I walked in and you looked up at me. I'm like,
oh no, I haven't. I literally in the car, it
hasn't been this bad. And I had to drive half
of the drive with the like falling asleep. I my
eyes closed a couple of times, like physically close.

I think for us or for you specifically, the challenging
thing is our schedule too, because I think most parents
can probably be up like all night or up in
the morning, maybe they go to their nine to five.

And I'm not saying one is easier than the no,
but this one, like when it comes to sleep, it's awful.

Yeah, And this job.

I'll say, like, listen, I get to be home by
one o'clock at the latest, and I get to spend
the afternoon with my kids, which is great, and a
lot of people can't say that, but you know, the
day is shrunk because you're going to bed early, because
you're up early, and it's just to.

You at minimum want to try to get like the
six hours of sleep.

I like, I don't know. I might have got to
last night. I don't know.

It's just it's crazy land over there, and the toddler
she's up a lot, screaming and yelling. And then I'll
get in there and I'll be like, like screaming, like horrifying.
You think something's really wrong. And I would go in
a room and I'd be like, what.

Because I was a livid, I said, we don't call

I mean, the baby's the baby. She can't.

Yeah, And I always I hustle in there with the
baby because she's if she's crying, she's hungry. There's no
I don't question that because she's not up a lot,
and when she is, she wants to eat. And again
it's she's eight months, like this isn't me breastfeeding and
getting up in the middle of the night, like it's
not going to be much longer, you know.

Just yesterday I was going through the area where I
have a lot of the.

Baby stuff and the layless stuff, and there were bottles
that we had tried that didn't work. So I bagged
up all the bottles to like donate, and I thought
to myself, oh my god, once this is over with
her and babyland, it's over. I'm not doing this again.
And then I get emotional thinking that that's it. Yes,
this is our unit now, we're a family of four,

and that's it. I mean this wholeheartedly. If I wasn't
thirty eight going to be thirty nine this year, I
would try one more time, which is crazy to say
because I never thought I would utter those words, but
I would.

But you're healthy.

Thirty nine Cassie just announced her pregnancy. Cassie like Diddy's
ex Cassie. She's thirty eight. She's actually born of the
same year as me, eighty six.

I don't know, dude, It's completely doable. It is. It is.

It's doable, but it's just I do the math on
it and it's like not, I just.

Well, then that's the other part because my mother was
forty four when she had my sister. My mother is
like a hundred now, so it's like it's tough, like
you've done a hundred.

But yeah, and I just want to be I want
to be around and able to do things. And it's
just the longer, you know, say, we got prentered the
end of the year and now we're talking I'm close
to forty yet. But it's just it's not it's not
in the carts and we all know my history, so
it wouldn't be like a one and done situation. It's
just but it's sad, like it's eight I'm so excited

sitting up in her crib.

And then they start talking and then next thing you know,
you're having get togethers with other like kids and boys
and all stuff.

So it's just like, what is happening now?

I keep telling these years because once they hit those teams,
everyone want they want nothing to do with you.

So many I know so many, so many parents write
me and they're like, oh my god, like cherish, you
don't have I do? I I get it, I do.
I don't sleep and I drink like twelve coffees a day.

Speaker 7 (05:04):
But can you imagine that there's gonna be a time
you're gonna miss these days. I'm gonna look at them
as an eighteen year old be like, damn, I missed
waking up and you're telling me to cover.

Your feet, do you know what?

I can't even envision them going to school and there
being times where I get home from here and no
one's at the house. That to me is like that's
not gonna happen for another five, six, seven years.

But I can't even picture.

But when that happens, it feels like freedom. It feels

like fifteen months with Leila.

start carrying their emotions on and it's just another thing.

waiting for them to patch it. And then I was like, Van, well,

hour of time to myself. I under the boxes. I

So I put up two different images, and I said, guys,
I can't decide should I do the more white wall
paper or like the creamier color. The amount of people
that wrote to me and said the cream wallpaper looks
like all everybody does in that house is smoke cigarettes. Yes,

they're like, eh, it looks like the white wallpaper was
there and then all you guys do in that house
is like disgusting and ripped sync. So now the wallpaper
is turning yellow. They just love they love to upset me.

And what's crazy about me is like I take pride

home because I take it apart d like like they're
living in filth. But they're just sending out like like

them up and I stare at them for a couple

see but can't because the new curtains are next to
the old curtains. While I'm trying to figure out which
new curt I'm gonna buy, and then I'll have to
hear that ew.

pretend you're talking to somebody that has no knowledge of
the courtroom and the court of law and all of
these things.

How would you explain it? Seems like this kind of
came out of nowhere.

I was listening to a little bit of inside the
courtroom yesterday and I noticed there was a lot of
talk about Sarah Birchmore's case and kind of getting the
public records from different detectives and conversations that happen in
that case, because there's there's some comparisons and there's some
the players that are the same.

And I was hearing a lot about that, and then
all of a sudden something changes.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
Judge Bev gets put something in front of her and
she has a grave concern. Now, for people who only
read that headline, oh my god, there's an unexpected recess
because Judge Beverly Cononi has a grave concern.

What is her grave concern? And what does that mean
for Karen Reid.

Speaker 10 (35:35):
So the great Basically, the most simplest way to put
this is Hank Brennan and Judge Beverly Canoni do not
like Alan Chattin. And what Hank Brennan did yesterday was
misrepresent the facts. He basically there were emails and there

was some type of payments to the ARKA expert to
a hide by the FBI. And what is an expert,
h they're the reconstruction Uh, they're the reconstruction experts. So
they basically were the ones that came to the conclusion
that John o'peepe was not struck by a vehicle and
carried it's vehicles did not strike John O'Keefe.

So so basically he's trying to say, hey, we see
these emails and receipts to the ARCA experts where potentially
Alan Jackson was paying them to say a certain something.

That's the way that he's trying to put it out there. Basically,
what he did was, uh, he inflamed and he got
Judge Beverly Canoni all riled up with misrepresentations of what
the defense team actually reported to the court about the
ARCA experts. Now, the biggest issue with this right is

that the defense discovery timeline is not due yet, so
all of this stuff could be turned over up until
the up until the last day, they still have time
to turn over their discovery. So Brennan is jumping the
gun saying, well, we didn't receive this, so we didn't
get this. And she's I mean, Judge Beverly Canoni the

way she acted yesterday, saying that she's engraved concern. How
about the fact that the Commonwealth is still turning video
over three years later. That doesn't concern her. The only
reason why this is such a big concern to her
is because it involves Alan Jackson, and she sees this
as a way to intimidate the defense team to basically say, oh, look,
I can now take away Alan's pro ha vicci and

and take him off this case. And for those of
you don't know what a pro hac vichi is, it's
basically Alan doesn't have a license to practice in the
state of Massachusetts, so he's practicing under David Dinetti's law license.
So she is allowing him to test to defend Karen
Reid under someone else's license. She can strip out away

if she wants.

So essentially it's just to kind of get this down
to its bare bones as much as we can.

Nick and I know it's hard to do that because
you know there's so many moving parts here.

But essentially, what Hank Brennan put in front of Judge
Bev yesterday led her to have a grave concern because
now she feels like there is a chance that Alan
Jackson was paying these ARCA experts to reconstruct in a
way that would assist Karen in her defense.

So that's yeah.

So I'm not saying that's what happened, but I'm saying
that's the way Hank is trying to present it.

That's what Judge Bev saw. That's why she had this
grave concern.

And I think I think it's more about the communication
between the defense team and ARCA than it is the
actual twenty three thousand dollars payment for travel expenses and
so forth. Got it because before the war there, which
is when they had to bring them in the first
time to see if they qualified, Allen addressed the court

and said, we've never spoken to these people, we have
no communications with these people, which at that moment was
correct and true. And then after the bardere there was
a little bit of communication back and forth, and then
majority of the communication was after the first trial, so
Hank Brennan was trying to make it seem like these

these emails were hidden and that the federal government, the FBI,
is the one that handed these emails over, and that's
where he lied because the defense team is actually the
one that he handed all these emails over. So Alan
wasn't hiding anything. He handed them over to Hank. Hank
is just saying in court that they got them from
the FBI. And then after Judge Canoni got her, you know,

took her ball and left, she she He then goes
up and goes, actually, it was the defense team that
gave it to me. When he saw how mad she was,
he backpedaled and finally said it was the defense team
that gave it to me, taught the federal government.

So after that recess yesterday, did they come back into
the courtroom.

Speaker 10 (40:01):
Yeah, everybody was still in the courtroom while she was out,
I think like on her twenty five or whatever minute break,
whatever it was, everybody was still sitting there waiting, expecting
to go over all the other emotions, right, and then
she just was like you know, if you watch the video,
she was she was out of breath, talking, she was shaking,
and it was like I personally myself, I believe she was. Uh,

it was an apt she was pretending to be so
mad that she had a call. She had a call today,
any sitting judge would be would if they were that
mad at if she was that mad at the defense team,
she would make them explain right then and right there
what you did was wrong. Explain this to me right now.

She wouldn't be that flustered where she has to go home, like,
I mean, what was that.

probably heard the craziest thing that shouldn't upset you like
that much.

Hank Brennan was saying, oh, you know she's a victim,

even charged Matthew Farwell with any crimes. Right, only the
federal government has. And Judge beb knows all these facts,
not that she's the ones to charge them. But it's
like that stuff should get you real.

to the courtroom, and I remember Hank Brennan using that line.

How he could try to act like there aren't parallels

because we're talking about a person who is dead now
because of errors in the system, because of errors on

And couldn't we say the same thing like the Canton
police really botched this case. There are a lot of
errors on the police officers, and there's similarities here. It's
not I wasn't shocked in the least that they were
asking for some of the transcript from the Sarah Burchmore case.

the same and the name is escaping me, but one
of which is the one who the guy that went

It's a chance yesterday to explain what really is going on,

to watch that because there's gonna be fireworks that go
off if you think here's the thing with Alan Jackson,
the defensing. Alan Jackson is an absolute animal. He has
he's taken down and he's gone up against a loss
a lot smarter and worse people than Judge Bev. So
if they think that they're gonna take him off this case,

they should probably think again because like I said, Alan
is an animal. And the other good thing that the
defense team has is if they so happen to potentially
get him off this case, this grounds for appeal on it,
or he just goes and takes the Massachusetts by license,
becomes becomes an attorney in Massachusetts and then she can't
kick him off the case. So when I tell you,

don't underestimate Alan Jackson, and do not underestimate this defense
team because they've they've seen and dealt with a lot
worse than Judge Beverly Canoni and Hank Brennan.

I never underestimated Alan Jackson. I've seen that man in court.
I know what he can do, all right. So next Tuesday,
the defense will will will hop off. It'll be their

was like he kind of backed up a little bit,

it was yesterday, they submitted a six hundred and ninety
nine page basically an appeal to the Supreme Court at
the federal level saying hey, listen, we need this case

heard in front.

And within the same day they set a date for
February twenty sixth the Commonwealth has to file their opposition
and then March fifth, at nine thirty am at the
Mostly Building is when the when they're going to be
heard in front of a federal judge about this. Feel
so for things to happen that fast. Basically, to get

in front of a federal judge within two weeks of
filing an appeal is a good signed.

So and wait just to just to stop down because
I know what exactly are they what's the specific appeal
here that she's being retried the double jeopardy, right.

Basically the double jeopardy. Yeah, the Supreme Court, the s
JAC denied that. So now it's now it's even above them, yeah,
which the state has nothing to do with this anymore.
So the Commonwealth is out of the question as far
as having any polls. They did have any poll Now
we're at the federal level, where you know, federal information

may not be protected to that judge. That judge may
be able to learn everything that's going on in this case.
That's why it was six hundred ninety nine pages of
an appeal for Karen Reid. So basically the prosecution has

get to a point where you realize you're a better

mom at home by getting the little break, by getting
the separation. It's hard to see that right now because
the last six months, your whole life has been inside
the home with your six month old baby, and that's
all you know. But I think once you figure out
the work balance and being you know, the work life
balance and being able to be at work and kind
of be yourself again and then go home and get
into mom mode, you just have to figure it out

in your brain. I still have days where I drive
here and I physically like feel this ping that I'm
not doing the right thing, that I should be at
home with my kids. Like I think it's just a
natural thing that us as mothers have, and I don't
know if that will ever go away, but there there
is something to being able to kind of adult and

get out of mommy mode and then hop back into
it and feel refreshed to go back.

oh my god, is the baby gonna remember me when
I get back because I was there for six months
of that.

I buy a box every time I go, and I
bring it back home with me, and I'm gonna get
a nice tub of chicken and I'm gonna bring it
back with me. Dived that up, freeze them and just
enjoy it throughout the next few weeks.
