Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, yet somebody else has died taking a selfie. Man,
what a stupid way to go out. Yet another person
opted for their own demise. The ultimate selfie is what
they were after. It was in Sri Lanka, this time
(00:21):
fifty three year old grandmother named Oga, and she was
traveling on a famous train line there in Sri Lanka.
She leaned out the train to get a shot of
living her best life, and that life ended when she
hit her head from a rock that was sticking out
while she was sticking outside of the train taking a
(00:41):
selfie shack. She never saw it coming. Dude, You know what,
these get reported, But I bet you think about how
many more of these types of things happen that don't
really end up making the news.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
But every time I see.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
One, I do like to spotlight him because what a
stupid way to leave this earth?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Just dumb.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Can you imagine if you have time for one final thought,
what that final thought would be. I mean you, you've
got to hate everything about yourself in that one split second.
How dumb could I possibly be?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Exactly? It's like, oh that's it. Hey.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Congressman Jim Jordan's joining us. Uh, just back from his
trip to Israel.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, how was that? How was that you start?
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Yeah, when you started that segment or that that that story,
I thought you always see when we were at the
Grand Canyon and you see these people who get out
over the whatever, the barrier whatever, and they're out there
and it's to take like pictures, and we were there
and it was like there was some some like snow
on the ground a little bit, and I'm like, this
is scary. I had to walk away because I was
afraid someone was going to have them. So I thought
(01:50):
that's what it was going to be. I didn't realize
it's gonna be someone who is just terrible that they
put their head out the window and hit some haks.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Wow, it's absolutely awful.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
And then they point out that she's a grandmother, and
it's just like, you know, right, she's fifty three years old.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
It's like you you know what you expect. And we
kind of talked.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
I think there was a story last week or something
that had to do with this. But when you see
those stories start, I get more shocked when I see
their age is fifty three, I'm like, man, you expect
that when they're like no better sixteen or you know
something dumb like that. And look, it's not like it's
more tragic either way. You're talking about a loss of life.
But somebody's fifty three, you would think they'd have more
(02:29):
wits about them than to than to I mean, and look,
nobody plans on that.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's why it's called an accident. Yea. But man, that
is some people go, that's sending of the herd, That's
what that is.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
But it's terrible, sad, it is, yeah, but the to
the We had an amazing trip to Israel. It was
in somebody's kind of kind of a heavy trip a
A and obviously sad because we visited some of the
sites where the terrible, terrible things took place where Hamas
is evil terrorists organization, you know, down to the concert
site in the southern part of Israel where so many
(03:01):
hostages were taken and so many lives were taken as well,
and one of the kibbutz where they lost one fourth
of the members of that particular kibbutz Nero's right on
the border of guys. But we were all over and
it was but it's always This is our sixth time
going to Israel in the last I guess what eighteen
seventeen years, and you know, every time you go, you're
just struck with the fact that the resilience of the
(03:24):
of the Jewish people and the miracle that is the
country of Israel. It's just it's truly a miracle. It's
an amazing place. And we were from the north to
the south, and we spent a lot of time in Jerusalem,
and we met with the Prime Minister and the opposition
leader and the speaker of the Kanesset and our people
of to keep people in the idea. But it is
a fascinating trip. And the Middle East has changed their
(03:44):
magic because Israel's got Hamasa on their heels, has bullet
on their heels. They attacked I Ran after I Ran hit,
you know, they went and destroyed a bunch of a
bunch of their air defins system and Iran with their
air force after our RNTs and all the missiles on
onto Israel. And then of course there's a whole new
leader in so it's a completely different Middle East post
this this terrorist attack on October seventeen year and a
(04:07):
half ago than what it was, and so fascinating, fasting place.
I don't know if you've been there, before, but I
would encourage everyone to go see uh and of course
we did all the Christian the city of David that
the path of the pilgrimage path Tilgrimage trail up to
the temple is now almost fully uncovered. Now it's a tunnel,
(04:27):
but really fascinating and so anyway, I've said too much,
but as an amazing trip.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
No, when you think about the footsteps of Jesus in
that area. My parents have been and they have pictures
and Sea Galley and all that they they have been.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
They've been over there just the one time, Jim it's been.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
It's been quite a while now, but yeah, we talk
about it sometimes, well, when we're all around, I'll kind
of bring it up and just kind of let them,
you know, kind of lead them and they start reliving
it and talking about it. It's it's absolutely fascinating when
you think about everything that's gone on there, and I'm
sure it's not lost on you. I was thinking as
you were talking about this, I was like, you know,
(05:05):
there are so many people on this earth, most people,
as a matter of fact, basically the entire population that
cannot talk about a you know, an experience like that,
Like you just talked about how you were there and
and certainly in a somewhat government capacity and so on,
but just that kind of an experience that you were
there and experiencing. Most people hear that, and again I'm
(05:29):
sure it's not lost on you how special that is.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Yeah, No, it's I would encourage all your listeners if
they get a chance, ever get an opportunity to do it.
I mean, you you go to places that straight from
Scripture because you're in you know, you're really today in
some areas, that's Israel, where most of the Bible took place.
That's fascinating. We were up in Copernium, as you point out,
at Sea Galley where Jesus ministry sort of began, and
(05:54):
so all fascinating stuff. And then frankly, it's just the culture.
I love the Mediterranean food. I gotta be honest, it's
there's so many things that are about the trip. But
I really enjoy the political that the difference in a
parliamentary system versus our system. It's it's a it's a
it's really different. I mean it's again it's a democracy,
(06:15):
of course, and it's the one one democracy, true democracy
in the Middle East. But it's it's it's a different
kind of system. So I kind of enjoy all that
as well.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Very very cool.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
So what's your report cards so far? On forty seven?
He's been excuse me, he's been in office a little
over a month now, and it feels like it feels
like he's gotten like three years where the stuff started
and slash some of it done. But what are your thoughts, like,
what kind of stuff pops into your head when you
start thinking about these first thirty little over thirty days
(06:46):
of President Donald John Trump.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Well, I think it's the border and I think as
dose are sort of the things that stand out. And
then of course there's we were just talking Israel, and
there's the foreign policy. But there's one of those three
big category the intensity and the focus and the pace.
We've never seen, certainly in my lifetime, we never seen
a president with with again that that kind of focused
pace and intensity that we see from President Trump. I
(07:09):
do think it's interesting that you know, everyone on the
left is up in arms. Oh, they're they're making us
actually come back and work in person, and they're making
us tell us what we do at work. Imagine that
that's just that you can't do that well, I think
I think a lot of people in the private sector say, well,
that's kind of the point. We want you to show
up for work and we want to know what you're doing.
(07:30):
But oh, if you if if it's in if it's
a federal, federal you know, bureaucrat or federal employee, no
you can't. You can't ask those things, you can't do
those things. Uh So, I do think that's kind of
kind of been interesting, particularly this s those issues.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Kind of to your point too, Congressman, is you know
they you know, some of the agencies are telling workers.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Not to reply with what you did last week.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
And it's interesting too that part of what they were
getting at here is they just want to see you know,
most of these people are half of them r I
don't know what the number is.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
They're not even checking their.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Email, so they you know, they they sent this out
and maybe if they heard about it, it was because
of the news, it wasn't because they're it is. It
is so staggering to me to see the amount of
people who are pushing back against those and what they
are uncovering.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
And you know, look, I was talking to.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Some other congress people and I said, if even fifty
percent or or so of what is being uncovered is
one thousand percent accurate. It is staggering what we are
seeing now the you know, with the Iraqi Sesame Street
and all this dumb stuff that's going on. If just
part of this is it's it's the amount of money
(08:39):
they're they're uncovering as just waste and all of that.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
It's it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
And think about had they not started uncovering this stuff,
it all just sits there and continues to just rob
us of the American people.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yeah. Now, some of this, I do think over the
years has been talked about and there's been reference to
it UH citizens against government wastes of fine organization, but
never to the degree with again the intensity we are
seeing with the dose UH effort, and and there's never
been the media spotlight and focus on it like Elon
(09:15):
Musk and President Trump have provided it. So that's the difference.
And now all of a sudden it's in the news
every single day, and the left's reaction is instead of
stopping helping us stop the crazy spending, they're attacking the
guy who's exposing the crazy spending. Right now, Elon Musk
is all they can tell Elon Musk. It's it's truly. Uh.
You know, there's the Trump derangement syndrome that I think
(09:37):
is actually real for some people on the left. Now
it's the Musk derangement syndrome. Then it's like, oh, they
can't stop talking about it. So but I think, you know,
normal common sense, regular Americans are like, God, bless them,
keep it up.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I love his answer too.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
They're talking about he's getting into our personal and soff
he goes I own PayPal. If I wanted to do that,
I would have already taken all.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Of your person. It's just his comeback is just so good.
I mean, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
This guy is again he's playing chess, everyone's playing checkers.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
He's brilliant.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And and you know the other thing I keep preaching
about on the air too, Congressman, is I'm like Trump,
if whatever Elon is doing, Trump has signed off on it.
I promise you He's not doing anything without Trump's approval.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
It's just that simple. You know.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
I read this on I did a TV thingy see
on Sony TV, and I read this as the headline
is to watch the post story. National parks are in
chaos after Trump cuts first two sentences at California's National
Park is sim the National Park. The Trump administration fired
the only locksmith on staff on Friday. Next sentence, he
was the sole employee with keys and the institutional knowledge.
(10:46):
Think about this and the institutional knowledge needed to rescue
visitors from locked restrooms. So this is all? This is
so dang well, it seems to me the real question
to ask is why is there only one guy with
the key to the place? And how do how do
people get locked? How do visitors get locked in the restroom? Like, well,
this isn't the lead poographed in a Washington Post story
(11:09):
from February last week, February nineteenth, and this is the brief.
This is all. So this is how ridiculous that the
left has become, Like that's the best you've got is
somebody has to unlock people who get locked in restrooms
that national parks and he's been fired and no one
else has the key, Like this is how stupid it
all becomes.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Speaking of TV, how many times have they portrayed you
on SNL?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Now do you know? Are you? Has it been multiple times?
You're aware of it?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
I'm aware of it. Yeah, more than one and I
guess unfortunately, But I don't know any reason. Why. Is
there one I missed recently where they did something? I
don't know any but yeah, there have been a couple times.
Of course.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
It was one of those early Saturday night reruns. It
was made during the speaker debate when they were considering
you for speaker, and they yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I just I've just and to be honest, I wasn't
even aware that they had done this, but I was,
you know, Chuck sent me a clip of it the
other night when and I go, you know, that's a
badge of honor, quite frankly.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Because listen, if you know, if you're you congressman.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
The thing is when they do something like that, I mean,
let's face it, it's yeah, what they're doing is not flattering.
They're making fun of you and all of that. But
that's got to tell you, in your heart of hearts,
like I'm doing the right thing, because that's that's making
them crazy to where they.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Have to do that.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
And they alway, it's never accurate what theyre's you know,
the verbiage they use or their script or.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Any of that.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
But I don't know, not a lot of people can
say I've been made fun of on Saturday Night Live.
And by the way, that's not even It hasn't been
relevant or even funny for years.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Now, right, Yeah, I take you the first time. The
first time was several years ago, back when we had
Michael Cohen as a witness in front of the Oversight
Committee and the Democrats Party men. I was ranking member
at the time, and the uh, I'm doing a Sunday show,
and so I got up early because I like to
work out before any one of these Sunday shows. I'm
(13:05):
working out and I got seeing in or whatever when
I was going on. I was going on one of
the lefty shows and I'm watching it, and all of
a sudden, I see this clip from Saturday Night Live
and I look up and I go because I got
the volume down. I'm working out, and I look up
and I go like, I think that's supposed to be me.
And so I started laughing, and then of course I
(13:26):
get up working out. I talked to the staff and
they're like, yeah, yeah, we didn't want to tell you
so after you did the Sunday show, but yeah, they
were making fun of you.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm sure, and you know, gosh, man,
you've probably got of of everybody in Congress.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
You've got to have some of.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
The thickest skin that is even a you have to
be because you're not a snowflake man, you know.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Yeah, what's the old line. If the press isn't saying
something bad about you, you ain't doing anything any good.
So I guess that's you got to keep that in mind.
I try to.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
That's exactly right, Congressman. Glad that you made it be safe,
and glad that you're back and onward and upward and
the seven million things going on every day with this administration.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
I love it. I love it. Yeah, thanks guysa, thanks Congress.
I appreciate it. There he is Jim Jordan
