Breaking during the show, Donald Trump names Fox News personality and two-time Bronze Star recipient Pete Hegseth as the next Secretary of Defense. Dan and Ryan discuss the boldness of this choice.

STATEMENT FROM PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP:

"I am honored to announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in my Cabinet as The Secretary of Defense. Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice - Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down. Pete is a graduate of Princeton University, and has a Graduate Degree from Harvard University. He is an Army Combat Veteran who did tours in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. For his actions on the battlefield, he was decorated with two Bronze Stars, as well as a Combat Infantryman’s Badge. Pete has been a host at FOX News for eight years, where he used that platform to fight for our Military and Veterans. Pete’s recent book, “The War on Warriors,” spent nine weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list, including two weeks at NUMBER ONE. The book reveals the leftwing betrayal of our Warriors, and how we must return our Military to meritocracy, lethality, accountability, and excellence. Pete has also led two Veterans Advocacy organizations, leading the fight for our Warriors, and our great Veterans. Nobody fights harder for the Troops, and Pete will be a courageous and patriotic champion of our “Peace through Strength” policy."

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Dan Caples and welcome to today's online podcast
edition of The Dan Caplis Show. Please be sure to
give us a five star rating if you'd be so kind,
and to subscribe, download and listen to the show every
single day on your favorite podcast platform. Let's the celebration continued.
Glad you are here, and I expect it's going to
continue for a very long time because I expect a

(00:21):
lot of very good things to come. And we can
see that now with the start that President Trump is
off to. And remember I mean a privately funded transition
team working for a long time now, and you can
see why I mean, think of the advantage of this
second term, because you learned all the lessons in the
first term, and then you had four years to think
about what worked and what didn't and what you would

(00:43):
do if you got that shot again. And you can
tell that that Trump's a man in a hurry. He's
he's going to do this right, so love what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Doesn't mean that each and every pick is the number
one person I would have chosen. But none of us
are going to be able to look at any pick
and say we agree with that person on everything. But
the point is really high quality across the board. Clearly
Trump has in mind where he's going and putting in
place people to do it. I apologize for the way
I sound. I'm fighting some kind of bug. Say a

(01:13):
prayer for whoever just does the next show after me.
He has to talk into the same mic. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Well, luckily there's a big gap in time between you
and Michael Brown at six am.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
So oh yeah, yes, say a prayer for Michael. And boy,
he does a great show. He really does. If Denver
Area six thirty kitsch a w in the morning's Michael Brown.
You don't want to miss that. I love it every morning,
all right. I want to get to the phones, and
I will get to the phone shortly. But so many
great texts, and this first one gets into something real
important beyond just kind of the fun of it, And

(01:43):
that is, at what point does raising money for a
campaign and then paying significant money to elites who are
your friends turn into money laundering? Why did Kamala pay
Oprah one million to interviewer now five hundred thousand donated
to Al Sharpton's nonprofit dot org that refers to every
but he knows the Oprah story and that money I've
seen that the published documents that show the payments to Harpo,

(02:06):
you know, her production company, two five hundred thousand dollars
payments this story. Harris's campaign donated five hundred KI to
l Sharpton's nonprofit before Softball MSNBC interview came in two
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars payments, one on September
five and one on October one. Now you would expect

(02:28):
at this point that MSNBC would just can Sharpton right
for for not making that disclosure, not making that public disclosure,
and it just confirms what you already knew. Abou Kamala Harris.
So I won't take your time with that at all.
But for unless he made it, Unless he made that
disclosure at some point, I'm just not aware of it.
But it would seem like a termination type of fence

(02:50):
if if an organization he was affiliated with was getting
that kind of money from her campaign and it was
not disclosed. But how pathetic that she had to be
buying all this love from celebrities, which obviously wasn't gonna
work anyway. Some more texts Dan, it amazes me that
Mary matt linn now a libertarian since sixteen, is still

(03:11):
married to James Carville. But God blessed them that from Andy.
Yeah you know, but I mean as a guy, I've
been married thirty years to a Democrat. I'm told recently
became unaffiliated. So I know that dynamic and there are
ways to navigate it. Yes, yes, I just she still
is on another continent. She left the morning of election day,

(03:33):
flew out of the country. She did the same thing
in sixteen, eventually came back, and hopeful she will eventually return.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
I just love that you only had that information on
reports from Carolina.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, but can I get your advice
on this? And we have such great animal wisdom in
our audience, and then I'll get to the phone calls.
We have been blessed with this amazing We have big dog,
little dog, medium dog, all these great dogs. Amy's out
of town for Lord knows how long I've got the dogs.
I love dogs. I got a dog who literally sleeps
on top of me at night. Caroline's big dog, who's

(04:06):
an amazing creature, amazing, wonderful dog. But she'll get into
bad and just you know, kind of lay on top
of me. I'm okay, with that, I love animals. The
little one has been amazing and won a battle with
a coyote and all that good stuff. A fantastic dog.
But now she literally people years, is like one hundred
and twenty and so she only does two things all

(04:28):
day all night barks or goes to the bathroom on
the carpet. So yeah, I mean that's all she does,
like all night how and she never takes a breath.
So does anybody have a solution?

Speaker 3 (04:44):
And I think the barking might actually bother me more
than the going to the bathroom in the carpet.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
It'll drive.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
And I've tried putting her in every room like the
back corner of the basement and everything else, but the
carpet stuff, Oh my lord. Yeah, I mean I've got bag,
no services, I mean not even on speed dial. They
just live. They're in a truck out in front twenty
four to seven. Oh boy. Yeah. So if anybody has

(05:09):
any suggestions, and don't suggest putting her down. Yeah, we
just can't do. I mean we would we would all
be living in a tent before we would put her
at nothing nothing the moon nothing, yeah moon, but but
but just a great heart tremendous dog. Let's go back
to the phone lines, Doug in Frederick. You're on the

(05:32):
dan kaplos So this morning I thought a coyote got her,
and I thought, okay, that didn't do Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Doug, the older dogs. We've had a lot of dogs.
We had a small one like that. But uh kind
of got that way. But wasn't that bad. But that
actually put on anxiety medicine.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Anxiety medicine. Wow, oh they'll do that for dogs something cats.
Will that lead to more carpet problems for me?

Speaker 5 (06:05):
I don't know. I didn't with us, but anxiety medic
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Well, hey, no, no, no, I Hey, Doug, thank you.
That's a great suggestion. Because listen, if she wants to
spend like she's in her one hundred and thirties now,
if she wants to spend each day in a blissful high,
I'm okay with that as long as she isn't.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Ye happening exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
I'm in my sixties. I can't imagine I was writers
to one hundred and twenty or thirty.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
She's like a greas frigging pig. You know, she's going
to the bathroom over here, and I'm trying to get
her out in the yard and it's like chasing a
grease pig around. She's found a fountain of youth somewhere.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
Your dog.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Yeah, I'm sure they'll they'll tell me.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
No, that's a great suggestion. I'm going to call the
vet tonight, whether they like it or not. Yeah, but
thank you for that. That's good.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
But hey, a couple of things now, I'd read an
article today finally from the Hill. Maybe, but uh, I
bet we have the House now to nineteen to two
ten with we're waiting on six seats. Is that correct,
because they've been really hiding this.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, I know. The big let me try to find
the current number as of this hour. The big concern
with the House is all the people going into the
Trump administration.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Yeah, but I just I just hope him prior to
work two nineteen because we'll be at least three ahead.
So yeah, you know, i'll sleep, I'll leave here. I
don't I just don't trust him. Yeah, I don't know
if you have the.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Numbers, you know.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry to interrupt this now, but Ryan,
I assume this is you see this headline on Fox
Trump names Pete Hegseeth as Defense secretary. Really, I assume
it's not a gag headline.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
I kind of love it if that Foxy guy, Yeah right,
I mean he's served.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah. Are you seeing that same news, Doug, sir.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
No, I haven't seeing that. Yeah. I was asking about
two other things.

Speaker 7 (08:03):
Go ahead.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
The House counts really got me two things. And I
know you guys are busy and you keeping track all this,
and I work so much that when I sit down
on the weekends, I really kind of catch up on
all these I'm gonna catch up on all these nominations.
I want to see what you thought about Lee's elder
in New York for the EPA. And I also want
to see if you've heard anything or anything about what
Elon musk Roll is gonna be. Is there going to

(08:24):
be like a new a new uh you know, uh
uh this and created where he's going to really kind
of get take things on as far as cutting government programs.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
You know, I almost hope Doug that he doesn't have
a formal title or boundaries. I just like a guy
that's smart, and I'm sure he and I disagree on
some issues, but a guy that's smart who seems to
be on the conservative train, you know, just as a
general advisor to Trump. So I'm not sure i'd want
to see him a pigeon hold in a particular job.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
Okay, great, good, that's good.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
I love Elon.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
I think he I don't know without Elon we could
have done what we did with what he did with
twel Oh, yeah, my lord, because then that was resuge
of what happened with your last selection.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
And I think it opened everything up because I, like
I mentioned last night, yeah, yesterday to you radio for Europe. Well,
all these good quality podcasts, this is kind of radio
for Europe, you know, three point zero because we went
around the media. The people did this with no help
from the media.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah, it does. You appreciate that, Caul, Thank you. Though
I agree completely about the importance of Musk buying X
than Twitter. But also I mean, the latest number is
at least one hundred and forty million of the Trump
campaign down the stretch and remember through the packs, so
not a direct contribution. But the Trump campaign only raised
three hundred and eighty eight million, and so Musk spend

(09:47):
at least one hundred and forty million helping him win,
but I think he helped him enormously on the ground
in Pennsylvania. You know, voters, listen, voters want somebody to
fix it right. And the more smart people you have
around you and anybody paying attention knows Elon Musk is
pretty smart. So I hope he's just a regular floating
type advisor. No, this is the headline. Trump names Pete

(10:11):
Hegsath from Fox News as Defense Secretary. So we'll get
your take on that. You're on the Dan Kapla Show.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
And now back to the Dan Kapla Show podcast Human Jeffries.

Speaker 7 (10:25):
I think we're going to have a family conversation that
needs to be clear eyed, candid, and comprehensive. Yeah, to
figure out what happened on election night, why did it happen,
and how do we improve upon the performance in order
to put us in the strongest possible position to deliver
for the American people moving forward.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
I think this is going to be one of those
family conversations that ends with somebody on an nice flow,
you know what I mean. I mean, let's hope the
Democrats aren't able or willing to do what they have
to do right, And they may not be, but at
this point, are they really going to be able to

(11:06):
just turn back and cut loose from this transsanity. And again,
none of this is a reflection on trans people. The
trans people I know are wonderful people. I feel for them.
I feel for what they're going through. It's a very
hard way to live. So none of it is about
individual trans people. But as a matter of policy, to
say their rights trump the rights of women, and somebody

(11:28):
with male organs can prance through a woman's shower and
locker room and play their sports and spike them in
the head with volleyballs and put them in the hospital,
that's just lunacy. Does anybody really see the Democratic Party
cleanly breaking with that? That that'll be the true litmus
test eight five for zero five A two five five
text d A N five seven seventh three nine Yeah.

(11:48):
Pete Hegseth, we.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Got an official statement from Donald Trump himself. Man, this
has been released and it says, I am honored to
announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in
my cabinet as the Secretary of Defense. Pete has spent
his entire life as a warrior for the troops and
for the country. Pete is tough, smart, and a true
believer in America.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
First yeah, so end up Bronze Star winner from Iraq.
So yeah, listen, I trust Trump, and listen, the stakes
are so high for Trump in terms of success and legacy.
He's doing such a better job with this team than
the first team. I trust him. Everything I've seen about
Heck Seth, I like, I've just never thought he was

(12:27):
going to be Defense secretary. But but I trust Trump's
putting in place the people he believes he needs to win,
and I trust that height five five for five eight
two five five text d A N five seven seven
three nine. I do think that I wonder if these
picks are being announced now before the Marco Rubio pick

(12:48):
is formally announced, because there's going to be some blowback
on that. You've got a bunch of people saying, uh,
Neo Khan, you know, warmonger, this, this, that that. And
what I say to those people is, hey, wait, you
want peace, then thank God for Marco Rubio because Donald
Trump is not a pacifist. Donald Trump is a peacemaker.

(13:08):
And the way Donald Trump makes peace is by making
it clear to the enemy that he will go to
war and that if he has to go to war,
he will win. And he took out Solomony, he took
out bad Daddy. Putin didn't mess with him. Putin didn't
go into Ukraine. So that's how we stay out of
wars is the strength of Donald Trump and the people

(13:28):
around him. And Marco Rubio is perfect for that role.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
And just additionally from this statement by President elect Donald Trump,
dan to your point on our military and restoring them
to greatness. And I think this is the predictable push
against the woke kind of weakening of our military, especially
at the top. This is a great sentence here, and
it goes to Trump loving the fact that Pete hag Seth,
he has a number one book, number one bestseller, says.

(13:54):
Pete's recent book, The War on Warriors, spent nine weeks
on the New York Times bestseller list, including two weeks
at number one. The book reveals the left wing betrayal
of our warriors and how we must return our military
to meritocracy, lethality, accountability, and excellence.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah no, and again lots to like. There a surprise pick,
but no reason to doubt it's it's gonna be a
very good one. We'll find out together. But I'm extremely optimistic.
Let me get to some texters, Dan, get rid of
the carpet. Life is much easier and cleaner to my
sixteen point five year old Maltese mix. Keeps me going long,

(14:31):
slow walks twice a day, lover forever. That from Donna. Dan,
this is a fascinating text. Dan, maybe you could hire
Christinome as a dog walker. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Yeah,
and what they're talking about. I asked for advice before
the break. We have this amazingly impressive dog who people
us is probably one hundred and twenty five now, and

(14:52):
so all she does is bark all night and go
to the bathroom in side all day. So I'm looking
for some kind of help. If you eat, she must yeah, yeah, no,
and voracious appetite. Very impressive creature. But it's yeah, just
trying to figure this one out, because truly we will

(15:12):
end up if we would spend every dollar we do
whatever we had to do, replace carpets, which we've done
twice already, all that stuff. We're not gonna put her down.
So I'm looking for suggestions short of a walk with
Christy Nome, What about a diaper? How about this one
h Ryan diaper on the dog. We tried it. Oh,
we tried it for like six months. It led to

(15:35):
a miserable existence and for us, Yeah, I would rather
replace carpets than clean a dog's bottom. Yeah. Yeah, Dan
put her in a kennel with the blanket over it.
Dan get amy a yellow lab named Trump. That from
Alex A pretty good suggestion there, Dan. Unfortunately, she shaved

(16:00):
her head and stop shaving her legs. What is that about?
Any idea? What that's a grif these women are of
any topic that we've well there.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
These women are going on a sex strip.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Yeah, you're not going to do that anymore.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And so they've shaved their heads and they're stopping shaving
everywhere else.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yeah. I didn't think we were talking about that any good.
Glad you're here. I see this other report. But this
is not an announcement, it's it's just a media report.
Trump lawyer Alina Habba front runner for Trump White House
Press secretary. Hey, you could sell the cable rights, you know,
to those White House press collects as if she becomes press.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
She'd be awesome at And I think that's a very
good pick.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
No, that that'd be a lot of fun to watch,
you know, And now that he's dipping into media, maybe
my hoping against hope for that call, that call I
always hoped would come. You offered, Well, I've offered a
lot of things, but but the one call I'd like most,
it'd either be Press secretary. Havn't had the chance to

(17:02):
be up on that stage with nobody else in there.
Just got to walk up on the Press secretary platform
and hang out for a little bit when we went
back there to do the show from the White House
in the first Trump term. But Ambassador to the Vatican,
I think I could do a good job.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
That would be a great role, would be a great gig.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Yeah, if you could get a hold of Don Junior,
let's see what I can do.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Or Eric.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Used to have those guys on the show all the time.
They were great guests. Laura was a great guest, all
of them. Never got Avanka. Do you think Avanka will
now play a prominent role in the second term? She
obviously set out the campaign. There was a time when
I think there were a lot of signs that they
might have been preparing her to run herself. And right now,

(17:46):
how soon before the really active talk starts about Don
Junior succeeding President Trump. I think it's JD Well, Yeah,
and I think that's right, that's where the smart money
would bet. But yeah, I think there's going to be
a lot of Don Junior talk too. Obviously there has
to be a lot of success in the meantime. Every

(18:06):
reason the believes there will be. Hey, when we come
back on to talk about that, and why are we
getting a true, full reliable investigation of Jenn R. Griswold.
You're on the Dan Kapla Show.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
You're listening to the Dan Kaplis Show podcast.

Speaker 8 (18:23):
Attribute to peak Pegsath, the bronze star winner in a
rock who is now going to be the Defense Secretary,
Donald Trump's choice for Defense secretary.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
So the HiT's just keep on coming. We'll keep you
have to speed on that.

Speaker 4 (18:37):
I think that's my favorite pick so far.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
Dan.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
It's a little outside of the box, but when you
think about it, it makes sense. You know, Pete has served
this country honorably. As you said, he's very knowledgeable, smart guy.
Two ivy league degrees, one from Princeton, one from Harvard.
I think this is a home run pick by President
elect Trump.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, and you look for the common denominators, right, I mean,
President Trump wants communicators, he wants people, you know who
who reflect well on the administration and public. They come
across well, they're articulate, they're intelligent, and obviously the people
he believes are going to be loyal to him. And
I understand loyalty to the country and constitution come first, right,

(19:16):
But then you get to the issue of when you
have difference is how you address those And that's what
I mean by loyal to him. So, yeah, I love
the team he's putting together. I understand the Christy Gnome questions.
I have those myself. But then what I revert back
to is just trust in Trump. Trust in Trump that
there's a reason for that appointment. And because there's no

(19:37):
doubt in my mind he is all about winning right
now and winning in a hurry because he understands that
after the mid terms, everybody's looking ahead then to twenty eight, right,
and so he's got this two year prime time window
toperate with. So I don't think he's screwing around. I
don't think he's taking any chances. Dan, in deference to
Joe's vulnerability, why isn't Kamala president. I don't understand that text,

(20:03):
do you.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Ryan, I don't know. Yeah, where that's aiming either.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
I don't get that, but please do let me know
this idea now that Joe Biden's going to step aside
so Kamala can become the first woman president, etc. If
Joe Biden does that, then we know that he is
tired of life on Earth and he is ready to
lead the planet, leave the planet, because he would certainly

(20:29):
he would certainly get killed by Jill right if all
of a sudden, Now, Joe Biden abdicates. Hard for me
to see that coming, because, as I told you, from
the moment that Biden stuck the Democrats with her, he
obviously wanted the people who had humiliated him to fail,
and he guaranteed they fail by sticking him with Kamala Harris.

(20:50):
And he was the only person happy on an election
night than I was. You ever seen that scene from
Risky Business, Ryan, where Tom Cruise he sees in his
stiffy underwear. Yeah, and uh, because I'll tell you that
was me all over the house in election. So because
I had the house to myself, my wife had flown
out of the country in anticipation of a Trump victory. Yeah,

(21:11):
so when did.

Speaker 4 (21:12):
You know it was over?

Speaker 3 (21:13):
Was it when we you and I were talking about Florida,
because that's when I had a very strong feel in
on this show.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
It to me it was later because remember that there
was still some stuff going on in Georgia that concerned me. Sure,
I think for me, that's a great question. I want
to think back on election night. For me, I think
it's when Pennsylvania started to stretch out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(21:40):
So I can't remember the time on the clock because
I was too busy watching ten different screens and dancing
around the house. Yeah, but that's when to me, I mean,
because there's no path for it without Pennsylvania. Right five
five eight two five five, ROSI yell in North Denver.
You're on the Dan Kaplis Show. Welcome, Hello, Dan uh.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
I would like to see Bobby Kennedy Junior as CDC
director h vek Ramaswami as Secretary of Treasury because the
man knows how to manage money. He's going to be
in the set and Dan Bongino, I know he's out
of the game and all, but he knows.

Speaker 9 (22:24):
What's wrong with the secret Service, and I would make
him director of the Secret Service. Make sure he cleans
house and gets that crap washed clean like I clean
the slight. Uh that those would be my.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Mind, Yeah, Rail, thank you. Yeah, Bongino would do a
great job with that. But the chatter today is that
I think his name's current, right, the guy you see
in the photo with Trump standing right next to him
protecting him on the stage, that that he may be
Trump's pick.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Oh that's interesting.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Yeah. And if not him, then boy Bongino, you would
think it'd be perfect. Isn't thea VEC going to get
that appointment in Ohio? To that jd Vance's Senate scene.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
THEVEG has aspirations.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
I know you're not a big fan of his, but
I am, and I know a lot of our listeners
are too. And if he wants a path of the presidency,
I think the smartest, strongest path for him is to
replace J. D Vance appointed by Governor DeWine in Ohio
as a senator from Ohio.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
I think it's a strong position for him to be in.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Yeah, and listen, I've got nothing against the guy at all,
just in the presidential race, just the way that he
was behaving in those debates often, and you know, that
kind of stuff I didn't like at all, just way
too snarky. But there's a lot I do like about him.
So yeah, I think it'd be a great appointment in
that Senate seat Florida. I think it should be Byron

(23:38):
Donald's appointed to Rubio seat. I loves talk of Flora
Trump and I man, I'm a big fan of hers.
But isn't she.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
Arrested in North Carolina? Though, I mean, not that it
would necessarily matter, but I thought she was residing in
North Carolina with her family with Eric.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Right, for some reason, I thought they were back down
in Florida. But you're right, listen, if she's what, you
can't even think about that, even though it might legally fly.
But Byron Donald's picking, I think so just I mean, awesome, Yeah,
it's just such a man of substance, and so yeah,
I think that's a no brainer. But that's Rubio's call, right,
That's not Trump's call, though I'm sure he would call.

(24:14):
Thoughts did I say Rubio's call? Sorry, nostis call, You're you're.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Absolutely I think that Ron DeSantis has a very strong
relationship with Byron Donalds for obvious and myriad reasons. And
to your point, I just think Byron Donalds has been
a voice. He's been rumored to possibly be Speaker of
the House. I remember he was in that conversation. He's
well liked and respected by most of his colleagues. When
I asked Representative Lauren Bobert who her favorite fellow colleague

(24:39):
member of Congress, what was her immediate answer was Byron Donalds.
So he's got a lot of check boxes in terms
of his commitment to the cause.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
And I think you're to your point his ability to
communicate it right.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
I think one concern though, is, and I don't know
enough about exactly how this replacement is going to work
in Florida, is you keep plucking people out of the
House where you have a very very thin majority. You
just have to make sure you're certain to get Republicans,
not only Republicans of their place, but quickly in their place.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
There wouldn't have to be a special election for the
House and in Fort Myers where he is safely read,
so that one wouldn't be a good ye.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
But timing how quickly would it be filled? You need
that margin. You don't want to be sitting around just
subject to the whim of one member of Congress on
the GOP side. So anyway, if you just joined us,
thank you for that. Uh Pete Heexsath from Fox News.
The other Fox News guy has been picked for a
Secretary of Defense. He's a Bronze Star winner from Iraq.

(25:38):
And you know, we keep a CNN screen on one
of our TVs and they're just having a lot of
fun with it, mocking it, showing pictures of him from
just you know, different situations. Nothing at all impuning. But
but I just, you know, because of the TV thing,
Because of the TV thing, I guess I forgot about

(25:59):
run Reagan And yeah, yeah, yes, how ridiculous is that now?
Speaking of which I one thousand percent support Malania's decision
not to go to the White House, and if published
reports are true that it is because of the raid
on mar A Lago, I'm behind her ten thousand percent
because I that is such a personal thing, and that

(26:21):
raid on mar A Lago was so wrong on every
single level that that if that's what's behind it, I
would not falter one little bit.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I think she mentioned specifically and personally they went through
her underwear drawer.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, I mean that's yeah, yeah, yeah, no, that that
ain't right. That's the worst thing I've heard since I
saw Mindy's underwear paraded around the backroom. Do you remember
Morkan Mindy the show.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
I Do took place here set here. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
When I was working in the backroom out of Continental
Airlines at the airport, they used to publish this list
each day of celebrities who were passing through. I have
no idea why they did that.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
For fun.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
We had a great culture in the backroom. We worked
really hard and it was a very gritty job, but
we're tough guys. And and Pam Dauber's name popped up
one day. Bad. I had nothing to do with this, truly,
as God as my judge. Bring in do we have
that stack of bibles like we keep on a wagon?
Roll them in and a polygraph? On the other hand,

(27:26):
I had nothing to do with this. But some of
the guys got a little carried away, and she was
a big star at that time, so they grab grabbed
some Pam Dauber panties and paraded around the backroom with
the panties on their head. That's right, No, it was
not right, not right, And I did not laugh.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Got a cough to death eight five five I would
deserve it eight five five for zero five eight two
five five text d A N five seven seven At
three nine when we come back, we'll review some of
the Trump picks from today and talk about, wait a second,
why isn't paulus why is there? Why aren't they pushing
for a true investigation of Jenna Griswold and that office,

(28:11):
a true independent prosecutor, Not that I think it'll lead
to criminal charges, but just to get to the true
bottom of it and report the truth to the people.
Why aren't they doing that? And I'll tell you how
it's going to come back to hurt the Colorado Democrats
here on The Dan Kapla Show.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
And now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Wow, that was quite a scene, Tom Cruther.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
You should see me. You know, it just occurred to me.
I should I should go check the tape on that
just from cameras, Oh security cameras. That see what they
picked up? Oh yeah, no, she would she would love that.
We were talking about election night and what I did
on election night because my wife flew out of the country,
as she does each time Trump is up for reelection,

(28:53):
and I very much appreciate it because I can celebrate openly,
have the whole house to myself. But I was doing
that Tom Cruise risky business thing, though I would respectfully
submit I looked better doing it. But just saying a lot, Well,
you know, a man can sit on his own jury.
I think he was like forty years your junior in
that state. Oh that's irrelevant, Ryan, Oh completely, It's just

(29:17):
that whole age thing at that a right, not completely irrelevant.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Yeah, we got to get to the tape so that really.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
You know what we need to do. But then on Twitter,
we need to do an I hurt charity calendar right
where we do like some of those swimsuit shots.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
We can get uh, I don't know about that.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
We can get you know, the guys off of KWA
because they got a bunch of the you know, current
and former football players. I'd be happy to be a
part of it. I wouldn't want to hurt their self esteem,
but I'd be happy to be a part of that.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Hangounfidence today.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Got to have confidence, that is, and any woman will
tell you that is. And Kelly's gone right Lucky for
her though, Oh yeah, yeah, quite the trade there. Any
any woman will tell you there there's nothing sexier than confidence.
I agree with that, whether it's deserved, undeserved, placed, misplaced.
You don't want arrogant though, I don't think I think
that's goodness. Oh, that's horrific turn off. Nobody likes that.

(30:11):
But you want to talk about a waste of talent?
Is Shannon Scott? Because Shannon Scott, who is stepping in
for Kelly right now, he would have the greatest talk
show in Denver. He would have maybe the greatest talk
show in Denver history. But he refuses to to do
that once in a while. He'd rather be behind the scenes.

Speaker 4 (30:33):
Well, but with you and me, he'll talk a little.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Oh my goodness, I'm just telling you. I've known Shannon
how many decades now, Shannon almost thirty years that I've
been in front of the mic, and he's been buying
the glass. But he would have the best talk show
in Denver. Let's go to Carol in Denver. You're on
the Dan Kapla Show. Welcome Carol.

Speaker 9 (30:50):
I'll make it quick.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
I know you're getting no.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
No, we're from obviously just.

Speaker 10 (30:58):
Donald Trump had suggested recently that he might consider. Uh, oh,
I'm going to kartline Hunter, he might consider partning Hunter. Yes,
do you say there's any chance he did that because
he caught when that that there was some discussion that
if Kamala did not win a way she could kind
of bribe or her can't bribe Biden into leaving early

(31:23):
so she could be the first female president, that she
would leverage that as an offer to him. You know, Carroll, mean,
Donald just stepped in and thought, I'll just throw that
out there myself.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Interesting, Listen, I don't think it's going to happen, but
I do share your concern that. Wait a second, when
and the White House just insisted again Biden's not going
to pardon Hunter? Well, does that mean? I don't believe
it does that that Kamala Harris is going to become president,
even for a day, and that she's going to execute

(31:57):
the pardon. Would Biden do that just to screw all
the Trump people who bought forty seven hats and now
they'd have to go out and get forty eight hats.
I don't see that happening. I think he says that, Carrol,
because look at what he did with Hillary Clinton, right,
He showed mercy, and I think Donald Trump he wants
first and foremost, he wants to be strong, he wants
to do what he has to do to protect the

(32:19):
country and win. But I do think he wants to
be a unifier, and I think he would love the
opportunity to pardon Hunter Biden. I don't know that he's
going to get it, though, because I think that's gonna
happen before he takes office.

Speaker 10 (32:32):
Wouldn't it be fun though, if because the Biden can't
stand Kamala, if they did decide, you know what I'm
gonna go with, I'm gonna I'm not going to cad
to this bribe. If they have a conversation with Trump
when he isn't he at the White House?

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Yeah, he's at the White House tomorrow. Yeah, he's at
the White House tomorrow.

Speaker 10 (32:52):
I would wonder if that might be a topic of conversation.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
I don't know how many, Yeah, might be.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Yeah, good thing. Thank you for that, Carol. We're toward
the end of the show. Now. My guess is that
kind of stuff might be handled between high level staffers.
Who knows, it might be just part of a direct
private conversation with Biden. Tomorrow. But I think Trump would
love to be the one to pardon Hunter Biden. I mean,
I think there's a distinct chance that Joe Biden is

(33:20):
going to give Trump a pardon he does not want.
But there's a distinct chance I think that Joe Biden
pardons Trump. But it is hard for me to imagine.
I mean, any father in that position, any father, if
they had a chance to spare their son federal prison,
it's hard to imagine that father not taking that opportunity.

(33:42):
So it's hard for me to imagine Joe Biden leaving
office without having exercised that pardon and then just believing
that Donald Trump would do it. Very hard for me
to imagine. But Trump would love to and I think
he'd do it on his first day, don't you, Ryan,
He would pardon Hun her By.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
I think it's a great move politically, just thinking of
it strictly from a left brain standpoint.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Yes, So wow, what an exciting time and so much
reason to believe. You look at all these great picks
so far, that it's going to be a phenomenally impressive
effective administration. And I think I figured out in the
last thirty seconds a long term play with this cabinet
for President Trump, and I'll get into that some tomorrow.
Tremendous job Brian has always Thank you to Kelly DeShannon

(34:26):
Scott as well. Please be safe out there. Join us tomorrow.
