Speaker 1 (00:02):
I'm trying to get this. Well, there we go.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I was trying to get a better copy of it, but.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Chuck, your face is priceless. I was trying to.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well, I was trying to find I tried to email
this too much, and because I don't know, it was
all this goofy stuff, because it was, you know, too
big of a file, this or that. I was like,
I can't get a good copy of this. But it
was that was our gondola. Uh what do you call them?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
A driver? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
A gondolier.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
A gondolier, that's it. And that was one of the
things we did in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Remember, I was they had That's what I was saying.
Where'd you encounter a gondola? I didn't know they had
those in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's inside the Venetian and you you know, there's all
these waterways and you can get on there. And that
was literally Jenny's birthday was on Tuesday, and so we
did that for the first time. Yeah, I happened to
Las Vegas a million times, and I was telling you
we did so much stuff for the first time this
past week.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, you had her with you. You finally did some
romantic sweet stuff instead of just all that deck in it,
sitting at tables going take my money please.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
No, she's been with me plenty of times out there,
but this was one of the times, like, hey, do
you want to do this?

Speaker 1 (01:47):
And her eyes lit up.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Let me tell you she's still swooning from that. I
mean really still swooning. He's the radio voice for the
Columbus Blue Jackets, Bob mcgeligate joining us Now. I was
trying to do one of those rides, Bob, when I
was out there.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
One time again Gondolier. A lot of people don't know that.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
But uh yeah, no go.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
He wouldn't do it. He's like, no, no, those gone,
they're not big enough. I can't get far enough away
from you blazer during something like that. So that's what
I was trying to do, but I guess it was
no go, Bob.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
How are you man?

Speaker 4 (02:21):
You are the only person I know who takes a
vacation and comes back on a holiday. You know that's
a market you get, you get double pay.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
That makes sense, you know it's funny. I uh no,
it's a it's a holiday. It's technically a holiday. But no,
I I don't I don't get double pay.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
But that's an interesting take on that.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I mean, I figured you had already set that up.
I'll come back when I can make twice as much money.
I'll skip the week before.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, no, I was at your favorite bar out there,
the Chandelier Bar.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
We we did.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
We hung out there and gave them a little bit
of money, uh, my wife and I and so that.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
That was good.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Unlike the other places you can go in Vegas, that
one doesn't get the money back.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Yeah, that bar does not, you are correct, But man,
is it a spectacle to see that. And I wanted
to make sure my wife she had not seen that before.
She had never even been inside Cosmopolitan. And so I
was like, so we were walking up and I go,
all right, And so I was setting the scene for
the last time I was there with you guys, and
I was like, hey, you know, you know and like
me a.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Point where right here.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
I I did end up telling her about that, and
she's like, why did you just do the dip out?
She goes, You're going back to when you were younger,
because I was known for that. When I would, you know,
I'd get I'd have a couple of drinks and I
just would be like, I would just be like, okay,
time to go, and if nobody's around that I was with,
I would just leave without saying. If you happen to
be standing there, then I'd be like, all right, we'll

(03:53):
see you, you know, and just walk off.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
But it was one of those times, I guess last time.
So I felt stupid about that.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
But because you, he texted me the next day he goes,
there is no way you just left us, man, what's
wrong with you?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
You know, unless you go one of those people you
that doesn't know how to part ways. So don't came
in and see you letter.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I came out, I see you later.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
But hey, by the way, yeah, there is no by
the way, I'm going right right.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
No, Bob is definitely not that guy, I promise you, man,
I get two words from him as far as a
reply on a text, I'm certain he's not that guy
in person. If you're trying to leave you to hold
you there right that you're like bye, yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Man.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Well, you know, it depends where your status is on
a given day.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
But I mean I never even got the opportunity you
just took off.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah, I know that was that was the thing off.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
And then I'm coming to the game the next day
and Chuck, not only did he just disappear, but then
the next day he's like, off the planet. You can't
even find the guy.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
And you heard about it. Next time he wanted something right,
well up there you go. See, well, so.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
See what had happened was what had happened the.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Part shuck where he says I was making a gazillion
dollars in the tournament.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
So yeah, he had us set up at T Mobile
because we were gonna go watch the Knights in the
Jackets and they you know, and so uh, I I
was in a tournament that I got to the final
table on and I ended up making a chunk of change,
and I was waiting on all of that stuff, and
the game was starting and I'm like, oh my god,
I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Go, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
I kept going so and then by the time it
all was settled, it was I don't know, into the
We were probably midway through the second period before we
would have even started that way.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
So then I was like, oh, this is probably.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
Not worth if you know what the moral of this
story is what he is a hell of a hungover
card player.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I did do really well that day. I will say
that I did amazing, man, uh, really really good. Was
a really really good trip.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
That was like brain man that day at the table.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, it was great, it was yeah, it was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Would you like to hit?

Speaker 1 (06:07):
Hit?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Definitely, definitely hit.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
It was great. Yeah. You know that's a hard eighteen right,
like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yah for.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Sure's three that's twenty one. That's right. That's funny.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Right.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Is that good? That's pretty good? Right, it's pretty good.
I have a good chance here. Yeah. Dealers don't like
when you speak to him like that.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
There's no question. Yeah. So we got back.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
We got back Thursday, and and you know, I'm I'm
somewhat loosely following what was happening in the Four Nations
tournament and Saturday night. And I saw your post by
the way, Bob Bobby Max Sports. I saw your post
where you were like, man, I would have loved to
have called those fights. But something happening like that, I mean,
the average person who may have just clicked on hockey

(06:52):
to go, oh it's USA, all right, let me click
this on and see they were the average person who
doesn't follow it and even the people that I mean Jody,
I saw his tweet. I was just like and the
whole hockey world for that matter, three fights and nine seconds.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Have you ever seen the likes of something like that.
It was crazy.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
You can't get three fights in nine months sometimes it's
like anymore, let alone nine seconds.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
It incredible though, to watch right, I mean, gosh, I
it was like they dropped the puck and then dropped
the gloves, and it was nineteen fifty seven. So then
those two go to the box and then they come
out center ice.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Dropped the puck, drop the gloves.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Now it's nineteen fifty four, and so those two go
to the box and they go center ice dropped the
puck and then they drop the gloves again. Now it's
nineteen fifty one. Nine seconds is gone, and there hasn't
been any hockey at all, just tilt all full, just
everyone beating the hell out.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
If he took about the time on the clock, I
couldn't figure it out because you said the fight started
it was nineteen fifty seven, and then it was nineteen
fifty one. Him like he knucked his ass back in time.
That's a good fight right there.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Those ka chuck brothers.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I don't know anything about other than what I just
you know, saw that night. I mean to to witness
all of that, and I'm sure you were watching.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Right, you have to have been watching.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Yeah, But your thoughts on that, watching those two, they're
they're pozzessed.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Many.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
I thought it was awesome. I mean, they you know,
I understand, you know, Matthew Kachuck wanting to start that
game with a fight, and you know, you go back
to nineteen ninety six in the World Cup of Hockey.
Their father started the game like that with a fight.
So it was kind of a you know, throw back
in a tip of the captain dad what he did

(08:41):
in nineteen ninety six. But I think that they felt
that it was important and it turned out to be.
I mean, you're playing in Montreal, you're playing against Team Canada.
You feel you've got the better team. You know, you've
got the tougher team, and so you exploit it right
off the opening face off. And then you know, once
Matthew Kachuck fights, Brady Kuchuck's like looking at Sam Bennett,
He's going, we're going next, And so it just comes

(09:03):
over the boards and takes the face off and they
go and JT. Miller couldn't wait to get into something,
which he did a couple seconds later. So, you know,
it's so funny because I saw some people who I
know are hockey fans, I know follow the sport very closely,
and some of them were just complaining on social media
about how barbaric it was. And hockey gets a chance

(09:26):
to put itself on center stage on network television and
this is what they do. And I'm thinking, dude, you've
got more eyes on this game after the first nine seconds,
then you were going to get the entire game if
that didn't happen, quite frankly. So you know, I thought
it was great, and I think much like it's kind
of funny how this works out, because you know, much

(09:47):
like nineteen eighty, not like nineteen eighty, but there's a
similar situation. There's something going on in the world politically,
and the two nations face each other on the ice,
and it has kind of a a bigger in some ways,
a bigger implication than just the game itself. So I
thought everything about it was great. And I'm sure the

(10:08):
Canadians who are beating the crap out of Finland right now,
and they'll learn a spot on Thursday to play the
US again. I'm sure their mindset is we'll just get
them in their building this time.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
So we got to be a couple things.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
So with that, Yeah, the booing of the national anthem,
when the when the national anthem was saying it.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
Was boo boo people, the boo.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Birds came out, and so I saw a lot of
people their assessment was Okay, that's the way that started.
And so then we just kicked your ass on the ice.
Then we kicked your ass in the game too. So
take that Canada kind of a thing. And then you
got some Canadian people that are saying, well, this is
not about.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
You specifically that we're booing. We're booing your president.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
And people are like, well, I voted for this president,
so you're booing me, that's what you're doing. I mean,
there's just this back and forth, and I get why
a lot of people are like, I don't want to
get involved in that, especially depending.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
On where they're at. They're players being asked about it,
and they're like, ah, no, no, no, I'm staying out
of that.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
You guys, you guys talk about that. I'm not talking
about that kind of thing. And that makes sense to me.
With the players, why they would you know, if if
they want to take that, that's great that if they
want to take that stance, because look, they have to
after all, this is over and it's going to continue.
It's not like this is a one off. We're playing
Canadian teams constantly. We're back and forth, we go there,

(11:24):
they come here, blah blah blah, and that's gonna happen
every year. So this is something that I hope goes
away fast quickly. As far as USA play at Sweden tonight.
Do we have to win though to get the Thursday correct?
Oh we don't.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Okay, Okay, that was guaranteed on Saturday. Okay, this is
a This is a I don't mean this in a
bad way. This is a throwaway game. I would think
if there are guys, and there are some guys that
haven't played yet, like I wouldn't be surprised. And I
didn't see what they did at the morning skate today.
But if Hillibuck doesn't start in goal, that wouldn't shock
me because there's no need you need them on Thursday.

(12:00):
Guys that haven't played, you have a chance to put
them into the lineup here.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Tonight, watch them go out there and win by eight.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, not by eight, but I think they'll win. I
you know, it's nothing against Sweden. All these teams are
good teams.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I think I'm thinking the ones who didn't think they
get a shot getting to go out there and just
play their butts the ice.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
I see what you're saying, ring at all interesting? Okay,
do you agree with that assessment? Possibly? Bob, what's that
what he just said? Like the fact that you got
some guys?

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, well yeah, I mean, look, let's be honest about it.
Like Matthews could Chuck got hurt in that game against Canada.
He didn't finish the game. He was on the bench,
but he didn't play after a certain point in the game.
So he's not going to play tonight. Chris Crider from
the Rangers is going to go in. You know, And
if I'm Chris Crider, I'm saying this is probably my
one chance because you know, Matthew K Chuck's going to
play against Canada on Thursday, come hell or high water.

(12:54):
So whatever opportunities I get tonight, I got to try
to maximize and make the most of. So yeah, absolutely,
anybody who plays in the game tonight, especially if you
haven't played in the first two, you're you're gonna give
everything you got.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Can we get a fourth fight on Thursday? Like I
have a total of four during that game.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Maybe, now, let's see that'll be everybody will be expecting that,
who happened again? And I don't think it's gonna happen
the same way again. You know it could, but I
don't expect that. I think that was message sent, message
received in the first game. And hey, look now Canada
knows that it could happen. Like I thought that whole
game change. It wasn't the fight to change the game.

(13:32):
I thought the whole game changed. Canada's up oneed nothing,
Conor McDavid into the US and on Charlie McAboy just
cleanly with a fair hit, knocks him right out of
the play, knocks him in the air, down onto the ice,
and the US goes back up to the other end
of the course. Soon after that, I thought that was
a turning point of the game. And then they were
on McDavid like they were on him like a blanket

(13:53):
the rest of the game. They couldn't they didn't let
him get his speed going which is how he scored
the first goal. And today his heat is on fool display.
He's out there like like there's no defense whatsoever for Finland.
So they're gonna do that again. They're gonna, hey, look, boring,
defensive hockey is winning hockey. And they proved it in
that game. I was sitting on my couch going quick
dating your own zone, get it out, let's go go tack.

(14:15):
What are you doing? It's only two to one. In
the game plan they played it, they didn't care if
it was two to one, three to one the way
it ended. They were just gonna make sure Canada got
no more than one.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
How proud are you of?

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Zach Warinsky tied for the tournament scoring lead with four
points three assists, of course versus Finland and then the
one versus Canada. I'm so it's just like, man, his
brilliant play continues, you know, well for a.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Guy that came into the season with this goal to
make this team and not knowing if it was gonna
happen or not, and then to watch the way that
he's been playing, which made him a no brainer pick
for this team, and then watch him go out there
and just do what he does every day. You know,
he's not doing anything different. In fact, he played less
minutes against Canada than he's played in the game all
year by far. Yep, but that's because there was a

(14:59):
lot of defense. And you know, he's very offensive minded
number one, but they wanted the lockdown and they wanted
to play a lot of defense, and and that's fine.
So uh yeah, I mean, it's it's great to watch
him play. I sent him a text yesterday and I said,
you know, it's been it's so fun to watch you
play Best on Best. You deserve to be there, and
you know, good luck this week. And you know, he

(15:20):
said back and he said, I'm having so much fun.
I'm so appreciative to be a part of this and
I hope we win it this week. So it shows
I couldn't be happier for Zack.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Yeah, it shows, no question for Zach. It shows he's
just a he's just a pro. The guy's just goes
about his business. It's it's amazing. He's like poetry watching
him out there. And this is coming from a guy
who you know, I don't have trained eyes, but you
can see it.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
It's different. What's going on with him right now, well, man,
I'm you know.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
People talk about playoff hockey and all of that. Man,
this is going to be Thursday night electric. What we
see it was going to be crazy energy and there's
just going to be so much energy around this game.
I would imagine because this is for all the marbles,
bragging rights, there's extra stuff involved.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
It seems like, so this is, uh, this is going
to be fun. I would imagine on Thursday night.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Oh, it's gonna be a blast. It's gonna be uh. Look,
as soon as Canada is in that game, the hype begins.
Even before the US plays tonight, the hype is already
one for the rematch on Thursday night. So it's it's
gonna be great. And I you know, when they announced
this tournament, I was to say skeptical. I was just like,
why are you shutting down the league for two weeks
for this? I mean, it's a league created tournament. You

(16:34):
don't have the Russians in it, which I think is
ridiculous and all that stuff. But you know what, it
has turned out to be just what the doctor ordered
for the NHL and for the sport. It's had great
exposure on Saturday and because of what happened Saturday. I
think there are gonna be a ton of eyes on
this game Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, man, this is gonna be good. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
And then on Saturday, of course I'll be in the
building because the Blackhawks are in town and natal mind
Arena and the Blue jack gets back at it, and
you're back at Have.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
You enjoyed some time off.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Have you been able to at least take a little
bit time off or have you had to still kind
of work.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
During this whole time?

Speaker 4 (17:09):
It's mental break.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
It's good, you need that.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
I've done some work, but I'm not, you know, not
going to the rink every day. I haven't been down there.
And went to the OSU basketball game yesterday and just
kicked back, which was kind of nice. So you know,
it's been nice. It's been nice break. But make no mistake,
Blazer Saturday is a must win game. Yeah, it is
a must win game. Chicago stinks back to business. They're brutal.

(17:33):
They're brutal, and that's two free points. You don't just
show up and get them in this league. But by god,
you should be able to beat that team, and those
are important. You've got Dallas coming in after that and
then you're going back to back with the Red Wings,
one at their place, one at the Ohio Stadium. It
is a really really big week coming out of this break,
but Saturday is a must have two points.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yep, no question about that. The guys know it too.
And uh, you know we're looking for some good stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Well, they do really well on whome Ice.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Uh you know, this whole year, it's been pretty solid
for the Jackets on whome Ice. Yeah you did. You
said they stink, They smell, they stink. They're terrible.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
Not that they can't win. Anybody can win on any
given night. For the most part, on most nights, they stink.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Radio voice for the Columbus Blue Jackets Bob mcgelligate.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Way, I love I love Fliggy too, man, So I'm
with you.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Yeah, I know, but stinks.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Bobby Max Sports there too on the ex Twitter or whatever. Bob, Thanks, brother,
appreciate you, thankes see you
