This is deeper in the den withdangerous day. Well, if you're thirty
six, hang on tight, you'rein for a wild ride. If you're
older than that, you know thisis probably true. A new poll found
the average person starts feeling aches andpains at the age of thirty seven.
That's when your back starts to barkat you. You know, your knees
start to buckle a little bit.Back pain actually wasn't the top complaint though

(00:21):
top three. In older Americans,Pain in their legs top the list,
followed by neck and shoulders. Allof those aches and pains are slowing us
down to when we wake up soretakes us an average of seven extra minutes
to get ready in the morning.Twenty eight percent of Americans said they deal
with some sort of chronic pain ona daily basis. Less than a third
of us said they've been totally painfree over the past month. Twenty two

(00:42):
percent said they'd give up social mediato feel fewer aches and pains. Eighteen
percent would give up cheese, twentyfive percent would give up coffee. Why
cheese? Maybe your aches and painproblem is the fact that you're all bound
up deeper in the two well Ifyou woke up this morning on the wrong
side of the bed, you mighthave one or more of these bad habits.
Here are four things you shouldn't doto start your day, according to

(01:03):
the experts. First of all,do not wake up with an alarm.
It immediately causes anxiety. Try todo something more soothing. Studies found waking
up with the radio is much better. You're welcome. Don't immediately try to
solve a problem. That grogged feelingis called sleep in airship. Takes fifteen
minutes to an hour to let yourselfease into the day before you start trying

(01:23):
to solve anything. Don't dive straightinto emails. Reaching for your phone to
read the news is one thing, but you shouldn't be checking your inbox a
second you wake up again immediately stressesyou out. You're not ready to solve
the problems yet. And don't focuson what went wrong yesterday. Try to
start fresh. So okay to lookback and reflect at some point, but
just not first thing. Now,here's four good habits. The experts say

(01:44):
you should add focus on what youwant to achieve and make a list.
It's a good way to organize yourday and your thoughts. Start with some
deep breathing. Meditation is great, but even just stopping and taking a few
deep breaths can calm your mind andset you up for a good day.
Look at something that makes you smile. Think of something that you can hang
in your bedroom that sparks joy, like a picture of a fun vacation or
a piece of art you love.Visual reminders can put you in a good

(02:07):
mood and keep moving. Doesn't haveto be a full workout. Just some
light stretching can get your day startedon the right foot. I was thinking
this morning, being that it's themonth of May, I should go on
a vacation. It's kind of likea vacation, but it's the one where
I may come back, but Imay not too. Again for another episode
