Speaker 1 (00:00):
Show. Everybody. Everybody said together, say it together.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Now, it's not the heat, it's the humidity. Just keep
telling yourself that you'll make it through. Greeting, salutations and
welcome to the Martin Glazier Show. I'm Chuck Douglas.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Blazers in DC. I think, I I hope. I'm counting
on hearing from him during the course of the show today.
He went down there for UH, you know, for the
the official the official tabulation and UH and and naming
of the president and UH and vice president of these
here United States of America. And it's it's a big day.
(00:40):
It's a big day in DC. Even they had some
weather down there, but it didn't stop things. I'm gonna
say something nice about outgoing vice president and and failed
the potential president, Kamala hair Zaki. You're ready? Have you
strapped yourself down? Are you okay? I want to make
sure because I don't want you to like launch out
of the chair and hurt yourself, get concussion or anything
(01:01):
like that. She handled it well, Ultimately, she handled it
because you know, this had this is like being told
you got to stand in front of a big room
full of your colleagues and beat yourself in the head
with a stick. And she did it. She did very well,
and she handled it well. I am. I am always
willing to criticize her for her goofiness and her word
(01:24):
salads and all of the various things that she did
to frankly, I think embarrass herself. And I have to
give her credit for this. She handled things well. It
was a matter of presenting the tally, the tally being read,
and then at the end, you know, announcing the winner
(01:45):
of the presidential and vice presidential election. And she did
it okay. So if you didn't get a chance to see,
I'm sure it'll be all over. I mean, there's gonna
be clips for the next three days, I'm sure. And
the I can't show you anything I can I can
well I radio. As I have always heard and always
(02:05):
said and always believe, this theater of the mind. So
if you can picture cam Lakamala whatever standing up there
as they're doing this. As Zach actually pulled some audio
from this today, I think he's going to play it
for us.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
The state of the vote for the President of the
United States, as delivered to the President of the Senate
is as follows. The whole number of the electors appointed
to vote for President of the United States is five
hundred and thirty eight. Within that whole number, the majority
is two hundred and seventy. The votes for President of
(02:43):
the United States are as follows. Donald J. Trump of
the state of Florida has received three hundred and twelve votes.
Kamala d Harris.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Kamala D.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Harris of the state of California has received two hundred
and twenty six votes.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
You know, that had to hurt. That had to hurt,
but she she again, she made it through it without
I didn't see any unnecessary grimacing or you know, any
nasty faces or gestures or anything like that. So if
this is how she used to be remembered her exit
of I think she went out okay, and thankfully you
(03:41):
know is going out. I can only imagine had it
gone the other way last night. Who's in today? Was
it Clay or Buck? That's in some one? I'm's gone
when i'm's there, I think Clay's there and he was
talking about the Golden Globes. I'm not in a war show.
I used to love award shows when I was a youngster,
(04:03):
loved but even the tone that there's no business like show.
But I was an award show guy and then I
quit caring.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Well.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Last night I did watch the opening of the Golden Globes,
largely because I had no idea who this woman is
that was hosting. Do you have any do you know
anything that she is?
Speaker 4 (04:20):
She a famous?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Yeah, she famous a stand up. So I think if
stand ups will get picked to do roasts and stuff,
and I kinda get really bad. I know, Amy Schumer
got big that way, and a couple other comedians get
really big that way, and then you can go on
into your own specials and whatnot. But she's pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I will give her credit too for, first of all,
takings quite a few risks last night, a couple which
even I cringed a bit when she was talking about
the you know, the the after parties not being as
much fun without Diddy, and then she said something about
there she is in I forget the hotel they were
(05:00):
in in you know, this Hollywood hotel, uh full of producers,
and she still has her clothes on, which, you know,
an allusion to the casting couch and what was his name,
the big fat, ugly Harvey Harvey Dirtball and you know
kind of an allusion to people like it. But she
she goes and I still have my clothes on, and
(05:22):
they laughed and she goes. But it was worth it,
and I'm like, wow, wow, diddy jokes and that that
just doesn't sound like typical Hollywood. And she got in
a little political jab but quite frankly, I'm not, Zach,
did you watch this? Did you even see it?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
No?
Speaker 5 (05:39):
But I think I know what you're talking about when
they when she said, you guys can do a lot
of stuff, Yes, elect a press.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
You're so powerful. I've got a room full of all
of these powerful people. You have all you want. You
can do anything you want except tell Americans how to vote.
And I didn't know which way she was going, and
even after she kind of added, you'll get it next time.
But if there's a next time, I'm scared. I still
(06:09):
don't know what her political bent might be. And I
think that is the hallmark of great a great political joke.
You have no idea actually where this woman stands on something.
But it was funny.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
I think it's something.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
It's funny.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
It's funny you could tell when somebody's being biased. Like
The Daily Show with John Stewart is very to the left.
But the jokes come first. That's why it lasted so long.
When you have people who hit the bias comes out first.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Well Colbert forgot that though. Well yeah, and you know
it's kind of funny that he started with John and
what made him such a desirable character and spin off
worthy from the Daily Show is exactly what he sacrificed.
When you guys own show, you don't get it.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Incredible bias. The jokes come first at the bias cup second.
That's the way it has to be.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
And here's something else. Who is he? Who is he?
Have you ever seen? I'm serious now we want to
delve into everybody else's life, know what their legal name is,
and where they were born and who who raised him?
In what school they went? Who is Stephen Colbert? Have
(07:25):
you ever seen any any like sitting down things that
we don't have Barbara Walters anymore, but any interviews where
they really get in depthicult, Yes, he was he was
actually born. Here, here's his name, here's his roots and
all that kind of stuff. It's like he's just he's there,
but there's absolutely nothing underneath what you see on your screen.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
I think he's from Canada, isn't he He's Canadian?
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I don't know, isn't everybody.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
I heard him do one interview with MPR where he
was himself, but he still wasn't himself. He was still.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, yeah, everybody's Canadian, except for of course, Justin Trudeau,
which yesterday, last night, there was an inkling that Prime
Minister at Trudeau may be stepping down, and today he
doesn't step down. Is this a Trump effect thing? I
don't know. I have no idea. I know that relations
(08:25):
between those two men seem to be strained, and I
don't know if this was I don't want to deal
with him or I'm giving up before I get slaughtered.
I'm not sure which it was.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
He definitely couldn't win reelection. Well, well that wasn't gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
And it's a shame. Canada has so much, you know,
natural beauty offer, and I don't know, it's amazing that
we are separated by sawhorses and a mounte between the
two countries, and we are so very, very different in
(09:02):
so many ways. But hey, when they want you know,
retail and healthcare and medical stuff, they come south of
the border. And when we want great fishing and a
nice cabin in the woods somewhere we head north of
the border, so we have something to offer one another.
I just I'd like to see that relationship as a
positive relationship. But I found it very ironic that we
(09:24):
went from uh, you know, mister Trudeau is is hinting
at perhaps resigning, and today he was gone pretty dag
gone amazing. The news reports are all telling you about
the snow warriors. I use that term only to mark
the fact that I don't say snow warriors. Do you
(09:44):
ever say snow warriors?
Speaker 5 (09:46):
I've never heard of that bore.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
This is well something that came about during Michael Coleman's
administration in the City of Columbus. He would refer to
the plow drivers as snow warriors, and it seemed to
catch on. And and I'm not in any way disrespecting, demeaning,
degrading those men and women that are out there driving
those trucks and getting the road salted in the snowplowed
and all that kind of stuff. I appreciate you, I
really do.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
But those guys are awesome.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
I don't know the whole warriors things. Is that just
I don't know, But as far as I know, there
were no incidents today, So congratulations people of Ohio for
not doing anything stupid, driving in front of a plow
truck or hitting a truck that was sitting at the berm,
or doing anything like that. I have not heard any
(10:30):
stories like that today. Have you heard anythings act to
correct me? No?
Speaker 5 (10:33):
But I drove this morning, so it was bad enough.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Well yes, Yet we must get into that as well
before we go into the break. And that is the
driving situation. People.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Is this one of your favorite things?
Speaker 1 (10:48):
People? The two worst drivers in inclement weather are those
that are too confident in those who have no confidence.
You're the worst. And I really, seriously, I wish you'd
just used that flex time. Do whatever, take the paid
time off, but leave the rest of us alone.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
I have.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Just it's been silly out there some people. You know,
you got your big four wheel drive. I can drive
it to speed. I want to speak, no man, you
know what, on slippery Sultan mush down roads, that four
wheel drive doesn't mean much. If you get stuck in
a drift, maybe it'll get you out. But on a
slippery you know, half frozen, no, So stop playing Superman,
stop going you know, ten miles an hour over the
(11:37):
speed limit, and you're scared everybody around you, and you
that person with the emergency flashers on. If you have
to drive with your emergency flashers on, which I'm pretty
sure is illegal, you shouldn't be driving.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
No.
Speaker 5 (11:53):
I have to double down on that because I got
behind that person going down a hill, oh my gosh,
leaving West Jeff had their flashing lights on going down
a hill, the whole roads covered with snow, and just
tapping the brakes and I'm like, I'm behind you if
I'm gonna run into you because I can't slam on
the brakes because of the snow. And then we went
(12:15):
back up a hill and they barely were going and
I'm behind them having to floor the gas just to
keep momentum up to get up the hill.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
I was.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I couldn't tell you the level of fury I felt.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Did you feel as if the break tapping was to
annoy you and tell you to back off or because
they were just terrified of the hills.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Well, I pulled up beside them at what we got
to a stoplight on level ground, and the girl who
was driving was like eight and a half years old
who must have stole her mom's jeep. It was the
first time she drove and snow.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
It had to be in a jeep at that Yeah,
it was bad. It was bad. I was curious. The
good news is I think the heaviest stuff is over.
The bad news is everybody who said, no, there's nothing common,
we're not gonna get any snow. Well, you were wrong.
What'd you get at the house, what'd you get out
there in the far west side.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
I don't I don't know. I didn't measure it. It'd
three four four inches, five inches. I don't know, because Mike,
it was snow was up to my tire, you know,
halfway up to my tires. My tired driveway was covered.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
It was about four and a half inches. My buddy's
Rayan Andy down there in Chillicothe. Andy, the loudmouth one
he was. He said, nothing's gonna happen. We're not gonna
get anything. And last night they got some snow. I
think he told me like five inches and then it quit.
But then while they were sleeping it started over again.
(13:39):
He took the tape measure out this morning, stuck it
down in the snow. It was at thirteen inches on
the ground at his place, so Rai's out there on
the John Deer got the snow, pushing it around, getting
it off the drive and everything. But as uh as
funny as that was, I've kind of felt bad for
(13:59):
it because he was one of the post people's spouting
off of me. And it's never going to happen. The
minute you say something never happens, it happens. And it
happened last night. We got our first decent snow in
quite a while, and it's going to affect, you know,
how things go on the roads because people are going
to be late just getting out of subdivisions because you know,
(14:20):
streets haven't been plowed. So then they're gonna feel Okay,
now I'm on a road that's been plowed, and they're
gonna drive too fast trying to get to where they
Just be patient, don't be too confident, don't be terrified,
and if you're either one of those two things, remember
bus passes are easy to get. Listen on your time.
Speaker 6 (14:37):
Blazer Show podcasts on six ' ten WTV dot com
three thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
With Seck Douglas in for Blazer. We will hear from Mark.
He's hanging out with Troy Balderson, Congressman Troy Balderson down
there in DC today. We'll check in with him in
this next hour. And you know, you know, I don't
want to be uh oh, what's the word I'm looking
for here? Optimistic? I guess is appropriate. But I'm going
(15:05):
to keep checking my mailbox here over the next few
days just to see if my presidential award of something arrives,
because I saw the list of people that receive presidential
medals of this, that, the other thing, especially the other thing,
and and I don't get a lot of these. Did
you get yours? Did you get a presidential time of anything?
(15:26):
You didn't get one?
Speaker 5 (15:27):
No, it's supposed to come fat act sometimes.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah, okay, good luck with that. Probably the two day
expedite is shipping, which will be like three weeks from now.
But yeah, we're gonna go over that list of the
people of the people that merit that that honor. And
some of them are political, some of them are absolutely
not political. A couple of them I actually think maybe
(15:52):
I could agree with, and some I shake my head
and wonder what they're thinking. To be honest with you,
it just I don't so We were talking earlier about
the you know, the driving, the bad driving, the lack
of driving, the overly cautious, the far too brave that
we are competing with for you know, one lane where
we can be sensible on the roads. When the snow
(16:13):
falls in central Ohio, many people were bemoaning the fact
that all were never gonna get anything. They always say
it and it never happens. Well, allow me to say
to you, including my buddy's down there in Chillicothe, who said,
we're not going to get anything. Okay, well we'll get
four or five inches. And then they went to sleep,
and they woke up because it took a pause, and
(16:34):
they woke up and stuck the tape measure down into
the snow this morning out in front of the house.
Thirteen thirteen inches is what they had out there in
front of their house. Now, I don't know how much
that's blown in how much, but they had a lot
of snow to move down there in Ross County this morning.
So my commendations for being as on it, as flexible,
(16:55):
as maneuverable, and all those other good things. Is possible
to not only Chief Meteorologist Marshall McPeak, but also was
Sarah Converse who was on Instagram over the weekend trying
to keep people up to date, and Jennifer Herbert working
behind the scenes keeping everything going. I think personally they
define job. And with that your ABC set first warning,
(17:15):
whether it's from Chief Meteorologist Marhall McPeak, I figured that,
Butter you up a little bit before I put you on.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
Very nice.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
You guys did christ job. I think you called it
like a Minnesota Fats pool shot corner pocket eight ball.
Let's do this, you said, you told us straight out,
you know Southern Ohio would get the brunt of it.
We could see as much as eight up here. However,
you were you were very very cautious about assuring anything,
(17:42):
but you let us know whatever the something is, it's
definitely something, and you were right, and.
Speaker 7 (17:47):
It definitely was coming in. So the question was going
to be where did that line end up? And so
it did come through Southern Ohio with a vengeance. So
there were reports of ten eleven, even saw fourteen inch
reading in Ross County, So yeah, it really came down
there Columbus.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
So far and this is this is.
Speaker 7 (18:10):
The tentative number so far We're not completely finished with
this storm, but so far the airport is reporting four
point three inches, which is not quite as much as
we had last February sixteenth. That was a four point
four inch snow, and so that was the last time
that we had even close to this much snow.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Right was in my yard, well about four and a
half of you were in my yard about actually about
seven if you were on top of the car.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Yeah, right.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
And some of that is blowing and drifting now, so
you may find that some areas that looked like there
wasn't much before now we're getting a little deeper just
because some.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
Of that is blowing around in the wind.
Speaker 7 (18:49):
The wind all led up a little bit tonight, so
we won't have as much of a problem with blowing
and drifting. But it's happening out there right now. Give
it until later tonight for the wind to up. I
think your biggest issue overnight tonight is going to be
the potential for some refreezing. So surfaces that have not
been treated are likely to be wet, and those are
(19:10):
gonna refreeze.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
We're gonna drop to thirteen overnight tonight.
Speaker 7 (19:13):
So you may have some slick spots tomorrow, not just
because of the leftover snow, but because of some of
this refreezing. Tuesday's high up to twenty four degrees and
then a chance for some hit or miss snow Tuesday
night into Wednesday morning. After that, Wednesday's high is up
to twenty three with an overnight low down to wait
for it nine Thursday twenty two, with an overnight low
(19:37):
of six.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
Good times.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Good, I've thought i'd liked you. I am. The good
news is, what do we got seventy one days until
first day of spring? Right? That sounds about right. That's
what I'm going to look forward to. Bring that mault
to the gas station to fire me up. Marshall. It's
twenty seven right now at georg Severe Weather Station news
radios ten WTV, and he says six. Did you hear
(20:02):
him say six?
Speaker 5 (20:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I think the sc she should they should step into
that because that could be considered some dirty talking on
the airwaves.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
That's not how that works.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
He's saying six. Man, you shouldn't say six when you're
talking about temperatures. Oh my knees don't appreciate it. So, uh,
it's just stop.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
We're gonna cant Do.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
You have two ideas or any idea who the two
people I were talking about before the break there the
uh as I said, you know, my eyes have adjusted
with my age and the and uh, you know it's
not you know, the little young hot girls when you're
twenty years old. I guess that's what you see. But
as you get older, your I guess your standards kind
of change. And uh, I don't know if you saw
(20:41):
any shots of de Memoor last night on the Golden Globe.
She finally won a Golden Globe. She said that after
like forty five years, she's she's spent an actress and
finally one one. And you know, I looked at her,
I thought, wow, she's her face isn't as round as
(21:03):
she doesn't have, uh that youthful roundness to her face
that she had, you know back during scene almost Fire
when I just fell head over heels for But she's
still just you know, very very pretty lady. And here's
here's the opposite. I you are familiar, I'm assuming with
(21:24):
Pamela Anderson.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
I am Demmy. Wait, Demmy Moore didn't get a Golden
Globe for stripped tease.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
I don't believe she did, Okay or g I, Jane.
I don't think she won for either one of those.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
Okay, well, there was, you know, one great movie that
she did that I know of at least.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
No, my gosh, that wasn't a great movie. I'm in
my eyes.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
There's great parts of the movie.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
No, And that was that the one I hated so much.
Indecent Proposal, Oh yeah, where they banked on, you know,
hot woman and was it Michael Douglass or Robert Redford?
I think it was Robert Redford.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
Wasn't it indecent for Yeah, you're right, yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
So they bank on the big name Robert Redford and
the beautiful Denimore to be and it was still a
piece of crap movie. I'm sorry, but it was. I
first came across to Anymore in General Hospital back in
the eighties, and the next thing I knew she was
a movie star. And say Almo's Fire, which is like
(22:26):
probably the absolute top of my list of eighties movies.
That's where I went. Now, moving on to Pamela Anderson.
You know she's got a new movie coming out. It's
called The Last Showgirl. Have you seen any of the promos?
Speaker 5 (22:42):
She can't play a showgirl? Can she I've seen what
she looks like.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Well, she's the last showgirl like Lola in Copacabana. Oh okay,
her name was Lola. She was a showgirl. So she's
there's no more over made up implant. She's old. And
(23:05):
you know what. I saw a picture of her and
I thought, because I didn't know who it was, and
I thought, that's a nice looking older lady. I mean,
I don't know how old she actually is. I imagine
she's in her her mid sixties. Is fifty seven? Is
she fifty seven? Okay, well she's not holding it real. Well,
then she's probably in her sixties. But without all of
(23:28):
the flash and glam, the Baywatch stuff, she just looks
like a normal lady. She looks like somebody that I would,
you know, say hello to if I was standing in
line at the grocery store. Nothing wrong with her, just
normal instead of all. Now. See, I know that's not
what made her, but still sometimes doing what didn't make
(23:51):
you make you prominent is what really helps you to
bust out and become even more prominent. And this could
be a big thing for Pama. It really could, because
she might actually get to be if she's any good
in the film, actually get to be considered an actress
and still have some time left to work.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Well, yeah, she still got a lot of time to work.
I know she busted out with the bay Watch show.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Well no, that's see, I never watched Baywatch and they
just did another one of those. But what said was
it the CW network one of them? And I think
it's already been taken off the air, but it was
basically bay Watch twenty twenty four as all it was.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Well, how would that ever go?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Cam?
Speaker 5 (24:31):
You can't recreate a show with David hasselholl.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
I don't know who's making the decisions at any of
the TV networks right now, CBS especially because I watched
Are you a CBS person?
Speaker 5 (24:40):
No, I don't have I haven't had cable in a
long time.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
It's that's channel ten. You can watch sure channel ten.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Then yeah, I'm okay getting a tattooed.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
It was. It was referred to as the Tiffany Network
for years. CBS was always it was the older station.
It was the station that had that catered more towards
the moms and the dads than the kids, which they
didn't necessarily like. But they have been making some decisions
(25:10):
programming wise, and I'm assuming there's some children in charge
of things now, because Okay, obviously I've complained about Blue Bloods.
Losing Blue Bloods is terrible. It was a great, great
experience every Friday night at ten pm to turn on
the television and watch the Reagan family. I think Tom Selick,
you talk about people who adjusted. Tom Selig went from
(25:32):
me and beach bumb magnum to really turning into a
fine actor over the years, including Quickly down Under. But
as Frank Reagan, he was unbeatable. Nobody else could have
played that part. And I think oddly this you might
maybe even google this. I think Selik may be older
than the guy who plays his father, Henry Reagan in
(25:56):
Blue Bloods. I'm not positive about that, but I think
he may actually be older than his dead the the
Wahlberg element, I had no idea it was Donnie Wahlberg
at first. I just like the character. Uh So they
pulled the plug on this show. Actors agreed to take
pay cuts. They were willing to, you know, sit down,
(26:17):
what do we do to keep this show going for
another season? Because we're not done yet. The network did
not want the show, so they finally killed it a
couple of weeks ago. There was a show last season
that I found humorous, creative. I thought the acting was good,
the writing was pretty decent. So help me, Todd. Did
(26:39):
you ever watch that?
Speaker 5 (26:40):
I have not. No, I just started piggybacking off my
parents Paramount plus.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah, it'll admit that. All the year.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
I started watching Criminal Minds again.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Oh no, that's a good one. That's good, So help me.
Todd was a the story of a screw up. He
was a young man. He was a detective. He was
he got into all kinds of trouble. He lost his license. Well,
his mom, who was a prominent attorney, got him off
in a way. He had to basically serve his probationary
(27:15):
period with her working for her without a detective's license,
and they actually came to be very charismatic together. There
was a good chemistry between mother and son, and it
allowed for because she was the more the button up
lawyer type and he was the freewheeling nutcase. They actually
(27:41):
the team worked and there were some intermingled elements there
with you know, her daughter was going through a bunch
of stuff and she was looking for love in all
the wrong places. Good show, and it just quietly was cut.
And what CBS bring us instead? Ellsbeth. Have you watched Elsbeth?
I have not.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
Have I not watched it. I've never heard of it.
By the way, Tom Selleck's seventy eight and his dad
on the show's eighty five.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
The guy who plays his dad in the character, the
guy who plays his dad, Okay, because I didn't think
they had a seven year old five Lynn.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Lynn.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
His name's Lynn, Okay, yeah, so he's actually seven years
older than his son. They've kept Selex's hair died for
the show, obviously, but anyway, so help me, Todd goes away.
They bring back Elle or bringing Elsbeth, which is this,
it's kind of like a woman monk. If you remember
Tony Shalhoubin monk, I just.
Speaker 5 (28:39):
The one where he had OCD.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yeah, she's basically that kind of character. Doesn't do anything
for me. Then they bring back Mattlocke, which, okay, first
of all, it's got Kathy Baits in it, so I'm
automatically probably not gonna like it misery fried green tomatoes.
After that, I have not found anything about Kathy Baits
that has been even remotely entertaining great. Yeah, I mean, yeah,
(29:04):
you're a dirty bird. Yeah. She was a little frightening
in that. But the only thing Mattlock with Kathy Bates
has in common with Mattlock with Andy Griffith is that
every episode they seem to mention Mattlock and the fact that, ye,
(29:24):
it's like the old TV show. Aside from that, there's
no there's nothing. So why would you name it Mattlock
when it has nothing to do with Mattlock and it's
it's not all that great of a show. And last,
but not least in this age where soap operas are
taboo and dying and everything's get I mean, if they're
(29:46):
still on the air, they're shortened or they're moved to
another time slot or whatever. They used to be a
standard on daytime television. CBS is bringing us another soap opera.
Have you seen promos for this?
Speaker 5 (30:02):
Now?
Speaker 1 (30:03):
You need to seriously turn on the TV now there watches.
It's called Beyond the Gates. Google that Blazer show called
four O eights y good African G is good, Cold
Afternoon G. I hope it's good. That probably has been
(30:24):
crily snowing Chuck Douglas in for blazer A two one
nine eight eighty six my number eight two one w
TV and you're always welcome here when I am on
the air. Lots of stuff I want to get to
in the course of this hour. Got some notes, some messages,
some input here. See Ruth Dan hit me up and said,
get Matt Locke a try. It's really good from a
(30:45):
blue blood lover Well, Ruth, and it's it still has
Kathy Baits in it. I'm just saying I'll I'll give
it a try, but I will not expect much. Jimmy
says he lives west of Chillicathe in the town called
frankfort eleven inches on the back deck and send a
picture to confirm what he is saying. Eric goes talking
earlier about the no known or none that I had
(31:08):
seen reports about, uh what do you call it? Accidents,
fender benders whatever between civilian vehicles and O DOT workers.
And he said, at Riverside and Fishinger in Upper Arlington,
a plow truck and a pickup truck collided on his
way to work early this morning. So you have that.
And Maria in response to my I don't know anybody
(31:31):
who calls toach or plow truck driver snow warriors. I don't, seriously,
Marie says, my husband calls the auxiliary snowplow drivers snow bunnies.
I will leave that between your husband and the auxiliary
snowplow drivers. They can sort that out. Snow Bunny's got
like a ski resort named thing in it.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
It means a few other things.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Too, well, does it? Yeah? Is it bad? Yes? Really, yes,
we will. I I've never heard that before.
Speaker 5 (31:58):
That is not something that will the FCC.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Will the FCC get us if you tell you what
it is, yes, well they really, I will tell you
off the air. It's that bad. It's not, Maria. Your
husband is going to jail. It is a prison for
a long time.
Speaker 5 (32:12):
It is a woman who's white who likes black men
for drugs, usually for drugs, that kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
I've never heard that before. Wow, I slope.
Speaker 5 (32:28):
Maybe he shouldn't call him.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Yeah, I might want to get away from that one. Yeah,
I never heard that before. If you're into the people
say all the time, because you know, Mark's always talking
about the food in here, and uh, the French fries
one of the things you hear fairly constantly because he's
always talking about McDonald's. I don't know why he's on
the mcmarrib like like you would think he's barbecue sauce.
Always talking about that McRib sandwich and McDonald's fries. Be
(32:53):
you know, it's not the same since they quit using
the lard. Back when they had the lard, it was
a good prize and I thought every place, every you know,
food place had had removed that beef tallow as they
call it, and went with the all vegetables shortening, no
trans fats and that kind of thing. But you know what,
there is a major player out there that still uses
(33:15):
the beef tallow for the French fries. Any idea, who
I don't know, I have no idea. This is going
to surprise you because they're really not known for their fries.
Buffalo wild wings.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Oh I don't even I may have eaten their ones
or twice.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Do you ever do anything? I gotta work on you
this year, this twenty twenty five is going to be
the year that I make you do stuff. Any stuff
we'll see. No, you need to man get out there
and do it. But anyway, yeah, still using beef tallow
for their fries there at the Buffalo wild wings. So
the Presidential Medals of Everything went out. I did not
(33:57):
get one. Zach did not get one. He was im
just won apparently through FedEx. Well, your medal was what?
The Presidential Medal of what? Uh?
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Broadcasting?
Speaker 1 (34:07):
I didn't know.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
The hand went Yeah, well I applied for it.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
Oh you applied? How did you? What was the process
for applying?
Speaker 5 (34:13):
I just sent a cover letter in to to.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Uh who Joe Biden? Oh you think he got it?
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Well, I think if anybody would buy that story, it
might have been him.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
Was there any kind of acknowledgment that you were under
consideration for such a thing.
Speaker 5 (34:29):
I got a tracking number the whole nine yards.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Okay, yeah, so you think it is coming? Oh yeah,
it's definitely coming.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
They I couldn't. They invited me to the White House,
but we had to be here to do the show.
I couldn't get the time off.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Joe Biden president of these here, United States of America,
at least for a few more days. Awards the Presidential
Medal of Freedom to Hillary Clinton. Let's just think about this,
the of freedom to Hillary Clinton. I'm no, I don't know.
(35:09):
I don't know what freedom Hillary has contributed to. No,
these nineteen Americans are great leaders who have made America
a better place. They're great leaders because they are good
people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and
the world. It's had a White House statement that apparently
came from mister Biden. Biden will also posthumously grant the
(35:33):
Media or the Medal to a former US Attorney General,
Robert F. Kennedy. You know what that is? Right? You
understand why he's doing that, Like.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
The Robert F. Brainwerb Kennedy.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
No, no, his dad, Oh oh no, why to get him?
Junior is going to work in the Trump administration. So
as one last little snub to Junior, you know, being
at the whole Kennedy family turned their backs on hims. Okay,
all right, so yeah, his to his dad, Bobby Kennedy,
(36:08):
who was assassinated. He is going to award this posthumously
to his dad. But you know that is a that's
just a smack in the face to Junior. I did
That's that? Ain't right? Former Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter
George W. Romney, who served as chairman of the American
(36:28):
Motor Corporation American Motor AMC. The people who brought us
jeep and the AMC Eagle Merits an American Medal of
Freedom honor Presidential Medal. Huh okay, that was all before
he became Governor of Michigan, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development,
also the father of Utah Senator Mitt Romney, whom I'm
(36:50):
gonna say it again when when Mitt Romney get a
picture of Mitt Romney and then look at a cleaned
up dapper you know, uh, hair gelled suit wearing under Biden.
That's all I'm gonna say. Jose and dress Or Andres,
renowned chef who brought food aid around the world through
(37:11):
his World Central Kitchen. You ever heard him?
Speaker 5 (37:14):
No, but that sounds like a good thing to do.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
But he's not very renowned if you've never heard of him.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
True. I don't know what the prerequisit's already even getting
nominated for this, honestly.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
But apparently not much because next on the list is Bono,
the front man of the annoying band you two.
Speaker 8 (37:29):
Don't you do?
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (37:30):
Okay, we're okay. I thought we were gonna have a problem.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
My god, they're the worst. I don't understand the hype
at all.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
I really don't I could just feel the arrogance pouring
out of the songs. Maybe it's just me.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (37:45):
Yah.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
Tim Gill recipient of the the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Who's Tim Gill? The entrepreneur who's work at VANSDELGBT? There's
an eye on there too. What's the eye? They keep
adding to the damn thing? What's the eye? Zach? I
don't know what the eye is. I don't want to
say I if I don't know what it means in
her sex Maybe LB lgbt Q I.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
I don't know. I think a cat walked across the
keyboard and that's what they came up with. And they
just keep.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Saying different but advanced LGBT rights and equality. I've never
heard of him, so good for him. Jane Goodall familiar
with Jane Goodall?
Speaker 5 (38:29):
Yeah, I know Jane Goodall. She's the gorilla person, isn't she?
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Well, yeah, the gorilla person, but that she's Yeah, she's
very well known for her work with with primates, world
renowned ethologist and conserve conservationist whose research transformed human understanding
of primates. And and then they have to put human
evolution in there. You see Ralph Lauren was so seriously,
(38:55):
why the hell is Ralph Lauren on it? Presidential Medal
of Freedom to Ralph Lauren? Why so? He puts some
genes out in the eighties with a bullhead on him
got kind of popular, especially the girls jeans that had
the white threads. I love those I did, thanks Ralph.
(39:16):
They were nice. Also helped influence culture, business, and philanthropy
that merits a Presidential Medal of Freedom. William Sandford nine.
This is the one name on the list. I think
it should be there, William Sandford nine.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Bill ny the science guy, Bill Nye, the science Okay,
yeah he can get that.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
He should Yes, he should be there. David Rubinstein or
rubin Stein, never heard of him, co founder and chairman
of the Carlisle Group, where he built one of the
most successful global investment firms. So to chain. George Stevens,
junior American writer and director who founded the American Film
Institute and co creator of the Unity Center Honors. So yeah,
(40:01):
obviously Joe wants one of those ceremonies. The Kennedy Center
Honors Joe. But those are your recipients of the Presidential
Medical Freedom I'm sorry, I don't get it. On grasp,
but I don't understand it at all. And last, but
not least, he's not even in when they do the
little run down here, the article, the column, the NPR
(40:29):
accounting of this story. He's not even mentioned in the story.
But among the recipients of the Joe Biden Presidential Medal
of Freedom George Soros, who doesn't exist. If you ask
any Democrat, George Soros is a figamentation of your magicamination.
(40:54):
He does not exist, and yet there he is getting
a presidential Medal of for you. For what might I ask?
Speaker 5 (41:04):
He's donated billions of dollars to democratic yeah politics.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Whatever happened to the Koch brothers by the way, I mean,
I understand they weren't Trump people, but they were like
the Republican soros Is, except they were very open about it.
They didn't they didn't hide their contributions, they didn't act
like they didn't exist. And I think they may have
had a philosophical party in the ways as well. But
then I know Donald Trump was also a big sticking
point for him. Do you have any idea, I have
(41:29):
no idea. I remember them, they liked Romney. Yeah, they
kind of disappeared from right. Well, a lot of people
like I liked Romney. At one point I thought he's
such a disappointment when he ran.
Speaker 5 (41:44):
Was it twenty sixteen, twenty twelve?
Speaker 1 (41:48):
Was it twelve? Yeah? Has it been that long ago?
Speaker 4 (41:51):
Yep?
Speaker 5 (41:51):
Because sixteen was Clinton and.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Trump, dear heavens. So I went out to the airport
to a hangar to it was basically a night before
the election mitt or omni rally, and it was packed,
(42:13):
great atmosphere, very high energy. They had me move. I'm
trying to remember the name of the band. It was
an older like a seventies band, but they were, you know,
fairly well known that was playing, and so I'm like
downfront where I'm looking right at the band. It was
pretty cool, but they had me move because they needed
(42:35):
access through the area, and they sent me to the
back row of these risers in this hangar at the airport.
I was not happy about that until behind me, about
seventy five feet away, the hangar doors opened and rolled
(42:58):
a jet, big jet, and my seat put me at
eye level basically with the door of the jet, and
they rolled the stairs up to the jet and the
door opened and out came at Romney. So it was
actually a very cool seat. I got repositioned to someplace
(43:19):
I was happier being anyway. And when I left there
that night, I'm not joking. I felt sure he had this.
I felt the energy was amazing, the common sense was prevailing.
(43:42):
I knew that, you know, the elimination of one seventh
of the American economy in the name of government mandated
healthcare regulations was distasteful to a lot of people. I
knew that enough people understood when your president says the
average family is going to save twenty five hundred dollars
a year, what he means is it's gonna cost you
an extra twenty five hundred dollars a year. Most people
understand that. I thought that people understood when they say,
(44:05):
if you like your doctor, you can keep your daughter
doctor really means if you like your doctor so much
for that relationship. I thought most people understood that. And
I left there sure that we would be hearing President
Romney the next twenty four hours. Call me flabbergasted.
Speaker 7 (44:24):
Big Weather Sports and the Mark Blazer Show on six
' ten WTVN four thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
Chuck dougnas in for Blazer. We'll check in with Mark
he's with Troy Balterson down in DC for the big day,
the big the big announcement and and tabulation and well
Donald Trump's our president day. Yeah, so he's down there
having a little celebration going on. Marshall mcpee coming up,
will get a check of the ABC six First Warning weather,
which you know in one word, I think I don't
(44:56):
know sweaty. Can we go with sweatyzac Yeah? ABC six
first Warning. Oh, chieve me. If you're shoveling, it's sweating. Well,
you know what, there you go. You can put a
positive spin on that. You get yourself all bundled up,
you get out there and you start swinging that snow
over your shoulder, and you could you can work up
a little perspiration.
Speaker 7 (45:15):
Yeah, you can stay warm that way, So we get
a little exercise.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
Just don't overdo it.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
And that was a believe it or not yesterday when
when You're a cohort was on Instagram answering questions people everybody,
by the way, bless your hearts, because how many times
can people how about growth seati okay? Thanks? And how
about grove seady okay? And what about growth SETI stop
it read the other questions before you, oh my gosh.
(45:42):
But my question was is it gonna be you know, heavy,
kill you snow or is it gonna be light and fluffy,
easy to shovel snow.
Speaker 7 (45:47):
And so it's cold enough, it's it's light and fluffy snow,
which is part of the reason why it gets so
much deeper. When it's that slushy, wet snow, it usually
doesn't accumulate quite as much. But when it's light and
fluffy and it's able to blow and drift, Now, all
of a sudden, you've got some deeper snow out there,
but it is easier to move, which is at least
(46:08):
one helpful part of this. Tonight. We're looking at the
chance for some of this to blow and drift for
the first few hours of the evening and then the
window let up a little bit overnight tonight. But it
is going to be cold thirteen degrees for an overnight
load tonight. Your wind chills are going to be down
near zero even with just a slight breeze. When it's
that cold to start with, it doesn't take much to
(46:29):
push those wind chills down. Look for some refreezing here
and there, because some of what's out there is wet.
Some of it's been treated enough to keep it that way,
but you may find some slick spots Tuesday morning twenty four,
Tomorrow afternoon, and another round of snow shows up Tuesday
night into Wednesday. Doesn't look like a lot A patchy
half inch or so here and there on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Wednesday's high twenty three.
Speaker 7 (46:54):
We'll get some sunshine again Thursday with a high twenty two.
Speaker 1 (46:57):
I see even twenty two sounds good to me at
this point. Mars, thanks very much. We're twenty six right now.
It's your severe weather station News Radio six n WTV
in the number eight two one nine A two one WTV.
And I had a question earlier about the eye. Is
that what this is about?
Speaker 9 (47:11):
The eye?
Speaker 1 (47:11):
With the eye is what it means? What the eyes
all about?
Speaker 5 (47:13):
Yep, that's okay.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
Well let's go to John on the lgbtq QI. They've added,
I I haven't seen eye, John, what is the I tuck?
Speaker 4 (47:25):
I give up on humanity, man. The world's coming to
and end. Here's what the eye is. People who are
intersex have genitals or chromosomes or for reproductive organs that
don't fit into male female sex binary. Your generals might
(47:47):
not match their reproductive organs, or they may have trace
of both. Being intersex may be evident of birth, childhood,
later an adult, or never.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
Okay, so what's the I stand for.
Speaker 4 (48:07):
Stands for? I don't know, and I give up one.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
I'm probably with you there. I don't know what it
means either, but your your explanations as good as anybody,
Thanks very much. I appreciate. Maybe that's what it is.
I've never there are people, and I know that there
are people that physically, you know, they appear to be
one thing above the waist, but apparently could go either way,
(48:35):
you know what I mean. I'm trying to be gentle
because you might have kids in the car, their their
U echo ramon could could buy you know, either direction,
and so you don't know. So I understand we have
people who are in there, and I'm not being harsh
about it. I'm just saying, look, can we just come
up with like a single letter or a single word
that just includes everything we need to because you keep
(48:57):
adding letters to this thing. There's only twenty six in
the alphabet, so just stop adding letters and let's just
come up with one inclusive. I mean, it just covers
everything worked.
Speaker 5 (49:09):
I've seen an LGBT q Uh I a for a
sexual uh pan sexual? Too spirit? They're they're they're about
true spirit.
Speaker 1 (49:23):
What is too spirit? Uh?
Speaker 5 (49:25):
I forget, I don't think it matters.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
Is that like a Native American thing or what?
Speaker 4 (49:30):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (49:31):
Male female sometimes intersects individuals who combined activities of both
male and women with traits unique to their two spirit people.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
Uh sure, Okay, I've never heard of that either.
Speaker 5 (49:47):
I'm just I'm just reading it.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
This and it's seriously I mean this very since I'm
not going union and poking fun. What I'm saying is,
I'm confused because what did it start off? As you remember?
Was it just LGBT, right?
Speaker 5 (50:01):
I think it was lesbian gay? Yeah, LGBT, no LGB
that was it. Okay, there's a tea at the beginning
it was lesbian and gay and bisexual.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
And see the tea part. I'm still not up with
the tea part because that means transsexual or try. But again,
I'm just I'm being I'm just being honest, being frank,
I'm not sure. I'm not poking. It's not a matter
of going nastiness. I'm being honest. When I was a
younger person. We had what they called the transvestite, which
(50:35):
were guys who wore women's clothes or women who wore
guys clothes. I guess Annie Lennox could have been considered
transvestite from much of the eighties, but she was really
good at it.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
A gender or gender right.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
David Bowie, the gender bender of David Bowie. See, he
stared us that kind of thing. Boy George, who was
neither male nor female. We couldn't tell, honestly, and still
we loved him. About the records, dance to the music.
It was a thing so transvestite basically just met you know,
(51:11):
somebody was wearing somebody else's clothes underneath their business suit
or whatever. And there was an old Christmas song parody
you heard that Winter Wonderland. You remember walking in the
Winter Wonderland. Did you ever have the parody? In fact,
they played it down the Hall on NCI on the
Morning Zoo many many years ago. Walking around in women's underwear,
(51:33):
that was a transvest I saw. I'm not joking, and
that was a It was just part of life. You
knew it was out there. It was just part of life.
So anyway, I'm just saying we keep changing things. The
word When I was a kid, you know, I've said before,
(51:53):
the word gay actually met happy. I knew women name gay.
My mom had a friend named gay. I actually had
a friend in high school. He's still in the eighties
that they referred to. Her name was gay. I mean,
that wasn't her legal name, but that's what they called her.
And then suddenly that becomes a descriptive. I don't know, man,
we gotta.
Speaker 5 (52:11):
When I was a kid, I used to not just me,
but when our friends would do something ridiculous, like our neighbor,
whatever our neighbors go, that's really queer, strange, anything to
do with sexuality.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
And you know, I know, I know, one of the
sweetest ladies on the planet. I went to high school
with her and and she would just go, you know,
she would say, in high school, Charles just being queer.
And then there we went through that, Oh, you can't
say that, that's a bad word. Well now apparently that's
like the right word you're supposed to. I don't know,
this is what I'm saying. Can we just Oh my,
(52:43):
is he standing by? He's standing by? Tell me he's
standing by?
Speaker 9 (52:47):
All right?
Speaker 1 (52:47):
Let him go?
Speaker 9 (52:51):
Heyes, Blazer.
Speaker 6 (52:52):
So I'm here with my buddy, Congressman Troy Balderson, and
officially the one hundred and nineteenth session of Congress.
Speaker 9 (53:00):
I say that wrong, No, you.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
Said it right.
Speaker 8 (53:01):
The one hundred nineteenth Session of Congress begins right.
Speaker 9 (53:05):
So officially it's underway.
Speaker 6 (53:08):
And first measure of business was election certification. And this
was incredible to be in the House Chamber today watching
all the people that you know, you see on TV constantly,
You've seen this place. What a special place the House
Chamber is. And to be in the gallery and be
up there, you know, my mind kind of wonders to
(53:30):
when you know, the great Rush Limbaugh was up in
that gallery.
Speaker 9 (53:33):
Yeah that picture, Yeah, yeah, I mean that's where my
mind wonders.
Speaker 6 (53:38):
I can't help but look around and go, man, Rush
was sitting up here. So many different so much history
has taken place clearly inside those those walls. And to
be a part of it today, to watch the certification,
to watch.
Speaker 10 (53:52):
Kamala Harris have to certify, I'm sorry, I'm laughing, but
to have to have to watch her certified Trump as
the winner of the electioniction three hundred and twelve electoral votes.
Speaker 6 (54:03):
And then the entire gop erupts, which and that.
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Was that was huge.
Speaker 8 (54:07):
But I mean we all uh in a shout out
to JD. I mean we all the whole high delegation
stood up. We some of us gave a oh shout out.
How many people pick that up? But yeah, to see
the Vice President standing up there and announcing the next
President of the United States is Donald J.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
Trump, uh is phenomenal.
Speaker 6 (54:30):
So what it is is like, as you're looking and
watching all of it, the way the whole thing officially
goes first one I've ever actually witnessed. I know it's televised, right,
I mean, but this is the first time I've ever
actually even paid attention to it. I'm maybe it's bad
that I haven't really watched it ever before. But four
years ago, clearly on this date j six, was when
(54:51):
all the melee occurred, some some bad actors and so on.
We've all well, we've all been over that. But man,
the security was more that I even thought. I mean,
it was crazy getting here to you today and just
you know, giving all of the snow and everything else,
it has been an absolutely amazing day.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Man.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
I can't thank you enough.
Speaker 8 (55:11):
Oh well to It's great to have you blazer.
Speaker 4 (55:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (55:14):
The security obviously, you know, with with what took place
four years ago. Now it's really quiet around here, so
we have a lot of we probably have more security
than needed, but you know it's a nice precaution obviously
with the.
Speaker 1 (55:27):
Snowstorm coming in. You know, it was kind of fun.
Speaker 8 (55:30):
It was an adventure this morning trying to get you
across the as I should say the border to get
you inside the capitol here, but it all worked out.
And grateful that you were here and able to do man,
this is Yeah.
Speaker 6 (55:42):
This is clearly an event of a lifetime for me,
a bucket list and I was beside myself when you
asked me, Hey, would you want to come and watch
the certification? But to be a part of history like this,
especially given forty seven coming in in just a few
days fourteen days or now. Can't get here fast enough,
(56:03):
but to be a part of this whole process and
watch it all play out, and then our very own
jd Vance of course from Ohio and him being Vice
preend it's extra special everything that's going on for us,
proud conservative Ohio wins man.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
It is.
Speaker 8 (56:17):
And from where you were sitting you could see JD
two and he was in front of me, and just
to see his expressions and everyone just talking to him
as his name was being spoken out, you know that
he had won the electoral College votes for that.
Speaker 9 (56:35):
It was pretty special.
Speaker 8 (56:36):
And to see you know, our newest Senator Bernie Marino
standing up to and Bernie was on the same row
as JD.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
Was so pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (56:43):
To have the high delegation all right there front and
center in a big special day.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
For sure.
Speaker 6 (56:48):
Yeah, this has been This has been absolutely amazing. The
whole thing took around thirty five minutes. So I remember
when we were talking about it. You know when I
first you started bringing up, Hey, do you want to
come and check this out? I was like, so when
does it? You go, well, it'll get underweight. Well you
were like, well hang on, you're like yelling in the
other room. Your staff, they're like one o'clock. It could
(57:09):
take two hours unless it gets really tricky and people start,
you know, protesting or I don't know if that's.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
The word objecting. Objecting.
Speaker 6 (57:18):
Yeah, if they start objecting to some of the certification,
then clearly it could go on for hours or what
have you. But yeah, the whole thing took around thirty
five minutes, a lot quicker than I thought.
Speaker 9 (57:28):
But then this morning you said, well, this is going
to be a fast one.
Speaker 8 (57:31):
Today it was, and you could see it kind of
play out. Look, President Trump won overwhelmingly. I think, you know,
if the electrical colleagues votes might have been closer, who knows,
but we're not gonna speculate on that. He got three
hundred and twelve. It was a unanimous decision to have
Donald J. Trump as our next president of the United States.
And this morning, the conversations, you know, early when we
(57:54):
were getting together with some other members was that, hey,
be ready, it's gonna be pretty quick. The Democrat her
just kind of doing their thing and doing what they're
supposed to do, and this should go pretty smooth.
Speaker 6 (58:05):
So we finish up, we're out in the halls and
we're getting ready to find the We're headed toward the elevator,
and you know, Marjorie Taylor.
Speaker 9 (58:14):
Green stand out in the hall.
Speaker 6 (58:15):
She's kind of holding she's kind of holding courts some people.
It looks like media was saying they're talking to her.
She had her big bright maga hat on make America
great again. So then we go over and We're at
the elevator and Lauren Bobert, Representative Bobert from Colorado. So
she's like with us, and we know there's, yeah, there's
been some things in the news about her and so on.
Speaker 9 (58:36):
Then I am two for two.
Speaker 6 (58:38):
When I'm in the Capitol, Nancy Pelosi on her walker,
Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi comes, you know, shuffling up on
her walker.
Speaker 9 (58:49):
And then you know, Steady Stenny Hoyer.
Speaker 6 (58:52):
Steny Hoyer actually says, hey, can we we let speaker
onto the elevator. So she got she did get in
front of us, she did ditch us, but I suppose,
I don't know, that's the least we can.
Speaker 9 (59:02):
Do for it was a hard day today for her,
it really was.
Speaker 6 (59:06):
So I was like, all right, we'll let her get on.
But how was it, Troy that two for two. Both
times I've been inside the Capitol building, she's behind us.
In the one time she goes walking by, that was
when she was still speaker.
Speaker 9 (59:19):
Then she was still speaker.
Speaker 8 (59:20):
Then when we were walking by and she had that entrage.
I mean, you can't make this stuff up. I mean
it was hilarious. And as you said, she was too art.
She was there and behind us, so we didn't know
she was even standing back there. And Stanny Hoyer said, gentlemen,
would you would you mind letting them? Can the speaker
get on for I'd like speaker words, Mike Johnson. I
(59:41):
turned around right right, and there's a speaker, Pelosi with
her her walker, and she went right on.
Speaker 9 (59:48):
So it was good, so so cool. What an amazing experience.
Speaker 6 (59:53):
And Congressman Troy Balberson, I can't thank you enough for
making it happen.
Speaker 9 (59:58):
And it's a very special thing.
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
What a special place, the Capital, and to be inside
the House Chamber, incredibly incredibly special, and to witness the
certification of the election, and now forty seven set to go.
It's official, and all we got left is the inauguration.
Speaker 9 (01:00:15):
So we're fourteen days from that baby thing.
Speaker 8 (01:00:17):
He will be here in the Washington the Capitals where
they played about him is Capital Arena. He's on a
rally there the night before the inauguration on method If
that's out there, yeah yeah, but anyway, so twenty thousand
seed arena, I can sit here and guarantee you that
it will be full.
Speaker 6 (01:00:35):
Oh yeah, there won't be one empty seat obviously in
that place. Troy I can't thank you enough once again
and appreciate it on behalf of the Mark Blazer Show.
Thanks man for making me a part of this and
enjoying a very special advanced special day.
Speaker 8 (01:00:49):
Hey, thank you Blazer. You're a great American, wonderful, wonderful.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Well, that's got to be a great opportunity just to
hang out down there with the Congression.
