at the X raysfrom the other day. But yeah,
this MRI tomorrow. If I hadto go all the way in that
(04:58):
thing, I'd probably be having crazyanxiety about it. But I'm told that
they just kind of so with yoursare they like, you're talking about your
leftne Yours is just genetic. What'shappening with you right? Mine is genetic.
Yours is an injury. Injury.Yeah, yeah, man, mine,
there's nothing I can do about mine. I'm gonna and I'm gonna be
(05:20):
suffering. It's already in my lowerspine. I think that's causing the neuropathy
in my feet. But again,I'm so busy. I've got three kids.
We're doing this. It's it's ourschedules are all scattered throughout the day.
It's hard for me to get toa doctor. It's just hard.
Well, you'll know when it's rightbecause it will be crippling or it'll kind
(05:43):
of stop you in your tracks andyou'll go, Okay, gotta address it.
That's I'm waiting to the point whereI can't just keep you know,
popping tiland on advil and trying tomanage it. But I you know,
every day I feel it there's nota day that goes by. I don't
you know, struggle to it upout of this chair, but as present,
not always crippling, hurting, notalways hurting, but it's oh,
(06:05):
it's ever present, right, yes, correct, m okay, so there
it is. Uh, the theElon Musk is saying, I think a
ROBOTAXI. I mean to hear aboutthat. I feel like we're talking about
the Jetsons or something like that. But they, I guess. On Friday,
(06:33):
Elon Musk was it was a Reuter'sreport that suggested he was scrapping plans
to produce this low cost electric vehiclein favor of a Robotaxi, and he
announced on X He's like unveiling anew Robotaxi August eighth. So, in
other words, he shot them.He shot that down, like, no,
no, no, I didn't scrapthe plans that he's unveiling that on
(06:56):
August eighth. I think it's acool concept. Would I get in one?
Hell no? But no way, man, I'm not. I mean,
I could be one of those peoplewhere maybe I'm overthinking it or what
have you. But uh, wasit you that was asking me or I
can't remember somebody was asking me about, Hey, is Las Vegas supposed to
(07:20):
be having those that like like RobotypeTaxis, they're gonna kind of debut or
start, And I'm like, Ihadn't heard that, but I won't be
getting one. I can tell youthat I have no I have no desire
to do any of that. Soanyway, that's that's happening on August eighth.
(07:41):
I think it's going to be fascinatingto watch anything Elon is involved with,
especially if it's going to make apublic debut. I would imagine it's
probably pretty solid at this point, but clearly it's still fledgling stages as far
as a Robotaxi goes or what haveyou? Hey ed, welcome to the
show. You got arthritis or orwhat's the situation? Well, my body's
(08:05):
wore off for groping, but Ihad a little MRI on my lower back
to see what was going with this. So you won't have too much problem
with that because they don't take youall the way in and yeah, but
my back, you know, itwas out this morning, and people don't
understand when you you're not hurting andyou tell somebody how, they ask how
(08:28):
your back's doing you say, it'sthere. They don't understand that till they've
been through it. I think Joshunderstood that. But what he was saying,
yeah, and that's that's that's that'sthe ad. You nailed it,
man, That's that's exactly it.It's because okay, I'm it may not
be. There are days that throbs. I mean there are days I I
will literally take three advil, threetile at all and then two glasses of
(08:52):
Crown Royal to the face just tomake it stop hurting me at night.
Uh But even then, when whenit's not directly hurting like that, you
know, getting up out of achare, it is a process like it
is a I don't have. Ijust don't have the strength. I don't
have the uh dexterity, if youwill, flexibility to to just pop up
(09:16):
out of a chair. I meanthat. So it's even if it's not
hurting, it's there. It's alwaysthere. Yep. And I said you
somebody that has no clue about it, can't understand that particular statement. That's
true. What do you do foryours ed if I can ask? I
mean, you said, roofing kindof took you to you know, here,
(09:37):
you are now, but how doyou how do you battle it now?
I go to chiropractor, I gotI got a massage therapist, although
she's down because she just had kneereplacement. And I take four of whatever
it is. I don't Yeah, because two of them might as well toss
them out in the parking lot. They do that much good, right,
(09:58):
Yeah? Three, two does nogood. Three does work in an hour
and a half and four does workin about twenty minutes. And I've been
like that all my life. Yeah, I've been chewed on for taking so
much the way at once, Butif it don't work, why are you
taking it? Right? Exactly?Yeah, Ultimately you're after the relief and
(10:18):
if you got to take more, but then you get into I'm sure your
doctor probably gives you the business orI don't know, you would think they
would say, hey, how aboutthis as a you know, because that
can that can beat up your liverand your kidneys and stuff. Right.
Yeah. I tried to do itwith as little as possible, but there's
times you just got to that's it. Yeah. Do you find the weather
(10:39):
affects it? Because I think somepeople deal with that too. No,
the my wife had that problem whetherit would affect hers. And my grandfather
always knew what was going to rainalways, but that's it doesn't yeah,
effect me at all. Back Sometimesit works oposite. When it's really good
(11:00):
outside, I'm having a problem andit's really bad I'm doing good. Interesting,
Yeah, well that's crazy sometimes, yeah, man, hang in there,
dude. Thats the reason that thatis a true thing absolutely about people
knowing about the rain is because youknow, when poor weathers coming in,
(11:20):
the barometric pressure drops, which meansthere's there's a literally you're being compressed a
little bit more, and is youcan't people you know, you don't really
feel it per se, people don't, but believe it or not, that
little bit of difference in the dropof the barometric pressure can change, you
know, you can feel it literallyin your bones. Yeah. Meloxacam you
(11:43):
heard of that? What is meloxacam. It's a it's an n s A
I d I know. It's inthat family, which is the non steroidal
anti inflammatory Yeah, so which isyou know, advil a leave. So
it's a it's a prescription strength versionof those, not narcotic. But I
was given some of that, haven'ttaken any yet. But I just wondered
if you had heard of that.I got muscle relaxer. They give me
(12:07):
flexiole. Yeah, I've heard ofthat. I heard for muscle relaxers.
I got to take like two orthree of them just to actually get them
to relax my muscle. And I'mnot recommending anybody do that, but like
usually I'll take two instead of onesimply because my back is hurting. Like
I It does relieve a little bit, but not you know, I was
(12:31):
for for five years. I wason I was on Viking, and I
did it responsibly and and you know, I never had a problem. It
never, you know, got tobut then you know that the way they're
freaking out about it, they cutthat off. Now you can't even good
luck trying to get that. Youhave your arm hanging on by a thread,
and they'd be like you're a coupleof title and all right, you
(12:52):
know so that sometimes you get dude, you got to you got to figure
out what works for you, man. But good luck. I hope,
uh, I hope it doesn't comeback. There's anything too structurally screwed up
for you. Yeah, I'm guessingthere's probably some terrors of something or other
or what have you. But yeah, it'll be interesting. I kind of
want to just get it for abaseline and then move from there with it,
(13:15):
you know, or what have you.
