Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is deeper in the din with dangerous day. Would
you say you're more injury prone than most? Here's the average.
A poll by band aid brand CURAD found that the
average adult suffers thirty five scrapes and bruises each year,
so we're injuring ourselves right around three times a month.
Kids are more injury prone when you count all the

(00:21):
old injuries. Study found the average American racks up about
four thousand cut, scrapes and bruises over the course of
their life. Most common reasons we injure ourselves we get distracted,
aren't paying attention, general clumsiness, and kitchen related incidents, which
can be related to clumsy We also have plenty of
near misses. Eighty percent of us have almost injured themselves

(00:41):
while using their phone, thirty two percent while walking and texting,
twenty four percent while talking on the phone, in nineteen
percent scrolling through social media. And we're in a store
last night and a woman almost ran right into my
wife with her shopping cart as she was on her phone.
Put your phone down, anyway, here's a last dat The
poll found one in four people worry about people judging

(01:03):
them as weak or sickly if they have a band
aid on. At the other end of the spectrum, one
in eight want to be asked about their injury. Well,
I've got several scars, and you know, some of them
have good stories, because good stories never start with a
salad deeper in the two. All right, let's talk road trips.
There's an annual study of the best states for summer

(01:23):
road trips that just came out. Delaware America's first date
dead last. Not super shocking. It's so small unless you
drive across the whole thing without realizing it. The study
looked at thirty two different factors in three different categories, cost, safety,
and how many attractions and activities there are, things like
national parks, amusement parks, beaches, lakes, and scenic drives. According

(01:44):
to the results, the best state for the summer road
trip this year is Minnesota. Yay. Worst state Delaware, So
Minnesota tops the lists, followed by New York, Ohio, Utah, Louisiana, Florida, Idaho, Texas,
North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Worst as we said, followed by Connecticut,
Rhode Island, Vermont, Montana, Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Maryland.

(02:06):
Louisiana is the cheapest state to road trip in, Idaho
the safest in California had the most stuff to do
if you're wondering the least safe states New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee.
The state with the least stuff to do Vermont, Rhode Island,
and sleepy Delaware. North Dakota, by the way, ranked number
thirty seven on that list. The important thing is get out,

(02:27):
have some fun, and for crying out loud, put your
phone down to it again for another episode of Deeper
in the Den with Dangerous Dave. Right here.
