Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, so Boppa doucheck in studio with me. How are
you man?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm too great man, getting ready for Christmas? It's cold out.
Did some deer hunting, you know, got clear the election
and had some downtime. I just don't know what to
do with myself anymore.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yeah, that was That's the thing that you have to
figure out in this situation, because going into the election
you also had to think about not only well, when
we win this, you stay positive clearly going into it,
but then once the victory happens, you start figuring out.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
You know where you're at now.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
But prior to the election, did you, in your mind,
not telling anybody, but in your mind, were you thinking, Okay,
what's my game plan if if if, if it doesn't
come together?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
If I could quote George Papard from me at.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
You know, in terms of the Trump campaign, Yeah, oh,
I thought he's gonna win the whole time.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
But but you don't have any contingency plan in your mind.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Really okay, not fair enough.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I mean, look, you know, I'm self employed, so I
have a practice a consultancy. So I go and I
have to think about those things for the upcoming year.
But you know, doing this so long. A lot of times,
you know, you have somebody that'll stick with you, you know,
between one General Assembly or something like that for another. Yeah,
and that's fine, but that doesn't happen a lot. So
(01:24):
a lot of stuff comes and goes, and you just
got to be flexible and be able to do it. It
can be disconcerting, but you know, I kind of like that.
You know. It's sort of like we were talking earlier
about Vegas and stuff. I like to go out and
I like to shoot dice and play roulette and have
a good time and everything.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
And don't ever try to get confirmed on his administration then,
because well, because they're going to tear you apart, especially
if it was twenty eight years ago. They're going to
be like, you had too many drinks at a Fox
Christmas party.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Oh that's Pete heads Hexach.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Sorry, well but Blazer, that's you know, I have no
tension to going in you know, look.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Good thing, because man, I've been in Vegas with you.
You'll never get through the Senate so far up. You
have no chance.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Man. Yeah, Okay, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Stop it. I'm just kidding. Don't look at me like that.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
No, it's funny all the bodies, you know, it's it's funny.
The crazy thing about that because a lot of people
are like, hey, you know, are you going what are
you gonna do? Because that's what they asked me, is like,
what are you gonna do? Like, I'm gonna nothing. I'm
staying in hot.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
I'm gonna do nothing. That's what I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Look, look, I love Ohio. I've been in Washington, d C.
My wife and I were down there twice, once in
the Bush administration and then again after that.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
DC sucks to live there, it does.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
It's nothing I like about it.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
You've got to be a freaking millionaire and then you're
not even really living in DC proper.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Right. It's very expensive, it's congested with traffic. They don't
want you driving in that town, so they discourage you
from drumming, you know. So they talk about this doage
thing about all these guys like Department of Government and
about how a lot of federal employees aren't shown up
for work. Well, they're discouraged from it because the city
(03:07):
doesn't want to have the view all the climate change
bs and everything that goes on with that, and so
that all that stuff is discouraged. But even the people
that do drive in, I mean, the traffic down there's
like a nightmare. You come back here and you complain
about the traffic. I'm like, man, you don't know what
you're talking about. Go spend drive time or rush hour
(03:27):
in DC or LA or New York or New York City. Yeah,
like you don't know what you're talking about. Here is
just like you shouldn't complain at all.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Well, the thing is with the way that it is
here in Ohio, the people who complain the loudest are
typically the older people, and by that I mean me
for instance. And here's why. Because our baseline has us
at moving around at a reasonable time frame and now
it's worse than ever. Because you just say to yourself,
(03:58):
doesn't anybody freaking work anymore? Why are they on the roads?
That's what you think to yourself. And I'm on my
way to my job where I do work. But there
are so many people that are dot commerce and everybody.
There's so many different ways to make money now and
as a result, people are able to drive around and
clog everything up during the day. It's not a ghost
(04:18):
town during the day when most people would be at
work if you work, But anyway, continue.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Oh and look that's fine. I mean again, I love Ohio, man,
what's not the love here? I mean, And if you
want to get away from Ohio, get on a plane
and you go.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I mean, but this is home. I mean the people
here are the best people, the you know, you gotta
We're really blessed. There's a lot of good stuff to
do here in central Ohio and a.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Surrounding too, Like a few hours either way north south,
east west, there's a lot of stuff.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
I drive an hour fifteen minutes. I'm in the Wayne
National Forest, hunting, deer, hunting, turkey whatever. You know. It's
it's a great place. And I you know, people give
Ohio a wrap sometimes, but but I'm telling you, I
love it here. I'm gonna die here. To me, this
is like the place to stay, all right.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
So what where were you? I think it's a week ago,
well coming up on.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I don't know when it was when you saw President
Biden pardon hunter when you got that news when you saw,
by the way, was it pretty instantaneously or did you
take you a little bit? Were you hunting? By chance
you weren't hunting?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
If it would have been Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
It was Sunday night.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I didn't I hunted Monday mornings. So but I was
out there at the camp. It came on, you know,
and we've got the Hughes net because you can't get
like real cable there in Shawnee, right, and so it
came up on the Fox News on the hues net,
and I was like, and one of my buddies Dad's
was there and he's like older guy like my dad
(05:53):
before my dad passed away, you know, watches Fox News
and does this. So he's like, oh my god, I
can't believe this. And I'm like. The thing that surprised
me about it was like that they did it, Like now,
like why on earth wouldn't you wait till January twentieth
or January nineteenth and have done it?
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Well, his sentencing was coming up here, like I think
the twelfth or.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, but you can find to laze and things like
that or let it happen. I mean, they're not going
to like take the guy and throw him into jail
right then, and there are they? I mean or maybe
I don't know. I'm not a lawyer, but here's the
thing on it. Just just think about like all. I mean,
he's catching flak rightfully so from Republicans and Democrats and
(06:40):
from the media and everything. I mean, he's really jammed
himself up because outside of you know, the you know,
the Trump you know, Trump administration, the nominees and things
like that, this is the only news that is like
resonating with people, right They've like it's been like over
a week and people have been talking about this thing
for a while now. We were just before the show,
(07:01):
we're watching.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Well the president here, Yeah, KJP, she's.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
And you're going a lot of people are you know,
coming at him rightly except her?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Who is she? Ess? I get it, but still, how
do you defend the indefendable?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Well, you know, I mean we've seen it. I mean
it comes with the territory, you know. And I have
a little bit of sympathy for and empathy because you know,
when you're doing a campaign and you're the spokesperson or
the lead person on the campaign and things aren't going well,
you got to be up there taking taking the hits,
you know, and it comes with a job. But look,
if you're a pro, you understand that and you get it.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
You know, so when you when you heard that that
had happened, and you're so one big thing was the.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Timing for you one hundred percent?
Speaker 1 (07:44):
So what did you.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Think when you heard it was a sweeping And it
goes back to twenty fourteen, there's actual dates, which you know,
all that was about was the president making sure that
as the big guy, he was not going to be implicated.
There's no like, that is all this was about. And
then they know what, Ill just this arbitrary date. Let
me see, they know exactly when all of this stuff
(08:06):
was going. This is so unbelievable. See I'm getting all
mad again.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah no, and listen, you're not the only one. Look,
this is basically I mean, this is an admission that
the that every comment that that that people made about
the Biden crime family is is ostensibly true. This is
nothing nothing. Everything that was said about Joe Biden's family
and and and selling influence and everything else is true.
(08:34):
This this, this validates that. And now they're talking about
these like peremptory pardons for for for for I don't know,
for things that like this is the first I investigated
or charged on.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, you were like bringing it up. I'm like, wait
a minute, and you're so then you're.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Just speculating with regard to you know, well, Liz Cheney
was mentioned.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
So so here's how the stuff works. Okay, Sometimes in politics,
either do things like you rip the band aid off,
like the Hunter Biden thing. Other times you sort of
kind of float stuff out there just to see what
might happen. Called it the trial balloon thing. So they
talk about Mark Milly, they talk about Ms. Cheney, Adam Schiff,
(09:18):
all the people in the FBI. I mean, they kind
of throw this out there because because here's the thing,
because of all this political prosecutions and stuff, we got
to keep you know, Trump who never had any political
prosecutions in his four years of presidency, but because of
all these Joe Biden political prostitutions, we can't let Trump
do that to Democrats. So what we're going to do
(09:41):
is for an unnamed crime that may or may not
have happened, we're going to give these people pardons. This
is insane.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
I mean, he has no legacy to hold on to
so I'm not even that surprised to hear about this.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Listen, it's his kid. I see him doing it first, son.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I never, Bob, I never believed. I've been saying for
months and months and months, maybe even whenever it first
came up, and it looked like, Okay, this is getting
serious with Hunter with regard to you know, the guns
and the taxes, and it started looking like, oh, okay,
they're really they're gonna get They're gonna hang him on
something here or whatever. And then they go they flat
out asking point Blake, are you gonna.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Put And he's like, no, I will not, I'm.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
Gonna let the justice play out, and all I was going,
no way, I'm right on the air going no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
He is lying through his teeth, and I get it.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
I have a son, yeah, and you have, so you
think about what he's doing as a as a dad. However,
I don't know that that's completely all that's happening there
because I feel like it's really mostly about saving his
own ass.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Well, you're that is that. That is the other part
of this equation that hasn't gotten as much attention because
he's gonna have to pardon his brother and anybody else
that was involved in that, and and and again that
means these things will dribble out or they'll happen the
day or the day before the day he leaves office,
and you know, and it'll get lost in the news
(11:08):
cycle or whatever. But when you think about this, this
is like, you know, now, back in twenty fourteen, the
guy didn't know he had any chance of being elected president. Sure,
he didn't think that was going to happen, but he
was cashing in, you know, and he was doing everything
he could, and he figured, like, you know, no one
would ever come to notice this, no one would ever
pay attention to this, and this would go away and
(11:32):
that would be that. And now we all know different.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
The other thing with regard to the pardon the thing
that I immediately struck me as soon as it happened.
I you know, I showed I held up my phone.
My wife's sitting next to me. I held up my
phone with the headline. She goes, get up out of here,
and I go, I know, right, and she goes, that's
real and I go, yeah, it's real. That's a legit
(11:57):
news site. And then she's just staring at me, and
I go, we you know, how long have we heard
nobody is above the law. That's the first thing I thought, dude,
as soon as I saw that, and I go, apparently
Hunter is. And then I told her, I go, this
is just the beginning. And then I said why now,
Then people started speculating. Congressman Jordan was on and I
(12:17):
even said to him, I go, hey, any chance in
your mind that you think the reason that this was
done in the timeframe that it was done was because
they're going to try to put Kamala in as the
first female Democrat president for whatever it is, as legit whatever.
(12:38):
And it's just like what And then some people are
trying to say any self respecting I go stop, let
me stop you right there, because you don't even need
to be using those two words when we're talking about Kamala.
She for the love of God, she was appointed. She
was appointed for the love of God. So I'm like, no, no, no,
you know and and I so people are going, man,
(12:58):
he's just getting us out of the way because he
doesn't trust her obviously to be part of Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Well, honestly, this is the first time I've heard.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Oh you've never heard that.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
No, No, what.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Do you think?
Speaker 3 (13:08):
I mean, you know the look on your face, You're going, well, okay,
look crazy maybe, But then again, this entire administration has
been crazy.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah, That's the other thing is like, listen, I've been
doing this almost forty years. I thought, you know, eight
years ago that like I'd seen kind of all of it,
you know, or at least most of it that we begun. Man,
it's like the one thing it has been more than
anything over the previous thirty some years.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Well, honestly, they raided mar Alago and you went, oh
my god. That was probably the beginning of you going
I don't believe I'm witnessing this.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
That the Russia hoax, the special, the Muller stuff. I mean,
it was so transparently, just like criminal boom. I mean,
you know, Robert Mumueller has besearched his name. I mean,
he took whatever kind of reputation he had and he
just trashed it through that whole process. Us we know
now all that stuff was fake and wasn't true, and
(14:06):
and it's crazy that that stuff went on.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, it is
