Speaker 1 (00:00):
Man, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Early voting starting as well in just a few days.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
So, man, man, man.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Last night it was the vice presidential debate, if you
want to call it that.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
JD.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Vance absolutely brilliant, and let's bring on GOP strategists. Bob
Claig and hey, brother, welcome to the show. Thanks for
joining us today.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hey, my pleasure.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hey, So your thoughts on the on the performance.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Last night, Well, I'll tell you what, guys. You know,
after it was all done, I sat there and the
first thing in my head was I wish Donald Trump
debated as well as JD. Van. I mean, he did
a masterful job. He was relatable, he was understandable, he

(00:51):
was good at defending. He does a better job of
defending Donald Trump than Donald Trump does defending himself. I mean,
I mean, he just he just did a great job.
And the contrast between him and Tim Walls was amazing.
I mean, Tim Walls looked totally lost in that In

(01:13):
that first half hour, which is probably when most people
were watching, Tim Walls totally look lost, he looked nervous,
didn't do a very good job of explaining. Now, like
j D said last night, Tim Walls had a tough job.
He's trying to defend what Tamala Harrison Joe Biden has

(01:33):
been doing for the last three and a half years.
So not an easy thing.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Big whack the mall is how he described it. Yeah, yeah,
and it was.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
I mean, Tim Walls really couldn't do much to defend
their their records.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Well, Bob, I think one of the things that stood
out for me, excuse me, is how cordial, uh that
debate was. I I heard more than a lot of
people going, man, that's what I remember debates used to
be like.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
And I think they're right.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
But I think that it's such a good contrast the
way jd never he never went at Tim personally, like
I think I talked to Kay a couple.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Of people last night.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
They were like, how did he not bring up the
tam puns? How did he not bring up the stolen valor?
How did he not bring up not being in tenement?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, because he didn't.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Need to do that, because he played he took the
high road. Because people aren't going to vote for or
against Donald Trump based on whether Tim Walls, you know,
but where Tim Walls was in the military, where he
had a weapon, They're going to vote based on what's
happening the border crime, economy, war, that's what they were voting.

(02:46):
I thought it was a masterful job of keep being
an above board last night.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Yeah. I mean J. D. Vance's job was to expose
the Biden Harris administration for what they've been doing, and
I think he did a great job doing that. I
think another thing that he did, and it probably was
very much a secondary goal and all this was, you know,
of the four major candidates for president vice president, he

(03:12):
really had the lowest fave un fave, and I think
he did a lot to help people, and I think
it was because people really didn't know him. And I
think he did a lot last night in letting people
know who he was, where he came from. And I
think it's going to help him with his fave on faith.

(03:34):
It was a great way for him to introduce himself.
And I loved how in the very beginning, when they
asked him the first question, he said, yeah, I will
answer your question, but let me tell the American people
a little bit about myself. And I thought that was perfect.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Also, I think that's one of the moments that gosh,
there's so many you know, I jotted a bunch of
stuff down, and I started thinking, like, man, I've got
an enormous page of really positive moments for this, But
the fact that it wasn't very contentious and that he
did not go after him, I think surprised a lot
of people, especially people who don't really know a lot

(04:12):
about JD. Vance And that would probably be the majority
of the of the country, middle of the country going
left towards California. I mean, I think a lot of
people around here obviously know in the state of Ohio
and even Michigan and we can you know, some of
the Midwestern states, a lot of people know stuff about JD.
But there were a lot of people and I felt
like he handled a lot of that stuff perfectly. And

(04:35):
as I was telling my wife, I go, you know,
he's coming across like literally the nicest guy out of
and I say guy or girl, out of the four
major candidates that you put it, He's coming across as
the nicest, most well informed guy out of everybody.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I mean, it was. It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
There were so many different memes now with Tim Watson,
the goofy looks on his during that I was just
showing Josh. But we were going on the air. I
mean the look he was Walls was just stumped. I
think he was just like, oh my god, I'm in
over my head. And you know what, think about what
they were saying ahead of time. We saw some I
don't know some of the statements put out by some

(05:16):
of his staff or whomever it was, that they were
saying that he's really nervous, and all I said, who
were they kidding?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
You know this.

Speaker 5 (05:24):
Guy, Yeah, he had ten years as senator, right, and
then he also was it senator yeah, and also congressman,
and then he also had a couple of terms now
as governor, so he's been in debates before, but he
looked like this was his first one.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It was crazy.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, they were trying to lower the expectations like crazy
because they knew. I mean, just look at the guy.
I mean, you remember how they started the whole weird
thing about JD. Van Well. I think we saw last
night who the really weird person is and that's Tim Walls.
I mean that guy. It's strange, whether it's the way
he you know, answered questions or didn't answer questions, or

(06:06):
the way he looked. I mean, the side by side
shots in this debate did not do him any favors,
and I think that's why in the end most Americans
felt JD. Vance easily won that debate.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, he threw I think he threw off him by
the way how nice he was and too and the
like complimentary. It's saying, you know, I had no idea
that it was at his seventeen year old son that witnessed,
And I feel like he just took Tim off. Was
Tim was completely caught off guard, and you know, you're
seeing it around now, but it's like it almost went

(06:41):
so well for JD. And Tim was like bamboozled that
he's going to cast a vote for Trumpet.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Now you answer, it's sounded like it's sounded like he
wanted to vote for the Trump Vance ticket. Well, but
I mean, yeah, I mean Jim D. I mean I
thought he would do well. I didn't realize how well
he would do. The other thing. I think while he
was he's very smart, obviously and knows all the stuff

(07:08):
about all the different positions that President Trump has taken,
and he knew all about all the problems with Biden
and Harris. He also, I thought, did a great job
of relatability to the average American. I think people came
away from that debate thinking, of those two guys, JD.
Vance is the guy that probably knows best how I

(07:28):
how I'm struggling in the current situation here in the
United States. I thought he did a great job of
relating to the average person that would be watching that debate.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Well and Bob, I thought the funny one of the
funnier parts is when they tried to fact check JD.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
JD fact check the fact checker, Yeah, even though they
weren't even supposed to be doing that.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And he brought it up because you're not supposed to
be doing this, because if you're going to do it,
I'll do it, and he threw it right back at him.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I thought it was brilliant.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
It was, And we haven't talked about the moderators. The
moderators once again, were awful.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I don't the moderators were like, literally Airhead did not
know explain to me why migrants coming in the country
would create a housing crisis.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
JD's just like looking at her like you ever heard
a supply and demand?

Speaker 1 (08:17):
You dumb, but like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (08:20):
And JD today released a letter or the analysis from
the Federal Reserve person that talks about how the influx
of migrants have caused the housing shortage. So, I mean,
he's got it in black and white. But yeah, the
moderators were awful. They you could tell everything with slanting.

(08:40):
How long did they talk about abortion? They talked about
abortion longer than they ever talked about inflation.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, that and climate change, those are like, yeah, climate
change of course, because those are the stronger suits for them.
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
I mean why why why are we spending all this
time on issues that less than five percent of Americans
care about? So, I mean it's it's ridiculous. We as
Republicans are going to have to figure out how we're
going to handle these debates in the future. I mean,
we're setting ourselves up to having these mainstream media outlet,

(09:13):
you know, with their biased moderators doing these things. We
can't do this anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
GOP strategist Bob Plegg joining us, talking of course, about
the vice presidential debate last night. Josh just brings up
the fact checking, the fact checker, and we have the audio.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It would be cut to Zach and Tac cut too,
please cut two if we could, we could do that.
Thank you, Governor.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
And just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does
have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status,
temporary protective more.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Thank you, senator.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
We have so much to get to.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I think it's important economy.

Speaker 7 (09:54):
The rules were that you got a fact check, and
since you're fact checking me, I think it's important to
say what's actually going on. So there's an application called
the CBP one app where you can go on as
an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole
and be granted legal status at the wave of a
Kamala Harris open border wand that is not a person

(10:16):
coming in applying for a green cart and waiting for
ten years thanks the irritation of a legal immigration Margaret
By describing the leg.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
That condescending bimbo, unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Condescending bimbo.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
I wanted to I want to do you know what
slash and then you know that the sound bite is gone,
and a lot not gone, but it stops right there,
but it continues, which they literally cut off their microphone
and I'm just.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Going, I don't even believe I just witnessed this.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
I was like wow, and he's gone, Look, the agreement
was there'd be no effect checking in here you go
doing it.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
And then I think Nora.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
At one point she makes a snide remark when they're
talking about climate change too. It's just like, you guys
are so blatantly left, you don't even care that people know.
But guess what the American people are witnessing. It's on
display and I cannot wait for November fifth man, Hey.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah, talk about the mainstream media censor censorship. My gosh,
we just saw it in real time. I mean, the
mainstream media is going to censor anything that undercuts their
liberal WIAT. Yeah, and they are cheerleading for kamalay Aer.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
You also mentioned earlier too, Bob about the you know
it's basically the whack of mole comment. I mean he
was actually forgiving Tim going, hey, you've got a tough
job here, trying to defend what your you know could
be future boss has been spewing here and responsible for
the last few years.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Here is that clip cut one, Zach.

Speaker 7 (11:49):
Please, honestly, Tim, I think you got a tough job
here because you've got to play whack a mole. You've
got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver rising take
home pay, which.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Of course he did.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
You've got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver lower inflation,
which of course he did. And then you simultaneously got
to defend Kamala Harris's atrocious economic record which has made gas,
groceries and housing unaffordable fair American citizens. I was raised
by a woman who would sometimes go into medical debt
so that she could put food on.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
The table in our household.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
I know what it's like to not be able to
afford the things that you need to afford. We can
do so much better to all of you watching. We
can get back to an America that's affordable again. We
just got to get back to common sense economic principle.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
JD Van so brilliant last night, So brilliant. Bob Clegg,
Bob Clagg. Do you think that JD could be responsible
for gathering more votes based on last night?

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Do you think you think he could?

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Okay, oh yeah, he did something that was very very important.
What he did last night was to remind everyone Donald
Trump was president for four years and look how it was,
Look what America was like. Don't believe what these guys
are saying about how he's a threat to democracy, how
he's gonna send us down the tube. He's already proven

(13:08):
as president the kind of job that he can do.
That was very important to stress and he did a
great job doing it well.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Bob the I mean, I don't know at this point
how many people still were like, I'm not sure maybe,
but you know what, it may.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Only take that much to sway the election, but I.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Mean it's on the margin. Anything can help real quick.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
We got like a minute, but I just wanted to
ask you I said yesterday, and I stand by this.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I think him being on it.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
I think by by Trump being on the ground two
days after the hurricane comes, I think he just won
Georgia and North Carolina. I truly believe he just won
Georgia North Carolina and he's gonna do it by five
to six points.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I think he's got Georgia, he's got North Carolina, he's
got Arizona. All he has to do now is win Pennsylvania.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
And it's over. It's over.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
It's over. And you know what, last night proved that
Kamala Harrison in made the most, uh the biggest mistake.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Of Yeah, it tells you what tells you all you
need to know right who she chose as her running mate.
And you also have to consider this when you watch
these two last night, who is most likely going to
be the best president.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
In an emergency situation? And there's and there's no question
that was clear.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yeah, it absolutely was crystal clear. And it ain't the
knuckle ahead. At least the guy was honest calling himself
a knucklehead, right, ye, I mean, what a what a
masterful performance from jd Vance last night? And people again
where I don't know, I've heard some of them go
well with his Yale. Uh, it's just like, well, wait

(14:49):
a minute, he hasn't even been in politics very long,
as opposed to like Tim has been.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
But Tim looked deer in the headlights last night. Was crazy.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yeah, yep, it was. But a good night J d
Vance and Donald Trump goob.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Strategist Bob Clegg. Bob, thanks for joining us, man, We
appreciate it. We'll talk to you against Sue.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
All right, guys, thank you time.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
See you, brother,
