Show. Please be sure to giveus a five star rating if you'd be
so kind, and to subscribe, download, and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. That monster who took those innocent lives
and caused all that lifelong misery downat Club Q was sentenced appropriately in federal
(00:25):
court to many more terms, etc. But one way or the other was
going to spend the rest of hislife in jail. But this disrespect for
the victims. I hope people neverforget that. Think about that, the
governor of the state of Colorado, the governor of the state of Colorado,
delaying days before going down there, and then when he went down, went
(00:46):
down for kind of a as Iremember it, a quick late afternoon drive
by kind of thing. Yeah. So, people of Colorado, regardless of
your sexual preferences, etc. Ihope they remember what Jared Polist did there.
It's just such a true reveal ofwhat's really going on, and it's
it's it extends in my view throughoutthe Democratic Party, not to all,
(01:11):
but too many, you know, who want to play identity politics. And
reap in you know, the votesof you know, the gay people and
trans and all this and that, but in terms of actual real life respect,
Hey, that was a moment ofchoosing, and polists chose to ignore
eight five five for zero five Atwo five to five the number his defenders
(01:34):
will claim, Oh he had COVID. Well, guess what I used CORA.
I did the public records search. He was back at work from his
COVID. Actually he was on airdoing other stuff, but he was actually
back in the office a few dayslater, and then waited days before going
down to Colorado Springs and again thenjust did a little drive by and Biden.
(01:55):
I can't remember Ryan. Did Bidencome out to Club Q, did
he visit? Did he his respects? No, he's sent a surrogate though,
as I recall, Yeah, andyou know who couldn't make it that
day, or to be more precise, didn't make it that day, Jared
Polis. That's correct, he hadCOVID. We were told no, no,
(02:15):
no, no, no post COVID. When when Admiral Levine came out
and right right, no, no, this is post COVID. As I
recall, I'll double check during abreak but one way or the other,
Jared Polis didn't make it down whenAdmiral Levine came out. So yeah,
let's just talk about what's real andwho really shows respect and who doesn't eight
(02:38):
F five for zero five eight twofive five the number text d A N
five seven seven three nine, Andall I'm saying is this. And obviously,
as a conservative and just a thinkingperson, I have major policy differences
with many of my friends in thegay community, trans community, whatever,
major major policy differences. But whenit comes to individual human respect and courtesy,
(03:02):
I've been absolutely a hunter, perconsistent over the years. But look
at the Left and look at theirhypocrisy, and in a moment like the
horrific Club Q shootings, it wason full display, starting with your Governor
Evan in Denver. You're on theDan Kaplas show. Welcome, Yes,
sir, a great show. Idon't catch it as often as i'd like
to. I know your main topictoday is sounds to Trump handle himself during
(03:27):
the suppose that upcoming debates. Really, all I can say about that is
played as straight as possible, emphasideswhen he got done, when he was
in, and renewed energy, whenhe's in there. Great call, my
friend, Thank you. I thinkthe question Ryan is, and I've framed
this many moons ago. Does PresidentTrump care more about getting a second term
(03:52):
or does he care more about grievances? And Lord knows he has the right.
He has been so persecuted in somany different ways. Some things he's
brought on himself, but for themost part, he has been so unfairly
persecuted. And we've been through thelist before. I won't repeat it now.
So just as a human, hey, I would understand it if he
(04:13):
misused that time to pull a festivusand just a bunch of grievances. Zero
percent. If he cares more aboutgetting a second term, we won't see
any of that. There's a zeropercent chance of that happening, Dan,
And I'll tell you why. Thinkabout everything he's been through, everything he's
been subjected to, through this rampup to another run for president that he
(04:33):
didn't have to do. So he'smade it this far. He might as
well win the damn thing. Andhe wants to win. I think,
like you said, I believe thathe believes this, Dan, that winning
will be his best revenge. Winningin and of itself one hundred percent true.
Then the question becomes self control. And I believe like you that we
(04:55):
will see the a Trump on thetwenty seventh, But it becomes about self
control. And we're all human, right, and so given everything he's been
there, think about it, thinkabout the human piece of this. You
can never take the human piece ofthis out when he is on the same
stage, When he is on thesame stage with this line that this really
(05:16):
nasty, awful line, jealous littleman who has misused the justice system to
try to jail Donald Trump and hasdone all of these other despicable things,
when you're actually in the same room, just feet away from the guy who
is still trying to force you todie behind bars. Yeah, it's easy
(05:41):
from the comfort of a radio studioto say what Trump should do, but
he's still human, and when he'sin that situation, yeah, it's going
to be very hard to rein thatin we all agree on what he should
do. If somebody disagrees, giveus a call eight five to five for
zero five eight two five to five. The number text DA N five seven
seven three nine now today And obviouslythis is a profound issue in Colorado,
(06:02):
and this goes to the question Iposed before the break. We see this
big surge of support people of colorthis big move to Donald Trump, and
it doesn't have to be that biga move to seal the election for him.
But how about Colorado? Is thatthe best hope for the GOP to
turn things around statewide in Colorado isa significant shift in the votes of Latinos
(06:27):
and Blacks in Colorado to Colorado statewideRepublican candidates. Is that realistic? Is
that something that can be attained? Now we tie that into obviously the catastrophe
at the southern border, which isby design and by choice to get in
more Democrat voters. And now wego to yet another horrific story, absolutely
(06:47):
foreseeable on the part of Joe Bidenand all the other lefties who opened the
border, absolutely foreseeable. And it'sof way too many and one would be
way too many where you have anAmerican citizen so often a woman you know,
brutally killed and awfully often sexually assaultedby somebody who came here illegally,
which is not a reflection on theoverall population of folks who come here illegally,
(07:12):
but simply acknowledges the reality that ifyou are going to open our borders
along with everybody else, you're goingto get a significant number of people who
are flat out rapists and murders. It's not a reflection on the majority of
people, but it is an unacceptablerisk. And this is what I think
voters understand at this point, andthey're feeling and they're living. Every single
(07:35):
crime by an illegal immigrant is apreventable crime. Every single murder by an
illegal immigrant is a preventable murder.Every single drunk driver illegal immigrant, drunk
driver who kills somebody on the roadway, that's a preventable crash. And any
decent society would say, we've justgot to prevent that. It doesn't mean
(07:58):
no immigration, it just means nowwe legal immigration. Here's the latest this
out of Maryland. This is SheriffJeffrey Gawller. Rachel was not his first
victim. And it's my understanding thatthis suspect, this monster, fled to
the United States illegally after committing thebrutal murder of a young woman in El
Salvador a month early in January oftwenty twenty three. Once in our country
(08:24):
and likely emboldened by his anonymity. He brutally attacked a nine year old girl
and her mother during a home invasionin March of twenty twenty three in Los
Angeles, and as everyone I believeis aware, that was our first DNA
match linking Rachel's case to the LosAngeles case. It has been a fear
of mine that once we identified thissuspect, the result would be exactly this.
(08:48):
And then the sheriff goes on toaddress Biden directly. But you know
the names, and there are somany names we don't know because there are
so many people. This is beingonto, but I do not believe the
voters are going to forget, whichleads us into what I really want your
thoughts on at five twenty one,and that is Biden today announcing amnesty for
(09:11):
a very large group of folks hereillegally, folks married to US citizens.
Do you agree or disagree with massamnesty for those married to US citizens,
those here illegally who are now marriedto US citizens? Here on the Dankapla
Show and now back to the danKapla Show podcast, we're talking about,
(09:33):
among many other things, the tengreatest Coloradens ever and who would be on
your list textda N five seven seventhree nine or throwback give us a call
eight five five four zero five Atwo five five the number top of our
list. Here, we've got KendrickCastillo, We've got Dave Sanders, and
(09:54):
you know, but I have somany others in mind. I just don't
want to I just don't want towait this thing, right. I mean,
we start with the obvious, youknow, Kendrick Sto, Dave Sanders,
Jack Phillips. But then where doyou go from there? Are there
any politicians who should be on it? Any sports figures who should be on
it? I think there absolutely hasto be a sports figure on it,
(10:16):
right, just in terms of enjoymentof the state, and sports in a
unique way pulls people together from everydemo and everything else. We all know
that. So yeah, yeah,I would think you'd have Elway on there,
even though he botched the GM thing, and you know, Ran Tea
bought a town vastly underrated as aquarterback. And I could still remember where
I was when the news came onthe radio that Elway had been traded to
(10:41):
the Broncos, and it was thatwas I think the defining moment in Colorado
sports. History. When Elway camehere and as Hall of Famer and all
that stuff, he was so muchbetter than the credit he gets for it.
You compare him to modern day quarterbacks. Just play some of that tape,
watch him throw the ball in toughness, the way he could scramble.
(11:01):
Vastly underrated among the greatest quarterbacks ofall time. Joe Sakic, Boy,
he's a big one, there's noquestion. But I think always unique category
in the Yeah, and Sack it'sjust a great human, just a really
cool guy. But but yeah,no, I think, oh, he'd
be right up there right, thegreatest basketball player in the world. But
(11:22):
if you're talking about impact on Colorado, right, Colorado as a community,
a broader community, and because listen, I think the Broncos just have had
that unique place in Colorado history interms of pulling people together. And it
goes back to a story. I'llbet you nobody in our audience knows this
true story, even you and andyou're you're literally like a walking Wikipedia,
(11:46):
right and and but can you tellme what happened when stadium expansion was put
to a vote in Colorado. Imean, the Broncos were going to leave
that This is when the NFL orwhatever they used to call it, NFCAFC
(12:07):
whatever, we're going to merge. And so at that point the question was
whether with Denver would keep a team, and the new league said that Denver
could own. The NFL said Denvercould only keep a team if it expanded
Mile High, had to expand thestadium. Put it to a vote of
the people. The people said no. The people voted down the bond to
(12:31):
expand the stadium. So the DenverBroncos were going to leave. You know
what happened next. You know whathappened next? Yep, Bronco fans took
to the streets collecting money at streetcorners. They went door to door.
They had bake sales literally and raisethe money grassroots in the streets, raise
the money to expand the stadium andkeep the team. I mean, so
(12:56):
the Broncos, I think I've hadthat unique history. As we talk about
who the top ten, a Textersays Whizzer, White Boy, that you've
got to have Whizzer on the list. Byron White, Supreme Court Justice John
Kennedy's only Supreme Court appointment. Sothank you for that texture absolutely Byron Wizard
White would have to be on thelist. I am told Ryan. I
(13:18):
don't know if this is true, but I am told that he and I
are the only two term student bodypresidents at SEU. I don't know if
that's true or that good company tobe a well. I that's the point
I was trying to make. ButI was part of a try executive my
first term. Then I was electedsole student body president the second term up
at CEU. But had the incrediblecool experience of watching a buff game with
(13:43):
Justice White. That's awesome. Hehad no idea who I was. It's
not about me. I went withanother friend of mine and those two were
great buddies, and I got totag along and watch the game with him.
Dan Bill Armstrong. Somebody suggests, yes, Senator Bill Armstrong, if
you were going to have a politicianon that list, boy, he would
be right up near the top.And again, just a great human,
(14:07):
another great human who contributed in somany other ways including president of Colorado,
Christian University, great man of faith, etc. But I want to hear
from you on all of this.Of course, Ralph Carr, governor of
Colorado. You've got a courthouse namedafter him, and he stood up so
courageously to the mistreatment of Japanese peoplein Colorado. So yeah, Ralph Carr
(14:31):
very worthy. Dan. How aboutEllis Meredith, known for championing women's right
to vote that from Kimberly. Areyou familiar with Ms? Meredith? Doesn't
listen. Somebody who's on the topten, maybe somebody none of us ever
heard of, but by virtue oftheir accomplishment, should be in the top
ten greatest Colorados Thomas Sutherland YEP,man of humility and faith, who held
(14:54):
no anger toward his guards who heldhim hostage. Wow. I haven't thought
about him in a lit long time. That's a great, great point.
Positive attitude was a true inspiration.Dan. I love John Denver's music,
but he was a pot smoking Marxist, possibly a Roswell Alien. Don't don't
honor him with the mountain. No, we're talking about honoring Jack Phillips with
(15:16):
a mountain when Trump gets his secondterm, because we know the lefties in
Colorado will will never honor him theway he should be. Here's a great
suggestion, Dan. Definitely. DannyDeets, Navy seal patriot. Yeah,
and that's I mean, what agreat challenge when we're talking top ten,
and we'll go to the phone lines. Will in Pueblo. But when we're
talking top ten, could you couldhave a top one hundred just filled with
(15:41):
a handful of the men and womenfrom Colorado who died for this nation,
you know, be they from armedforces, be they from police, be
they from fire. So do youchoose one or two if you're doing a
top ten to symbolize the rest?I mean, how do you do that
if you putting together a top ten? Jack Swigert another suggestion the astronaut right,
(16:04):
and we've all seen Apollo thirteen andthen he tragically died of cancer just
after being elected to Congress. Stillthe best statue I've ever seen the statue
India, the best done statue theone of Jack Swigert, which they stuck
down in the basement. Will inPeblo, you're on the dan Kapla show.
Welcome right after the appreciate you takingmy call on the subject of offering
(16:30):
immunity to those people that are marriedto American citizens. Yes, I think
that's an okay issue with three caveats. Number one, they have to be
married. Of course, when theamnesty is given. Number two, they
have to actually be and act likea married couple, shared accounts, share
this or something. It's not justsomething so they can get their Does that
(16:52):
mean sex or no sense? Well, that's that's up to them. I'm
no, No, it's a badjoke. Was it being literal? I
think the third caveat needs to beif they they have to be married for
at least ten or some odd numberof years prior to the divorced. After
(17:19):
that period of time, their amnestygoes away. Wow. What a great
way to start the conversation. Thankyou will when we come back. What
do you think Biden's mass amnesty forthose married two citizens? Interesting thoughts?
Should you have to be married Xnumber of years if you then get divorced?
Is it you're out of here?Wow? And ten greatest Colorado's in
(17:40):
history. We're getting so many othergreat suggestions. I'll get to those after
the break as well. Text eAn five seven seven three nine. You're
listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcastpluglish many moony few. In my day,
(18:00):
we didn't know what to say whenwe were mad, so we just
made up things like frebooty flu becausewe were idiots, and that's how it
was just a bunch of people flyingout of car windows and their burning pajamas,
shouting into a melon and chewing ontrees. And that's the way it
was. We liked it. Comeon, cheer up, old manure Woody
(18:26):
flu prompt the old man folks.Yeah, yeah, that's a scoop.
I mean that sounds like his debateprep, right, And it just makes
me think to them, how muchbetter the writing was for Saturday Night Live
back then than it is now. It's so lazy now, yeah, it's
night and day. Yeah. Andspeaking of which, talking about greatest,
(18:48):
we're talking about the ten greatest Colorados. We got off on this because we
started the show talking about the greatnessof Jack Phillips, who has stood up
to the secular left in Colorado, which has tried to destroy him repeatedly,
and the secular left drug him backinto courtiers back in the Colorado Supreme Court.
Today he'll join us at five thirtysix. I'm talking about the political
(19:11):
secular left, which the US SupremeCourt is acknowledged has been so hostile to
Jack's Christian faith. So I thinkit's a no brainer. He's in the
top ten Colorado's ever. Obviously,Kendrick Castillo, Dave Sanders right up at
the very top of that list aswell. So who else should be in
the list? We've had these tremendoussuggestions rolling in. There isn't time to
(19:33):
repeat them all here, and thenwe're dual topics. We're talking about mass
amnesty for those married to Americans. The illegal is married to Americans. That's
what Biden announcing today. So doyou agree or disagree with that? The
last caller fascinating suggestions. He saidhe's okay with it as long as you
have to be married for ten plusyears to get it. If you get
(19:53):
divorced, you get booted. Doyou think that should be one of the
conditions? Has to be a realmarriag And then how would you define and
enforce that? So we're getting intoall of that. I do want to
respond to this texture, Dan.I don't know if you've addressed this yet,
because I've just started listening. Didyou hear about the truck driver just
getting misdemeanor charges for killing people beingharry legally and asked to go back to
(20:18):
Mexico? Sixteen times I have heardabout it. I am beyond furious.
We've spent a lot of time preparingfor this topic, and I'm going to
be on it tomorrow, So thankyou Texter for that. Dan. How
about Sully Sullenberger who landed the planein the Hudson River see it Coloraden,
Ryan Kelly, anybody knows Salty Well, if he is, you'd have to
give some serious consideration to that.Dan. Governor Ralph Carru sacrificed his political
(20:44):
career do the right thing. JapaneseAmericans in World War Two agree with you
on him. I think he hasto be in there. I think the
texture suggested Justice White Byron Wizzard WhiteJohn Kennedy's only Supreme Court pick and a
great one. Yeah, I thinkhe has to be in there. I
do think Elway has to be inthere because he had just a unique positive
impact on Colorado sports and the Broncos, kind of uniquely bringing everybody together for
(21:07):
so many years. Dan, doyou know how many qbs the Broncos have
drafted that won a playoff game forthem? It's only one. Tim Tebow
remarkable. I didn't know that stat. I knew that the Tebo had succeeded
at a record level early in hiscareer among all the great NFL great Quarterbacks,
and I had documented that in aop ed piece in the Denver Post
(21:30):
and the Great Colorado Springs Gazette.Dan and Ryan, how about Missy Franklin
in the Great Colorado Athlete category? That from Andy? There's no question about
that. But if we're doing topten Colorado and Zeb, I think it's
one athlete in that category, andI think that has to be Elway.
If you disagree, tell me.We'll get to some more texts there as
well as your calls. Let's goto Are That Colorado. Brian, you're
(21:53):
on the Dan Kapla show. Welcome, Hey you, Dan. I know
you're a talking about immigration, butI want to let everybody know that attorney
general out at Texas, the onethey tried to get rid of, General
Paxton. Mm hmm. I guesshe's Sue in a Catholic organization. I
(22:15):
guess it's called Yeah, it's calledthe Non Yeah. So Brian, let
me ask you. They call ita stash house to be You know,
Brian could turn anything into an antiCatholic bash. It's a remarkableplics don't want
to turn over the record. Whydo you think that is? Speaking of
which, Ryan, did you getthat sound off Simpsons of the different heavens.
(22:38):
There's this great routine on the Simpsonsbetween Protestant heaven, Catholic heaven,
et cetera. We have that soundnow, yeah, but we should play
it for Brian. I know it'smostly visual. Get Brian, Brian,
Brian there. I wake up everymorning thinking I hope Brian calls with some
Catholic height. I need more more. Catholic won't turn over the That's all
(23:00):
they want to know. I justwant to know facts the most. I'm
a religious guy, not this andthat, Brian, who's not turning over
records. You haven't heard about thecase with a G. General Paxton suing
the Catholic Church? Okay? WhichCatholic? Okay, Brian, you're mister
(23:23):
Fax, which is transitions for you, whether you like it or not.
Now going to be a good Catholicand stand up against the battery or not?
Brian, The whining does not becomeyou. I just asked one fact,
Okay, which Catholic church is hesuing? Can you name itsization?
No? No, no, no, you said Catholic Church? Brian,
(23:47):
Which Catholic church is he suing?The answer is N O, N E
right, they're all Dan, Ididn't know that there was different Catholic church.
I know there are different Catholic churches, but they all believe the same
thing. Brian organization has been harboringlegals, been bringing them into this country,
been supporting him, been making directflights there and in g O.
(24:08):
How much more evidence do you need? Dan? What else do you need?
Brian? I need you. Ineed you to help him with the
United States, Dan, Bryan,I need you to tell the truth.
I need you to tell the truth, Brian. So let's start with the
truth. The Attorney General of Texasis not suing any Catholic church, and
(24:30):
he's not seeking criminal prosecution against anyCatholic church. Correct Catholic illegal. It
always starts out fun and then getsit's okay, And Brian's goal in life
is to make me put him onhold, which I really regret doing.
(24:52):
But every Brian call, and I'mnot getting emotional, this is peanut butter.
Every Brian calls starts out the same, it's kind of of fun,
and then it ends very boring becauseas soon as I correct him on his
inaccurate facts, he just starts doingwhat you just heard. Here's the deal.
There is a worthy issue to bediscussed here because there is an allegation
(25:17):
that a nonprofit down there that isCatholic oriented has engaged in actually smuggling people
into the country illegally, and ifthat happened, that would be very wrong
and should not happen. But there'sno Catholic church that has been sued.
It is not what Catholic Charities does. Catholic charities and we have our own
(25:41):
Catholic charities here in Colorado. CatholicCharities is one of the greatest things to
ever happen in America. Denver wouldcollapse and all of Colorado would be in
very, very bad shape if itwasn't for the work of Catholic Charities.
So what Brian's talking about is hebroadly labels an energy that's Catholic oriented that
(26:02):
he claims is engaging in this illegalactivity. If he ever wants to have
a fact based discussion, we shouldbecause there's a clear bright line, right
if any organization, I don't careif they're Catholic, if they're Atheist,
if they're Protestant, if they're Buddhist, if any organization is actively smuggling people
in illegally. That's just flat wrong. No if sands or butts. But
(26:26):
what Brian always tries to do andthen it just gets boring, is I
have to peel away the layers ofthis is in the end, what it
comes down to, as I interpretBrian, is a belief that if you
are helping people once they get here, that that's the same as smuggling them
in illegally. And that just isn'ttrue. Because what I've told Brian in
(26:49):
the past is and I hope youagree with it. If you don't,
please let me know, and I'dlove to have the conversation. But I
think it's inarguable that the whole ideaof the Catholic Church and other Christian churches,
with Catholic Church founding by founded byChrist himself, is hey, do
what I do. Right. It'slike my wife always says, you should
(27:12):
do what I do, and that'sthat's it. It's just Christ saying,
do what I do. And doyou really think if you've got some you've
got some kids, you've got somewoman, you've got some guy there,
and they've come up into this countryand they've come up in illegally, but
(27:33):
now they're here and they're standing infront of you and they're hungry. You
think Christ did say show me yourpapers or take a hike because you don't
have the right papers. Of courseChrist wouldn't do that, so clear bright
line. Yeah, nobody should besmuggling people into this country legally. But
once they're here and they're standing infront of you and they're hungry, damn
all better feed them eight five fivefor zero five A two five five text
(27:56):
d an five seven seven three nineAnd now back to the Dan Kapla Show
podcast. There was none of thisgoing on and living and recouperating today.
Everybody spoiled run. When I wasa boy, we didn't have these video
games. We made up our owngames like chew the bark off the tree.
(28:21):
You one of your friends would finda nice old tree and you start
chewing the skin off of it.And there were no winners. Everybody was
a loser. It rotted your teethand left your tests and scarred and nodded,
and that's the way it was,and we liked it. We loved
it. That's Biden, and that'sa lot more plausible than corn pop,
right, And that's the Biden. You're gonna get on June twenty seven,
(28:44):
the Biden of the State of theUnion. That's the only way they can
have him at all animated. Soyou see that way, even when he
was trying to answer a question fromJimmy Kimmel the video that was released from
that fundraising event in California, andhe just trailed off trying to think about
what Hunter, his son had toldhim, completely forgot completely spaced out.
(29:04):
Dan, He's gone, He's shot. It's over. And everybody can see
that, right, And that's whatI've been saying forever. He's not going
to be their nominee. Hey,we're talking today about ten greatest Colorado's and
it was the discussion of Jack Phillipsback in court today the trigger that,
because I think he's got to bein that top ten list. We have
Kendrick Cassillo, Dave Sanders dead.Dave obviously, you know, gave his
(29:27):
life to save his students at Columbine, the unarmed Dave Sanders, Kendrick gave
his life to save his classmates andteachers at STEM. Jack Phillips just a
biblical figure, right and as onereligious liberty freedoms for people across the country
by fighting the left as they persecutehim in Colorado and then from sports,
(29:52):
I would think you probably just haveone, and that's I think obviously John
Elway, don't disrespect to any ofthe others. I would put this woman
in a category beyond sports. AmyVandykin right, Olympic swimmer one what six
gold medals, I mean, reallyhistoric accomplishments. But I think her most
impressive accomplishment is after she's then paralyzedin an ATV crash. You know,
(30:15):
has just just fought so courageously anddone as much as somebody could possibly do
facing those kind of challenges. Ithink she should be up there as well.
We have so many great suggestions andmany we've covered on the show today,
Dan great Colorad and Dave Logan obviouslyvery very worthy. Dave Logan,
(30:37):
who's doing a show about eight feetfrom here right now, right Yeah,
but in so many different categories,Dave is all of those great things.
Dan top ten, Coloraden's Lieutenant ColonelJames Harvey. Lieutenant Colonel James Harvey,
Dan the brave teachers who lost theirlife trying to save students at Column Bind
(31:00):
that it beat Dave Sanders for sure, and so many stories of heroism.
We've played the tape of Patty Nilson, the brave teacher who went back in
the building to save students unarmed. The janitors who unarmed, you know,
were willing to die to save students. Fortunately they did not die, but
you can bet they're affected for therest of their lives. And the Broncos
drafted Lway and he won a playoffgame. No, sorry, Texter,
(31:22):
they didn't draft Alway. He wastraded to the Broncos. But I understand,
you know, thinking that he mayhave been drafted. He was traded
by Baltimore to the Broncos because Iwas not aware of that tremendous fact we
got from an earlier Texter. Theonly quarterback, according to the Texter I
haven't had time to double check itever drafted by the Broncos who won a
playoff game was Tim Tebow. Andif that stat is true, I mean
(31:47):
Tebow won it with one of theworst teams in football, by the way,
a team that had one of theworst records, if not the worst
record in the NFL for the whatsixteen months before he took over Bill in
Beautiful Centennial, You're on the andKapalist so welcome, Dan, you happened
to be there. I was justthinking about the gentleman that in it showed
why citizens citizens can be armed, dead or registered legatured of gun holders.
(32:12):
Reimber Johnny Hurley from Old Town Hall. Yes, yeah, a hero and
it was a horrible story there. What he did was courageous and then what
happened to him. So sad thatalone, I was so sad. Yeah,
that was that was quite a Hey, thanks to him, A lot
of less people have been you know, been on them. Stop anyway'll let
you go down. Hey, thanksman, appreciate the calls so many heroes.
(32:34):
And listen the fact that we're justarbitrariling now in it down to a
top ten, right, it doesn'tdiminish anybody else, uh, Dan.
Daddy Bruce Randolph, what a tremendoussuggestion. And if you're new to the
area, Daddy Bruce Randolph just thisgreat figure who served so many hungry people
on Thanksgiving, so many homeless,so many poor, just became symbolic of
(32:57):
the best of Colorado. See.I think Daddy Randolph for practical and symbolic
reasons, because he just symbolizes thegood out there and the giving yeah,
I think he's got to be upthere as well. Have we been able
to confirm whether Captain Sully Sullenberger wasa Colorado? And I've never heard of
him as a Colorado, nor thoughthim as a Colorado. He attended the
Air Force Academy, no surprise there. He also earned a postgraduate degree at
(33:22):
Northern Colorado University of Okay. Butdid he live here? I mean,
you've got me as a student andas a cadet right for the Air Force
Academy. What about any of yourtop ten? Would they be from the
business community, like somebody had suggestedSpencer Penrose right, who founded the Broadmare
and everything else. And by theway, this is not paid, but
if you've ever been down to thebroad More, it's like one of the
(33:43):
greatest places in Europe, just droppeddown into the middle of beautiful Colorado Springs.
It's kind of our tenth anniversary, twentieth anniversary, kind of special place,
so well worth a check some day. Brian, you are a great
Colorado, my friend. I don'tthink any of us are going to make
the top or maybe the top tenthousand, but you are a great color
