Speaker 1 (00:01):
Sadly and The jam In Morning Show with DJ fourn
and Santig Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Budin's number one for hip hop jam In ninety four
or five.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Hi, everybody, good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I hope you had a great along weekend. We're checking
in on you.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
What's up? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Six one seventy nine three one one nine four five.
We're going to kick it off with Rashida in Boston.
Rashida was asked by somebody yesterday if you watched the inauguration?

Speaker 3 (00:31):
What was your answer?

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I told him absolutely not. What was the purpose? I mean,
it's just another president that's in office. I mean they
don't get an award for or technically they do for
being another president a whole, right, So what was so
special about that? We already know what he's about. Like
when Obama came into office. I wanted to watch that.

(00:56):
It was part of history. My grandmother makes you Rest
in peace, who passed one hundred and four years old,
was able to see history happen. There's nothing historical about
a man that wants to have his own agenda for
his own political beliefs and himself. So what was the purpose?
I mean? I could have watched a reality TV show.
If I really wanted to watch something interesting, I.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Would suggest The Real World New Orleans. The second one. Yeah,
there's a talker.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
I know her. She's well listen Rashida.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
To each their own right, And I think if that
is how you felt about it, that I completely understand.
But I hope that if somebody else came up to
you and said, hey, let's have a conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I do think it was historical.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
You know, it's not often that you have somebody that
one president didn't win and then got back in. That's
only happened one other time. Like, I wanted to watch
it because that was historical to me. I just hope
that you'd be able to have the conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
I can appreciate you definitely the view on that side
of the street. However, if you really want to talk
about it being historical, if Kamala would have won, that
would have been an even bigger moment. I mean, it's
something like, I guess I'm looking for the flair and
if that's the case, if you're going to drag me
into this political drama, and yes, I am part of

(02:12):
that because my boat counts, my boat matters. I am
an African American woman, So everything I do is going
to be under the scope, and I wanted to be
seen and heard right However, you know I feel that yes, Okay,
I would agree with you Monsa. It's definitely historical moment.
But at the end of the day, I hate to
say this, and I'm going to get a lot of

(02:33):
feedback for this, but nobody really wanted to see a
woman president. If we really sit down and do have
that conversation, they weren't ready for it. They would rather
go what they know that comfortable, uncomfortable feeling of dealing
with the current president versus having to have another person
of color and on top of it being a female.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Okay, appreciate your opinion just as it is like facts.
I would just like to add in that my name
is not Melissa.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
But I'm sorry Boston, I'll take.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
My name is Ashley Rashida.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It was nice chatting with you.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yes, next time you caught up, it better be Ashley. Okay, Rashida,
thank you for the call.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Like I said, to each their own, everybody has an
opinion and I and I get it, so thanks for that.
Caitlin also wants to comment on the inauguration and DT
being our present.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Hi Caitlin, good morning.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Good morning. I'm so glad that I get to speak
after her, because, oh my god, how disrespectful can you
possibly be to compare it to something you want a flair?
So what you want to use the inauguration as a
way to get attention towards yourself, So you watched it
for Obama, but you won't watch it for President Trump. Like,

(04:02):
I'm sorry, but that it's just so close minded to me. Also,
I'm not a Republican or a Democrat, so I'm not
coming in here being like, oh, like you know, ah,
you know, Republican or anything. I just think we had
we had these two choices, and we got to make
the best decision out of the two. And Kamala had her.
She had her four years to show what she was about.

(04:22):
She had four years to show us, and I'm sorry
she seemed to just simply didn't come through. I don't
think it's the fact that people are are afraid of
being a woman in office. I think it's the fact
that she didn't tell she simply it doesn't have the credentials.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Let's say again, another opinion that I could entertain I
could entertain both I get it and I think I
know you said to four and like at this point
it's Trump, and I think, you know, we gotta we
gotta move forward.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
Somehow, somehow, some way, yep, we gotta figure it out.
And you know, you respect your respect of I didn't
no matter who they are.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, and listen, a lot of people voted for that man,
so that that that's also something else to keep in mind. Caitlin,
thank you so much for the call. We could do
this all day. Yeah, we could go back and forth
all day, and I'm never gonna say somebody's opinion isn't validated.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
That's why we have opinions. That's why I love the show.
Everybody to each their own.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
We're also the only show in Boston probably that would
put on political commentary this morning too, because I think
a lot of people afraid and scared to have people
on there like Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Because again that's why I said, it's like this.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Sometimes days like today aren't so fun for our job
because whatever we say is going to be put under
a microscope and people are going to try to find
Like I mean, we've gotten talk backs of people upset,
we've gotten it's it's just it is it what it is.
I just keep going back to he is our president
now and and nothing, nothing is going to change that.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
That's kind of just what it is.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
And at the end of the day, you still have
to go to work the next day, you still have
to pay your bills, you still have to be a parent, like.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
I still really need to get my toddler to consistently
poop on.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
The poddy yeah, and the right way because she's pooping
like face and back. That's all that's disturbing to
