Speaker 1 (00:01):
From the theme park capital of the World, Orlando, Florida.
This is the theme Park Podcast. Wait podcast?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Is this on the radio? Why does everything gotta be
so messy on this station?

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Anyway?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Here's your hosts, Dickerman, Jimmy D and Scott Harris.

Speaker 4 (00:20):
Hey there, welcome to the Theme Park Podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Dickerman. Here, there is Jimmy D. Happy spooky season and.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
The glue that holds everything together. Mister Scott Harris.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Can I give a quick shout out very quickly?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Please, we love shout outs on this show.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Sorry I forgot your name individual, but I'm just gonna
give a shout out to the Universal Orlando ticketing reps
over the phone. Had to contact them today for reasons
to make some changes and they were super helpful, very
simple and easy process. So shout shout out to him.

(00:58):
I've actually had very good experiences every time I've called
them to book anything in.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
The five When you have good customer experience, it is
a game changer.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I will say this. I held on the phone when
they're like, do you mind staying on for a survey?
You stayed, I stayed on. I stayed. I stayed on
the phone. That was an additional thirty seconds. But still, hey,
you did it. I did.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yes, you made the effort, and the effort is rare.
But that's that's good to hear. That's good to hear
that Universal has got good people in the right positions.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
When it comes to surveys, how long, like how much
time are you willing to invest? Because I've done one
where I was like, after I got to like the
fifth page of the online survey, I was like, no.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
I'm that's a single pager, man, one page, one page.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I'm done.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, Like like you know, like when we go to
the parks and they're standing right at the entrance.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Oh no, no, no, that's always uhh, I'm busy.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah. But like if you if if it's like an
email one and I'm not doing anything, like I might
like get olier. Like when I went to Epic Universe
a couple of times, I got like the next day,
I got a survey, but I absolutely filled that out
because the park is so new there they want as
much feedback as possible.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But was it a reasonable amount of questions? I asked,
Like Jimmy said, you get to page five, You're like,
come on, guys, I'm trying to help you here, but
you're not helping yourself.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I don't I don't want to see an SAT score
after I hit you know submit. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I also probably shouldn't have to put my income in either.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, it's weird that you did that. You've filled that
one out. Are you sure it was coming from the
right place?

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Wait what they wanted?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
My income, social Security number and data birth and my
CVV number.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Oh oh, that was a totally normal, totally normal.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Wait did you give them your routing information to your
bank account? Well? Of course, I mean that was the
first question.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, that's how they prove who you are.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, you're fine, but good so.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Boys, we are on the precipice of the best time
of the year for theme parks. It is it is
upon us. The fall months are coming ahead, which in
theory lead to not as big of crowds, but most importantly,
the best weather of the year to enjoy a theme park.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well you said no crowds yet I just looked and
saw that every date for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween
Party or sold out.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
That is a special event, and that is h wild
that they sold out.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
We're not what is this?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
It's not even it's October.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Yeah, we're ten days away from Uh wait, no, what
day is? What is today? When we're week away from October?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
When when back when you were younger, fifty years ago,
what when did this event start?

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Likey Mickey's not so scary, I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Yeah no, but it didn't know like when it first started,
wasn't it just like like like I know that, like
because you've talked about this, like the first few Fright
Nights in Halloween. Horror Night started like the second half
of October. Oh, yeah, that's what I mean.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Like I don't see, I don't I don't know when
Disney started their stuff. I do know when Universal started
their stuff, mostly because when I was a kid, my
sister worked there and then I got into radio very young,
so and then you got stuck to the gum wall. Yeah,
we were heavily involved, you know, from the very beginning.
But yeah, I don't know when Disney started. But I
always thought it was, you know, insane, like who's gonna
pay one hundred dollars to go to Disney uh for

(04:28):
like four hours like the regular ticket price. But apparently
a lot of people, since the entire thing is sold
out now.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
It started in nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Wow, I bet you it was like thirty bucks to
go back then Probably it's like nothing. It's like please come,
you're open at night.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
But I can't figure out like when in like October
it began kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, you know, Uh, Epic Universe is open late. They're
open till ten o'clock every night. That is nice. That
is nice, I miss.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I don't know if this did you still stay open
to midnight sometimes those are the times.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Those are the times for me.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I think usually it's like eleven now, yeah, but it's
usually like MK and Epcott will do that. Yeah, right, yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Animal Kingdom never they tried it for a while. I
remember when they had like remember when they had like
the fake sunset for the animals and they would try
and like keep them wake, you know, at night. I
don't think that lasted terribly long. Yeah, And I don't
know why Hollywood Studios doesn't stay open later. They've got
so many great rides there.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Now, Yeah, they're upen until nine.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
But during the holidays they're usually open later.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Right, That's actually what I'm doing. I'm looking at Thanksgiving
itself ten to nine nine six.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Like without the Odds Born lights.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I wonder if they you know, like when they had
the Osbourne Lights, I felt like they stayed open pretty
late because you really had to have truth.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
It was like nine o'clock. Really, nine o'clock. I don't
want to be later. No, d ten nine? Yeah's still over.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
It make a wish is kids give kids the world?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Yeah? Now I believe it's migrated elsewhere. I missed that.
I never knew. I never thought to go until you
told me, Jimmy, and then I went. I went.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
It was insane, it was madness, but it was just
something special about being there.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
It was really cool. I I am glad I went
the years that I went.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Yeah, so I think I only got to go two
years and then it was gone.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
There was one year I flew back into town and
like went straight from the airport to go see it
because it might have been the last.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Year of it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
So I feel like with us talking about not so
scary being sold out, it's pre October. You guys, if
you want to go to the Merry Christmas party, they
might they might sell out in October, so go get them.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It's kind of like what we was talking about. Like
if you want to go do something like especially at
the parks, get your tickets. Get your tickets like as
early as you can if you can afford to do so.
The same thing like we talked about this with Hally
and Hornet. It's like I have a friend that's like
the Express is sold out. I'm like, you should like
once that went on sale, you should have got it.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Yeah, And oftentimes, you know, not Disney per se, but
a lot of times like they'll have discounts when they
first go on sale, like you know, I know for
like Seaward, Fellow Scream, you can save a bundle if
you buy your tickets early. And even when we would
promote you know, events at the radio stations, you know,
if you bought the tickets that day they went on sale,
you'd save some significant money. And that's that's still the
events I work today. You save money if you buy

(07:43):
them early, but everybody wants to buy them the last
couple of days.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Well not only that, Like I I recently upgraded my
Universal Pass to the Premiere, which includes like valet and
the extra parking and everything, but it also includes a
Hallway Hornite ticket. You have to go online in reserve
that ticket. I looked not available for the rest of

(08:09):
the event. Oh, they're just all it's all taken.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
So what happens now do.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
You get your benefit or no? No, I would reach
out to customer service because, as I've heard on a
radio show slash podcast, they have excellent customer service. I
mean I might be able to moop some mountains for you.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
I Mean the thing is like, it is subject to availability,
and if it's not available, then that's just kind of
how it goes.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Yeah, but there's account it's it's it's subject to availability.
It's in it's in the field, it's in the print.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Like I can appreciate that. But if you're gonna include
that as a benefit, they should at least have like
one spot for every person. So like subject to availability
should be like availability to certain days, but there should
be at least one available day, not zero.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Well okay, yes, one of the days is right now,
m M. And the other day is tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Oh, let's go tomorrow. That's fair.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
That's what I mean, Like I was talking about like
a past right now.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Right, Okay, fair enough on that one. So you had
a good experience dealing with universal Jimmy, you were a
theme park adjacent at the same park this past week.
I does this count as a theme park visit?

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Yes, well, I visited or Universal Orlando Resort, So okay,
walk and did Friends trivia at the hard Rock Cafe
in the Root. Friends to participate in trivia for that show. Yeah, okay,
good for you. Good for you, because I would do terribly.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
What do you mean Friends, I don't know much about it.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
You're such a Joey, You're such a Chandler Chandler.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
And Monica and Rachel and this dude is Gunther.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I was gonna say that the only Friend's episode I
want to see is the one where Monica dates an
MMA fighter.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I think she dates like Boss Rotten. No, no, I
think it was Actually it was John Yeah, no, no, no, no,
she's dating Jon Favreau, who decides that he's gonna he
wants to become the Ultimate Fighting Champion. He's like a billionaire,
you know, looking at today like Jon Favreau today, he
seems very unbelievable in that in that sort of a role.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
But back then wait, no, no, no, didn't he also play
like an MMA fighter? And was it four Christmases?

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yes? I'm not sure. Yes, he don't think I saw
four Christmases. There was a moment there where like in
the Swingers, like Vince Vaughan era in his life, where
he was just shredded.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Well, and remember he's like a swat guy in the
Replacements the Football movie.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Oh gosh, that's Keeves right, Yes, yeah, yeah, that's right,
Shane Falca.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yeah, who like like tackles everyone, like Bobby Bouchet from
the Water Boy.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yes, so, Jimmy, how was friends Trivia at Universal Orlando?
Important to note for cheap o's like me, if you
go on a non Halloween Horrorites night, if you go
after six pm, parking is free. However, if it is
Halloween Horrnits night, then you do not get free barking.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Correct, correct, And you know it's crazy. I could not
find anywhere on Universal's website that said that it was
free after six for Florida residents. It's just not on
their site. They like to discourage it. Well, no, I
don't think they're discouraging it, but I think they're leaving
themselves the opportunity to, you know, so that they're not trapped.
They're that cornered with one, you know, what have you

(11:53):
parking being free? Yes, did you see aecially, especially during
like Halloween Horronites where it's like every other night you
have to pay for parking. Probably don't want that anywhere
near that messaging anywhere near your website, just to avoid
the headache of it, the confusion because people do not read.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I can tell you firsthand that people you can say
it a thousand times, you can make them check boxes,
you can make them sign things, they still do not read.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Did you see our friend LT while you were there?

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Actually I did see LT and she was doing great man,
she was she was rocking her own and placing people
in the room and it was like, you know, it
was kind.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Of her event that that that place is custom made
for her. So that's awesome. But trivia went well, did
you win?

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Is the question? Well it was Curtis trivia and Curtive
member great guy. Yeah, he did trivia at my wedding.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Actually, so we did trivia at our at our live show.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
That's right, did the live friend of the show. I
forgot about that. I don't know how I forgot about that,
but it was his trivia. We got smoked.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Oh okay, yeah, we didn't know enough about Friends.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
It turns out there was eighteen teams. We came in
twelfth place.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Okay, some some the people that are like Friends fanatics,
you know they're gonna know.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yeah, well, I mean, thankfully. It wasn't like when he
did Harry Potter Trivia they had to break a tie
because two teams got perfect scores. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
I've been to I've been to one of his Harry
Potter trivia's before. Too tense.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Yeah, people are intense about Potter. They're intense about Friends.
I imagine the same would probably be the for Seinfeld
or Lord of the Rings or Yellowstone or Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
I just want to make a recommendation from the menu
at hard Rock. Twisted mac and cheese. It's like twisted
mac and chicken and cheese. I don't know what it's
twisted mac and cheese. It's a it's a chicken breast
on top of macaroni and cheese, and it is fantastic.
I don't know what they seized that chicken with, but
it's perfect. They've got excellent food out there. I will

(13:55):
give you that. Their food is dynamite. Yes, fantastic.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Yeah, all right, Well that is the inparkjacent, so that
that does count.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
And then tomorrow I go eat it a at Disney. Yeah,
you do what you want to do. Are you sure
that's what you want to do?

Speaker 4 (14:12):
You're sure you don't want to take one for the
team and maybe save launch Bay for everyone?

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah? I will be going to Narkussi's at the Grand Flerdy.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
You're just gonna sit there in your fancy little restaurant
Ivory Tower tie, and you're gonna watch as they dismantle
the great Launch Bay. You're gonna see as you leave
your fancy dinner, You're gonna see poor Darth Vader on
the Silo Road looking for work. That's what's gonna happen. No,

(14:42):
that's not He's gonna be unemployed. Same with Kyler. Poor
BB eight is gonna be rolling down I four just
looking for something to do.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I kind of want the Can I have him?

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Like?

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Will he be at Cast Connections?

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Well? Well, what I feel like this is gonna be
uh Stolen Kingdom volume two? Yif everybody's gonna want that stuff?
What's that place that just had the rip red rocket seats?

Speaker 4 (15:07):
That like that plays out the Lakeland Antique mal Yeah,
have all places in Lakeland.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Well, here's the thing. What did you just say about
Darth Vader unemployed? Nope?

Speaker 3 (15:21):
What's he doing?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Starting September twenty fifth, at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Darth Vader
will meet guests into Star Tours.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Q Oh, So we still haven't quite mixed the world's
up yet where he's in BOT two, but at least
he's closer over there at Star Tours.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
And you have to think that they would figure something
out for the BB eight meet and greet. He's cannon
to Galaxy's Edge.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
Can he just roll around like some of the other
Droids do? Can they just like have a a person
that you know, keeps an eye on him, like a babysitter.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
I don't know, man, I have one of those rods
and the head just will not stay on. Hm. Well,
they've got the good one. They said they sold you
the cheap one.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
You know they've got the good one.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
It's got the good magnets in it. I mean.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
The thing is like they've like Chewy is at Galaxy's edge,
Kylo is at Galaxy's edge. You could figure out somewhere
for BB eight at Galaxy's Edge, And then you've just
moved Vader over to Star toars.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Then just like let them move into the movement, movement
into about two too, you know, let him come over,
let's mix the world.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Well, oh, by the way, speaking of did you guys
watch the trailer?

Speaker 4 (16:37):
I did not watch the trailer for Mandalorian and grogor
you've not seen that yet?

Speaker 3 (16:40):
And how are we feeling about it? Because I have
no idea where did I Where did I see that?
I must have saw it in ahead of another film, right,
Scott's making a face.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
No, because it just it literally just dropped on Monday.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Yeah, I literally came out I saw it, and I'm like, oh,
I'll have to watch that, but I haven't done it yet.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
I did watch it. I don't know where I saw it,
but I did watch it.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Looks like an episode of a television show, but just longer.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Yes, was that kind of what down? You know, because
you understand this was that kind of what Downton Abbey was?
Or is that different?

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Yes? Okay, yeah, yeah? And did you guys see the
X Files movie?

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I mean it was just a long episode of The
X Files And Molder says the S word one. Does
that mean Grog who's gonna say a curse?

Speaker 2 (17:28):
All I was all I will say. In the one
minute forty seconds of the trailer, you only see one
human face.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
In it. It's Sigourney.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
It is Sigourney Weaver. That is it. There are no
other human faces in that.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Movie, Like the whole storyline with Luke Skywalker, like they
went through and just dismantled that so fast.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Is there no chance of them trying.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Again with Luke Skywalker somehow being involved here?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Also, the other thing is, I don't think uh, Pedro
Pascal has gotten his line yet because he he doesn't
talk in the trailer. There's no dialogue. There's no dialogue
in the trailer.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
I mean, honestly, Pedro's voice is the only thing.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
Like they could put anybody in the suit, if we're
gonna be honest that anybody could be in.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
The suit, don't hm, we're not pointing that out.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Okay, we're not doing though about that, just like Santa.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Well, because it's kind of like known that unless like
he's taking the helmet off.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
I'm doing eighteen other movies right now. Can you just
put someone else in the suit.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Somebody was like, so, I don't remember where I saw this,
but somebody was like, I can't stand all the people
that are hating on him for being so popular. He's
like that guy busted it, like did took any job
early on his career, and now he's like an A
lister And now you're saying he's over exposed. It's like, no,
he earned where he is, Like, let him enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
It's spreaded out. Think it's spread it out.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
It's not the thing is it's not his fault that
these studios are deciding when they're releasing his movies.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
No, No, The thing, I mean, the thing I worry
about for him is like what happened to Antonio Benderaz,
Like that guy was everywhere. I mean I remember there
was like one summer where there was three theaters with
three different of his movies because they had just released
all one time.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
That everybody wants them. That's the that's what the studios do.
They're like, oh God, have we gotta have Patro piscal
in this. It's got to be Piscale. We got no
one else will do. It's got to be Piscale.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
I mean that did kind of happen because I think
the materialist Eddington and Fantastic four First Steps were all
in theaters at the same time in the year. Yeah,
you could have triple featured if you wanted to.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
But honestly, I think like all these celebrities are overexposed
at this point.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
But I bring up this trailer because it's going to
be part of Smuggler's Run. Okay, and the update when
the new movie comes out.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
I love an update of Smugglers Run because we've been
wanting that all.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Also were Also if you look at the poster for
Mandalorian and Grogu, Mandalorian and Grogu are on it three
different times.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
Okay, it's like, all right, it's a little it's a
little weird. Do you think Chewy Mode will go away
and Smuggler's Run if they if they changed things up.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Look, here's the thing. We've never experienced it, so I'm
not sure it exists.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
I know you need six people for it. That's a lot.
I don't have that many friends.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
I know you guys, well, the problem is you don't
have that. You don't have a pass is the problem.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
That is a problem.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
That can't go.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
That is a problem.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
I can't I can't participate in Chewy modif I can't
be allowed in the park exactly.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Doesn't have any theme park passes right now. No, I
have nothing. I got nothing.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
I but I I will miss launch Bay. I remember
when launch Bay was announced and how excited we were
and we were there. We were there day one. We
were pumped for launch Bay.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
You guys were.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
I was not.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I think before I joined the team.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Yeah, I think it was before you were with us.
But Jimmy and I we were there for day one
of Launch Bay and we were, you know, out of
our minds for this because it was something new from
Star Wars and it was very exciting and they had,
you know, the opportunity to meet these guys and they
had this great sit up and they had the jahwas
and they had the little movie they'd play beforehand.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
We're really striking out on preserving things.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Well, no, it's this isn't about preservation. This is about
turning the clock back and making that space what it
originally was.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
That's true. I'm very much torn because it's like, as
much as I liked Launch Bay, it has kind of
been like left to what it is.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, it was a spirit Halloween one year.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yeah, and it's going back to what I remember from
my early days of going to then MGM Studio. So
I'm actually kind of it's going to become like animation again.
It's the Animation Courtyard.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Okay, all right, well, I mean they're not going to
put something worse in This is Disney. They'll put in
something awesome. It's just so sad to see it go.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Yeah, but it was, it was, It had time.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
It was yeah, it had its time. And what Launch
Bay was was just like it was like a bridge
to get us to Galaxy's Edge, Like they had announced
galaxies Edge and we couldn't wait for that. So they
were able to give us just a little piece of
something to get us through. And now it's time for
that to, you know, make way for other things. Think goodbye.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
The bigger thing is And Jimmy will agree with me
on this, is they there's one thing that they should
just do.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
What's that Star Wars Weekends. I agree with you too.
I only got to go to that twice. Star Wars
Weekends was so awesome. I loved it.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
All the different characters they'd bring out.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
The actors, they'd bring back the actors. The merchandise that
they had was always like top Notch. Yeah, yeah, why
not bring it back? Why not bring it back? It
had to be profitable, and I thought they would. I
thought they would bring it back once Bot Too was ready.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
I thought they'd bring it back when they bought Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Yeah. I don't know what the hold up is here.
Somebody called Bob. Somebody called Bob.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
He's a little he's a little preoccupied right now. What's
he doing?

Speaker 3 (23:18):
What's he got going on?

Speaker 2 (23:19):
There's some stuff going on right now, by the way,
very quickly. Construction has already started on for what replaces
Hollywood Ripride Rocket, and it's gonna be a roller coaster
of some kind. So while they're tearing down Ripride Rocketing
the other one, they're putting footings in for the replacement.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Okay, I mean the place is already a disaster, might
as well go for it, I am. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
The the inversion loop is like half gone now.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Yeah. I saw Buyer reconstruct at by Reconstruct on Twitter.
He had posted some video footage of them like just
sawing away at it, like sparking, you know, sending sparks
in this sky.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
We got to get Dickerman a piece of it.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
R I p R I p y.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
That's a sad day for coaster fans.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
All right, well, Scott.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
