(00:00):
This is Dan Caplis, and welcometo today's online podcast edition of The Dan
Caplis Show. Please be sure togive us a five star rating if you'd
be so kind, and to subscribe, download, and listen to the show
every single day on your favorite podcastplatform. I've been so adamant, whether
it's inside the party or outside theparty, so adamant about Wait a second,
(00:20):
we've got to be smart. Wecan't be saying stupid things. We
can't be doing stupid things. Wecan't be handing the enemy gifts, the
political enemy, of course, giftsand victories that were just better than that.
And we've got to do what ittakes to make sure that we're moving
forward and not backwards. So we'llhave the latest on that in a couple
of minutes. I do want toget back to in a second, this
(00:44):
Gallop poll that the left's making sucha big deal about, trying to convince
the nation that that America has decidedlyshifted against life and it's going to be
a disastrous issue for Republicans in November. Nonsense. And so I've been breaking
down the details from this poll, which actually contains a lot more good news
for pro lifers than it does forpro aborts. Hey, let's go to
(01:06):
the VIP line. One of thereally good people in politics, Jerry Sonenberg,
who is now running for that seatup in CD four and a GOP
primary packed with talent. Jerry kindenough to join us again. Welcome to
the Dan Kaplo Show. Jerry? How you doing? I am doing fantastic.
You always are, fday afternoon. How are you? You always are?
(01:27):
I expect if I was to bumpinto you the moment the results come
out on June twenty five, andwhether you have won this primary by ten
points or lost it by ten points, you're going to be the same happy,
upbeat, forward looking guy, whichis one of your many great qualities.
Absolutely absolutely I will. My wifeI have talked about what happens if
(01:53):
you win, what happens if youlose. How's that play out? The
truth is this campaign, whether Iwin or lose, has made me a
better man. Well, and you'rerunning the right way for the right reasons.
For me, it's all about howdo you serve the people. And
(02:15):
when I was in the Colorado Legislature, it wasn't the bills I carried,
It wasn't the fights that I hadon the floor of the Senate. Although
those are important, it was moreabout constituent services. How did I take
care of those people that were havingtrouble navigating the Department of Revenue, or
the towns, the small towns thathad trouble with the Department of Health and
(02:38):
Human Services, or even my farmersand ranchers that may have had issues and
needed to navigate through the Department Agriculture. For what I support, That's what
I work on. Yeah, thatis such a great point because I remember
when my mom was dying of emphysemaand I needed some information critically, you
(03:00):
know, from a US senator whoI had, you know, given a
lot of money to and supported, and I didn't want to talk to him.
I didn't want any kind of favor, I didn't want any special treatment.
I just needed some information and calledhis office and they just blew me
off. And I thought, whyI haven't run for office if you're not
willing to help people in a momentlike that. Absolutely, And the truth
(03:23):
is, if I have people thatblow off constituents that call, we're getting
new people. Because that's that's themainstay of my campaign is how do we
serve. How do we take careof those things that the government puts up
in front of you as a citizen, whether it's a passport issue or local
(03:50):
unidation with very smater quality, thosetype of things, that's what those are
the or a bad cell phone connection. Yeah, can you hear me?
Okay, Jerry, I can't.What is the state of the race?
I mean everybody knows by now thatthat there's kind of a math challenge,
right, because you've got so muchtalent packed into one primary, and then
(04:15):
you're going to be dividing up alot of votes. So so what's the
state of the race? Well, and that's a good question. And you
know you've seen the red the polling, Well, the polling I have challenges
with. But you see the amountof money being spent in the campaign to
(04:35):
get name I d and and yes, I'm spending money on the TV and
trying to get my name out thereso people recognize the work that I've done
and recognize my name when they fillout their ballots. And now there's another
candidate in the race that has reallygood name ID and then has more money,
(04:58):
So that becomes a challenge for therest of us that are looking at
a narrow path to victory. Yeah, because I mean you've got Congressoman Bobert,
you know, with all of thatshe brings to the table, and
then you've got a bunch of reallytalented candidates, and you know, it'd
be interesting to see what it wouldlook like in a one on one race,
but obviously not the race that wehave here. So what is your
(05:19):
website? How can people learn moreabout you? Dan? Thank you for
asking. It's Sunberg for Congress dotcom. S O M M E N
B E R G E F OR Congress dot com. H happy to
answer any questions my emails on there. They can reach out and I have
(05:41):
a number of people do that.I've been having an ongoing conversation with a
number of people, and my campaignteam says, you don't have time to
do that, and yes I doquite frankly. That's what's important, is
that one on one having a conversationand not blowing people off. Yeah.
Well, I'll tell you really areone of the good guys in politics,
you have been for a long time. And wish you the best here and
(06:03):
let's talk again before election day, which is seems like tomorrow, right,
I believe how close to twenty fiveis? Holy cow? And I bet
you're counting a minute. Well,hey, and have a good Father's Day.
You do the same, Dan,have a wonderful weekend and a wonderful
Father's Day. And thank you forthe opportunity to just catch up and busit
with you. I look forward totalking to you again. Thank you,
(06:25):
my friend you as well. Thatis Jerry Sonenberg. And I've said this
before. There's no doubt in mymind if if you were out there driving
through the Eastern Plains and it wasthe worst blizzard they'd ever had and your
car breaks down and it's five belowzero, Jerry would be the guy to
stop and help you change the tires. Just that kind of guy. Speaking
of Father's Day, we're going todo on the show in a bit one
(06:46):
of my favorite segments of the yearfor both Mother's Day and Father's Day,
which is the best advice your fatherever gave you, Because it's it's amazing,
you know, the kind of thecollective wisdom when everybody starts talking about
that one top best piece of advice. It's fun and a lot to be
learned. Ryan. I'm watching themonitor here because we're talking all the time.
If it was up to me,we'd spend all day every day talking
(07:11):
about the debate between now and debateday, because I think it's going to
be that important and it's that interestingthe way all these dynamics are shaping up.
But so glad to see the chironPresident Trump now talking at his birthday
celebration, a big birthday rally,But see the chiron Trump colon. I'm
a peace maker, and this iswhat we've been talking about in the debate,
(07:32):
the danger of diffusion. Find yourfew key best points, keep hammering
those, and Trump has so manyof those. But I am a peace
maker. You know, A votefor Trump is a vote for peace.
A vote for Biden is a votefor war. That's not rhetoric. We
know it. Just look at thetrack records. Both have had presidencies now
(07:53):
right. Trump's was marked by peace, Biden's marked by war for obvious reasons.
So just stay clear on that theme. The other thing, and if
I had a chance to give thepresident advice, and I think he'd liked
this piece. The other thing isget the guy on the golf course.
You know he's just been through ahorrible ordeal with this this wrongful conviction in
(08:15):
New York, had to be inthat court in for a month. Get
him on the golf course, gethim rested, get him prepped, get
him as sharp as he can bementally, because we don't know he's a
super intelligent guy. But you know, you can also get fatigued if you're
out there on the trail constantly. So just be ready for that. A
Trump. But those key points, those key themes, obviously near the head
(08:35):
of the pack, needs to beI'm a peacemaker. Vote for Trump is
a vote for peace, vote forBiden, vote for war. The proof
is there? Eight five five orzero five A two five five the number
when we come back open lines. But let's start with the best advice your
father ever gave you. I wantto give you more good stuff out of
(08:56):
this gallop pole on pro choice versuspro life, And I want to get
to this texter, who let metee this up? This texture? Says
Dan? How is the life issueddifferent than LGBTQ plus why can we tolerate
one and say it's okay but notthe other? Shouldn't we follow God on
both? Thank you for that question, texter. And there's a very easy
(09:18):
answer to that, we'll get toa five point twenty one point five on
the Dankapitlas Show. And now backto the Dan Taplass Show podcast. What
do you think God would say ifhe called the show wow? Eight five
five for zero five A two fivefive text d A N five seven seven
three nine. We're also pre Father'sDay show. The best advice your father
(09:41):
ever gave you, I'll kick itoff with one. My dad gave so
much great advice. The best advicehe gave was by example. You know,
six foot three, two hundred andthirty pounds, former top college athlete,
Chicago police officer, just watching himin action. Would come home from
More every day when he was workingdays and when he was off and get
(10:03):
all the kids out in the alleyand we'd play football in the alley or
would play softball, depending on theseason. You know, he just taught
me through example that love is spelledtime. Somebody else coined that phrase,
but he did it by example. But one of his great messages was the
most important things in life aren't things? So? And you know he just
(10:24):
lived that. So would love tohear from you on all of that.
But Ryan, before we get toour fiery phone lines. And I'm going
to start with that text I mentionedbefore the break. What do you think
God would say if he called theshow? And I'd love to hear from
other people on that. Yeah, what do you think? And that could
(10:45):
happen? God can do anything hewants, right, Kelly may pick up
that next line, and Kelly,I believe in the New Testament God,
which is a loving, caring, for giving God, and I think he
would want us to love one anotherand not hate one another. What would
he say if he called the show? I don't know him, that talk
about und him. You don't haveto be to answer that question. Think
(11:09):
about it, but I will betyou my friend, and this is the
business. Well you said that beforeI say it again, that's right.
But all all I'm saying is that'sprobably the first time that question has ever
been asked on a talk show anywhere, at any time. So I just
asked people to ponder it. Wetry to stay fresh here. I got
you. Yeah, So anyway, let me get back to that text,
(11:31):
Dan, how is the life issuedifferent than LGBTQ plus why can we tolerate
one and say it's okay but notthe other shouldn't we follow God on both?
Respectfully, I reject your premise. The life issue isn't different than LGBTQ
plus. I mean, the answeris consistent and clear when it comes to
(11:56):
policy, you stop bad things andyou do good things. So on life,
on abortion, you stop bad things. You stop the killing of children
before birth. On LGBTQ plus policyissues, you stop bad things. You
stop the mutilation of children under theguise of quote gender affirmation, you stop
(12:22):
the and I'm talking to policy levelhere, you stop the sexualization of children
at a young age, which iswhat this Biden administration and leftist allies are
trying to do. You stop underminingreligious liberty by saying LGBTQ plus rights trump
religious liberty, You defend First Amendment. You stop the effort of LGBTQ plus
(12:45):
policy issues and rights trumping First Amendmentrights. So it's absolutely consistent on both
fronts. And that's whether one believesin God or doesn't believe in God.
So yeah, I think that onesimple Brian in beautiful Arvada, Colorado.
You're on the Dan Kaplis show.Welcome. Hey, Dan, I could
(13:07):
hearing you say the term God hatesflags. But what else that he said
that offends you, that he's wrongabout. Oh, nothing offends me.
This isn't about offending me. Whatwhat I'm concerned strong? Besides, you're
associating some church or something. Butwhat else in his the post or whatever
(13:31):
offends you? Well, again, that's wrong, right, right, And
I'll be more precise than that. What I'm focused on are the things that
Dave Williams's party chair has done tohelp the left win and to undermine the
GOP in Colorado. And you startwith launching a campaign literally based on hate.
(13:52):
That's a gift to the left, using the H word repeatedly, that
is a gift to the left.And on these you won't, I won't
what you won't tell us specifics aboutit. I have done that beyond that,
and if you hadn't interrupted me,I would have again. But I've
done it in a hundred times.Yes, and and so he's done it
in multiple ways, my friend,as I've documented on this show. First
(14:16):
of all, and the worst ofall is in my opinion, and Dave's
welcome on the show to tell meif he thinks I'm wrong in my opinion,
the absolutely insidious God hates flags postwhich I think any thinking person is
going to view as code for theawful God Hates Fags message of Westboro Baptist
(14:41):
Church that in fact is their website, God Hates Fags dot com. That's
how evil they are. And soyou agree, right, we agree with
went allver that, But what inwhat in his actual narrative beyond that?
Did he say that the wrong toyou? Beyond the little pot? No?
(15:03):
No, wait a second, youwant to drive by that, Brian,
that's a big mistake, because ifI'm right, and Dave's welcome on
the show, if he believes I'mwrong, and to explain, Okay,
Brian, may I please just explainmy point? And the other day we
had somebody called the defend Dave onthis. I literally kept the guy the
entire show, and he dodged questionafter question. I will keep you the
(15:26):
entire show, so you don't haveto interrupt me. Just let me make
my point, and then if I'mwrong, tell me where you want to
say? What else do you got? I want to say, I don't
need any more because if Dave Williamsdid what I believe he did, and
if he chose to have the ColoradoGOP echo Westboro Baptist Church and their insidious
(15:48):
God hates fag's motto that in andof itself is absolutely requires termination from the
post. Westboro Baptist Church is ahate group in my mind, a hate
group in my opinion, that celebratesthe killing of American soldiers. It pickets
the funerals of American soldiers and celebratestheir death. So if Dave Williams did
(16:14):
what I think he did, andand he aligned the Colorado GOP, or
to be more precise, echoed, has the Colorado GOP echo Westboro Baptist Church?
Can't you agree at that point,Brian, he should be gone.
No, not at all. Whatif it's true, Brian, No,
(16:36):
no, no, no, no, what if that's true? No,
he can Okay, it might havebeen. It might have been a little
bit. You know, let's maybeI'll give that to you. But he
got people's attention. I want toknow, you know you can get what
he said was wrong? Okay,I want to know. Well I started
with that, So you tell meif that's what the content I want to
(16:56):
we're shot with that. We alreadyagree on that. No, no,
no, but but you will Brian, what I okay, I'm put Brian
and holds for a second. Ianswered Brian's question. I'm going to ask
Brian to answer mine, and wehave jam lines. We have an open
line. But I'll bring Brian backon the other side. See this,
this is what this is what he'strying to do. He's trying to drive
(17:17):
past this point. But to beintellectually honest, what Brian needs to answer
and what Dave needs to answer tothe people of the GOP across the state
is if he was doing what Iand many others think he was doing,
which is echoing Westboro Baptist Church, insidious God hates fags. If he was
(17:38):
doing that, can't we all agreehe should be gone. And if Brian
believes that, no, if that'swhat he was doing, he should stay,
then then he needs to say thatand explain why and how that doesn't
sink the GOP. You're on theDan Kapla Show. You're listening to the
Dan Kaplis Show podcast. We're talkingabout I'd do this every father Standmother's Day.
(18:00):
The best advice your father ever gaveyou. I've given some of the
best advice I got from my dad. Texter says, my dad said,
buy apple Stock that was in nineteeneighty three or so, so he kicks
himself every day for not doing that. My dad, at a sign above
his desk, said don't put offuntil tomorrow what you can do today.
(18:22):
He was a World War Two disabledvet. And the other great advice was
to always use a moisturizer. See, we didn't get that advice in Chicago
because with the humidity, I mean, they probably sold one tube a moisturizer
a year in Chicago. But whenDan, my dad taught me when I
was little that pain interest was likethrowing money out the window, and it
(18:42):
always stuck with me. So nowwe're taking some calls on that as well.
Another piece of great advice from mydad. If you're grateful, you're
rich, some of the best adviceever. Right Hey, now we'll continue
with Brian. Brian had called theshow on the GOP chair issue. We
(19:03):
have Priscilla Ron's schedule to be withus, another of the really good people
in politics in Colorado. She's acandidate to GOP. Douglas County Commissioner Priscilla
for dougco dot com. Priscilla,Welcome to the Dan Kaplis Show. Hi,
Dan, great to be on withyou. Well, thank you and
day tell everybody what you're up toand listen. We're blessed with audience from
(19:25):
all over the state and beyond. But I understand the issues that you'll face
as Douglas County Commissioner, you knowhave have much broader impact. So tell
people why this race is important andwhy you're in it. Well, it's
really important because the number one issueamongst Douglas County residents are property taxes and
(19:45):
we are suffering under you know, the repeal of Gallagher. So I do
have a plan on my website toaddress property taxes. And also because of
the illegal immigrants crisis that we've beendealing with at the border and now in
the Denver metro area, public safetyis really important. So I am endorsed
by our Sheriff, our DA JohnKellner, and our men and women in
(20:11):
blue who wear the badge every singleday. So I'm really proud to work
alongside our law enforcement to keep DouglasCounty safe. Well, a great group
of endorsements to have, so,Priscilla, right now that the issues facing
county commissioners across Colorado, what aresome of the common denominators with Douglas County
and other parts of the state.Obviously property taxes. Beyond that, what
(20:34):
do you think stands out? Ithink beyond that, well, we do
have a new water commission because wecannot know we're growing and there's so much
development. But water is one ofthe most critical components to developing a community
and it is one of the mostexpensive parts that has These are one of
the most expensive parts of building ahome. So Douglas County actually doesn't have
(20:59):
a water plan. Everyone around us, Denver or Rapahoe County have a three
hundred year water plan. Albert Lcastleall have a water plan. But right
now we have a newly formed watercommission. I'm so excited for them to
present the county commissioners with their firstever water plan to make sure that our
residents have access to safe, affordabledrinking water for many many years to come.
(21:22):
And to Priscilla run our guests andPriscilla tell people that website again if
you would, it's Priscilla for dougcodot com. And that is with the
for Priscilla for dougto dot com.Now tell folks why because in a little
bit about yourself and I know youand I know some of the great things
you've done, but why Douglas Countywill be better off with you as County
(21:47):
commissioner. Well, Douglas County isa conservative county. We are a red
county. All of our county electedofficials are Republican. As you know,
I am the former vice chair ofthe Colorado GOP, is elected twice,
and I've been all around the stateand I've just seen how important local politics
is. We are closest to thepeople. We have the greatest impact on
(22:11):
everyone's lives. I know federal racesand presidential races are shiny and exciting,
but really, if you want tohave impacts on your life, you have
to pay attention who's running locally sothat you can have a great relationship with
your local officials. And so I'mrunning because I live in Douglas County.
I want to keep it special. As Sheriff Weekly always says, it's a
(22:34):
great place to be. We havelow taxes. We want people to come
here and make Douglas County there foreverhome. But we've got to have some
sensible policies and small government. AndI just think one of the reasons Douglas
County is so great is because therehave been people like you who've served in
different positions, and so I reallyhope Douglas County gets to benefit from you
(22:56):
again. Priscilla appreciate the time today. Thank you so much, Dan,
thank you you take care of that'sPriscilla Ron And want to get back to
the conversation we've been having with Brianabout the GOP chair in Colorado. If
you've been out of town or you'renew to the issue there at this point,
I believe twelve different county gops thathave voted to ask for the removal
(23:21):
of Dave Williams as county chair overa number of different things that he's done.
My personal belief, though I'm notan insider, so I don't know.
My personal belief is that there aremany many people actively involved in the
GOP way beyond these twelve counties whowant to see Dave replace nothing personal.
(23:41):
I'd like Dave personally. I've hadhim on the show at Tony won't come
on on this issue, which Ithink tells you everything you need to know,
but it involves a number of differentactions by Dave. So Brian has
called up to challenge man that whichI'm always grateful for. So we'll get
back to Brian on that, butbefore we let me preface it with this,
(24:02):
because if you're new to the issue, and I'm sure you've got a
busy life, so this isn't theonly thing you're thinking about. In my
mind, there is an absolutely criticalstarting point and that this act alone not
only justifies but requires removal of Dave'sparty chair because what I believe, my
opinion, is that Dave chose toput out a statement on behalf of the
(24:26):
GOP that I believe was intended toecho one of the worst hate groups in
America that calls itself Westboro Baptist Church, and it's a group that celebrates the
killing of American soldiers. It goesto their funerals and pickets and celebrates the
killing of that soldier while the familyis watching the casket be brought in.
(24:49):
That's how evil they are, inmy opinion. And so what I believe
is that when Dave chose to postthis picture to send out under Colorado GOP
banner, this picture of what's supposedto be Jesus, I guess, with
lasers coming out of his eyes anda Pride type flag behind it in the
word God Hates Flags. What Ibelieve is that Dave was intending to echo
(25:17):
the Westboro Baptist Church motto God HatesFags. That insidious motto is even their
web domain, god Hates Fags dotcom. So my belief is that that's
what Dave did here, And ifI'm right, then I would think any
reasonable person could agree that at thatpoint Dave must go. Now we've invited
(25:37):
Dave on the show, so wecan ask him about this. Do I
have that wrong? If so,what did you mean by God Hates flags?
And is it just a coincidence thatit seems to echo the God Hates
Fags from Westboro Baptist Church and thenyou also say God hates pride and that's
also on the Westboro Baptist Church website. Is all this a coincidence, Dave?
(26:00):
Or did you intend to echo them? So that's why this is such
a critical starting point. Now,the last person to come on the show
and want to defend Dave just saidthey'd never heard of Westboro Baptist Church so
they couldn't comment on this. Tome, that's stunning. But I don't
think anybody anybody should drive past thispoint. So when we come back,
(26:22):
and we'll do it right after thebreak, I'm going to ask Brian to
address this, and I'm going toask Brian a simple question that I think
fair minded Coloradden should ask themselves ifif I'm right, and it's others saying
the same thing, it's not justme who suspects this is what Dave was
doing. If I'm right about that, can we all agree that in and
(26:42):
of itself, that act means Davecannot continue his party chair. So we'll
come back and we'll start with thatwith Brian. You're on the Dan Kapla
Show. And now back to theDan Kaplis Show podcast. A lot of
great text on the best how viceyour father ever gave you. I love
doing this segment before Father's Day,saying before Mother's Day, Dan, we
(27:06):
are dirt poor, hard working, willing to help anyone in need. Dan
frequently reminded us that if we gotin serious trouble, we were on our
own because he could not afford tobail us out, and goes on to
say about what a great influence thatwas on them. So Brian and Arvada,
thank you for bringing in there.Brian and Brian's challenging my belief that
Dave Williams needs to leave his countyas a GOP chair in Colorado. So,
(27:30):
Brian, if I'm correct, andmany others have said the same thing,
because I think it's a pretty obviouspoint. And if Dave was intending
to have the Colorado GOP echo WestboroBaptist Church, they're insidious. God hates
fag's motto when he posted and emailedto the GOP across the state, God
(27:52):
hates flags. Would you agree atthat point he cannot continue as party chair?
Well, I can't agree on anassumption. You're making an assumption.
I want to know about the contentof what he said, about what he
said after that that you disagree with. Okay, here's what we're going to
(28:12):
do, Brian, because I encounteredthis tactic that you're employing the other day
with somebody who called to try todefend Dave and on this point, which
is obviously indefensible, they just didn'twant to discuss it, so they found
a hundred different ways not to addressit, including claiming they'd never heard of
Westboro Baptist Church. So making anassumption so I can't address I'm asking you
(28:37):
a hypothetical. If in fact that'swhat Dave was doing, do you agree
that he cannot continue his chair.Well, I have no reason to believe
that he's involved in this church inany way. I mean, this is
just I said. Dave Williams neversaid I'm glad that military people got killed.
(29:03):
Knowledge that. Well, I'm notsaying you're you're you're trying to you're
trying to mix apples with oranges. No, no, no, no no.
And what he's actually saying. Whatwhat I'm going to do is and
Brian's a regular colony does this.So I'm just going to put him on
pause there. First of all,if you're new to this segment or if
you weren't with us in the priorsegment, I never said or suggested that
Dave Williams would celebrate the death ofUS soldiers, not at all. What
(29:30):
I said is that I personally believeit's my opinion that when Dave decided to
issue on behalf of the Colorado GOPthis visual saying God hates flags, my
personal belief is that he was intentionallyechoing the insidious God Hates fags motto of
(29:52):
Westboro Baptist Church and so we've invitedDavon repeatedly to ask him whether that's what
he was doing. And I I'mnot the only person who believes he was
doing that. Many others believe thatas well, and they've said so publicly.
And if Dave is to say,oh, no, that's not what
I intended, then, as Daveknows, we'd want to ask him,
well, then what did you meanby God hates flags? And then how
(30:14):
do you explain your other a postyou made on behalf of Colorado GOP God
Hates Pride when that's also depicted onthe Westboro Baptist Church website. So that's
why we're talking about this because Iwould think any reasonable person would agree that
if I'm correct, and if othersare correct, that that's what Dave was
doing, there's no way he couldor should continue as party chair. That's
(30:40):
why his defenders want to escape pastthis point and don't want to address it
now. Westboro Baptist Church is sohateful that, as I was pointing out
earlier, this is an organization thatcelebrates the death of American soldiers and pickets
that the funerals of American soldiers. And of course I know ever suggests that
Dave would do either of those. But if in fact he was aligning the
(31:06):
Colorado GOP with a group that's mottoas God hates fags and pickets the funerals
of American soldiers, can't we agreethat in and of itself he should no
longer continue? So obviously I've askedBrian a fair hypothetical. If that's what
Dave intended, can we agree thathe should be gone? Now? I'll
(31:27):
ask Brian again to address it,and if he won't, we'll just have
a polite under the conversation. Butwhat we cannot do when we're discussing an
issue as weighty as this is allowBrian or anybody else attempting to defend Dave
to just avoid this question. Thisquestion is at the heart of the issue.
(31:48):
So, Brian, I know you'renot agreeing with the underlying assumption,
But if it is true that DaveWilliams, as party chair was echoing the
message of Westboro Baptist Church, wouldyou agree he should be gone at that
point? Yes, if he agreeswith all the views a Westborough church,
(32:09):
I agree he should be gone. No, No, that's not like Brian.
I'll put Brian on pause because againnot trying to be rude, Brian
does this all the time. Thatwasn't my question, and I'll go back
to Brian. My question wasn't ifhe agrees with all the views of Westboro
Baptist. If Dave Williams as partychair was intending to echo the insidious God
(32:30):
hates fag's motto of Westboro Baptist Churchin this publication that he put out on
bef of the colerad or GOP.Would you agree that he should be gone?
And it's fine for you to sayno, but I just want to
know your position. Would you agree, Brian, if that's what he intended.
(32:50):
Well, it's a big word,right, it's an assumption. Right,
Hey, have a great weekend,my friend. We love Brian,
we hope he calls often. Butsee, this is what Dave's defenders are
doing. And I think personally, this is why Dave, who's been on
the show many times and he's beentreated so well on the show, that's
why Dave won't come on the showbecause he can't answer these fair, tough
questions. And once it's established, and I think there are many people who
(33:19):
agree with me that in my opinion, that's clearly what he was doing.
Once it's established, once somebody believesthat that's what Dave was doing, then
everybody would have to agree. Hecouldn't continue his chair. You can't have
a party chair who is echoing thatthe hateful messaging of Westboro Baptist Church.
So was Dave doing that? ObviouslyBrian doesn't want to give a direct answer
(33:44):
to that hypothetical, but I hopeDave comes on. He says that those
who oppose him are weak and he'sstrong. Well, for twenty five years,
this show has been the most friendlyand fair place to Republicans of all
stripes, and the track record showsthat. So Dave being afraid to come
(34:06):
on this show, how weak isthat? Great job Brian Kelly as well.
Have a tremendous Father's Day
