good morning. We are officially back from our holiday break.
We definitely missed you. I was just saying to Santi,
I am a firm believer in taking a little bit
of time off and being able to come back refresh.
I know some people like don't believe in vacation. You

(00:27):
gotta work, work, work, work, work, and that. That's all
well and good if that's the way you do it.
But I just feel like when we do take a break,
we're more excited to come back and we're.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know, I used to be like that.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
I used to never take that.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah, some people really are like that, And then.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
A couple of years ago, once I started taking it,
it really does kind of like rejuvenate you it, you
know what I mean, It's good to take some time.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
I have worked with people who didn't believe in vacations,
and it was awful working with them.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
It's terrible because then it makes you feel bad if
you do like to go on vacation.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Let's be honest.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
We know how Foreign like I have had to say
to for like you have the time. Yeah, take it
like it's it's it's good.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
So it is.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
But you're you're getting better, but we're not. We're excited
to be back.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yea, yeah, and ask me I the baby girl baby
girling some panties, don't keep her but naked cut, learn
some panties and give her a little a chance a
formation every morning, and you know it'll work out.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna move on from from naked
to underwear this week. That's everything that I've been reading
that that's the next step of But I needed I

Speaker 3 (03:22):
We're on the up and up.

Speaker 5 (03:24):

Speaker 6 (03:41):
That all the time, no one knows where.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah, and did I say your name properly? Corleen?

Speaker 6 (03:48):
You did?

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Well, first off, I never heard that name before. I
like it.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Where is Ashburnham on the map?

Speaker 6 (03:56):
Like near Lemonster?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Okay, I do know, true, yeah, and I do know Lemonster.
I've heard of it before.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
So what's up? What did we miss? How are you?

Speaker 6 (04:07):
I'm okay, I'm driving to work right now. I'm kind
of sick, my whole years sick. I just wanted to calm, say,
lug your show, and you guys can be entertained because
I drive an hour every day to work and I just.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Love you guys.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Well listen, we love you too.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I know that a few people had hit me up
over the weekend just being like, you might be sad
to come back to work, but I'm very happy that
you guys are all going to be back because the
last the month of December was weird, like Forne was out,
Santin and I were here, then Santi and I were
out Form was It was just a lot of back
and forth.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
But now the whole crew is back. We're here and.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Now listen, I'm happy to chat with you and I'm
everybody is sick, honey. Let me just tell you that
everybody has the sniffles. We just got to get through.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Yeah. Cool, Happy year, guys.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Happy New Year, Happy twenty twenty five. Thank you for
the call. Jen is in Boston.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Jen is going through a divorce, which means, Jen that
you were going through it over the holidays and that's
a lot.

Speaker 8 (05:05):
How are you feeling, Hi, Good morning, guys. I'm doing good.
I'm doing good. I know you said, like New Year,
knew me isn't your thing, but.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
It kind of is.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
Yeah, it's happening for.

Speaker 8 (05:19):
Me, and I'm really happy about it, to be honest.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
It was.

Speaker 8 (05:22):
It was a long eight.

Speaker 9 (05:23):
Years and I'm actually I'm still.

Speaker 8 (05:26):
In maternity leave, so I have a newborn at home,
so it's been a little hard.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
But I'm gonna get Jen.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I'm gonna need a little bit explanation here.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
So this is Okay, you're going through a divorce, but
you're also on attorney leave, meaning your your child is
how old.

Speaker 8 (05:43):
He will be three months in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Okay, three months. Are you sleeping?

Speaker 8 (05:49):
Yes? Actually he's doing really really well, sleeping through the night.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I'm very blessed.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Yeah, you are. He knows mommy needs it now.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You don't hear often I'm going through divorce and I
also have a three month old at home.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Did something specific happen? If you don't mind me asking.

Speaker 8 (06:07):
To not getting into too much detail, it's just been
a very toxic relationship. We honestly haven't even been married
for like a year yet, and it's just it kind
of hit me like it's time to end it. You know.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Was there infidelities.

Speaker 8 (06:25):
In the very beginning?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yes, okay, not recently. How long were you guys together
before you got married?

Speaker 8 (06:33):
Seven years?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Wow? So you've been together so long you're like, okay,
it's go time we're going to get married. Yeah. I
just like my heart hurts obviously for all of it,
but mainly because your postpartum and your emotions are not
your own and to be going through.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
But you seem are we back? Are we back?

Speaker 5 (06:54):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (06:54):
I hear you are?

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Sorry?

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Okay, No, I was just saying being postpartum, like, I
know that your emotions are not your own, but you
do kind of sound like you have a hold of
this thing and you feel okay. Is he in the
same spirits that you are or did he fight this thing.

Speaker 8 (07:11):
No, he's fighting me on it.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
I mean it's tough because I'm sure he's bringing up
the baby too, Like we have a little baby, I
should be in the house.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
Yeah. Absolutely. I'm actually the one that left, so I'm
actually back with my parents right now.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Yeah. Damn, that's crazy. That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
That's a lot, you know, on you as a new
mom and just trying to figure it all out. Do
you ever see a world in which it could work
again with him? I mean, you spent almost eight years
of your life.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
Personally.

Speaker 8 (07:45):
No. I think I've given him many chances and he's
just kind of failed every single time. He just he
needs to get some help himself. So I think I
think me taking this step in my life maybe will
help him take that step in his.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Will you allow him to have the baby by himself?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Or are you not comfortable with that yet? What is
that all going to look like for you?

Speaker 8 (08:16):
I mean, I'm all about him being in the kids' lives.
I have a seven year old daughter as well. Oh okay, yeah,
so I'm not the type that'll take that away from him.
I just I want him to be in better spirits. Yeah, okay, well,

(08:36):
see he can be a better dad.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
The only there's you know, it sucks, obviously, it's not
great you're going through a divorce, but you can put
all of your attention and thought into the kids, and
that is an amazing distraction because a three month old.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
Needs needs a lot of attention.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Oh yes, all right, Jen, Well listen, it is new Year,
New you you're single, honey, him and single.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
And eight years.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
I know it's gonna be very, very weird, but that's okay,
I am.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
I'm all for it, all right, babe.

Speaker 8 (09:06):
Well, best of luck, Thank you guys so much, Happy New.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
Year, New Year.

Speaker 8 (09:10):
Congret.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
You don't often have somebody call in and say they're
getting a divorced and they have a three month old
and be in like that type of spirit that no,
something's up by something.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Like she has direction, which is good. I feel like
a lot of people run into that. They're like, listen,
I never want to date again. I feel like she
should believe in love and kind of push forward.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah something whatever. I know she doesn't want to get
into too much detail. I think that means that she
still obviously cares about him as the father of her children,
but I'm it's giving something to me like he might
have some he might.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Have some demons. Second that, Yeah, all right, let's continue
to check him.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Six one seven nine three one one nine four five
six one seven nine three one one nine four five
call me? What the hell has been going on? How
was your VACA? How is your holiday?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Did Santa Cum tell me everything? Six one seven nine
the check in?

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Hi?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Everybody, Good morning. It dashing in the gym of Morning show.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
We are officially back for twenty twenty five, and I
was just saying, how listen. VAKA is nice and it's needed,
and I know it upsets a lot of people, but
we are also happy to be back and we got
this talk back.

Speaker 9 (10:20):
Hey, guys, just want to say, so glad you're back.
I know you guys love the time off and you
deserve it to be with your families for the holidays,
and I hope you guys had a great time.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
But we've all missed you.

Speaker 9 (10:31):
Like there's so many days where I want to put
on the podcast and.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Just listen to you guys, and I'm so lost.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
So I just want to.

Speaker 9 (10:38):
Say we're all glad that you're back, and happy Monday.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
That's sweep I'll get it. I get it.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
There's a good chance that next year or this year,
they'll be four weeks where I might not be here.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
That's a good chance.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
I mean, yeah, that that goes for all of us.
But listen, I am. I am such a creature of habit.
So I get it because I kind of look at
it as like when my favorite show goes away for
a little bit. It sucks, yeah, and you know, you
guys know we need the time away, and I know
you get that, but then you're like, Okay, good, they're back.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
We're back. It's we're back to normal life now. And
it actually.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Blows like that is I don't know if anybody else
feels this, but there is such a build up all
year to Christmas, right like the holiday season, Halloween and
Thanksgiving and Christmas and all year you're so excited for it.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Christmas happens like that day and it's just gone. It
is funny for.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
It's the next day. I feel like this weird feeling
inside of me. I'm like, the whole holiday season is
just gone in twenty four hours. It's it's very strange.
I also had my Christmas trees down probably by seven
pm on Christmas.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Like moved on the next day.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Gone.

Speaker 7 (11:50):
I put it up like a week or two before
things getting That's my thing. Y'all go through this, all
this effort to decorate your houses. The lights outside I
told you I didn't know was a thing. That service
will come out and put houses lights on houses and
then we then out the day ain't even ova and
all that stuff comes off, like for what at least
keep it until jam was like, dude, sit.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Down, like you're making me tired. But it's Christmas, Dawn,
I am. That's how type I am. I start to
like feel like I'm crawling out of my skin, like
I need it down.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
It's terrible. Court is in Worcester. Court just started her
own business.

Speaker 9 (12:27):
Good morning, Good morning. So I have called you guys
in the past. I called you when I first graduated
and you had like just came back to the show
because you're a postpartum and I was telling you about
how I had this baby during nursing school and stuff.
But I recently just started my own business as a doula.
I'm still a family health center nurse, but I started

(12:48):
my own private business and I'm very excited to kick
that off. This year.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
I never knew what the word meant. I never never
knew about the profession any of it. There was one
time where when I was pregnant with Layla, Santi goes,
you just give me vibes that you're gonna have a dude.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Duela, And the way he would say.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
It was like, so enough, you're gonna have a dula,
and he over and over and over again.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
So for people who don't know what a doula is,
Courtney explain.

Speaker 9 (13:16):
Yeah, so, adula is someone who does not make you well. Basically,
they inform you of all your birthrights and birth decisions
that you might want to make, and they just are
really your moral support during delivery and make sure that
this is like a great birthing experience for you. Some
people have like some traumatic birthing experiences, and I think
dulas are great for those type of women. But it's

(13:37):
really good support. We can't advocate for you, but we
encourage you on how to advocate for yourself, which is nice.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
What if I had Courtney in my labor and delivery
room I was getting ready to give birth, what would
be something that you would you know, advocate for, Like,
do you have your one thing like, what are you
pushing for?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Tub?

Speaker 9 (13:55):
So I have all the cool gadgets and stuff. So
I'm really big on birthing and a position that you
feel comfortable birthing in. And I went out and I
got some stuff from my company and for my clients,
just to encourage them to try different birthing positions. You
don't have to lay on your back, which is nice,
but a lot of people don't know that the hospital
beds are actually able to transform into different ways that

(14:16):
you can birth.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah. Wow, that's yeah. I was laying on my back
type of gal for all the things.

Speaker 7 (14:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (14:23):
Yeah, me too.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
All right, Court, Well, if anybody is looking for a doula,
where could they find you?

Speaker 9 (14:30):
So my Instagram page is here we grow Baby LLC.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Here we Grow Baby LLC. That's cute like that.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah, all right, thank you so much for the calling.
Good luck with your business in twenty twenty five. Thank
you you guys.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
Have a great day, you too.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
He used to always have the dula.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
You did give me vibes of that too. But I
also seen them like back in the day, like sometimes
they would get in the like in the birth in
tubs with the people.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
That's crazy. But in your hospital room. It doesn't have
to just feel like a home birth.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
And to her point, they do help you advocate for
stuff you aren't like.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
What, well, listen, I'll tell you what for me, Like
I'm gonna say the word wrong. But there's this the
stuff that when the babies come out, they put it
on their eyes called like eryth razim or something like that.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
I didn't want it.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I didn't do a vitamin K shot, little things like
not little things, but things that were important to me
that I didn't do.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Sometimes you get pushed back from the hospital.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Okay, okay, the mothers that are not all parents that
are not strong enough, they come in and be like, nah, they.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Have to right, Hey, I don't want this. I'm not
I don't want this for my baby.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Or like some of the vaccines that I got for
the girls, I delayed things like that.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
So I don't know if that's what she means.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Doesn't mean now looking back, would you give birth and
like the all four position, like down all fours like
a dog?

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Or would you do like the back? I feel comfortable
with my birth plance. But thank you though, thanks
