(00:00):
She's here. Is it hot enoughfor you? I know it was like
yesterday. I don't know. Westarted kind of talking about you know,
it seems like it's front and centerwith regard to the forecast, and there's
hot and blue blazes out there.Yes, Josh, just like I can't
wait to say as she gets hereto go, are you cold outside?
Or is everything all right for you? You mean is it finally warm enough

(00:21):
for me? Final? No?No, no, no, this is
not acceptable for anybody. I don'twant to hear it. Don't fake it.
I'm tired. This is not comfortable. For the humidity. Man,
the humidity is absolutely killer. Youstep outside and in five seconds you're just
you're melting and sweating everywhere. It'syeah, this is it's nuts. I

(00:41):
totally agree. And I think especiallyif you have to work or you have
to do something outside, whether it'syard work or your actual job is outside.
Oh man, this is like yours? Is this afternoon? This afternoon?
Yes, I'm outside? And isthat sold out? Did it sell
out? I don't know. Jimmywould have to be close. And I'm
talking about the softball event, thenew kids on the block. Yeah,

(01:04):
the celebrity softball. So where areyou at in the lineup? Did you
see the lineup sheet? Don't seethe lineup sheet. I know who I'm
playing with. I know who's onmy team. So I've got Jordan and
Joey are on my team from NewKids on the Block, which so I'm
on Jimmy's team, Okay, okay, yeah, and then I think the

(01:25):
other New Kids on the Block areon the other team, and then Kelsey's
on the other team, Jean luGrampierre's on the other team. But I
don't know about the lineup. Idon't know where I am in like batting
order. So I'm just going toshow up and try not to embarrass myself
the worst. I know he's playing, he's on my team. Yeah.
John Corally will be there, greatnumber seven man. I know this is
his third year playing. I thinkJean Luke Granpierre and I are the only

(01:49):
two to come back every year.We have so much fun. And he's
going to be with us on thebroadcast before the game. He's gonna come
down. Dave Holmes, our newsports director, is going to be down
and broadcasting live leading up to thegame. And we think the new Kids
on the block are going to joinus at some point excited. Are you
allowed to take selfies? Or didthey say like uh oh gosh, every

(02:12):
year you're cool with it, We'recool, okay, Yeah, everybody the
Battery place, twenty one pilots havebeen part of this and everybody's been like,
oh yeah, let's take a picture. So I'll say this because the
reason I ask is hopefully they andI think they're probably past that stage if
they were even ever in that stageof you know, they're too cool for
the room. And you know, gosh, some of the you hear some
of these Hollywood elites and they're notHollywood, they're music elites. Yeah,

(02:36):
but you hear some of that, like I heard Jerry Seinfeld like told like
one of the people moving his luggage, like, don't look at me,
don't make eye contact with me,for blessed. Yeah, And you have
those kind of people that exist inthose circles. And I don't know where
that comes from, other than maybethey're afraid of if they make eye contact
with somebody, though, they'll feellike the doors open to say something.

(03:00):
I don't know, just totally knowwhat you're talking about. And honestly,
I'm a little like I'm nervous tomeet them, and not just because,
oh my gosh, so the newkid's on the block, but because you
know, if they've meant something toyou. I had posters of them on
my walk all day. So onceupon a time I met Dave Cooier from

(03:22):
Full House Yes and Joey Joey Yeah, joe So this show is my favorite
of all time, and I'm I'mliterally he came to my station in Phoenix.
He had a show he was doingat one of the local comedy clubs,
and he was coming to promote itand he's sitting in the green room
and I'm standing outside the door, going, oh my gosh, do I
go in? Because it's Joey's JoeyGladstone, Like, cut it out,

(03:43):
this is crazy. I could goin there and meet him and this would
be like cut it so monumental.Or I could go in and he's a
jerk and it ruins everything, AndI'm like, what do I do?
What do I do? I gomeet him? Do I? So?
I literally walked in and I waslike, Hi, I stay, here's
initation. He was the nicest humanand it just like restored my humanity because

(04:06):
I really considered for a second, what if he's not nice right then?
And he was totally entitled for that, but like, it ruins my childhood
in that interaction if he's like, yeah, whatever, can you just get
out of here? I just needa minute, and you're like sorry,
because then also, by the way, you're about to be the one with
him on camera, and now you'relike that in your mind, you're going,

(04:29):
yeah, yeah, No, hewas nice, took a picture and
was just the kindest person and askedme about myself, and I was like,
what, Oh my gosh, he'sinterviewing me. Oh my god.
He was so nice. Yeah,So I hope that that's kind of how
it goes with the new kid onthe block, because this is a big
deal. Did you bring up anylike, did you bring up Stamos or

(04:50):
did you bring up when I methim? Yeah? Did you bring up
so because sometimes those guys will alsoif you bring up in that situation,
I could see where he would getlike, I don't want to talk about
John. I'm sure he gets thatall. John Stamos is like one of
the prettiest men on the It soundslike they're all really good pals. But
when I met him. It wasbefore everybody was coming back for the reunion

(05:12):
show, and so I didn't evenknow that they were all still like super
tight. You kind of think toyourself, they must be, but no,
he was so nice, So Iam really hoping that, well,
that's a complishation. She wrote asong, did she You want to sing
it? Yeah? You want toknow? Oh yeah, watch which she

(05:34):
said that was about that was aboutyou? Do you not know that?
I didn't even know that down yeah, yeah, yeah, I did not
know is about him? Sure?Yes? Oh my god, I know.
Taylor played. Taylor Hawkins played drums, I believe on that record,
on the Jagged Little Pill record beforeYour Foo Fighter's Thing. But that's really

(05:57):
the only thing I knew about Atlantisother than I really like that record,
like I like her a lot.But I did not know that was about
him. No, that's confirmed becauseJohn SMIs talks about it in his book
where he was with Dave Coolier thefirst time they heard that song and they
they figured out that this is thatgirl? Is this that girl you used
to date? And they start doingthe math and he's like, I think

(06:19):
I really heard her. After hehears that song he had idea that it
was. Dude, I had noidea. That's really that's some great trivia
there, man, that I feellike I'm kind of a music I mean,
I know a little bit about music, but I had no idea.
That's cool. And I'm here toremind you of the Cross Eye Bear that
she gave to me. Crazy. It's that whole record, That whole record,

(06:46):
Gladstone. That's how you think ofhim, and to hear that song
is about him, it just defieseverything. And that's also why I was
afraid to meet him. I'm like, what if he's more like that song,
some kind of cruel though, Holdon a second. I mean people
don't know Spence the way you knowhim, sure, because he's your husband,
so there there would be people withdifferent opinions, be it bad or

(07:10):
good, whatever, but you knowthat kind of a thing with him.
It's just like, uh, Iunderstand what you're saying, but is that
categorically how he is as a lover, as a you know, as a
human being. Atlantis is probably bad, you know what crazy or could be
or maybe he is, but hekeeps it on. You know, that
kind of a thing, so youwould never get that Joey, because you

(07:32):
were. His shows are very familyfriendly. He really sticks to the ability
that the whole family can listen tohis comedy. You know, Bob Saggatt
was always kind of he was maybea little wilder with his comedy and necessary
Yeah, it wasn't necessarily friendly forthe kiddos. So but but yeah.

(07:53):
So Dave Coolier has always been he'smeant, he's been purposeful and keeping it.
Did he ever ge site which moviethey were saying in the theater?
Yeah, maybe he'll do that inhis book someday. I'm curious which movie
it was. That's all. TheSilence of the Lambs, Oh my gosh,
it would have been really awkward,The Real Quiet one with Sandra Bullock.

(08:16):
What was the one? Or no? There was one that the Silent
like where it has to you haveto be like put the quiet in the
movie, come a quiet place. What Wait, that's too which too more
recent? Oh my gosh, Silencethe Lambs will work out perfectly timeline wise
or terminator to time wise. Okay, I'm talking around ninety one. Could

(08:39):
be because that album came out inninety four, so ninety one ninety two.
They probably went to the movie atthe theater where she did the famous
thing, the thing, the youknow the thing, the thing too.
You know, the New Kids onthe Block. The Kids on the Block
are in town. They're playing softballtonight. We're all getting together and we're
going to raise money for Chill Ldren'smental health charity. You know what.

(09:01):
Also cool what I like, theyprobably get it all the time, like
you guys friends with Backstreet Boy,you know that kind of stuff. Like
it's just like they just assume becauseit's boy band, another boy band,
even though it was much later thewell, but even this this boy band
and that boy band, they actuallydid a record together and they called it

(09:22):
NTSBSB and they so they literally dida record together. I don't even know
that. Once again, there's somethingelse I didn't so, I mean they
and then New Kids on the Blockdid a song called Boys in the Band
where they kind of reference that there'sthis this group out there, or I
guess you could say a club ofthese boy bands over the years, referencing
all of them over the years,Jackson five, New Addition and all the

(09:43):
latest ones One Direction and the andyou know some of the new pop bands
that are out there. I'm tooold to know those, but I know
new kids on the block, rightright. We just found out a little
bit ago. Actor Donald Sutherland passedaway at eighty eight years old. Yeah,

(10:05):
I you know. I was tellingJosh, I, does anything really
jump out at you that he's donethat you go, oh, man,
he was brilliant in this because thatkind of a reaction escaped me when I
read this. I just remember thinkingI like him, and I'm like,
oh, it's keeper Sullivan's that.He was absolutely fabulous. And Invasion of
the Body Snatchers, Yeah, thatwas a good one. Hunger Games,

(10:28):
he was good. And I doremember Hunger Games. That was really funny.
So there is a movie where heplayed like a a high ranking military
guy and he was absolutely captivating inthat, and I forget what the name
of it was, Dad Gone, and I'll research it when I can.
Randomly, he was in the movieBuffy the Vampire Slayer. That is random

(10:50):
Yeah, with Christy Swanson and LukePerry. That must have been my earli
ish nineties and he was kind ofher mentorybe he needed the money because I'm
going what it was in what Itwas such a fun movie though, and
then that spawned the show later on, which probably is more popular. But
so I remember him from that andI thought it was great. Yeah,

(11:11):
oh yeah, I don't remember seeingany it just none of it for me
jumps out like it was very memorable. Like with regard to him, I
just what that one role is.But he was always he was always really
good in whatever he was in.But I just don't remember going you know,
man, that jumped out of melike some you know, actors will
do. And then he was nevernominated. I don't for any like Oscar

(11:35):
anything like that. And when youstart looking at his body of work,
it's enormous. I mean he wasin so many different, many things,
but you're right, I can't thinkof the one defining role that kind of
oh, everybody knows him from thatfrom a lot of different things. Also,
there was I just wanted to throwthis in too, but tis the

(11:56):
season as far as the amusement parks, but crazy what happened at King's Island
too? I mean, really playstupid games, win stupid prizes. Pretty
sad. No sympathy though, I'msorry. No sympathy. Well, I
have sympathy simply because you got that'ssomebody's brother, somebody's dad, somebody's son.
And that's the part that I'm justkind of focusing on. But as

(12:16):
a thirty eight year old guy,he had suffered a critical injury. He
was near the Banshee roller coaster rideat King's Island and this happened around eight
o'clock. I would imagine that wouldhave been last night. And then,
yeah, this person was lying down. It was in a restricted area,
and so he suffered massive head trauma. The thing's going about sixty eight miles

(12:37):
an hour and ended up striking himin the head. And so it's a
fenced area, and yeah, itwas restricted and he shouldn't have been in
there. This is he's an idiot. He was an idiot. I'm sorry,
I don't care what. I amso tired of excusing indiotic behavior.
You see a big fence in area, you know why it's restrict did because

(13:01):
there's lots of things in there thatcan kill you if you don't know what
you're doing when you're doing it.It's just it bothers me that, like
this guy, people people just haveno no sense of consequences anymore. Your
actions have consequences. Everything you dohas consequence. I just hope that he
was not, you know, impairedsome way, you know, mentally or

(13:26):
otherwise, and just unfortunately ended upin that area. I hope it's not
something like that. For starters,it's still I don't care how you stack
it. It's sad because you're ina place where it's really fun. A
lot of people are having a lotof fun. And if you just disregard
that and walk into that area becauseyou're I don't know, pushing the envelope
or whatever it is, or somebodydares you, that's a little different.

(13:50):
When you're talking about a thirty eightyear old guy, it doesn't add up
unless he was trashed and he justsaid like I'll be or whatever. I
don't they're not releasing any other detailswith that, but I actually you also
wonder you hope that no one wastrying to take a selfie or you know,
people are trying to do crazy thingsfor the likes and the tiktoks and

(14:11):
all that stuff, and you hopeit's not that either, Right. Yeah,
there's really no good way for thatto even no matter what we learn,
it's going to be awful. Ohhere's oh Sheila, and you never
hear that. Sheila. Sorry,I won't say it ever again, but
Sheila, welcome to the show. All you very changed this check. But
was it the very lucy film nineteenhundred that was like a four hour film

(14:33):
that you were talking about? Thatwas a really long film with Hello,
Yeah, with Donald sou I thoughtshe was talking about the Dave Coolier moment

(14:56):
about the movie, and I waslike, whoa, I have no idea
I am four hours long. Idid not realize Alanis had that kind of
stamina. You know, the moviewas that long. And by the way,
the thing is the one with whatwe were talking about, oh,

(15:18):
Donald Sutherland, And I was like, oh, yeah, the only time
I learn that. The only thingI mentioned was that there was a movie
where he was a high ranking militaryguy, and I remember he was just
totally captivating throughout the film. Butyou said it was kind of a long
movie. Did you say that?I didn't say that. I remember they
were in four hours long. Weall that was a three Scoveny moment.

(15:39):
There was a bunch of misdirection goingon there. It's all I can say
there, but it's getting to us. Sorry, And then it sounded like
something goofy was going on with herphone and we had to move forward.
We are up against it, asthey say, but Shila, thank you.
