Speaker 1 (00:01):
Dash In Morning show with DJ fourn It's Saws a
Big Morning.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Bustin's number one for hip hop jamming ninety four or five. Hi, everybody,
good morning. It is our six year anniversary. It's so
crazy because how this show all came together. Looking back

(00:26):
on it now is the story is so funny. I
I got asked to go to lunch with Dylan, our
boss's boss at the time, and he said, I'll take
you anywhere anywhere you want to go. Where do you
want to go, Like, let's go for steak? And I
knew there was big news on the horizon, so I

(00:48):
picked obviously the highest caliber meal I could think of,
Chick fil A at the Burlington Mall. I can remember
what we ate because I thought he was a loser
because he got the nugget said, weren't fried the grilled
nuggett myself from here?

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Yes, that's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I mean I don't think it was too.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
That was the closest one though, No, but I understand.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So we get there and he basically is like, listen,
it's your time, Like you know you've you've been through
it in in the radio industry on jamm and like
we have finally got to the point where it's your
time for a morning show. And I knew the weight
that held because I knew there was no other female
lead in this city. No, there's not even a lot

(01:31):
in our company. So I knew it was a big deal.
And he was like, what does that look like for you?
And I said, there is only one thing that I
have to have. That's the only way I'll feel comfortable
doing it, and that is if we get Saucy back.
And I don't want to make this a weird thing
because I know you're gonna after this, he's gonna get up,
he's gonna be like, can I hug you? But I

(01:51):
just said to him, like, there's number one. There's a
level of comfortability there. And I think anybody who is
a host of a morning show, you you need that,
like you need to feel like you have your person
in the room with you. And I told him, I
was like, I can't see myself doing it any other way.
And he's like, okay, but maybe he doesn't want to come,
Like maybe he's liking where he's at because you were
doing country at the time.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yeah, And I didn't like what I was doing.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I was about to I know, but I didn't know
that okay. I wasn't okay, so I you know, Dylan
was basically telling me, what else will you do if
he says no? And I'm like, I don't, I can't,
I don't know. I have to have this, like I'm
going to try to convince him. I'll never forget. When
I called, By the way, Dylan told me not to

(02:36):
tell Sauntie right away. I was like, first call when
I left, but he he answers the phone. I tell
him everything. He's silent, and he's like, oh, quit, I'll
quit right now. Yeah, you literally were ready to quit that.
By the way, the show wasn't even set. I hadn't
even asked foreign Like, I like nothing, and you were
going to quit? Bad day.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah. I wasn't happy where I was at. I felt
under used. I feel like my talents and being like appreciated.
I would have conversation with people like over there about
ideas that I had. I was getting ready to quit.
I got asked not to quit two different times by
my box because things were so bad over there, and
I was ready to do my own thing. When you called,
and I was like, wow, it was the excitement of
getting back into a situation where I felt like I

(03:18):
could be myself.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yes, and then it took weeks almost maybe months, It
took months. It did take months, okay. So every day
he would call me and be like, what's the status,
what's going on the spot?

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Mons, yeah, and you was just holding on.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
He was just when I tell you, he was itching
to quit, like he couldn't wait to get there. So
then finally you and Dylan figured it out.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
And and also to add some contacts into this whole thing,
Dylan had fired me, like.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah, three years before that. I was going to say,
can we keep it real? Because he was probably like
he might not want to come back because me and.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Him not Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
So we actually had to have a conversation because Dylan
needed to like understand that I was coming in back
into a the whole thing as a different person because
when I got fired from me, I was not nice.
I was I have my perspective on things were completely
like different.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So he so you did a podcast with Ramiro where
you guys talked not great about the company and Dylan,
so I could, you know, I wanted to make sure
he understood it was that was a Ramiro thing.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
That was a Romeiro thing. I was just more so
like listen, I got fired and I don't know why
why so yeah, so I so we had to talk
about like all these things, So being able to come
back into a situation like that, Dylan being fine with it,
you having that be your thing, knowing you were bringing
me back into a situation that Dylan could have been like, no,
he got fired from here. He's awful. Yeah, it's huge
for me. So when I thought of it from that perspective,

(04:40):
it was an easy yes for me.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
And I think that's why I'm always like, you know,
if anybody in the building complains about Dylan or has
seen to say about Dylan, like I don't, I absolutely,
I really don't. I can't say many bad things about
the man because when he's done and out of radio,
you know, I will be a part of his history
and him doing this, like you know, he he allowed

(05:02):
me and gave me this opportunity when I don't know
if a lot of other people were again it's it's
not normal to have a female lead. It's not.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
And for it.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
At the time, you were doing part time here, but
you were also work. You were like doing telemarketing, I think.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Right now it's customer service tank clus water heat of company. Yes,
and I used to do I used to do weekends here,
and I used to fill in during the week so
sometimes I'd call out of work to come over here
to board up for the breakfast club, which is which
is one of the reasons why they let me go,
is because one time, you know, the little supervisor tried
to say that I ain't let her know that I.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Wasn't coming in anyway. That was that was cool.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
What was funny, though, songs that you don't know is
that Ashley try to be slick, right, and she would
like ask me little questions.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Like, oh, so would you do the morning show? Could
you ever?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I'm like, why is this chick asked me these weird
asked questions like you know what I'm saying, and then
eventually came out to be.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Like all these you know what I didn't want to
do to you what I did to him, because then
he was calling me every second of every day is
a time, is a time, I'm.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I realized, But me and I'm not the same.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Here, No, I know, well listen, and that's the thing.
I knew you and I knew I wanted you on
the show, but I didn't know you know doubles that
I know now, So I was like, let me just sprinkle.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Some things in me and just talk about it here.
And then I'm not studio and I'm like, why is
she asking me that?

Speaker 2 (06:19):
I also remember too, because like DJs predominantly don't like
number one, know the schedule, but like the schedule, you know,
they they're they're usually the ones on a morning show
that are gonna be like this is terrible because I'm
in the clubs and then I gotta do this. That's
why I was like, let me even see if he
would be up for something like that.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
That's kind of and then she kind of told me
what was going on, and then she was just like, yo,
just keep it on the load. Don't say nothing, you
know what I mean. And then when they bring you
into the meeting, just acts of prize.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I'm over there, like.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
God, it was crazy. Yeah, And I was saying earlier,
I'm like, is there anybody that's been listening for a
whole six years? I know there is because people messaging
all the time that they've been listening for six years,
But we didn't get a couple of talkbacks.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
I'm not gonna call in and say I hated you,
I hated DJ Kulo.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
Is that what it was?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Sunday?

Speaker 1 (07:11):
A happy six ye University.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
You guys are awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Keep it up, DJ Cool. You don't have those skills.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Now.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
She hated me, she hated them.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
She said, I'm not gonna say I hate you, but
she didn't.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
She wasn't that.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
It doesn't sound positive, but.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
At that time, there was nothing positive about the switch,
like and kudos to Ashley for, you know what I mean,
trying to bear the weight of the thing because they
were taking shots.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
At you like crazy. It was, I know it was.
It was a tough time for a few months, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
It was, It really was. And like I said, anytime
I get a message from someone being like I was
so obsessed with the Breakfast Club and they put you on,
I hated you. I hate you. I hate you. Now
it's six years later and I'm still listening. I'm super
appreciating that, and.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm gonna keep it a hounto.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
I'm gonna keep it up buck.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Whatever they say nowadays, I rather listen to you guys
with the news. You guys talking in the blast and
listening to music.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
I listened to my music somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
The only time I vibe with the music is when
my guy DIDJ four.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
It sets up it's mixes. They'd be lit, keep it
moving strong.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
But that intro.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Gotta go switch that intro.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Already six years Okay, we did switch the intro. We
added we added kids' names to it and everything I could.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
It's not the original one.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
No, it's not our original intro. But also I don't
know if I like the intro right now.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
I like us It's iconic right class, It's got a
nice catchy beat to it.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, I mean term or not that Mike did they
think German.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Mike would totally do it if we want them to.
But I feel comfy with it with the intro right now.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
We'll ten years.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
It just wouldn't be us if whilst celebrating our six
year we didn't have like beef with another radio show.
Because this is this is so fun to be by
the way. I feel honored that we were mentioned in
this conversation because I know the real issue lies with
Kiss one away and that I know that. But we

(09:02):
we're getting thrown in, We're getting we're getting lumped in,
and I want to be friends with.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Toucher and Hardy.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yes, I've never met them.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
They're nice people.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I don't know them. Hardy, it doesn't seem like Hardy
has any beef with us.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
No, Hardy, you can tell like.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
He was looking between Toucher and the man with the
Captain hat on. I don't know who the man and guys.
If you listen to Toucher and Hardy, you might know
that Toucher had a very long standing relationship with Maddie.
They're very close, so I get it. He's defense of
his guy. I would do the same thing.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
For my people.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
But what what what what did we do?

Speaker 5 (09:37):
There are radio stations, Robbie, you might not know this
that do have AI disc jockeys.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
They are not real. They are oh yeah, kiss.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
One eight ninety four point five. All robots, ladies.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
No, No, they're just they're just boring. But what you do, well,
let's baby, But what what you do is now that
they screwed over Maddie, I have no time for them.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Listen, it is listen. I get it, defensive of his boy,
but it wasn't even that we're robots. Like I giggled
at that who's the boring things? Man?

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Okay, but we're not boring and listen, we're not boring.
But from their perspective, maybe because we don't talk sports
a lot and we don't cover like the dramatic you
I bet you.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
He's never listened to a singular second of our show.
I don't expect him to, so I don't think he
really I think this again. I think this is more like.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
A that's what I'm saying, Billy.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, beef than us. But like, while we why is
the man in the captain hack? Gotta throw us? And
who are you?

Speaker 1 (10:38):
I feel like they were talked at some point of
Maddie making appearance on that morning show from time to time,
which never came to fruition. But who who knows? But yeah,
he's like a Maddie guy, which is cool.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Yeah, like touch our let's yeah, let's be cool. Yeah,
let's hey, don't throw throw jammin in there. We're not robots.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
We're here, go back to taking shots at rich are right?

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yeah? Why why? Certainly, by the way, if you're somebody
who's been listening from the beginning, call us, I want
to here six one seven, nine, three one one five
are celebrating six years today. Hi everybody, good morning. It's
Ashley in the jam In Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Here.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I am asking if people remember us from six years
ago when we first started this show. But then we
got this talk back, which is this is back back.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
Ash I still remember when you were interviewed on the
radio when Romero had like several other co hosts come
on and we kind of got to pick you.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Freaking crushed it.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Good job, look at you all these years later. Keep
it up.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
They didn't get to pick me and Romero picked.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
That is true, That is true. Tell everybody the fun fact,
which fun fact. I was not the top You were
not the well first.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
You, and it was clear. But the top pick was
some girl from Philly, and I think the higher ups
here wanted her. They were very upset that we didn't
pick her and all this stuff. That girl was crazy,
let me tell you. So she would leave the studio
halfway through the morning show to go outside and smoke,
but she would walk around barefoot, and she just seemed off.

(12:12):
And then she made like a cancer joke that just
wasn't even close to being funny, and it was like
all these things that were happening. It was more so
the way she behaved like off that chair, Santi, you
judged the all cancer jokes.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I know, a view of all people.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
But it wasn't a funny cancer joke. Ah So, But
it was more so the way that she operated like
off the air that we could tell that this school
was nuts.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
And it's that's we've told that story before. But the
way they did it when they were when when Ramiro
and Santi were interviewing was you got two shows. So
I had two shows to basically showcase myself, and then
they had another girl in for two shows and kind
of so on and so forth. And I'm getting ready
to go to the airport. I'm dating a guy that

(12:53):
lives in Michigan at the time, and I get ready
to go to the airport and I get the notification
that my flight canceled because of the snow because we
in Brighton and it was just it was a terrible snowstorm. Anyway,
I have to then call Santi and say like, hey,
my flight got canceled, so nice to me on the phone.
Oh my godsh I'm so sorry. Yeah, I will pick
because you were the one picking people up from the
airports and stuff. We totally get it. So obviously I

(13:17):
put on the show that day to kind of, you know,
do my research, and these two lighting me up. She
doesn't care, she doesn't want this, like she's on a
real well she thinks she's better than I.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Just get here.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
If she really cared, she would be here. So just
on and on and on and on, and then I
remember you guys said to me, and if you want,
like you could do the news, like you could do
the entertainment. And I took that serious. So when it
was time and me, I was like, all right, I'm
doing entertainment. Like I said, I was gonna do entertainment,
and then then I never stopped doing entertainment.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
No, it was the fact that you came in here
and you were vulnerable, you were fun, You went with
the flow of things. That was super clear. But you
you like mix with us so like perfectly.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah. Yeah, And now that's crazy that she remembers that.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Do you remember the bit that we did the first
day we did something and somehow you we like asked
you if we could get or no, it would ask you.
But it led to us getting into your vault like
the nude picture and you showed up live on the air.
I forget what the whole set up was, Like I'm
explaining it.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yeah, so creepy, So you've been creepy from this way.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
It wasn't that, but the bit was so funny and
it was like a memorable thing. And I think from
that point, I'm like, man, this girl's down well and.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I still am man like that's I always say. And
I think that's actually when we started this show, before
we before we begin I had no questions with that.
With you, I knew. And even six years later, somehow
Forren still has a job because he lied to me
that day and said he would tell us stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah, yeah, completely.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
He was like, oh yeah, open book.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Well I think people don't understand like this job, Yes,
you gotta come on the air talk, but you have
to open up your lives and sometimes it leads to
bad conversations when you get home too.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Yeah. Yeah. At least we know in the six years
that we found out that he likes to walk girls
like Dodge in the bedroom, which was a huge reveal
for him. It's also that's like he's disgusting
