Speaker 1 (00:01):
Recorded live at the iHeart Studios in Philadelphia's ACTI Markets.
It's serving Surrey yet now here's rage. Well, welcome Philadelphia.
Welcome to Philadelphia. Santa Spiro in the house. I'm rached
with iHeartRadio and we are so excited to have you
here in Philly, no matter how long it is next time,
keep you here longer to get our nails done. You
(00:22):
haven't been able to do anything while you're here yet, No,
just go ahead. But you heard about like the things
you need to do.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Philadelphia is known for their cheese steaks. Oh you said,
what's a cheese steak? You know what this is? Okay,
fry a Sky are you familiar, Philo Brett? Okay. She
came for iHeartRadio's jingle Ball, and I also mentioned cheese
steak to her because it's like our thing. It's literally
just like a seated roll with like well, god forbid.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
You dice sandwich.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
You can't call it a sandwich, no, but but like see,
it's very specific to Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's not like a steak with cheese. It's like there's bread.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
There's cheepieces of bread is essentially what you just said.
But God forbid. You said that to a Philadelphia I understand.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
No, you're as bad.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yes, yeah, well it's it's like a sliced raw, okay,
and bread and there, but I swear it's much more people.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
No, I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
I just want to Yes, you're actually.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
A sliced stay yes, and then cheese.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yes, but it's a cheese whiz so it's not like
cheese slices. It's like melted cheese. So it's just like
a lot more like cheese comfort food.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yes, but there's yeah, I got you, but it's a
steak and.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Cheese yes, correct, chopped onions. Yes, So in Philadelphia we
order it and we say whiz with. So you go
to a cheese steak place, you say whiz with?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
What this is?
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Okay? So my last question I was going to ask
you was what are you What is your like comfort
food after a meal or after a show, like a
post meal, like what's gonna have to be a cheese
This is one hundred percent. I'm going to actually go
out get you and drop it off for you. I
think I have to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I'm so excited I would.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Well, okay, so cheese steak, pray s guy. I mentioned
it to her and she's like, is this a Philadelphia delicacy?
And I was like, the fact that you called it
a delicacy just made us feel so much more elite
than we actually are here in Philadelphia. But thank you
for thinking that.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Wait, yeah, I just think the name's a little deceiving.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
What do you think of when you think of Philly
cheese steak?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Not a sandwich with cheese on it, not no bread involved.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
We're gonna blow your mind, bab I'm exciting.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, I love all of those things.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Well, this is good, Okay, I'm sure.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
I like.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
So, now we have your post show meal ready to go. Okay,
and I'll make sure it's in a good place too,
because there's competition in this city.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, tell me a good place I'll get.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
All right, next time you're in Philadelphia, we're gonna have
a day. We're gonna make sure you're here longer than
just a few hours.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Yeah, But you're on like stages now, which is insane
because obviously your career started on TikTok. How does that
make you feel now? Kind of like transferring your talent
because behind the screens, obviously during COVID we got comfortable
being in our houses performing behind a camera, and now
you're in front of thousands of people. Has that been
an easy transition for you or is that something you're
still navigating.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I think people found me on Ti go By.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I've been making music so I was ten, right, and
I've been performing before. You know that TikTok was like
a thing I knew about, Okay, So like there's a
lot of things to adjust you. But you know, I
think I started before tiktoks Okay, it's not you know,
I don't think it was as drastic as like my bedroom.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
To that, okay, And you knew that you were doing
this from ten years old, so it was like, I
know I'm gonna be on stage.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, you know, I used to sing in pubs. I
used to you know, sing in school. I us do
lots of random things.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
To be honest, but that's how you start sometimes.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Oh yeah, I don't know what was going on, but yeah,
I mean yeah, do you.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Find it difficult because your music is so soulful, You're
jazz inspired, It's very intimate music. So like I was
cracking up because I was watching like a little fun
fact thing you did, and you're like how would you
describe your music in like one word, and you're like miserable.
It's a sad girl music, but like it feels so
good to sing. But is that super personal? And like
sometimes like nerve wracking and you're performing it in front
(04:00):
of people and you're like, oh my gosh, our people
are sad as me.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I don't know if it's no. I think it's just
I've always dealt with it that way. Ye as, I've
dealt with it, you know. That's kind of how I've
like understood the way I feel it is how I
get over things. Yeah, because if you you know, you
write it, you kind of let go a part of it, yeah, honest,
and you put it out and then it's like it's
for everyone else.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
And I wouldn't say nervous.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
I think it's it's you know, it's sometimes I'm you know,
the messages I get and the things I hear people
go through is very is very sad.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah, but probably very karthartic.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
It's cathartic.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, And like just think the way people come together
for music, and I think that's a beautiful thing to be.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Honest, Yeah, it is. And you bring people together with
the music that you give us. It's like therapy, So
thank you for that. You're the therapist we didn't know
we needed but like probably should hire you know, thank you, no,
thank you, Sienna. So now that we're here, I have
some like fun quirky question for you. I want to
get to know you a little bit better. Of course,
like iHeartRadio is riding on die on this hill. Thank
(05:05):
you and thank you, No, thank you because again therapy.
So with that said, I also heard that you kind
of came across down this hill with a happy accident.
You were trying to learn another song.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah what song?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
He mean rhapsody, which also like okay subtleflex.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
But I didn't learn it.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Well, it's okay because you gave us something better in
my opinion. No, no, I can't say that that get canceled.
So okay, you gave us something very close to.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I wouldn't say that either.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
I'm going to guess you up. You gave us a
beautiful song, so you can't say that it didn't happen
by accident, but it is a happy accident. Do you
think your career has any other happy accidents that like
we might not know about happy accident? Yeah, oh, well.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I guess I like dropped out of school sixteen for
rety bad reason.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Go off, queen. Yeah, that's the reason I were we allowed
to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I don't know who.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
I'd probably get in trouble for them, okay, it was
it was producer promises.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Bad vibe. It turned out good, yeah, gratefully.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
So I think everything's I guess a happy accident. You
don't really like I guess you can do things intentionally,
but you know, life takes its course, and you know,
there's many things that have happened in my life that
I just you know, Like I applied to music school.
I like dropped out of my secondary school, okay, to
go to music school. But I was like, so sure
i'd get in. I didn't get in.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I didn't get into my first choice either, and I didn't.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Have any other school to go to. So I was
like emailing everybody. I was like, let me in, yeah, please'm.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
I promise you now, I don't even need you.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
No I did they let me?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Oh great, yeah, I'm.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
They didn't need it. They did let me the rest.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Wow, But you took the initiative, you made the effort,
and hard work paid off.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I was gonna get kicked out all the one I
didn't tell my.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Wow. Okay, independent queen, we love it. Yeah, but you
could say yeah and look out far it's cutting you. Yes,
and you're only going to keep going and ground babe.
And I think the best things in life happened when
you least expect it. So happy accidents keep them coming,
because then we get more magic, more singles. You obviously
gave us an early release on your latest new music Fridays.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I keep saying early release. I just didn't know the time.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Then I'm like, yeah, well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I'm like you are welcome.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
We were going to ask because like, obviously are you
still like mentally in like Britain time. Okay, I'm very
geographically and please do not make fun of me London
time for British time. I'm listen, I'm smart, I swear,
but geography and I don't get along. Okay.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
I didn't know what she's thinking.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Was that's actually fair though, That's okay, yeah, I should
probably know what.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
I don't even know what time I'm on.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I'm just Mercury is in retrograde, so like we're still
figuring it out. Girl, Come on, astrology, what.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Does that actually mean? Do you actually know what I means?
Speaker 1 (07:51):
No, I don't know anything about horoscopes. Ship out of you,
and I'm so sorry about that. Okay, so let's talk
about fun things. Speaking of astrology and things we don't know.
Spirit animals, we know animals. Do you have one?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I don't know. I'll always think about this. I have
no idea. I know what fruit would be, though, I'd
be great.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I love you. I think i'd be a pair?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Would you? I see that?
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Have you been watching the Ai fruit drama?
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I love it? I love Why are they yelling at
me all the time? They're not yelling at you know
what they teach me about the fruits? Are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Like? No, no, no, like you too much to me?
I never touched your garlic.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Again, stay close, kids?
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Don't know? Wait?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I like I'm a pair and I'm really good for
your heart.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
The ones are like they cheat on each other?
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Can you send me that on TikTok? Actually, because I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Ai fruit dramas, like the apple is always getting kicked
out for like farting in bed. I mean, like the
strawbeet is like I actually, just stop talking about this.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I really don't want to see saying that people.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Like held up like an apple in the crowd, like appleina,
and I.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Was like, oh, that's hilarious, but like you know what
that's tell your audience knows you, and like I've just called.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Me a thing.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I don't want this to be my thing because I
actually made my thing like this, like this British cookake
accost of cream.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Okay, biscuits or not cookie?
Speaker 1 (09:11):
You don't like cookies, it's wrong. Oh it's a biscuit.
Got it a British biscuit, and take's not a sandwich?
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Surely okay, yes, I mean that is okay.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Scientifically yes, okay, correct, but also a cookie is a biscuit.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
No, because the cookie is like like raised and a
biscuit is flat.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
That's fair, okay, So scientifically you work, okay.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
But I don't even want talk about what are we
talking about? I would be a crunchy grace if I
was a fruit.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
It has to be crunchy because I just bought bitter
grapes and I'm very upset about it. Don't love them.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
I would even pick it.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
I knew the color too. It really was a wrong
choice on my part. It's okay, we'll do better next time.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Sometimes you're just in a rush just talking about great
I know so much.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Okay, I will wrap it up with one more question,
only because I have to talk about Amy wine House
with you. Oh yeah, she's obviously one of your musical
inspos everyone. I have this really drunk habit that needs
to end about like kao yes, but like i've I've
elevated it to wedding singer. So I will hijack my
friend's weddings and grab the mic and start singing Emmy
(10:17):
wine House Valerie obviously. Yeah, do you have a go
to We're gonna go beyond karaoke. If you could crash
your friend's wedding and sing there, what song would you say?
Would it be your own?
Speaker 3 (10:27):
The thing is when you when you're a singer, like
no one really wants to No one really wants to
hear from you, and someone else can sing no.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Everyone wants to hear from you, but no one wants
to ask.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
No, no, no no. Like karaoke, is that everyone's like, oh, yeah,
we get it. You can sing.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
It's only fun when you're bad at it. So that's
probably why I think I will enjoy when I think
I get so.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
I get to sing all the time. That's someone else.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Have a guy, that's fair. You know what. You enjoy
the drinks and you enjoy the dancing. Sing Amy for you,
you'll hate it.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Well listen if you want me to come up on
stage tonight with you here at the boundary, it's Valerie,
that's all. You gotta start playing and be like Rachel.
I know you're out there. I know you're out that
with the grapes and the Tuesday and I promise that
will be your post show meal. But thank you so
much for coming to Philadelphia. You are hilarious, so nice
to thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
That was fun.
