Speaker 1 (00:00):
Always enjoyable. We're cleaning out the sound fridge. It's one
more thing, one thing, so much audio.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
We didn't get to a lot of good stuff today.
It's too much. Party happened?

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Do you wanna Yeah, we're gonna hang on to the
Bill Maher thing for tomorrow for the show, or you
want to do it here?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
You do both. Really, let's start with Bill maherin Ana
Kasparian and she was coming off as.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
A woke millennial type.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, let's run it and then we'll comment after where
would you live? What city would you live in? You'd
be comfortable in that dress?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I'm sure it would not be comfortable in this dress
in any of the various Middle Eastern countries that have
been destabilized.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
You're not really blaming it on whitey.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Listen, are you?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You're blaming Islam on whitey.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I'm not blaming Islam on whitey.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
What you're saying you stable, That's why you can't wear
it did not stabilized.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
We are terrorist organizations in Syria during the Syrian Civil War.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
So yeah, she's trying to claim that the bigotry of
the Muslim world is to be blamed on white people.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Essentially on the Western world. It's our fault. Who is she?
Does anybody know? She is on the podcast what's the
name of the podcast, One of Your Hearts, Young Turks? Yeah,
very very popular progressive podcast. Oh my god, God, Bill,
and she is, you know, talking about Islamophobia and it's

(01:35):
all it's overblown and that sort of stuff. And Bill
Maher's question was, name a city in a Muslim country
where you could dress the way you're dressed right now,
She's sitting there in his chair in his basement in
a short skirt and high.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Heels, and then she says, well, we destabilize them, right,
So because.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
We overthrew the shaw, that that reflexive self hatred as
a mark of inlightenment on the left is amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
We didn't overthrow the shaw. We installed the shaw. We
installed the shaw, and you could wear short skirts at the.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Time, right right, So free the knee, That's what I say.
Let's see here's a let's run number nine. It's a
millennial therapist.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
I'm going to play the part of the boomer parent. Well,
Graham's been on life support for the last week and
it's not looking good. So we wanted to wait until
we knew for sure that it wasn't looking good til
we called, hey, we're back now. I understand protecting your
children from information that may not be developmentally appropriate when
it comes to illness with family members, but these are
adult children now. The lack of communication regarding important family

(02:42):
health events has not only increased their anxiety now because
they don't trust that you'll tell them, but it's resulted
in a fracture in your relationship or a breach of trust.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I'm not sure what problem she's addressing. Is there some
sort of rash of people not being honest about health stuff?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yeah, it's boomers.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
And I've experienced this in with my mom and dad,
and they, uh, they would hide things about their health
and then I would find out later that things were
much worse than they had said.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Heide is a prejudicial term. You know, it's your situation
and you can call it whatever you want. But a
person may just choose to not burden their kids with
their health problems.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (03:20):
I've gone through this though, and it's frustrating.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Well, I'm sure it is.

Speaker 8 (03:25):
It's like you find you find out that somebody's in
the hospital. It's like, well, we didn't want you to worry.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Uh, okay, Yeah, it's it's a tough one. It's a
tough one, very very much so, because like I've had this,
Like my dad was this a couple of years ago.
Were there and my dad said, yeah, my ecologists. I said, whoa, whoa, whoa,
Oh you have an ecologist? Why do you have an oncologist?
And uh, you know, there's some information that I hadn't

(03:51):
he hadn't hadn't shared with maybe he didn't want to.
But then I think about my kids. I don't want
them worried about all my medical problems when they're outliving
their lives, right, I mean, I wouldn't like go ahead
and die without learning them that I'm sick or something
like that. But you know, you're out, you're having kids,
you're having fun. You don't need to be worried about me.
I'm fine. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
You know it's funny because I always had a different
idea about it because I come from a very like
open Sharry family. But you know, when I had my
skin cancer surgery a couple of weeks ago, It's minor.
Skin cancer is easily cured if you catch it in time.
But I thought, I just I'd rather talk about other
things yeah, and I'm gonna be fine. I have all

(04:33):
the faith that I need and the doctor and the
surgeon and all that.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I just I don't want to talk about it.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah, And you know, and and a couple of people
were kind of surprised when I said, yeah, I had
this and it's done and it's healing. I'd be like, well,
if you had a but and I get it. And
it's love that makes them say that, and I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
But but it's love that makes you not.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Tell them right right, well, and I get the whole
I've known a couple of people personally, and one celebrity
in particular who absolutely demanded of his friends that they
not say a goddamn word about his illness because he
was not going to relate to people as the sick

(05:16):
guy right in.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
The last part of his life. That's the other he
chose that quite specifically. That's the other thing too. You
get to have another summer or Christmas or however long
you got of normal interaction with your kids, right as
opposed to it's all about the fact that I'm.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Going to die, right or are your friends? Yeah, I
just want to be buddies. It gives me joy, I
love it. I'm going to be the sick guy if
this becomes the major topic conversation. I'm not saying you
or me or anybody ought to make one choice or another,
but I understand it more than I used to.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
But since both of you have been on the other
end of it, Katie and Michael, you wish they had
told you?

Speaker 7 (05:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (05:53):
I do.

Speaker 8 (05:54):
Yeah, I mean because the feeling of finding out and
having the panicked fun phone call to try to figure
out what's going on could have that all could have
just been eliminated by being told like, hey, this is
what's going on.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You know.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Well, Michael, you can speak for yourself. But I also
think there's the Hey, if I have very limited time
with you in my life, I would like to know it.
So I'm I'm gonna I'm not going to schedule that
golf trip in the last two weeks of your life
because they don't know it's the last two weeks your life.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Right. Yeah, that's a good that's a good point. You're
you're cheating me. I might come visit you if i'd
have known yours. Yeah, Yeah, tough one.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Different people deal with it in different ways anyway, and
any idea this would get that significant. But it was
a thought starter, wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Now?

Speaker 1 (06:45):
On a lighter note, here's our favorite Trump imitator these days,
Sean Froge, number eleven.

Speaker 7 (06:49):
Michael, We've deported millions so far. Next will deport ill
han Omar Falla la la. Look at how those dougs
are acting. Fala la la, la, la la la. Let's

(07:12):
send those bead ambres packing.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Fala la la.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
There you go.

Speaker 8 (07:20):
You know what's funny about him is I was watching
he has a little podcast he does on on X
and he actually his speaking voice sounds like Trump.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
That helps. Yeah, that does help. That is only like
one and a half degrees off something Trump would actually do. Yeh, Yeah,
that was pretty good.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Continuing the musical theme, the tongue, the boots, the blood,
the bass guitar, Gene Simmons of Kiss. Trump inaugurated them,
anointed them, gifted whatever Kennedy Center honors the other day,
and he's doing the interviews. I've long found Gene to
be a really fascinating guy.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Here he is in twelve.

Speaker 9 (08:02):
I wasn't born in America. My mother and I came
here as legal immigrants. Because there is a difference, and
we waited in line for years until we finally came in.
I mean, I'm still amazed by the wonder that's America,
and I get flack for that for people saying, well,
are you doing soundbox?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
No?

Speaker 9 (08:20):
No, I deeply love and I'm amazed by this country
no matter all the problems. There's always you know, people
always argue about stuff. But the wonder that is America
is that I can be here, first generation legal immigrant,
and people who've been here for hundreds of years don't
say go to the back of the line. I can
have access to any position in power I can have

(08:42):
as long as I'm willing to work for it. That's
the American dream.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah, you hear that a lot more out of people
that have come here from other countries. They love this
country and think it's amazing. Compared to people that have
been here for generations and you went to some fancy college,
you hate this country and think it's all done. Wow.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
The difference in perspective is amazing. Here's a little more
from Gene.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Would Kiss consider reuniting and playing one last time? I
have a turning point USA super Bowl halftime show. How
much it's negotiate that.

Speaker 9 (09:13):
It's not even a conversation. And so before you have
a conversation with anything, you go into a place where
they sell cars and there's a number up there.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
There's no talking. You're going to see some numbers. Do
you have a number, of course, so.

Speaker 9 (09:28):
You tell us to the far more than you'll ever be
able to afford.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
In your entire life.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Shot would you play at the turning Point? USA super
Bowl halftime Show?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I didn't know that was the thing.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
That's like a a what's the word I'm looking for?
It's it sucks to get old, speculation piled on fantasy.
I don't even know what they're talking about.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
But I liked his answer how much he's a businessman.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
And then finally, I hope this juice is at least
semi worth the squeeze. Do you remember the band Garbage?
Any bands are garbage? This is a band called Garbage.
What was her big hits? I can hear it in
my head, but I.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Only happy when it rains.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
Stupid girl.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yeah, there you go. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Butch Vig, who's one of the great producers in hard
rock history and is also a musician and was one
of the lead guys in the band in Shirley Manson,
the cute little redheaded Scottish lead singer. Here she is
going nuts over a beach ball at some music festival.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Let me just set this up a little bit.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
So they're up on stage and people are bouncing beach
balls in the crowd and she gets upset about it.
But I think she's just upset that she doesn't.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Like her job. So here we go.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
Oh God, if you're a big beach ball, I'm so
scared of you.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Oh by you? What of juchebag.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Like?

Speaker 2 (11:05):
It literally makes me want to fag people to go
over there and punch you in the face.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
It's disrespectful and musicians had enough.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
We're fan of getting I'm a fanom of having.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
To play for doucebags like you.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
You're a middle aged man and a ridiculous hat.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
I literally want to ask people to punch you in
the face. I'm a lady. Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
So she's bitter about not getting enough streaming money, which
is a semi legit issue. And I've seen that a
couple of times in concerts where the musicians go crazy
because people are batting beach balls around.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah, And there's been a couple of instances where recently
of famous musicians walking off stage early because they're angry
at like a person, and then the whole rest of
the crowd gets screwed and that becomes a problem. Yeah,
I don't. That's actually earning a description of that the
other day from a musician who had done that, and

(12:07):
he got back to his dressing room and the crowd
was still booing, and that's when it occurred to him,
all those other people paid to come here and see me,
but I've already walked off, so I can't go back.
And damn, yeah, wow, I feel bad. First that was
actually actually actually I'll just jam this in at the individual.

(12:30):
Do we have more clips now?

Speaker 5 (12:32):
So?

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Todd Snyder, one of my favorite musicians, died a couple
of weeks ago. Drank himself to death. Too bad. He's
my age. Should have quit when he was younger. But
he has a story when he walked off stage. He
had he had a heckler in the crowd at some
concert and the guy came backstage afterwards and just started
drinking the booze and he likes, who the hell are
you is? The guy who invented crocs? The guy the

(12:55):
inventor of Crocs that was worth gazillions of dollars. So anyway,
Todd Snyder ended and he was a Todd Snyder fan,
So Todd Snyder ended up flying around with this guy
on his private plane. Now is he the heckler he was?
He ended up being a heckler, yes, because Tod Snyder's
on stage and he's gonna do is he's a singer songwriter,

(13:16):
and somebody keeps yelling play Freebird, and and Todd Snyder's like,
ha ha, and the guy just keept interrupting his stories
of play Freebird, and he finally gets mad and storms
off stage. And then the CROCS guy comes back there
and says, why did you storm off stage? And everything
like that? Is that kind of beginning to mickle? Anyway?
On the they're in the plane flying home when he
finds when the CROCS guy says, well, that was me

(13:38):
yelling free bird, but oh my god, yeah, yeh yeah yeah.
And the honey though, you end up just befriending the
guy who infected CROCS, who turns out to be a
drunken party guy apparently just flying them all over the
country and they're having these like multi day they don't
remember where they were parties.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
You know the fact that the the inventor of crocs
was not an opera loving investor in fine wines.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
It's not a shock that math works. Yeah yeah, oh,
thank you guy, Well, thanks metal guy. I guess that's it.
