Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please keep deeper in the din with dangerous day in
the Most trends don't age very well. Some of them
are actually harmful or more harmful than others, Like fifteen
years ago when people were wasting time planking literally everywhere
people on social media talking about modern trends that everybody
will regret in ten years. Think about this for a second.

(00:21):
People took it more seriously than just planking. So what
are the things modern trends we're going to regret in
ten years? According to the poll putting our whole lives
on the internet, the worst parts will resurface, Yeah, for sure,
filming kids worse moments for internet clout. They'll also resurface.
Bullying teachers out of their profession. I agree with that.
Devaluing craftsmanship, getting advice from TikTok influencers instead of experts.

(00:46):
Cosmetic surgeries and procedures face tattoos is another modern trend
that people will regret in ten years. Giving their children
unfettered access to technology, allowing children to run the show.
When did we get so soft? By the way, giving
kids really terrible names, people letting go of their privacy,
sending DNA to random companies over reliance on AI, text

(01:09):
generations writing letters, essays, texts, also students relying on AI
to get through school. Anti intellectualism, the proliferation of sports
betting having only fans. The broccoli haircut is another modern
trend people think will regret in ten years buying NFTs.
I think people already regret that now, by the way,
buying cyber trucks, and people painting everything gray, including their walls.

(01:34):
What happened to color? Deeper in the two do you
ever show up at work and think to yourself? What
am I even doing here? I mean literally, there's a
gallop pull out on American workplace. They found out just
forty six percent of employees clearly know what is expected
of them at work. One problem is engagement. Only thirty
one percent of employees reported feeling engaged at work, which

(01:56):
is at a ten year low, and seventeen percent are
actively diss engaged. Even though things have been trending DOWNWAD,
those numbers aren't too different than usual through the twenty tens.
Engagement improved every year before peaking at thirty six percent
in twenty twenty. So why don't we feel engaged? Only
thirty nine percent of employees feel strongly that somebody at

(02:17):
work cares about them, which is a drop from forty
seven percent in twenty twenty, and only thirty percent strongly
agree that someone at work encourages their development, down from
thirty six percent in twenty twenty. So you're wondering what
am I even doing here? You don't even know what
is expected of you at work. Here's a good idea.
Ask someone to it again for another episode of Deeper

(02:40):
in the Den with dangerous Dave light Year.
