Hi, everybody, good morning, myself son AJ in the building.
DJ Forurn is in Miami with his son for Rolling Loud.
I can't wait to hear how that trip goes. Because
when he surprised his son with these tickets to Rolling Loud,
the kid, it was the cutest thing ever. He was
almost in tears. I won't say he cried, but he
(00:30):
couldn't believe it. So they're going to have an amazing
Dad son weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Be back next week. In the meantime, what the hell
is up with you? How are you? What's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Correct me if I'm wrong, because I always do this.
We haven't had anybody on the show yet. We have
not okay six one seven nine week Yes, yes, yes,
true true true six one seven nine three one one
nine four five. That is six one seven nine three
one one nine four five.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Call me.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
We're talking about anything you want. Literally, nothing is off
the table. We're gonna kick it off with the talkback.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Hi.
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Actually my name is Martin. I'm a big fan of
you guys. I listen to you guys every day when
I was locked up. I just got released December six
You guys are hilarious and send you guys just like
my second family. Listen. You guys are the only thing
(01:25):
that got.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Me through my scent that's got crazy. It's the thirteenth.
He got out the sixth. One of the first things
he did was leave us a talkback. Martin. I don't
know what your crime was, sir, but either way, I
hope you learned a lesson and I hope you are
going to stay out of trouble now.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Martin, that's cool that you can consider us family. But
with a type of family you don't visit though. I
just want to make that clear.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
If we are family, though, we are accepting gifts like
the one from Uncle Barry.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
This morning, Ash is in Dorchester. Hi, Ash, good morning.
Speaker 6 (01:57):
Good morning. How are you?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
How told you babe?
Speaker 6 (02:01):
I'm twenty nine. I only asked about to be thirty.
I'm my first day January second who.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Right around the corner?
Speaker 2 (02:07):
I only ask that because like our the name Ashley,
it was you know, popular obviously, when because I'm about
to be thirty eight, so you're you're a you're a
younger Ashley. But you know, my mother always tells me
that in nineteen eighty six there were no Ashley's, like
that was not a common name. Now, all of a sudden,
our name's probably the most second popular.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Name in the world. Everybody's inn Ashley.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Well I sew it with to ease. Also, so my
parents are on the same waveleng hey Heny.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's the only thing we got going for us. And
I say that all the time. I'm like, I have
a very common name. The spelling is different. Thank god.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Your middle name is not Elizabeth.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Yeah, no, it's Jacqueline.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Imagine so you're a bartender in the city where what
what place do you bartend at?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Let's get some people there.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
I am. I reckon that divine so Irish and Saniel Hall.
You don't have to, I mean everybody.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Everybody knows ned divines. How insane does it get there
on the weekend? Because you have like a younger crowd,
I feel like coming in there.
Speaker 7 (03:07):
We do.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
It's very much so like a college crowd. Yeah, college kids.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
You know.
Speaker 6 (03:13):
On the weekends. I always tell people it turns into
the zoo, so all the animals get it out.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, it's how I've been there a couple of times.
It gets crazy, and I certainly did go there more
ways in college. But you want to give everybody a
PSA for all the bartenders out there, just reminding people
to tip.
Speaker 8 (03:31):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Yeah, So I'm working a barkrall this Saturday. It's a
Santacon bar crawl from ten am to two am, and
then Sunday I'm back at ten am to eight pm.
So I'm in it for the long haul this weekend.
So but you know, lately, it's been a struggle sometimes
with tips, and I feel like a lot of people
forget that. You know, we live off of our tips.
(03:52):
We do get a very small hourly, but twenty percent
is very appreciative, you know what I mean. We're all
trying to pay bills. I have two kids myself, bro.
You know, with Christmas around the corner, everybody has things
that are that are going around. So just tip your bartenders,
tip your server, you.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Know, out of curiosity.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
And I'm genuinely asking if I were to order two
rum and coats from you, what kind of tip are
we talking?
Speaker 3 (04:14):
What do you want to what do you want to
see on the bar?
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Well, I'm not gonna lie. I mean Boston, it's expensive
in a city, so I mean two rum and coats.
That's probably just like you're looking at a twenty five
dollars tap, right, but that should be if it's a
twenty percent tip, it should be like a five dollars tip.
So my my thing that I always do, right is
you take the first number. So say it's a twenty
five dollars tap, you want to double the first number.
(04:38):
You have a four, but it's a five, so you
round it up, so it'd be a five dollars tip,
if that makes sense. So whatever the first number is
of your bill, you want to double that number, and
that usually gives you around twenty percent.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Well, I mean, or just for every two drinks five
bucks and okay, because i'll be honest with you, I'm
throwing down two or three right there.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
So a lesson has been learned.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Yeah, no, And a lot of people don't. You know,
you don't always know twenty percent off the top of
your head, right, but you know when when you're behind
the bar, when you're like at the service station, you
know exactly exactly what the percentage is without even having
to do the math.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Ashwell, listen, we all just learned something here. Good luck
out there, have so much fun this weekend. It's gonna
be nuts.
Speaker 6 (05:22):
Yeah, and anybody listening, come visit me and Ned Divine.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah, ask for Ashley with two ease at Ned Divines.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
There it is. Happy early birthday, babe.
Speaker 7 (05:33):
Expensive No twenty five, we're kind of rum and Coach
like that rum better be imported because if they it
cannot be the captain.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
No, it's probably it's probably Bacardi right twenty five.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
I mean, listen, it's not her fault, but that's just what.
I went out the other night and the Espresso Martinez.
We' damn you're forty dollars go.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
To Puerto Rico and pick up the Hi Rachel, good morning.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Good morning.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
See this is exactly why people pre game before they go.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Out, you know what, talk about it as for and
would say I'll be him right now, because that's that's crazy.
I'm not kidding you, Raach. The other day, I go
out and I was like, I'll have an espresso martin
my girlfriend. I We ordered two espresso Martinis and the
guy comes over to put the bill down and we
kind of looked at each other We're like, oh, we
each had twenty dollars cash didn't cover the bill. Forty
dollars didn't cover the two espresso martinis.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
I was like, excuse me, what.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Yeah, it's always cheaper to drinking home.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
It is.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
So you told Santi you feel like some coworkers deserve
to be punched in the face. I also agree with
you on that what's going on at your place. It's
going all with your place of business.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
I mean, honestly, the whole place is toxic. Normally, I like,
you know, keep my nose out of things, because you know,
like folks like me working among themselves. I know that
I have a temper and I know my history of
like and my buttons get pushed too far, I might
cush you out, queensmooth, and then have a good night's rest, Okay,
But I'm trying to like be a better person. But
(07:09):
I feel like sometimes when you're quiet, people you know,
continue to mess with you. So I feel like there
should be like a holiday or at least like a
boom where you can at least punch. Yeah, I'll just
have a fight club at least a month.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, there have been a few people to work in
this building. There are some that still do that, like
just just one little Honestly, I might not even want
to punch.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
It's like a quick slap and keep it moving. Quick slap,
quick slab.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Now I know it's a holiday season, and I'm with you,
like I'm trying to be better about certain things too.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Santi actually told me today that I scare people quote
in the buildings.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
So I don't know, right, yeah, maybe maybe that's for
the best if so okay, fine say it. Say you
could do it, and you could actually just go slap
this person and move on. Do you have the person
in your head that you'd want to do it too?
Do you have a number one slot?
Speaker 5 (08:01):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, I have a few people.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Oh wow, Okay, well there you have it. It's never
gonna happen. So unfortunately, we're just gonna have to grinn
embarrass me and you.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
And I visit Ashley to give more of them a cookes.
I guess yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
You know what, if we're drunk, we're always happy. That's
a fact. Thanks, Rachel. We'll go broke.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
But it's fine if you have a history of reacting
a certain way at work. Is the problem the other
people and the co workers that's just my question. I
didn't want to ask her directly on the phone because
I was afraid of her.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
But like, do you understand I was waiting for you
to say that you were afraid of Yeah, like I
saw you put her name in quotes, so her name's
not really Rachel. So we can say, like, I'm not
messing with Rachel. I want no smoke with Rachel. Rachel
and I we're cool.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Rachel still also has a job because our boss is
afraid to fire her.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
All right, let's go back to the phone. Six one
seven nine three one one nine four five six one
seven nine three one one nine four five call us
say what's up. We're talking about you, your life, your world,
anything you want. It's the check in only on JAB
ninety four to five. Hi, everybody, good morning, It's Ashley
in the gem In Morning Show.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
We're doing the check in right now.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
We're checking in on you, your life, your world, talking
about anything you want.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Willie is in Lawrence. Hi, Willy, Hello, Hello, good You
know it's funny you bring this up.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
And I'm also shocked that we don't get more people
hitting us up to talk about what's going on with
jay Z and ditty and all of the things. What
is your take on this? Because it's a lot and
there's always something new. Do you believe all of these lawsuits.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Coming out against Diddy first and foremost?
Speaker 8 (09:38):
I mean, it's just so much. It's like, at what
point do we say it gotta be true?
Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (09:44):
All I'm saying is if it walk like a duck quack, like,
it must.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Be a duck duck.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Where there is most, there there is fire.
Speaker 8 (09:53):
They got to be fired. And you have all these
people talking about, well, no, I don't know about none
of on the second party. I went home before the
second party happened. So did you know about the second party?
Or you did it? Like that's my whole thing. Everybody's
talking about, Oh I went home before it got freaky.
So all you're saying is you acknowledge that it happened.
Why wouldn't you just say, oh, I went home when
(10:14):
the party ended. I didn't see nothing like you.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
You know what that you're right?
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Like, I feel like a lot of celebrities are using
that line and trying to make it lighthearted in a
joke like, oh no, see I got out of there
before it got crazy. I went home at seven o'clock
before it got crazy, So so you know it got
crazy or what?
Speaker 3 (10:30):
What do you know?
Speaker 8 (10:32):
That's my whole thing. It's just I'm no conspiracy theorist,
but you know, it wouldn't surprise me if after did
it got locked up. A PR team was running around
telling people to say that to defend themselves thoughts on.
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Do you does any part of you think that this
allegation against jay Z is true?
Speaker 8 (10:53):
I mean you've been hearing stuff about him Beyonce, like
you know for a while now. Yeah, But it's just
he goes all the white parties, he's at the Diddy parties.
He's close friends the thing with him. He went on
tour with R Kelly and you know, Nas even called
him out about knowing there was miners in the studio.
So there's a lot against jay Z, you know, but
(11:15):
it gets swept under the rug.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I'll tell you what will is un This is how
I'm gonna end this. Call your phone rings.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
It's Diddy and he's like, wille you trying to come
through a freak off? How are you answering?
Speaker 8 (11:28):
Oh no, I'm gonna tell I'm gonna tell a fine God,
I like that.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Willie, thank you for the call. Yeah, No, I'm a freak.
Offs aren't for me.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Whether Jay did it or not that I don't, I
don't know, but I can tell you that he was
aware of all stuff that was happening. That I believe.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
And Willy makes a good point. There have we said
this yesterday? There have been a lot of rumors out
there about jay Z.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, and listen, I think that not every time you
hear a rumor is it true. I mean, I record
on rumors here because that's my job, just in case
it does come to fruition. But there is one rumor
about someone on their show, and you know that that
is factual.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
I don't know which way you're going to go on this,
so I don't want to laugh yet because I feel
like it could be about me.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Well, it absolutely is. You are a bisexual man.
