Speaker 1 (00:00):
Blazer show.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Wowow Zach, all right, you've got sunshine. It's not won't
got sunshine? Up, shut up to suport Blazer. Good afternoon,
Welcome to Friday, verdable potpourrie before est this afternoon. When
it comes to topics of discussion, and seriously, whatever's on
your mind too, why not? Why not let Zach practice

(00:31):
a little bit for tomorrow. Tomorrow's his big debut, his
big his big foray into the big chair in the
wonderful world of six ten WTV in. Zach will be
hosting Saturday Morning Open Phones tomorrow at six am. And uh,
have you been practicing at all?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
In my mind?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
In your mind? So you gotta go get some real
life practice. You'll get two kinds of people on Saturday
Morning open Phones. I speak from my past experience. You
get You'll get normal people, folks. You can have a
completely normal conversation with Sure, then the others okay out
Now for the others, I would recommend.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Maybe I maybe I I connect with the others more
than I.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Would I would recommend tonight before before just don't even
bother to go home tonight, go wait until the sun
goes down and the inebriation has begun, and go up
on North high Street. There's an area of North High
Street between Campus and the Short North. I don't it's
kind of a no man's land up there. I don't
know what you would call it, but there's lots of people.
You'll see him walking around with the googly eyes. Usually

(01:30):
they're looking upward toward the sky, many times having conversations
with someone that is not there. Go to those people, Zach,
Go to those people. I want you to just to
just go and just one thing, just say, hey, what
do you think? Oh my gosh, that's all you need. Okay,
that's all you need and you will get If you
can handle that for a couple of hours and then
come straight on in here, you'll be good.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Well, I appreciate the advice.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
I'm sure that sound advice that I'm definitely gonna take
you up on that.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
You mean what I think? What I think? What I think?
You seed him? You see him in this guy star
star You know what?

Speaker 5 (02:05):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You know what? That's the government government watching it. Elon
must put that up there. Watch the dog lights, dog lights,
they watch them as all. And seriously, if you get
go have a few conversations like that, you're ready for Saturday?

Speaker 5 (02:19):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I'm actually looking more forward to it now than I was.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Oh my, I just I. I hope you are excited.
I really are. Are you? Are you planning on sleeping tonight?
Are you just gonna stay awake? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:31):
No, I'll be fine.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I'll sleep a little. As long as I can get
a little bit, I'll be okay, Okay, not a big deal.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
It's I don't but the anticipation, the adrenaline flow of
that first time out. Man, Yeah, I know.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I've been thinking about it, but.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
I'm usually up pretty early anyway, the up and at
you know, people say up and at him.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
I'm usually up, but not really Adam.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
But yeah, you don't really have to be Adam in
this business.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
But I got to like actually get in the car
and drive here and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
I once, I once when I was in my career,
as I was flipping jobs, man, I would go anywhere.
It was a step up in some way. It didn't
even have to be in money, just a step up
in some way. I was looking to advance as quickly
as possible. And I quit, or yeah, I mean I quit.
But they actually accepted my two week notice, which I
did not think they were going to do, because so

(03:20):
many times you put in a notice and they pull
you off the air anyway, because they don't want you
to come in here on your last day and say
booger or something, so they pull you off. And I
got off the air. I got off the air at
the job that I was quitting at three am. It
was a late night request show thing, and got off
at three am, and at six am I was on

(03:42):
the air at the new gig. So that was a
nice sleep night, definitely. But I didn't need it. Man.
It was my first morning show, so I was so
hyped up. I didn't have to sleep whatever. Whatever, Who
needs sleep, man, I got coffee. That's all I needed.
Coffee and adrenaline, and it was. It was wonderful. So
if you, you know, if you said to me, I
don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight, I would understand.

(04:04):
I think that's cool.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
I mean, to be fair, I'm not an adult yet,
so you adults drink coffee.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I'm a child, so I still drink pop. But the
same thing.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
One of the beauties of this business, no matter how
serious the topics, you discuss. No matter how deep you
think your voice may sound on the radio, no matter
how many hairs fall from your head, You're always a
kid in your heart. That is one of the things
about this job, man, It really is it. Uh, it's uh.

(04:33):
There's something wonderfully playful about being able to sit in
front of a microphone and do this at old saying
if you love what you do, you'll never work a
day in your life. Yeah, yeah, I have. I have
yet to sit in this room and work. And that's uh,
that's a blessing. So yeah, I'm so I'm happy for you.
I'm proud of you. I've already got my alarm clock
set for tomorrow at five forty fives.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Now the pressure's on, why because they know I'm gonna
come in Monday and you're gonna be like, that was terrible.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I would never do that. I would never ever ever
do that to you.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I public persona is behind the scenes. You guys don't
know how he is.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I am mean. I am so mean.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
I am Oh my gosh, I lock myself in this
room when you come in.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
I don't blame you.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
No, it'll be fun. It'll be fun. I'm looking forward
to it.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
And here's you sent me some stories today. Zach is
always very good about sending possible storylines for the show
and the conversation. By the way, eight two one nine
eight eighty six is the number eight two one WTV. Yet,
as I said in the Facebook post that I put
up today, it's a frivolous Friday.

Speaker 6 (05:35):
Man.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
There's stuff that we don't get to that people feel like, Oh,
we really need to bring this up, we really need
to talk about. Well, this is your day. If you've
got something like that that we haven't been able to
get to. I will plow through calls today like a
like a like a transportation worker in Alaska. I will
be plowing through calls today just to get people in
there and give them that opportunity. This story that Zach

(05:56):
sent me earlier, it's one of these pph'll find on
High Street tonight. The skeletal remains. No good story starts
that way, does it. No?

Speaker 4 (06:07):
But as soon as I saw the headline, I'm like,
even if we don't use it, I have to send
it like I would have sent this to you on
Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
The skeletal remains discovered behind a closed bowling alley in Jay,
Maine last year had been identified the Main Office of
Medicine or Medical Zamor. Examining the or identified the remains
as fifty four year old Victor C. You want to
take a shout at the last name, Yeah, of of

(06:39):
more false. I'm sorry he's dead. He won't be even had.
The remains were initially found in October twenty twenty four
by Laurencia Bouget or Borget or Borges or something French,
a self identified psychic. Okay, here we go. This is
High Street right.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Here, self identified like somebody else identified her as.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
It A self identified psychic medium during a search related
to a nineteen eighty six disappearance of a seventeen year
old girl named Kimberly Moreau. Official say that the death
is not considered suspicious. He'd been reported missing in twenty
twenty The psychic medium, why is it ever? Like a

(07:21):
psychic large? This psychic medium had been working with Kimberly
Moreau's family. Warre was seventeen when she disappeared in Jay,
Maine back in nineteen eighty six, has never been found.
Borge claimed that she heard a voice, lots of voices
on High Street. She heard a voice mentioned the vacant

(07:41):
bowling alley and she said she knew it was significant Boorgie.
He says, she Hey, lady, vacant bowling Alley. Jay says
that she discovered the body after searching only a few minutes.
Remains did not belong to Morow. They were identified as

(08:04):
this fifty four year old man this week. So, yeah,
you know, it's not that I don't believe in things
that are not you know, obvious of this earth or whatever.
I think there's all kinds of all kinds of possibilities
in the universe, but no, don't believe that one. It's

(08:28):
thank you for sending it though, because I got a
chuckle first thing this morning. Yeah, I laughed the nil thing.
You knew who I was talking about because you were
familiar with the story, because you assumed that this would
be the person who would get in an IL deal.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
No.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
I watched basketball, so I know McNee State not very well,
but they're really good, and they were a bubble tournament
team and they won their conference.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
But you see they're that's not the right word. He's
not a mask.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
There's not really a mascot. He's like a hype man.
There we go.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Yeah, yeah, and he came out and that I saw
these clips of him coming out with this like big
radio or whatever, and then I had to look him
up to see who he was.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, the boom box up on his shore and wrapping
U rapping songs or whatever. As the team was entering
for the the NCAA tournament. And this kid, this, this
hype man, A mere Cohn of McNeice is at university
or college tickets university, A mere Cohn of McNeice University.

(09:33):
They call him the team manager. That's his actual title.
He got an NIL deal, a name, image likeness deal.
Well you just give him to everybody then. I mean,
they did this and I don't know if there's gonna
because I have no idea what the language is behind
the NIL agreements. But they did this as a way

(09:58):
of financially compensation players. And it's smoking mirrors is all
it is. The university cannot pay. Let's say, you know,
the Ohio State Buckeyes decided they wanted Zach to be
their quarterback. They could not pay Zach to be their quarterback,
but they could arrange and facilitate money to Zach through

(10:21):
various boosters, sponsors and so forth. So they'll talk to,
you know, the car dealership and go, hey, can we
get a deal what you do And the car dealership say, yeah,
we'll step up. We'll do you know, we'll fill a
million dollars at the kid to do our television commercials
something like that. So the kids getting compensated. Again. More
smoking mirrors. People in power over how you spend your money.

(10:44):
Always bothered me. They do that all the time. They've
done it with the real estate stuff too, and it
bugs me. We used to have down payment assistants, but
then they said, well, no, you can't have that anymore.
Because the reason we had down payment assistance it was
illegal for a seller of a property to give the
buyer money to say, hey, you know what, I'll help
you out with that. I'll pay your closing cost or
I'll pay your down payment for you, and that was illegal,

(11:05):
so they could come up with all these little shadow
things in the middle. So the seller would then give
money to like a Marria dreamer, Nea Maya, and then
a marriage dreamer Nea Mayah would then give that money
to the buyer and charge the seller five hundred bucks
for the privilege of using them to move that money around.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
But why is that illegal? I don't know. It's a
genuine question.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
As long you know what, I don't think any things
should be illegal, as long as it's disclosed. That's how
I feel. It's not the law, but it's how I feel.
But if it's written down, everybody agrees to it, understands it,
signs off on it, I don't have a problem with it.
But that's what they've done within IL. So these young
people come in to play the games, and they're sponsored essentially,

(11:46):
and the more sponsors they get, the more money they get,
and the more valuable they are to the team, the
more sponsors the team is going to make sure they get.
So the team is basically the college is basically the
middleman in this scenario. I don't know who does anybody
recruit a team manager? No, isn't that just a kid?

Speaker 3 (12:08):
That's an organic thing. He must have just been out
there and social media picked it up or whatever.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
So if this is what I'm worried about, if the
NIL rules are written so that they pertain to players,
because that's the whole reason we have this. If it
says universities can facilitate this money for players. I'm worried
that this kid may be maybe may be sad at

(12:34):
the end of the day. I hope they find a
way to do this. And it doesn't really even say
what the agreement is, how much he's going to make,
or who's sponsoring or whatever. So I have no idea
what the dollar figure is associated with this nil deal.
But I'm I'm worried on his behalf. I don't know
who he is. I don't watch basketball, I don't care

(12:55):
about the NCAA tournament, doesn't matter. I just know that
this kid did something completely off the wall, out of
the ordinary. It's pretty awesome that as a team manager
slash hype man, he managed to get something like this
thrown his way. And I just don't want to see
him pull the carpet out from under him. So we'll

(13:15):
keep an eye on it, hopefully if there's any language
problems in the way, because they're very strict on these rules,
if there are any language problems in the way it's written,
they will get that corrected so that whatever it is
he was promised he will get I just thought it
was a pretty cool story.

Speaker 7 (13:33):
And The Mark Blazer Show on sixty.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Three thirty nine I'm chunked out of the same for
Blazer this afternoon. Welcome to Friday. Get through the rest
of this one. In the weekends dead ahead. It's not
going to be much of a weekend. I'm just I'm
it's not going to be gorgeous, but it's not going
to be winter, so be happy also, I want Zach
and I talked. Was it yesterday we were talking about
the fact all these the older groups that we wanted
to we'd love to see together. Maybe it was maybe,

(13:58):
I don't know, a few days ago, but I was
just looking through some of the concerts coming to Central Ohio. Here, Herman's,
Hermit's and Peter Noon is still with them the grassroots apparently,
I guess, are the opening act here doing the Midland
Theater thing out there in Newark that that's a hoppin' venue.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Hermit hurt. My mom likes that. But I don't even
what was their big song?

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Oh all kid? I mean, okay, look, something tells me
all a men do something good. And the whole band,
God bless them, they're ugly there are there, They're well
they got that tip. It's a typical British thing. I
don't know why but so many people in Great Britain
they've got like size seven miles and size twelve teeth.
I don't know why that is. It's just a physical

(14:42):
characteristic of a lot of folks there. And and Peter
noon Is is not one to have eluded that affliction.
So but hey, he's still out there kicking at Midland
Theater and it's so what is that? April eleven? Yeah,
April eleventh, you u should take me to Newark for
my birthday.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
I'm not doing any of that, thanks whatsoever. Thanks, thanks
so much taking you on a mandate. We're done, man,
We're done. We're breaking up right here, right now. You're
not fixing my tractors anymore. ABC six first warding weather
Chief meteorologist Marshall McPeek standing by with a grin on
his face.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Right now, Hello, Marshall, you will take the massage though,
I will as well. I mean he already paid for that.
I mean, never mind the tractors, but actually a massage
with a tractor some days would feel kind of good
thing right over my back. That's right, that big old
John Dearly, big old yeller, and print some my back
and it feel good. I design Blazer. I talked about that,

(15:42):
and he's like, oh, no, it's it's it's great. The
thing of it is we just He says that he
has had massages from women's hands that he thought were
I feel like I need some big, burly, bald, mister
clean looking, been to prison for something at least once
in his life type of guy to just beat the
crap out of my back and legs. And I can't

(16:03):
see a small, small set of hands being able to
do much with with you know, my big carcass. It
just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I don't know how to respond to any of that.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
I'm just saying, man, that's your hands. Zach ain't that big, thankfully,
and he ain't touching me. No, hell, I know we're
the hands of men.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Let's talk about the forecast, shall we.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Lease do that? Is there anything involving eighty degrees? Uh? No, yes,
s uh it's really so.

Speaker 7 (16:38):
There is a chance for a few showers overnight tonight
into early Saturday morning, but most of your Saturday is
going to be dry. I think a lot of this
rain is going to be finished by eight or ten
in the morning. The afternoon we see some sunshine break
through the clouds and we get to fifty degrees. Sunday,
the rain comes back around midday or so and lasts
during the afternoon with the high year fifty three. And

(17:00):
then Monday we're dry again with a hinh near fifty
four and some very gusty wins.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
It's at least very pretty right now, Marshall, I'll give
you that and fifty two with your severe weather station

Named bob and Then dick From, dayton and they pretty
much just call, in talk about the buck guys and

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Uh and then, uh let's, see you've got some other
very right wing people have been calling, in uh on

DID i hear you say a few weeks ago That
zach is a? Liberal or where you?

Speaker 8 (19:24):
Joke you?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Know oh my, gosh IF i said, THAT i. WAS
i was definitely. Joking yeah he's he's, okay.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
Okay, okay because YEAH i. Was THAT'S i was. Worried
if he is a flaming, liberal then, uh he's gonna
have some serious arguments with the the regular. Callers but if,
not then you, know THAT'S i THINK i think HE'LL
i think he'll be.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
Fine uh, well don't him. Tomorrow be nice to.

some of these names you're throwing at me, tonight Because
i've had to deal with them in the past two.
FEET i appreciate, you, Buddy thank you very.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Much i'm SURE i could handle.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
It, yeah He's. Uh here's the, Thing and let me
tell you another story about her in her as politics
here several years ago WHEN i was, here was it
my last? TOUR i think it was the last tour
BEFORE i got cut. Loose BUT i was doing weekends
AND i ended up doing a weekend show because at that,

(21:16):
time like two hours before, Showtime dirt called in sick
and the program director called me up BECAUSE i was
a traffic, guy and he knew how BADLY i had
wanted to be on this. STATION i mean SINCE i
was a, kid this is WHAT i had aspired to.
Be and so he called me. Up he, GOES i
know this is no, notice but if you want to

(21:38):
be on the air, TODAY i got opening at three
o'clock and it worked very, well AND i THINK i
surprised our program director at the. Time and next THING
i KNEW i WAS i had a regular show on the,
weekends The Sunday. Extravaganza now on THAT i did much
like WHAT i do on The Power, hour except it

(21:59):
was you, know three hours. Long BUT i would have
in local, people politicians and so. Forth AND i had
who was in? Here Paula Brooks, Democrat Franklin County commissioner
got along. Famously had no problems With, paula and in,
fact she bought. Me the next week she brought me some,
baklavah or she might have brought it with her that,
day made her own baklavah and just brought it in

(22:23):
as a little president to say. Hello it was. Wonderful
AND i had Had Mike mentel on a couple of.
Times he was president at that time Of Columbus city
council and, again no problems got along. Beautifully well then
somebody who's dead, Now So i'm not going to speak
ill of, them but they should be spoken ill of. It.

(22:45):
Sometimes they were a former media person who had become
the watchdog For Columbus City council and other city. Offices
AND i had Emailed President mental at the time because
we were beginning that talk about red light cameras in the.
City AND i emailed Mister mantell, said, hey CAN i

(23:09):
get you in here, again because obviously this is a
hot button issue for, people AND i know a lot
of people want to talk about. It, well my email
To President mental was intercepted by this, guy the new,
watchdog and he calls me back and, says you, Know,
Chuck i'm going to have to recommend That President mental

(23:31):
not come on the. Show i'm, like why, Not, well
just because of the treatment that the city council. Receives
AND i, said, wait hang on a. Second he's been
in here with me. Twice Paula brooks has been in,
Here Michael stinziano's been in. Here i'm not a, nasty vengeful.
Person i'm not an ambush. Guy i'm not a gotcha,

(23:52):
guy that's not the WAY i. Roll we've got no.
Problem it's a legitimate. Conversation i'm trying to bring a
local elected official to the airwaves to address a local
issue and be talked to by a local radio host
and their local. Audience what is your issue with? Me he, goes,
well it's really not. You it's it's On saturday. Morning i'm, like,

(24:14):
dude what are you talking About saturday? Morning open? Phones? Yeah,
yeah those people just call up and bash bash the
city and the mayor and the city. Council i'm, like,
dude it's open, phone, right that's the point liberals can
call to you can call. It it's anybody can.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
Call my interpretation of open phones means open phone that
anybody can.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Call that's what it's there.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
FOR i DON'T i didn't get, it AND i was very,
angry AND i, says this your final word? Here he, says,
YES i just can't recommend that he come. On, so
so you're going to keep him from my audience on
my show because of what you heard On saturday. Morning open.
Phones don't ever call me for. Anything if the city
needs desperately to get the word about something on this

(24:59):
sh and don't call me to do. IT i have
been decent to everyone that has walked in that studio.
Door and if you are going to take my audience
hostage essentially and not allow them access to their elected
officials because of what people say On saturday morning open,

(25:21):
phones you're really too stupid to have my phone number.
Anymore and he was dead shortly after, that SO i
got the got the guilt of having been nasty to
somebody and then they pass away shortly thereat, yeah you're
doing that to. Yourself, well, yeah that's HOW i. Am
that's HOW i. Am but he was he was absolutely
wrong for doing. That i'm absolutely a, conservative absolutely love

(25:45):
this country in this, constitution AND i absolutely back conservative
principles and. Values But i'm also not a nasty mean you,
Know it's just that's that's not my style And i've
never shown myself to be that kind of person to.
Anybody and it really infuriated me that this, guy this
guy did. That i'm gonna have to recommend you not

(26:08):
come on your. Show, yeah well there are THINGS i
can't say over the airways That i'd like to have
said to. Him that, day first hour went, by just
LIKE i was just like a. Minute i'm just, well
maybe two minutes.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Already now number two The blazers. Show hey down, THERE
i jumped. Up use you know who you, are don't?
You i'm assuming you. Do if you, don't then you've
got bigger. Problems in mosten name of the radio openfixed where.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
A two on nine eight eighty six is my number
eight two ONE. Wtv and this this this my. Hometown,
Columbus ohio used to be long time go back when
The calders cow town used to be a pretty conservative.
Place it, WAS i mean The Columbus, dispatch the Wool
family conservative. Newspaper they Owned channel, ten they owned a

(26:56):
couple of radio. Stations it was a pretty conservative. Town,
well things. Change people come here from other places and
begin to influence. Things AND i, think you, know that's
not always. Bad but sometimes some, days some, INSTANCES i

(27:18):
feel almost crowded out of my own hometown by all
of the outside. Influence this weekend In, columbus there are
a couple of things going, on AND i posted one
of them to My facebook. Page by the, way if

(27:39):
you're On, facebook just look For Chuck, douglas a large
melon head wearing a blue suit that's. Me you can
be my. Friend there's a there's also a radio show
fan page THAT i don't really use too. Much i'm
On twitter as, thought is It CHUCK D. TALKER i
think At CHUCK D, TALKER i just just look. AROUND
i need to put all that. Stuff i've got so

(27:59):
many social media. ACCOUNTS i pay attention, to like two,
things but always happy to interact with you when we're
not on the. Air so this, guy AS i told
you the story, about you, know Having democrats in the
studio and being kind and being, considered being, understanding being
conversive and so. Forth this he's one of. Them not

(28:20):
an elected, official more of a what do you call
community organizer. Type and we agree on many. Things we
just don't necessarily agree on our routes to how to
fix those many. Things for, example the council, system the
electoral system here In, columbus for A columbus city, council it's,

(28:42):
bogus it's. Ridiculous they keep throwing keep throwing bones to.
People and they've been doing that for thirty. Years years
ago when people, said you, know we need to increase
the size of the city. Council the cities grow and
we had a seven member sold five thousand years. Ago
we still guys that we need, more and so, instead

(29:04):
what the city did was create these area, commissions which
were supposed to be kind of a liaison body between
the residents of the city and The Columbus City. Council
trouble is they're, toothless they're. Powerless they're volunteers who are
trying to do, something but at the end of the,
day they got. Nothing they can make all the recommendations they,

(29:26):
want but council is still going to do what council
wants to. Do the mayor is still going to tell
council what he wants them to. Do THE bza off
is still going to prove what they want to appre
they got, nothing but that was an appeasement for. People sit,
down shut, up, here have an area. Commission then again
a few years ago the issue. Reared it, said, look

(29:46):
we need more representation On Columbus City. Council seven. People
cities grown and growing and grown and. Grown we're too
diverse now to have these seven. People so what they
do they, Said, okay we'll increase to. Nine here's the,
thing it's two more seats that are still not serving

(30:07):
any given area of the city they are serving at,
large which IS i think a problem when it comes
to a representative form of. Government you need people fighting
for your. Area for way too many, years The south
side Of columbus got dumped. On if it smelled nasty

(30:28):
or was toxic or glowed in the, dark you put
it on the south side Of. Columbus my beloved westside
can't get a. Break all the dollars seem to go
To londen right now because that's the love child for
The city Of. Columbus and what's that. Accomplishing you still
got crime on the, street people getting, shot scared to come.

(30:49):
Outside years now of throwing money At linden while other
neighborhoods have had very. Little city Of columbus spends money
on the oddest. Things they talk about. Housing have you
looked around at the number of houses with those orange
stickers on the front that are held by The Columbus

(31:12):
City Land. Bank let's get them back in, Play let's
get families back in. There let's make neighbors and neighborhoods,
again instead of holding on to, them boarding them, up
putting a sticker on the front that says please come
steal the copper if there's any. Left but you don't
have anybody advocating for your part of, town your, community your,

(31:33):
neighborhoods everyone serves at. Large this latest member Of Columbus City,
council you, know another handpicked person from their little interior.
Group nobody even flinched when they brought up the Fat
how much did she? Have was it three, thousand four
thousand dollars in unpaid traffic? Tickets driving around on a suspended? License,

(31:58):
yes driving around with expired tags in the whole damn
time working at the city attorney's, office and nobody had
a problem with. It they even questioned whether she was living.
Here THAT'S i guess they're still snooping around trying to
investigate that that she might have actually been A reynoldsburg
citizen and and shouldn't have been allowed to even be

(32:21):
considered for the city council. Seats so they're still sniffing,
that but they just they go past. That who we,
elect what's the the? Auditor or who do we elect
somebody handles? Money was it the was it county auditor
a couple of years, ago who you know had some
questionable uh? Finances of their own and the bankruptcies and and,

(32:43):
all just it doesn't matter because the power structure downtown
says this is our, person and so people, say, okay,
yeah we'll vote, yes and there they. Are So i've
got a big problem with the way they do. Things
so do me and this and, this this man AND
i That i'm looking at On, Facebook he AND i
agree on that current, system his post, reads is designed

(33:05):
to ensure that only candidate's handpicked by The Franklin County
Democratic party and its donors are elected to city, council
and it's therefore a major barrier to socialist winning elected.
Office socialists winning elected. Office, yeah this is his post
about The Democratic socialist meeting The Democratic socialist Of america

(33:31):
meeting here In columbus On. Sunday that's where we, differ you,
see BECAUSE i CAN'T i cannot SAY i agree with
you on the concept of a representative, republic whether it's
at the national level or at my own level here
in the city Of, columbus a representative. GOVERNMENT i can't

(33:52):
agree with you on that and also agree with you
that the way to be a representative government is to
nullify what we are all about as a. Country we're
not a socialist, country AND i don't think anybody's. UH

(34:13):
i don't think anybody's going to look at us ten
years from now and, say you, know we should have
Been we should have just converted to. Socialism freedom is
a wonderful thing AND i we part. Ways there another

(34:33):
post from this guy about something going On saturday At
Eastern Tesla. Dealership will be there fighting fascism and Fighting
american oligarchy by accelerting or accelerating The tesla stock crash
and Removing elon from his throne as the richest person

(34:53):
in the. World you know, what? Morons what's his? Face
Vice PRESIDENTIAL ca Eight tim Wood, Walls, yeah he. SAW
i love to watch The tesla stock go. Down it's
two forty FOUR i think it was in the quote and.
Falling he's too stupid to realize his own state. Government

(35:15):
he's the governor Of. Minnesota his own state government is
invested In tesla to the tune of four hundred million
taxpayer dollars in the state pension. Account four hundred million.
Dollars he is wishing on the people in the state
Of minnesota a four hundred million dollar, Loss and you

(35:38):
know what go, ahead Tank tesla. STOCK i will go.
OUT i will sell doghouses IF i have to sell dog,
houses any kind of thing to make enough money to
buy that tanked, stock because it will come. Back tesla's
been almost five hundred DOLLARS i think FOR i think
for eighty four something like that has been its high
point WHEN i. Checked in, Fact Zach market's closed. Now

(36:00):
if you want to check and see What tesla closed,
at it was like two forty eight this. Afternoon But
i'd love to know if it bounced back any from
that or. Not but you want to drive it, down
drive it down to fifty bucks a, Share that's, fine
BECAUSE i will buy Every tesla STOCK i can possibly
buy every SHARE i can cram into a portfolio because
it will be. Back in case you haven't, noticed the

(36:22):
guy's a winner and you are. Hypocrites forty eight closed
to two forty eight, Today, okay SO i mean half
of what it had. Been this guy is a. Winner
in the, meantime you've got people who loved him and
hailed him as a great savior and agreed economy guru

(36:42):
and a climate change wander, down and now they hate
him one so. Much one congressman so much that the
idiot sold off His tesla out of protest and went
out and bought two fossil fuel burning. SUVs so the
climate is so, important if climate change is so, important if,

(37:03):
green green green is so, important what are you saying
by going out and buying your gas guzzling SUVs and
getting rid of your electric? Tesla? Idiot And i'm used
to sitting here and looking around the country and saying
stuff like. That seeing stuff like that in my, hometown
it feels very. Odd tesla protests socialist. Gatherings one of

(37:32):
the comments on his post about the tesla, protests by the,
way it comes from somebody. ELSE i Think i've got
a few pictures of she AND i. Together she actually
ran for office here in the city Of. COLUMBUS i
don't believe she lives here. ANYMORE i think she moved.
Away but she ran for office as A, republican believe

(37:53):
it or, NOT i. Know and she kind of hooked
up with this, guy became friends with, guy AND i
remember even saying back, then, yeah that's a. Mistake that's a,
mistake because he's going to take her the wrong. Direction
but her comment on his tesla protest post was those
Violent january sixth insurrectionists should have never been pardoned and.

(38:18):
Released now they're Attacking tesla. Cars what's next going into
schools and shooting. Kids oh, wait that's already. Happening how
they hell do The january sixth people have anything to
do with Your tesla. Protest that's two different summer camps,
there my. Dear when you're too stupid to even know

(38:41):
who your friends and your enemies, are you probably shouldn't
be posting. Things and it makes me sad BECAUSE i
liked her as she was a young up and, comer
and AS i, say she was running for office as
A republican and we were up at The board Of.
Elections took a couple of pictures, together and it breaks my.
Heart but AS i mentioned, earlier social media has allowed

(39:03):
us to watch people actually in real time lose their.
Minds or maybe that's just.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Men Weather sports and The Mark Blazer show on six
TENTH wtv.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Four thirty seven chems down the Same Fort glazier six
TEN wtv and the number eight two one nine eight eighty.
Six of course that's in the sixty one four AREA
a two ONE wtv and or eight hundred six TEN
wtv and a couple of QUICK tv notes here for
you because they're both my. Favorites one of which THE
ncis franchise l coolj Is Sam, hannah who was ON
la then they moved him To. Hawaii he will appear

(39:39):
on the eighteenth Of april on the original INN, cis
SO i think that's kind of a test flight to
see how he is received. THERE i think he liked
playing The Sam hannah. Character and you, know if you're
AN ncis, Fan april, Eighteenth Sam hannah shall be on n.
CIOs also there will be they have confirmed there will
be A Tulsa king and. Three thank goodness for. That

(40:03):
forget all the big screen. Stuff this is the best
Work stallone has ever. Done Tassa king is. Awesome that
streams On paramount and they are beginning the filming for
season three In atlanta And, Tulsa oklahoma as we. Speak
it's four thirty eight OR abc six For. Sporting whether
It's Chief Meteorologist marshall McPeek with a smile on his

(40:24):
face because the sun is in his. Eyes And i've been, Wondering,
marshall how slippery because it looks very. Slippery how slippery
is that weather floor where you do your forecast and
the green screen. Stuff it's just very.

Speaker 7 (40:36):
Shiny it's thankfully not very, slippery BECAUSE i Would i'd
be on my backside in no.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
Time i'd been waiting for you to break into a
moonwalk because it looks like it's conducive to that kind of.

Speaker 7 (40:46):
Thing so they keep it really polished and it's very,
shiny but it's it's as far AS i, know it's perfectly,
safe SO i think we're. Good but, yeah the green
wall actually has a curve to it and comes down
onto the, floor so you don't see it very. Often
But i'm actually standing on some of the green.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Wall, yeah and there's a camera angle reason or something for.
THAT i remember hearing at some, point BUT i can't
remember what it. Is but the curve makes it easier
to project or. WHATEVER i don't know. It, well it's
kind of like.

Speaker 7 (41:20):
It you, know you've probably seen one of those seamless
backdrops right where they Shoot amazon products and that sort of,
Thing so it doesn't look like there's a seam in the,
back and it's like, that so we can actually make
the graphics actually go all the way down to the,
floor so it looks like you're standing on the.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
Graphic that's very. COOL i like the one they had
that was coming up out of the. FLOOR i don't
know if you're still using that or. Not we.

Speaker 7 (41:43):
Do we call those augmented, reality and, yeah it's it's very,
cool and we're we're looking for ways to incorporate it
into other ways to explain and just other ways to
use it to present what's going.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
On so it's a.

Speaker 7 (41:59):
Fun it's a fun tool to use to be able
to sort of explain things in THREE.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
D so it's. Fun it is very, Right, well you
have to kind of learn how to deal with. It
if you can get some aug minuted higher temperatures into
the extended forecast next time we, TALK i will be
very very. Happy But i'll take what you got for.

Speaker 7 (42:14):
Now i've got some rain coming for you. Tonight it's
gonna be a hit or miss forty two for the overnight.
Low there's a cold front coming in so along that
we're gonna get some of these just random showers and
those will finish up Early saturday. MORNING i think you're
gonna get some Sunshine saturday afternoon and a high near fifty.
Degrees we're just barely below. Average. Sunday if you've got

(42:35):
stuff to, do do it earlier rather than, later because
we should still be dry for a few hours in
the morning before the rain comes back in the.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Afternoon it's gonna be.

Speaker 7 (42:44):
Windy wind gusts On sunday twenty five thirty miles an
hour and a high near fifty three And monday still
windy but, dryer high near fifty.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Four all, right let's keep that water in the. Ground
it makes all the grass and flowers and crops grow
well this. Spring that's what we. Want we are fifty
three right, Now severe weather Station News radio six y TEN,
Wtv AND i told you one to plow for some calls, today,
right ragged up the plows that because here we. Go
longest don't hold Is?

Speaker 8 (43:10):
Bob?

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Bob how are? You you're on six ten DOBLE EUTV A.

Speaker 5 (43:15):
All, Right.

Speaker 6 (43:16):
CHUCK i called with one topic and by the TIME
i get to talk to you probably have ten other.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Ones that's HOW i. Am. Man i'm annoying that. Way i'm.
Sorry i'm used to.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
It and that's. Okay when you're going to get your own,
show you, know not a power, hour but maybe lack
a power three.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Hours from your lips To god's, ears.

Speaker 6 (43:38):
Buddy, okay, well well maybe he was listening. That but
WHAT i was called to tell, You i'll tell you
about WAS i was On facebook. MARKETPLACE i saw guitar.
LIKE i drove out to this guy's. House he lived
in a new build Down South bloomfield and he was
From california and and he's, like what'd you move here?

(44:01):
For and he, goes what, HECK i sold my house
here AND i came here AND i paid cash for
my house and still had a bag of cash left. Over,
so you, know and people are doing. That they're getting
away from the, laws they're getting away from the high.
Taxes they're coming here get basically the same job as
they left.

Speaker 8 (44:20):
Out and you, know those.

Speaker 6 (44:21):
Places because of the tech, industry and if you look
at the makeup Of, columbus it's recently transplanted people like,
that people that don't really speak a lot Of, english
and people that don't you, know make noise with the
government because they're. Here they're happy and they like the
way things are.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Going, yep you nailed. It in, FACT i saw A
wsyx had a story on their web page about the
population growth In columbus being you, know one of the
fastest growing and they put it due to. Immigration they, didn't,
however use the word. Illegal AND i think that's going
to come into. Play that's going to bite us on the,
tush and that's going to be the decline of a
lot of our economic. Successes is when when those people

(45:05):
who are here are no longer, here our population isn't as,
large the market isn't as, large the advertising goes. Down
the company, said, oh it's not as big as we,
thought maybe we should Try cleveland to sell our. Product
that it's all going to come back and get.

Speaker 6 (45:19):
Us, WELL i go to the flea market and it's
a pretty big melting, pot And i'm noticing that melting
pot is getting a tad bit smaller than it was last.
Year maybe some of these policies are. Working AND i
just wanted to also say that we tried the best
we could to get those city council representatives to be

(45:44):
representing our districts and need to give them some responsibility.
Geographically and what happened was The democrats came out in
force and just pretty much lied about you know how
bad it would be, yep well.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Are they mobilized very?

Speaker 6 (45:58):
Well down the defeat the.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Easiest here's the easiest, Way, Bob i've been seeing this.
Fear here's the easiest. Way you want area, representation here's
the easiest way you already. HAVE i believe it's sixteen
areas in the city Of columbus that you confounded on the,
map so you could justify these area. Commissions that's a
great place to. START a representative from each of those
sixteen areas to comprise your city. Council, boom you're.

Speaker 6 (46:22):
Done democrats don't want, it of, course want to stay
behind closed.

Speaker 5 (46:27):
Doors you know how hard it is.

Speaker 6 (46:28):
To get into a city council meeting anymore and you can't.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
Talk it's, yeah it's.

Speaker 6 (46:34):
Ridiculous they want obscurity and they want they don't want any,
transparency that's for.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
SURE i appreciate, You, Bob thanks very. Much our current,
mayor you, know it's ridiculous trying to get a hold
of him for. Anything you remember ate to one buck
When Buck grindhert was the, mayor the buck line, man
you had a. Problem you call buck la a two
to one buck and it was like a badge of
honor that you could call that. NUMBERS i need them
here to know. Something and, uh he would. Check he

(47:04):
would check, constantly you've got any? Calls what's going? On
he was very proud of. That now it's. You you
can't and doesn't. Matter political, affiliation seriously doesn't even. Matter
it's hard getting anybody elected accountable to you to be responsive.
Anymore and that's. Sad that's not the way it's supposed to.
Be h Y w T v And, drew you are

(47:24):
on The Legacy Retirement group dot com phone, lines.

Speaker 9 (47:28):
Solid solid work again, today, sir thank.

Speaker 10 (47:31):
YOU i try to Say, blazer he better hurry up
and get. Back he's gonna get a little.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
Nervous, yeah he'll probably be, back probably back On. MONDAY
i think he's just having his tonails trimmed or something.
Today you probably In.

Speaker 9 (47:45):
Vegas so, ANYWAY i have two quick things for. You
first of, All dana Buck, reinhardt look at you just
like the previous. Call you have a way of having
two things in my head and then coming up with. Six,
ANYWAY i, actually WHEN i was a fifth, grader really
quick got to speak to him because he used to

(48:06):
answer the phones on a semi regular basis to that.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Une yes he. Did, yeah he would get on.

Speaker 9 (48:14):
There AND i WISH i would have written down my
question BECAUSE i don't remember. It but, anyway two things for,
you really quick.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Learned i've.

Speaker 9 (48:21):
LEARNED i learned early in my life that if someone
is screaming and yelling really loud in an, argument he
or she is probably the most unintelligent person in the
argument of the. Time of the time on the wrong
side volumes.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
A lack of, information a lack of knowledge or guilt
as far As i'm.

Speaker 9 (48:44):
Concerned oh my, gosh that's that's the ultimately lack of.
Intelligence but ultimately that's what's happening. Here the loudest of
the very few are tired of not being catered, to
so they have to figure out another way to get there,
whatever all Over instagram and TikTok And, facebook just so

(49:05):
they get. Noticed it's all about getting. Noticed that's why
they wear all different. Colors it's color hairs.

Speaker 1 (49:13):
Exactly.

Speaker 9 (49:13):
Exactly so IT'S i don't think it's going to stop
anytime soon because the tactics that they've used for the
last six, years he ten years for this man are
no longer are no longer. Working, obviously seventy five million
people were tired of hearing. It and this all really
ties back to because they're having a lot of, pushback
and so is the federal courts on This department Of.

(49:35):
Education does anybody think there may be a link between
understanding what that does and.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
What it's doing well.

Speaker 6 (49:50):
Is?

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Working The department Of education doesn't have anything to do with.
Education that's the first. Problem it's a.

Speaker 10 (49:55):
Misno but you're exactly and this is a that's A
this is a perfect case of the federal government has
no business in the education of me and of my.

Speaker 9 (50:07):
Children also because they can't do. It they can't even
they can't even run any program. Decently, obviously that's what
still just finding.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Out founded in nineteen seventy, nine we have done nothing
but go down, academically academically in competition against the rest
of the world since The partner Of education was.

Speaker 10 (50:26):
Founded, yeah and it's just it's dumbfounding that people don't
want to save.

Speaker 9 (50:32):
MONEY i. Don't i'm ABOUT i need to throw SOME
i need to throw some good will plates against the
window and so it breaks AND i feel.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Better you know What i'm with, You Drew i'm with,
you AND i got to run. Here But i'll tell
you what. THIS i was making this point in conversation
with somebody the other. Day this is about so what
if what if all the political, honeypots secret, accounts hidden, expenditures.
Kickbacks what If elon must and his people go in
there and find so many of them that your taxes go,

(51:05):
down your government fees go down because of all of the,
misspending misappropriation and lies that you have accepted as your reality.
Disappear are you still gonna hate?

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Him?

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Seriously if? You if you if you want to sell Your,
tesla sell. It if you want to give one, AWAY
i will take. IT i don't care what. Model will
you bring me Your tesla if you want to give it,
away don't want Your tesla, stock give it to. ME
i will take it because dude is a, winner and
it will be. Back and, uh you know WHEN i
When i've got twenty trillion dollars because you gave me

(51:46):
Your tesla, STOCK i will buy you lunch a TWO
doubletv and let's Get john in before the. Break you're
on six ten DOUBLE etv And.

Speaker 8 (51:51):
John, Hey, chuck just wanting to call. In tell You
i'm From, Grove, tucky and, UH i hate to see
the way that the West side is being. Abused there's
plenty of places to build nice things, there like the
Old Westland. MALL i don't understand why they're not doing,

(52:13):
it And i'm tired of Hearing. Lynman won't you just
Say Cleveland. AVENUE i don't, understand but people are moving To.
Delaware the reasons they're moving To delaware is because we
are ignoing the West. Side the West side has some

(52:35):
great stuff to.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
Offer, well many years, ago Before Westland mall became a
pile of, RUBBLE i actually talked at that point To
Mayor coleman and a couple of members of city council
about a development IDEA i had and it was you

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
