(00:00):
This is Dan Caplis and welcome totoday's online podcast edition of The Dan Caplis
Show. Please be sure to giveus a five star rating if you'd be
so kind, and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every single
day on your favorite podcast platform. We need a very strong Republican party.
We need a very strong Republican partyto stop the wrongdoing of the left and
(00:22):
to do good things that includes righthere in Colorado. So today is a
very good day to be a ColoradoRepublican because what we see today is we
see some Republican leaders rising up againsta party chair who is making enormous mistakes
that are undermining the causes that we'reall committed to undermining the GOP itself.
(00:47):
And so to see these chairs, and not all of them, but some
of these county chairs rise up andsay, wait a second, this is
wrong. We've got to stop it. Whether it's this ludicrous approach, this
very counter productive approach that Dave Williamshas taken to the issue of Pride Month
and the Pride flag and listen, there are some very important issues there.
We've got a leftist government which istrying to impose its radical agenda on children.
(01:12):
It's trying to separate children from theirparents' children from their faith. There
are all sorts of serious issues here, but the chair of the Colorado GOP
has taken an approach which which underminesthe cause of those who are trying to
stand up for the children and religiousfreedom and religious liberty and parental rights,
and has just cast the GOP ina very negative and unfair light. And
(01:36):
there are also questions obviously of usingthe party to advance his own campaign.
I like Dave Williams personally. Ienjoy it when we get a chance to
talk. We've talked off air.I enjoy him. But at the same
time he is doing things that aredeeply harming our causes and our parties.
So great day to be part ofthe Colorado GOP, because now we see
(01:57):
others rise up and say no enoughas an off we're not going to take
this anymore. And one of thoseis Nancy Palazi. She's head of the
Jeffco GOP and kind enough to joinus off the top today. Nancy,
welcome back to the Dan Kaplis Show. Well, thank you, Dan,
thank you for having me on today. Well, and please tell folks what
you have done the Jefferson County Republicans. The press release you issued today,
(02:20):
which obviously we've all read, butthose who haven't, just let them know
what you did and why you didit. Well, there's a lot of
facets to this and how we gotto where we are today. A little
background. As Sarah Jefferson County newchair as of February of last year,
(02:42):
one of my goals was to unitethe Republicans here in Jeffco because we are
very divided, or have been, and I've worked very hard to bring both
sides together to start communicating with eachother and working and helping with each other,
and I hopefully we'll find some positivechange here with the upcoming elections here
in Jefco. But on the otherside too, I'm also trying to help
(03:07):
the party as a whole statewide becausewe have that division on a state level
as well. I am in communicationwith the Denver Metro chairs on a weekly
basis. Every month, we actuallyget together as a group and we talk.
We're mentors to each other, wehelp ask questions all kinds of things,
(03:30):
and this is something that we've takenupon ourselves for the past year of
just communicating well with each other withinthe Denver metro area of Republican chairs.
And this has been an issue onour conversation for some time. You know,
we've watched the first email of himendorsing Trump, and we've been watching
this progress into different emails, andwhen the email came out here this last
(03:53):
this week, we just we can'tlet this happen. This is not who
we are. He is not thevoice of a majority of the Republicans in
the state. And it's time thatthe other leadership stands up and starts saying
we've had enough. And so whataction has the jeffco GOP called for?
(04:16):
Well, in the press release,it starts with Republican Party leaders call on
state chairman to resign. So Iwrote this on behalf of numerous party leaders,
chairs and actually candidates too, toask mister Dave Williams, our chair,
(04:36):
to resign from his position, andwhich other party leaders and chairs are
supporting this call for him to resign. And I'm glad you did it.
It's nothing personal today, but forall the reasons I mentioned, he's undermining
the causes that are so important. He's undermining the party, He's undermining most
of the candidates. So who backsyou on this? I have lots of
(05:00):
backing. Now. One thing wedid is we decided to send out this
press release to kind of get thismotion going. And I have contacted all
of the sec the chairs, andall of the leaders throughout the county and
ask them to be on board withthis. And I'm getting lots of wonderful
(05:21):
response in terms of that. Andon Monday, we're going to send out
another press release with all of thesenames, okay, and counties that are
behind us. So this was justa beginning and on Monday, you're going
to see all of the support behindthis. Well, I tell you,
I just have to give you somuch credit individually, because it's tough to
(05:43):
be one of the first, andyou're one of the first here, and
I don't doubt that there are many, many, many more across the metro
area and beyond, and they hesitateto speak up because obviously Dave hits back
very hard at those who are criticalof him. I expect they'll be hitting
back very hard to get at me. And that's fine. I mean,
you can take it. I cantake it. Anybody who's decided they want
(06:05):
to be in a position where theycan impact things for the better. Better
be able to take it, becauseyou're going to run into two folks who
take this approach, the one Dave'staken, where where there seems to be
this attempt to bully folks who whodisagree and to say, oh, they're
just leftist boot liquors or whatever. And I wish David come on because I
(06:26):
enjoyed Dave personally. I enjoy myconversations with him. I'd like to have
the battle of ideas. But ifDave wants to compare credentials on who has
stood up to the left over theyears publicly, I'll compare my credentials to
his any day of the week. And the point is, we've got to
put these causes first. We haveto put the GOP as long as it's
(06:46):
doing good things first. And itseems to me that Dave's out there doing
some wild eyed stuff that undermines thecauses, undermines the party, but gets
him a lot of attention. Butyou know what it should be about the
these bigger causes, and it shouldbe about that the party as a whole
and all the good it can doright, and there's a lot of good
it can do. And I justgot off the phone with the Manazuma chair
(07:13):
and her and I had a reallygreat conversation. And these chairs are there.
They're thanking me. They're like, thank you for doing something, because
we don't know what to do,a lot of them are new chairs,
right. They have no idea whatthey're supposed to do, and they're stuck
in these little towns that are havingthese Republicans call them and say, what
is going on here world? Andfor those who aren't familiar with some of
(07:39):
the more recent issues, I meanour guest, Nancy Palazi, chair of
the Jeffco GOP, is referring toin part this June third email to members
of the Colorado GOP that includes quoteGod hates pride, and includes and I
think I have this verbatim. Themonth of June has arrived, and once
again the godless groomers in our societywant to it tack what's decent, holy
(08:01):
and righteous so they can ultimately harmour children. It goes on to say,
weak Republicans who bow down at thefeet of the leftist, canceled culture
garbage. The Republicans who stand upand say this is awful, This undermines
the cause you want to succeed onthis issue and do the things we need
to do to protect religious liberty andchildren and parental rights. You take the
(08:22):
opposite approach than this. This isjust you know, set your hair on
fire so you can get some attentiontactics. And so the people who do
the hard work in the trenches, who actually want to win on these issues
have to be mortified by this.Yeah, they are. I mean we
need a share that is their roleis to elect candidates, Republican candidates,
(08:46):
to build and support the county organizations, raise money and just be that support
system that we need on a statelevel. And let me asking answer,
can you stay through a break?Because the other thing I want to ask
you about is there have been anumber of published pieces. Is some in
the media and some you know,Kelly Maho, I have a lot of
respect for some pieces that claim thatDave has been using party funds to advance
(09:11):
his own primary down in c Dfive. Is that part of your concern
and the concern of the other chairshere. Well, actually that only came
to me last night. You know, I'm here up in the Denver area,
so I don't really pay attention tothe l Paso stuff as much.
But I've had several people send mesome shots of the flyers that have been
(09:35):
going out. So no, thatis not part of why we did this,
but it's an ongoing concern. Yeah, I would sure think so in
this whole idea of the state partynow endorsing candidates in primaries. But why
don't we do this? Nancy?Again, I think you're being heroic here
and you're serving the causes and theparty very well. You want to get
(09:58):
together again on Monday after you releasethe list of other folks who are on
board as well and calling for Dave'sresignation. We invited him on today as
party chair. We invited him ontoday and then hopefully he'll join us Monday.
Good. Yes, I'll be morethan happy. Okay, we'll get
together Monday. Have a great weekend. Thank you you too. Thank you.
That's Nancy Pelasier. Give her alot of credit there. Like to
get your action listen. I respectthe fact there are going to be plenty
(10:22):
of folks listening to the show rightnow disagree with me. Would love to
have the conversation with you live eightfive five for zero five eight two five
five or text d A N fiveseven seven three nine. At the at
the end of the day, though, I think this is clear, and
you know who should be most upsetabout this bizarre stuff that Dave's doing is
the most hardcore conservatives should be themost upset about this, because his tactics
(10:48):
are undermining the costs. His tacticsare a gift to the leftist, the
very behavior that upsets people so much. You're on the Dan Kaplis Show,
and now back to the Dan KaplaShow podcast, because this is a great
day to be a Republican if you'renew to Colorado. We have a state
chair. He's a good guy.I like Dave Williams personally. I like
(11:09):
talking to him. But he isdoing, in my opinion, some terrible
thing at things's chair, which areundermining the causes that are so important.
They're undermining the causes that he claimshe cares so much about. And it
appears to me that so much ofthis appears to be designed to just call
attention to Dave Williams. And thetruth is right, I mean, he's
(11:33):
succeeding in that. We otherwise wouldn'tbe spending our show today talking about Dave
Williams, but we have no choicebecause his actions are doing such harm right
now. And Dave Williams out there, and if you're not familiar with it,
I'll play one of the many, many news stories. This might be
a national one. It's a bignational news story, which I think was
the intent when Dave went ahead andthe Colorado GOP do what the Colorado GOP
(11:58):
did in part on June and sendout this email God hates Pride and it
had this vivid imagery and it talkedabout the month of June has arrived and
once again the godless groomers in oursociety want to attack what is decent and
holy and righteous so they can ultimatelyharm our children. Listen, there are
serious issues here. There are seriousissues about, in part, a leftist
(12:20):
administration that's trying to impose its radicalagenda on children, on parents, separate
children from their faith, Separate parentsfrom their faith and their children. They
are all sorts of serious issues here. Religious liberty at stake because of this
radical administration agenda. There are importantthings that we need to fight. We
need to fight legally, legislatively.None of them, none of those positions
(12:46):
involve any kind of animis any kindof hate, any kind of negativity toward
individual people who may be gay. These are entirely separate issues. So when
somebody does something as flat out stupidas to go out and intentionally try to
make this about hate and hatred ofindividual gay people, that that's flat out
(13:09):
wrong and it's absolutely counterproductive. AndI have to believe a smart guy like
Dave knew that when he decided togo do this. But in the end,
you can always tell right, youcan separate the folks. Listen,
we all, to some extent,we're all human, right, We all
to some extent operate out of selfinterest. None of us can deny that.
But the best of us work reallyhard, to the best of our
ability to put causes and others aboveourselves, to live for something bigger than
(13:37):
ourselves. And have a party chairis doing all this stuff to call attention
to himself. That's undermining the causeand the party. That's as wrong as
it gets. And that's why it'sso great to see some GOP leaders start
to step up. We had NancyPelosi, chair of the Jefferson County GOP,
with us at four or five. You can pick it up off the
pod if you didn't hear it,and she's called on Dave Williams the GOP
(14:00):
and Jeff go has to resign, she says. Monday, there'll be a
list of other party chairs and partyleaders calling on Dave to step down his
chair, which clearly he should andclearly he won't, but it is so
important that people stand up to himon this. That's the first step.
That's the first step to giving rebirthto the party. Listen, there are
a ton of people out there, including party chairs and leaders, who county
(14:24):
chairs and leaders who support Dave Williamsand would disagree with me on this,
and I respect them and they arekey to the success of the Colorado GOP.
But on this issue that the asmany people as possible must rise up
against what Dave is doing, andthe fact that he won't resign doesn't matter.
The voices have to be heard, the call has to be out there.
(14:46):
It's the first step to getting theparty back to where it should be
and right now that the way Dave'srunning it, it is an abject negative.
Party does some very good things thatI praised on air, including back
against that outrageous attempt to keep Trumpoff the bout in Colorado the GOP.
Colorado GOP did great work on that, and I praised him for it at
(15:07):
the time, including praise Dave. But overall, overall, Dave is doing
so many things that are a giftand absolute gift to the left. And
that's what's so crazy here. Sogood to see, good to see a
Nancy Plazi taking the lead there, and hopefully others were told others will join
(15:28):
in on Monday. Would love tohear from you, and those who disagree
obviously take first. But those whoare very solidly in Dave's corner, and
those tend to be some of themost active, important, hardcore conservatives in
the state, please give this somethought. The people who are being hurt
(15:48):
worse by these strange actions of Daveare the most hardcore conservatives because by engaging
in this behavior, he is handingthis gift to the left. He is
deflating the Colorado GOP, weakening theColorado GOP, making the Colorado GOP look
like a clown car, and heis actively helping the left through these efforts.
(16:12):
I'm not saying that's his intent, but how can you not see it?
And I don't mean you the individualcounty chair or activists out there.
How could Dave not see it thatif you were on the left and you
were saying, you all got togetheron the left and you're smoking your whatever,
you're doing your whatever, and you'retrying to think about how to hurt
(16:32):
the Colorado GOP and Republican and Republicancauses and conservative causes as much as you
could. And your question on theleft was, Okay, what do we
want the party chair to do thatwill help the left the most and hurt
the GOP the most. It wouldbe a list of what Dave's doing right
now. And if you think I'mwrong, let me know. And we've
(16:53):
invited davon. We've had conversations manytimes when we agree and disagree, and
including last week. Is is Davecoming on today? Does anybody know?
I don't think anybody at this pointis at any kind of confirmation, but
there's always an open door for Dave. And then Nancy Pelosi is going to
be back with us Monday, becauseshe said that to Monday, other county
(17:15):
chairs and leaders and those active inthe GOP are going to get behind this
call for Dave to resign. Sowe've got a lot on the agenda today,
but would love your thoughts on this. I have a text I'll pick
up on the other side. Didthe Colorado GOP take responsibility for the hate
email? Was this a hack?Thank you JB for that question. When
(17:37):
we come back, we will answerthat question resoundingly with a follow up statement
to the national media by Dave Williamsparty chair, where he doubled and tripled
down on this bizarreness, his damaging, counterproductive gift to the left bizarreness.
Dan, who do we contact tovoice our objections to Dave william actions.
(18:00):
We'll talk about that as well,And it's not personal. Again, I
like the guy. He's just he'sdoing crazy things that are doing a lot
of damage to the GOP and toimportant causes. You're on the Dan Caplis
Show. You're listening to the DanKaplis Show podcast. We're starting to see
(18:23):
the party fight back, push backagainst a rogue party chair. And it
hurts my heart to say that becauseI like Dave Williams personally. We've got
him on the show a lot,but he's gone rogue and he's hurting the
party, and he's hurting the causes, and he's he's really all of these
folks who have these justifiable concerns aboutthis administration and corporate America, you know,
(18:45):
trying to undermine religious liberty and tryingto undermine you know that the relationships
between parents and children separate children fromtheir faith. By pushing this radical agenda,
Dave is giving a gift to theleft when he does things as GOP
chair like put out an email sayingGod hates Pride. The month of June
(19:06):
has arrived, and once again godlessgroomers in our society want to attack what
is decent and holy and righteous sothey can ultimately harm our children. Listen,
he is handing the left to gifthere, because you want to talk
about undermining the cause. You know, thinking people, which is the vast
majority of folks out there, thinkingpeople understand we've got these profound policy issues.
(19:29):
We've got this administration with this radicalagenda. Obviously, the administration wants
to separate children from their faith andothers from their faith. But you don't
defeat that. But by spewing hatetoward gay people. In fact, that's
a gift to the left. It'scompletely unjustified, by the way, because
every thinking person understands that individual gaypeople should not be the subjects of hate,
(19:53):
a subject of hate, They aren'tthe subject of hate from any rational,
reasonable person. And you can addressthis leftist agenda without making it a
hate issue. You just play intothe hands of the left when you spew
that nonsense. So what's really goingon here? Whatever it is, it's
just very harmful to the cause andto cross the board. So great to
(20:15):
see some in the Colorado GOP risingup against that, and we expect they'll
be more out shortly. Text orDan, if I'm not mistaken, pride
is one of the seven Deadly sins? Do you think he's going to use
this as a reason as his reasonto stand up? Interesting text? And
maybe if Dave came on the show, that would be his rationale, But
(20:40):
that wouldn't make any sense here.I mean, first of all, if
you want to reduce this to asin thing, because God does hate sin,
right, love the sin or hatethe sin, we're all sinners.
If you want to make this asin thing, then I guess by the
rationale of the Colorado GOP email. And I hate to even use those words
because I have to believe and thisis my belief. I don't have act
as to their internal process, butI have to believe this was a Dave
(21:03):
Williams thing rather than a Colorado GOPthing. By that logic, then God
hates all of us. By thatlogic that the email should have said six
three email to members, God hatesall of us. No, he doesn't.
He loves all of us. Hehates sin We're all sinners. So
the second you decide to make thisabout God hating the people we disagree with,
(21:26):
you've got to be smart enough toknow that A that that's completely goofy
and illogical and wrong, and byou're handing victory to your opponent. So
I'm glad to see people in theGOP starting to rise up. Those who
disagree with me on this. Pleaselet's we'll make you the priority color Priority
Texter. So the DAN did theColorado GP tick responsibility for the hate email?
(21:51):
Was this a heck that from JBESThey did. Dave Williams doubled down
on it, and I'll get youthe verbatim of that statement that he made
doubling down on it, and then, oh yeah, I think I pulled
this in my show prep. Ithink I pulled this out of the double
down statement a reference to weak Republicanswho bow down at the feet of the
(22:12):
leftist cancel culture. So that that'sthat's how Dave is trying to label Republicans
like me who object to what he'sdoing. Now, this wasn't aimed at
me by name. I'm sure somethingwill be soon, but that's fine.
I can take it weak Republicans whobowed down at the feet of leftist cancel
(22:33):
culture. So I guess if youlook at this the way I do,
you're a a weak Republican and byou're bowing down at the feed of leftist
cancel culture. First of all, that's all pretty Kindergarten, isn't it.
I mean, it's it's just pretty. It's just pretty silly, because first
of all, who's who's bowing downat the feet of the left here,
(22:57):
who's handing the left vicory on asilver platter. It's Dave By engaging in
these tactics. And you want totalk about weak Republicans, well, think
of all the Republicans, like Iguessed at ro six Nancy Plazi, head
of the jeffco GOP. Think ofall the Republicans actually out there in the
trenches doing all of this hard work. They're not getting headlines, they're not
(23:19):
in the media, they're not sellingout our causes so they can get some
more clicks and media attention. They'rein the trenches day in and day out,
doing all the hard work. Thosearen't weak people. Those are strong
people. And then those who areblessed to have a microphone like I do,
who've been critical of Dave on stufflike this and I praised him on
(23:40):
some other things. Yeah, let'sjust have a colm rational, respectful discussion
and compare our credentials in terms ofstanding up to the leftist cancel culture.
Because Dave has done some good thingsand he's done some bad things, like
the things they're talking about today. And I will compare my credentials over the
last thirty years standing up to theleftist cancel culture with his any day of
(24:04):
the week, or with anybody elsehe wants to compare credentials with any of
them, I'll compare with any ofthem. And let's see who has done
more, who has done more hardwork standing up to the left, who
has fearlessly taken the left on,publicly taken the left on and taking a
lot of abuse for it. I'llcompare those credentials any day of the week,
(24:27):
you know. And I hate toeven use the term bullying because I
laugh at the thought that Dave couldbully me. And again, I like
Dave, but I laugh. Iwould never be bullied by Dave. But
there is this bullying aspect now twoand I won't say the Colorado GOP,
but because he's chair, it getslabeled Colorado GOP. But Dave's tactics now
(24:49):
involve this bullying of those who woulddare to disagree, like labeling them weak
Republicans who bowed down at the feetof the leftist cancel culture. And I
think he's been successfully able to intimidatea lot of people. And that's sad
because I got to tell you,as a guy who was a Democrat for
years and then came to the ColoradoGOP very skeptical and reluctant, and then
(25:14):
had his eyes open to how manygreat people there are in the Colorado GOP
and what tremendous work they do.You know he is right now. The
way he's behaving, Dave is,in my opinion, one of the worst
possible examples of the Colorado GOP becausethe vast majority of people on the Colorado
GOP are not that way, andthey're they're extremely devoted to the causes above
(25:41):
self. They're loving, they're rational, they're tough, they're determined, they're
hardworking. Their substance over style.I could not be more impressed as a
former Democrat with the Colorado GOP andthe grassroots and the organizations. It's incredibly
imps and Dave right now, thoughhas made himself the face of the Colorado
(26:04):
GOP, is portraying a polar oppositeimage of what the Colorado GOP really is.
And again, welcome Dave to comeon the show and have the conversation
we invited him today. I'm surehe's a busy man, hopefully can join
us Monday, when we're told othercounty chairs will be now rising up to
support the call for his resignation, which we all know he won't do right.
(26:26):
But that's not the point. Thepoint is you have to stand up
against this nonsense. Have to.That's the first step in the Colorado GOP
getting back to where it needs tobe. Eight five for zero five A
two five five the number. Iwant to get to some other textas well.
Plus on the other side, wegot a lot more to do today.
I want to come back more fromPresident Trump on the issue of whether,
(26:49):
as president in a second term,he's going to use DOJ to seek
revenge on political opponents. We'll havesome more on that, and then Ken
Buck chime me in taking a shotat Trump. That's always fascinating, right
the guy who think about this, think about this, abandoned his constituents after
(27:10):
years of being a tremendous conservative publicservant, being so admirable in so many
ways, Ken then abandons his constituentsand leaves them without representation. As we
say here right now, the peopleof the four CD are among very few
people in America who do not haverepresentation in Congress because Ken Buck abandoned them,
(27:30):
the opposite of what conservatives do.But Ken has time, doesn't have
time to serve as constituents through theend of the term, but he has
time to take shots at Donald Trump. So we'll have that after the break
on the Dan Kaplass Show. Andnow back to the Dan Kaplass Show podcast.
What we did was, I mean, we just kind of blew it
out right. So by the endof the wedding, we didn't have any
(27:52):
savings left, but it was worthit. And so we got this live
band and they must they must haveplayed it like ten times. Yes,
I'll ask Gamey. I'll text herand ask her. Now, hold on,
just on that note, isn't therea big round number coming up between
the two of you? Oh yeah, in a matter of days. Yeah,
zero three zero, yeah, sandbaggingon us. Yeah, it's really
(28:15):
gone quickly too. That's good,Yeah, in a good way. Yeah.
Oh yeah, like that first yearwhen you know, because I was
in my late thirties when we gotmarried, and you've been living alone all
these years. That first year you'retrying to figure it all out, you
know what I mean. Oh yeah, and then the next twenty nine went
like a month. So it's justgetting through that first year. That's your
advice for that. I wouldn't callit getting through it, no, I'd
say the first year, well,my lord, every day has to be
(28:38):
misery for it. But it's anadjustment period that first year. Sure,
and you get married, it's Imean, I've been living alone all those
years and she'd been, so it'san adjustment period absolutely, And just in
terms of like, oh, there'ssomebody in the bathroom, you know.
I mean it was me and mydog for years. I never lived with
(28:59):
the woman anything like that. Itwas me and my dog for years.
And so there's an adjustment. Butin the first year was wonderful. It
was just an adjustment. But yeah, those last twenty nine if absolutely flown
eight five five for zero five Atwo five five of the number text d
an five seven seven three nine.Hey, we're talking about what I hope
(29:19):
will be the start of many, many leaders in the Colorado GOP rising up
to say no, Dave Williams, you cannot be chair of the Colorado GOP
acting this way. You're undermining thecauses we believe in. You're undermining the
party. You can't be doing thesethings. And we saw a little bit
of that today. Nancy Palazzi, who is chairing jeffco joined us at four
(29:41):
oh six and called on Dave toresign, which of course he won't.
Right, you could have absolutely everychair in the state, every GOP member
in the state, calling Dave toresign, and he wouldn't. That's the
problem right now, in my constitutionallyprotected opinion, as it appears to me
that Dave is putting self over party. For cause over sanity, over everything,
(30:03):
and there's an awful lot of harmbeing done. So here's part of
it. This is one of themany national local stories out there now in
Colorado, after a fundraising email fromColorado's Republican Party called for LGBTQ pride flags
to be burned and described LGBTQ Americansas godless groomers. The subject line of
(30:25):
the message god hates flags, whichechoes messaging by the fringe Westboro Baptist Church.
That email was signed by Colorado GOPchair Dave Williams, and the same
message was also posted on x ourmula. LANGI is in Colorado has been
following the story, so well, let's just kind of back up and tell
us what happened here. Well, yeah, heire as you described, the
(30:47):
Colorado Republican Party sending out this emailto its members with the subject line god
hates Pride, of course, referringto the LGBTQ community as well as Pride
Month, which they are celebrating thismonth of June. And the email goes
on to describe members of the LGBTQcommunity as quote evil, woke creeps,
(31:07):
the godless groomers, and it accusesthem of attempting to indoctrinate and harm children.
That email also links to a videoor a pastor describing the rainbow flag,
of course, that symbolizes the LGBTQmovement as representing the quote demonic realm
and human indecencyes. I hope Tavejoined us on the show so we can
(31:29):
get a little insight into the thinkinghere or lack thereof. So exactly what
was it you thought was going tohelp the cause here? Was going to
help defeat this administration's agenda, itsradical agenda to impose its belief on children
and all of us and separate childrenfrom their parents, and children from their
(31:52):
faith and parents from the faith. What about this do you think was going
to help with that? Because itseems to me that if Dave's down and
thought, what can I say anddo that will most undermine our cause of
religious liberty and parental rights and parentalnotification, etc. It would be what
he did, because once you makeit about hate, which is not what
(32:15):
it's about. It is about aserious policy issue. It's about a serious
radical left administration trying to impose itsviews and separate people from their faith.
That's what it's about. I wouldbet Ryan for ninety nine point nine percent
of all the people out there, there is not an ounce of hate,
(32:36):
individual hatred for individual gay people,or hatred toward gays that's involved in their
life or in their rationale. Yetthe party chair goes out of his way
to make this about hate. It'sbizarre, it's wrong, it's counterproductive,
It makes the gop licorable, ithands your political opponents a major victory,
(33:00):
and all it succeeds in doing beyondthat is calling attention to Dave Williams.
And I think it's totally out ofphase with where the party is today in
twenty twenty four, and with wherevoters and Republicans who consider themselves to be
like you and me are in twentytwenty four. And we have a poll
on the six point thirty k howthat's the local Denver x page formerly known
(33:22):
as Twitter, asking whether you agreewith Nancy in her earlier comments calling on
Dave Williams to resign or if youdisagree, yeah and and buy listen.
We know he's not going to resign, right. Let me get to a
couple of texts here, But it'sjust so important that people be heard that
their voices be heard and that thegopie start to come back. And I
(33:44):
know a lot of people like totalk about other these two different factions.
You've got some, you know, labeled establishment. You've got others who are
labeled grassroots or whatever. First ofall, I think those labels are really
sloppy and overbroad. But at theend of the days, it's the folk
who might be more likely to labelthemselves grassroots or hardcore conservative or mega or
(34:05):
whatever who are being most hurt byDave's antics because the causes that you care
so much about are being undermined byhim. Tremendous text on this. When
we get back, what should thenext step be? Year on the Dan Caplish
