Dashy and the jam In Morning Show with DJ fourn
It saw t Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Bustin's number one for hip hop jam in ninety four
or five. Hi babes, good morning. I hope you had
a good weekend. We are inching crazy close to Christmas,
nine days till Santa comes. That is insane. You are
at the point now it's going to say if you

(00:25):
order today, it might not make it by Christmas.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
And most likely not because everything's getting delayed.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, it's crazy out there. And it also worked in
my favor a little bit. So Layla's birth Layla's going
to be three on Wednesday. That's insane to me. But anyways,
my dad sent a card for her birthday, and he
sent it over a week ago and it still wasn't
at the house as of a couple of days, which
never happens because he's right in Pennsylvania. Anyways, he was like,

(00:54):
I'm just sending another one. I don't want her to
not have something to open, blah blah blah. So I
ended up getting his first card and I knew there
was cash in there. Pocket take it right to my
bank account.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
That went are talking.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Fifty bucks, I'll take it, mind you he had already
bought her a gift, but he was sending some cash
for Santa's Village. Yes, thank you, I will be buying
something at Santa's Village for myself. All right, we're checking
in on you. What's up? How are you? What's going on?
Six one seven, nine three one one nine four five
six one seven nine three one one nine for five.
I would love a first time call her, but it's

(01:27):
all about you, your life, your world. Call me, tell
us a story, ask for advice, just call and say
what up. We're gonna kick things off this morning with
a talkback, not gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
When I used to say Ashley and the Jam and
W Show Ashley with two ease, I used to put
Ashley literally with two e's and then a y. I
felt really dumb when I found out it was two ease,
like l e e l e e wy.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Damn. This girl had me in there as a s.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
H l e e y because if it was too
ease and a y b athlete.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Really, so a couple of things. Number One, obviously, I
have the most common way girl name in America. We
know this. My mother fights me on this because obviously
in nineteen eighty six. She's like, there were no Ashley's
it was. It was a crazy name then, because nobody
was named Ashley. She got the name from an actress
on General Hospital at the time. That is where she

(02:20):
found the name. I always say it's Ashley with two
e's because I feel like my spelling is the only
thing that kind of gives me a little bit of edge.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I also, in high school had the same boyfriend the
whole time, and he was the only person in the
worlds that only called me Lee. Yeah, I've never heard
that weird, right, Lee? Yeah, Lee' that's how we call it.
That's how he addressed me.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
And you liked it.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
It was fine, But it's just the only person that
really like held on to that Leee because technically, I mean,
Lee is a.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Name, Yeah, but you never hear that for like a
girl like that, especially when you shorten it for Ashlee.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Yeah, my full name is Ashley A Lie by the way,
And when I would hear those two names put together
in the house, I knew I was getting cracked. Terry
was gonna lay the hammer. It's like Ashley Elizabeth, Oh,
send shivers. Tone.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
What's your middle name, Elvin? It's not Alvin, it's Elvin
with an E.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
That's mad Dominican. Yeah, I'm Santiago. Why are you surprised?
Why are you? I'm Dominican. I may not act like
it at times, but I am.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And our our apologies to anyone that is Dominican listening
being like, no, he's not.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
We know, we know my parents are.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
So for the rest of the show, I'm going to
refer to as Santiago Elvin old Leo, Oh God, please
take the attention off of us. What is happening with you?
How are you? What's going on? Tell me a story,
tell me about the weekend call and say what up?
Ask for advice, anything you want. The mic is yours
right now. Six one seven, nine three one one nine
four five six one seven nine three one one nine

(03:58):
four five are talking about you, your life? You're else
the checking only on jammin. I don't want to know. Hi, everybody.
Good morning, nine days until Santa's here? What the hell
is up with you? How are we doing? Melissa is
in Tuxbury. I'm Melissa.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Good morning, good morning.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Good morning. How are we doing?

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I'm just peachey on this Monday morning.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
How are we good?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I'm getting a little bit of an echo, like I
can hear us repeating? Is your radio down? Or do
you have me on bluetooth?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
I had you on speaker? Has that?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:30):
This is better? Better, good, good good? All right, So
talk to me. You have a question for us?

Speaker 5 (04:36):
What are we getting the employee or coworker we don't
like for Christmas?

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Well, first and foremost, do we have to get them anything?
Like why do we fill the obligation?

Speaker 5 (04:46):
There? Small office? You kind of gotta you know what
I mean? Like everybody getting a little something? So what
do I put in? Like the dollar scratch ticket and
hope they don't win, or like the family dollar candle
and everybody else? You know what I mean? Like what
do we do?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
True? Well, okay, so let me let's start there. What
are the other coworkers getting from you? Like what's a
good gift from Melissa in Tewksbury.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
I mean, candles and mugs are always easy, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
Everybody loves candles.

Speaker 6 (05:12):
Everybody loves a good mug.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Okay, I'm gonna be super easy.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
It's not probably many thoughtless so I.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Say because and by the way, I don't necessarily agree
with this, but a lot of people feel this way
that a gift card is like a throwaway gift, that
there's no thought to it. Like my mother hates gift cards.
I tell her, please get me a gift card. Don't
don't buy me something and hope and guess that I
might like it. Just get me a gift card. But
she's like, no, there's no thought in that, and that's

(05:40):
not a good gift.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
So hey, Dunks, I think the same exact thing.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Coffee gift card, Like there' there is zero thinking, that
is nothingness. Here's a Dunks gift card. Go get yourself
a donut.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Buy.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
I kind of wanted to make it like I don't
like if you do. You know what I'm saying, Like.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Oh, I don't want to be a complete you know
what I mean?

Speaker 2 (06:04):
God, Melissa curse. But we're going to go back to you. Yeah, Meliss,
we we can't be Not on a Monday, honey, not
on a Monday. So you you want to get the gift,
but make it known that you don't like that. I
don't know this is getting this is out of my jurisdiction.
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Buying like a coffee mug for people is.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Awful like a candle, that would be I would love a.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Candle, But like, what am I going to do with
a mug?

Speaker 6 (06:27):
I don't know, it's true, Yeah I have some, don't.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
I'm back to the drawing board. I appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Well, Jules is here for you. Thanks for the call list.
They have jewels, they have egg bites on the menu.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
You don't just get but you don't know her.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You don't know what she's getting. You don't casev is
An Wills there, Good morning, Good morning. So we celebrated
the hubs birthday over the weekend.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Huh, yes we did.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
It wasn't fifty fifty. You have to do it. You
have to do it up for fifty. What did we do?

Speaker 6 (07:17):
I actually had a work party this weekend, so we
went to that. They give us tickets for free drinks.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
There was a bunch of soap food. It was an
amazing vine.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Must be nice having like a company Christmas party.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Company Christmas parties look like anywhere. We haven't had one
since nineteen oh two around here. But must be nice.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
Y'all need to get up and have a Christmas party.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
You know, we really should, maybe next year, we just
say f it and we just have a gym in
Christmas party and call it a day, because like, if not,
we'll never happen.

Speaker 5 (07:47):
I think that would be so dope for y'all. I
would love that for you guys.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Okay, would you want to come? If we have one
next year.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
I'm definitely loved eating vite. Yeah, I love with cha.
Your husband were the most amazing time ever.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Will be drinking, but it'll be fun. We'll have a time.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
I drink so much.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Queen, you drink to what you throw you. Hey, you
are definitely coming at our Christmas party.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
That is that.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Everybody fall everybody, girl, I was jumping. I drank and
then I started jumping around dancing.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Oh yo, Okay, well you are officially our first invited person.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
That's what we're doing. I'm saying it here right now.
We're gonna have a Christmas party with us and people
listen to this show next year. I don't know where
it's gonna be, but that's what we're doing. We're throwing
our own Christmas party next year and it's gonna be
an event and jewels can come and DJ Nice last
fourne wants to because I don't think he does well, No,
I think he wants to party. Sorry, Jewels that yeah,

(08:54):
but you are you. I will be honest with you
because I love you.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Our option b you away from them them do that?

Speaker 2 (09:01):
He was like sick, Oh, okay, your option being unless
Fourn's like no, I'm trying to just party with everybody. Then,
but you know what, Jewels could start and then for
might want to jump in. You know how it is.
But anyways, case I have you are first official invitee.
Do you want to come to our jam and Christmas
party next year?

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yes? Done, don't do it.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I mark this down. Thank you for the call. We're
doing that. I love that idea. I know we could
find a place that would want to host us.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
And the listeners and you can get hammered. It's going
to be awesome.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
My god, Fireman won't come. You know he will not come,
all right? Sixty one seven If you're on hold, don't
go anywhere by the way, six one seven nine three
one six one seven nine three one one nine four
five calming. If we're talking about you, your life, your world,
anything you want maybe encore Hi, everybody, good morning, it's
asking the jam of the morning show. We're checking in, Onya,
how are you? What's up? David is in bosson. David

(09:49):
is going to help us out. So we had a
girl called in. She's like, listen, I have a coworker
that I have to buy a gift for. But I
want said coworker to know that I don't like them,
but I still have to give them a gift. I
was like, I don't. I just went in. I don't
want to play this game, but David is going to
help us out. David, what does one give a coworker
that they don't like but they have to give a

(10:11):
gift to.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
I guess it really kind of depends if it's a
male or female. So I've been in the situation multiple times.
I've had many, many, many jobs over the past ten years.
And I'm thirty three years old, so I've had many
jobs though and when. I've never given a bad gift
to a female, perfe. I've never given a gift actually

(10:34):
at all, to like a female at a job. But
I've had bosses that I've liked and disliked, and they
have taken it good and bad.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
What was a gift hated?

Speaker 5 (10:48):
It was a d l d O.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
It's like I felt it was headed somewhere. I really did,
and I knew it was as I was trying to
get to the get to it. And then that's where.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
We You can't give that to somebody else work give.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
That like that's just a lot crazy, you know what
I was actually thinking as that was happening. And of
course somebody would call on our show and say that
number one, but two, you know what. I hate those
prepackaged gifts at CBS, so they're already wrapped up, they're
ready to go. It might be a mug with like
hot Choco or something that's another one like I just

(11:28):
I don't like you. I ran past CVS real quick
and got a prepackaged gift. I didn't have time. I
don't care about you, but.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
It sounds like it costs more than twenty bucks, though,
I feel like that's like too much of somebody you hate.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
That's probably right around there. Alexis, you and I we
have something in common.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
Yeah, so my mom also named me from Alexis in
General Hospital. But my name's also spelt pretty weird where it's.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
A L e X Y I S instead of is.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
So yeah, you probably constantly have to spell it.

Speaker 6 (12:02):
Yeah. Yeah, every time I like or anything or anything
like that. I talk to somebody, you it to like
people at like government like things, and like it's not
spelled the regular way.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
I know.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
And you know what's funny, I find myself like, I'll
go to my favorite coffee shop in Marshall, the Slack Tight.
I'm there every single weekend, all the days, and I
find myself being when they asked me for my name,
I always say Ashley with two e's, But not that
it matters, but it makes me feel good when they
actually spell it right on the sticker, like I like
when it actually says as hl ee.

Speaker 6 (12:34):
I think it's also like a habit, especially like when
I give like my email to a store for like
credit or whatever, I have to spell like I'm like, oh,
my emails a lexus, but I have to spell it
right because they're just going to go and spell it
the regular way.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
They absolutely are. Does your mother still watch General Hospital?
That is another question.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
No, No, she doesn't.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Well, my mother lives in a bubble of sadness and
she still watches General Hospital. I said, you gotta stop
watching these soaps, like it's stupid. She's like, I just yeah, like,
oh really, I'm sure the one. So I don't know
which character I was named after her, but her real
life name was Ashley. But know this, Sonny is like

(13:14):
still alive and on that show. And that's when you
know it's gone too far. Alexis with a yis thank
you so much for the call. Yeah, it's it's nice
when you have a different spelling of a common name.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
But yeah, but then it's a pain in the ass
the speller for everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Oh constantly, it's a hot mess. But actually with two
e's is now you know watch I'll do it for
you right here. If you missed anything from last week's show,
