(00:00):
You know, Donald Trump's campaign isasking Republican candidates and committees using his name

(00:08):
and likeness to fundraise to give atleast five percent of what they raised to
the campaign. And they wrote thisin a letter and this was I think
yesterday. Starting tomorrow, we askall candidates committees who choose to use President
Trump's name, image, likeness splita minimum of five percent of all fundraising

(00:29):
solicitations to Trump National Committee. Andso, you know what, I absolutely
one hundred percent agree with this. And you know, if you think about
all of the other things that arein our society, like for instance,
here on the radio, I mean, we can't even hint at making money

(00:50):
off the term super Bowl without beingsued. I mean it's like or your
sent a seasidi stick. Some ofthe music. There's certain music that we
are not even allowed to play onthe radio. Now it's a little bit
inside baseball, but you know,we pay as cap fees to use the
money. All fast is a society. It seems like everyone is, you

(01:11):
know, they're given money for helpingothers make money basically off of their likeness.
And so I feel like this isone hundred percent a great move by
them, and I don't. I'msure they'll be. There'll probably be some
resistance I would think with this, but there it is. I again,

(01:32):
I don't know Eric Delbert's joining usnow. Eric, I don't know where
you come down on something like this, but I'm going, Hey, if
they're raising money or making money offof him and an endorsement and so on,
maybe he should be he should begetting some of the money that they
raise. Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, and we, like
you said, we hit up againstit oftentimes with just our bumper music and

(01:53):
things on the air. So yeah, I definitely agree, especially with us
needing to get him in office,we can do to help. Yeah.
So then the the letter included guidelinesfor Republican candidates committees. They're using Trump's
name and likeness while fundraising, askhim to avoid speaking on behalf of in
quotes Trump, creating memberships, clubs, or rewards that are not authorized by

(02:17):
the campaign, impersonating President Trump orhis campaign, and mentioning Trump's family without
their consent or the consent of thecampaign. So I think he's just up
against Think about all the money thisguy is putting out right now, just
out of his own pocket, withall of these legal expenses and so on,
and look, it's no, it'snot a secret the Biden Or administration

(02:39):
they're trying to bankrupt him. Bythe way, that the way everything is
going right now, they are tryingtheir best to bankrupt this guy. But
I just don't I think at theend of the day, it's not going
to end up happening. And you'reright, Eric, I hope, man,
I hope we can get him inthere in November. Is all I
can say. That's that is there. I know we say this a lot,

(03:01):
but has there really ever been amore important election? Really, I
can't imagine. I can't imagine fourmore years under the current administration. I
mean, even just as a businessowner, it is it's all we can
do to stay afloat with regulations andeverything that comes down upon us. Right

(03:23):
now. I can't imagine the typeof stuff that you guys have to go
through, especially, you know, because they are so staunchly against the Second
Amendment, this current administration and alldifferent facets of it. They have villainized,
I think is a good way tokind of put it. They've villainized
guns and so on. But they'reover what over three hundred million guns in

(03:45):
America in the US something like that. I think I think it's actually I
think I just pulled the number.I think it's three hundred and fifty now,
right, So, yeah, thattells you something about if they think
they're ever going to eradicate them, think what they're trying to do is just
slow everything down. But you wouldknow from somebody who owns LAPD Firearms and

(04:05):
range. I mean, your salesare booming, aren't they They are?
Actually that number is four hundred andfifty million. I'm sorry about that.
At four fifty Yeah, they arethere. They're booming under this administration because
people are concerned, they continue tobe concerned about their livelihood, about the
security and safety of their family, and so it translates into people coming to

(04:27):
this door an awful lot to practiceand the purchase, especially when you think
of all the lawlessness that's happening nationwide. People are arming themselves simply because at
any moment, somebody could start tryingto kick your front door down, and
you don't have time to ask questions. And you know the sad part too,
Eric about that somebody comes in,they kick your door down, they

(04:48):
come in, and you know,I don't know. You shoot them,
kill them, what have you. They're climbing in any of that, and
it's like you take them to courtand you're the bad guy. It's stupid.
It is. It is. You'reright, It doesn't matter where you
live anymore. I mean it is. There's really no you know, good
part of town when we're immune tothis. It happens everywhere. If you

(05:08):
listen to the police scanner for anylength of time, you see that it
is occurring everywhere. Yeah. Soone thing that you brought to my attention
this week, which I think isand by the way, you sent me
a text and you're like for thisweek's segment of protecting your Second Amendment rights
with Eric, which I think that'sperfect. I love it. Actually,

(05:30):
I was gonna ask him, like, is that like a real thing or
because maybe it should Maybe it shouldbe. I'm available every Friday at four
five. I'm just saying we coulddo, yeah, we could do a
weekly feature protecting your Second Amendment rights, you know, something along those lines
or what have you. But sothe the ATF right now and you're saying

(05:51):
has the potential because they haven't donethis as of yet, correct making criminals
out of everybody, anyone, ratherand finish that tell me about this,
this is crazy. Yeah. Soactually this is going into the National Registry
I think today, which means itgoes into law or is an official rule
out there thirty days from today. So we're pretty far down the track on

(06:15):
this. Basically, what it isin their continuing efforts to make the firearms
industry the gun owners pay for thecrimes of the thugs out there, they
have gone after what they're calling andit's truly not a loophole, but what
they're going after is the transactions thatfall outside of background check for firearms.

(06:38):
And so this could be myself personallyselling a firearm to you, to a
neighbor, or potentially out of agun show, something that has gone on
and been legal for a long longtime. When you do that, your
obligation is to make sure that personis a resident of your state and also,
to the best of your knowledge, that they are able to illegally own

(07:00):
a firearm. And so oftentimes yousee people with gun shows going in who
maybe want to liquidate their collection orjust get rid of a couple items that
they no longer use. Well, with this new ruling, there is,
as you can imagine, ambiguity thatimplies that now the definition of engaged in
the business in business being firearms sellingthat it could be as simple as selling

(07:26):
something for a profit. So ifyou purchase these in the nineties, obviously
they're now worth more and you're sellingthem over and above that, it could
be construed that you are now engagedin the business and therefore needing an FFL
license to make that transaction. Youknow, I don't know about you,
but I've about had it with inthe middle of the game changing the rules
or the definitions, if you will, because it seems like that is a

(07:49):
recurring situation in today's climate, andby today I mean the last it seems
like it seems like we're seeing itweekly, if not daily sometime, and
it's all different facets of areas ofyou know, lifestyle and so on.
But just changing what the definition isand then that instantly almost makes you a

(08:09):
criminal in this particular situation, absolutely, and in all of it goes back
to there's never any data to supportit. It's all these things that sound
good on the surface. For instance, in this particular case, their own
study twenty nineteen DOJ study of stateand federal prisoners determined that zero point eight

(08:33):
percent of criminals said they obtained theirfirearms through a gun show. The overwhelming
vast majority stole them, as wehave been saying all along. But you
know, that doesn't seem to stopthem from going out there and putting these
things into place to have a lotof ambiguity to it. So the general
person who doesn't want to fight tofight and doesn't have the resources to do

(08:56):
so, you throw in the toweland the bad guys, it has absolutely
zero effect on them. As usual. Yeah, one more time, it's
yet something else being brought up thatall it does is throw roadblocks in front
of the people who are doing thislegally and legitimately. It just continues to
throw roadblocks in front of us,the purchasing public that are allowed to do

(09:18):
this, and does nothing to quellany of the bad guys and how they're
obtaining them. Yeah, and probablythe other important point to make here is
what they're getting at is they playon the sympathy of the people who don't
know firearms, who say, hey, yeah, well, you know,
it sounds reasonable that every transaction stickshould go through a background check. It

(09:39):
sounds reasonable, but the only wayto enforce that, The only way to
enforce that is for the government toknow where every single one of those four
hundred and fifty million firearms are outthere at any given time. So can
you imagine if they said tomorrow that, hey, look we're going to make
this so every transaction needs to gothrough a background check and you need to
go register your guns. How longof a line is that going to be

(10:03):
from the bad guys registering their guns? No line whatsoever, none easily crazy,
It's just it, and it goesIt all goes back to there's no
data to support what they're doing thatis going to affect anything. If we
could simply prosecute the criminals and notallow them to continue to steal, you
know, firearms and the juveniles whowere rampant now they steal the firearms,

(10:26):
but it's not it doesn't register enoughpoints to hold them. We still need
to call mom and give them icecream while they're waiting for mom. Is
that you know? We continue doingto not enforce the things that are alread
out there on the books. Allright, So tell me about this huge
estate sale that's about to be releasedat l e PD that that looks kind
of tasty. Man. I'll behonest, it is really good. It's

(10:48):
one of those ones where I gottakind of take a step back and make
sure I don't purchase any myself. It's about fifty firearms, a lot of
them classic revolvers, several in onegrands ammunition. It's a lot of good
stuff. We're hoping to release itnext Wednesday to members only, kind of
a pre show day, and thenthe rest of the week just have it

(11:09):
out there and stuff. But it'sreally I'm excited about this one because it's
a lot of stuff that I personallylike, some historic pieces and really need
items. Now, I didn't realizeyou guys were in that or did that,
or can do that, or coulddo that as far as an estate
sale, but it sounds like it'ssomething you guys do probably relative well,
I don't know if often is theword, but you guys have done it

(11:31):
before, it is, and it'ssomething that we like to do because you
never know what you're gonna find, and so, let alone the firearms in
this you always end up with someunique ammunition out of it, or you
know, certain things that really areneat and being undesirable, and this is
one of those. It just happensto be. This gentleman had kept his

(11:52):
items in really really good condition. Many of them looks like they've rarely been
fired, and it, you know, be off to the next collector's hands,
and we're just excited to have ithere next week. Yeah, when
they're like that, that brings topdollar, right, I mean people want
to see. It's like a carright unused miles, it really is.
And a lot of this the Smithand Western revolvers specifically, he had a

(12:16):
little collection and so he had fiveor six of the same firearm and that
look identical, but all in differentcalibers. So really, you know,
the you know the guys who liketo collect the old stuff, the old
colts and even d M one grandswith the historical value of those being in
the wars and stuff. It's reallyneat. It's a neat, neat collection.
What do you guys have coming uptomorrow at noon for on target?

(12:41):
Tomorrow's gonna be really good. HereTomorrow is for twenty And in honor of
for twenty day, we have we'rebringing on a CPD commander. Actually he's
a retired commander now who has hislaw degree, and he is a gentleman
who is really highly regarded in CentralOhio and all actually all over Ohio.

(13:01):
He teaches a lot of the officersabout how to handle some of the new
laws that have come down. Sowe're going to talk about marijuana, youth
and firearms. We're going to talkabout permitless carry. And it's neat to
hear from his perspective because he's theone teaching us each year, and so
it'll be kind of a different perspectivethan many people who are used to hearing.

(13:24):
I thought, you're going to tellme you're debuting the new weed gun
that you guys have. There's Iwas like, oh, for twenty exactly
it could be but no, itcould be good. It's a good discussion.
Eric Delbert, host of on Target, also owner of l EPD Firearms
and Range right there on Bethel Road. Eric is always thank you very much,
continued success to you and have afantastic weekend. You guys to be

(13:48):
safe and we'll talk to you allright. Brother
