Two lifelong Houston sports guys named Adamtalking Your Teams series. Adam Clinton and
Adam Wexler are the A Team.A it is dumb wex Hey, welcome
into a Wednesday edition of The ATeam here on Sports Talk seven ninety.

(00:25):
Yes, his name is Adam Wexlerand I have the same first name,
but my last name is Clanton. And then our producer is the showkiller Dan
Matthews. As we take you upuntil six o'clock tonight and we get you
know, start getting anticipatory of atenth consecutive Rockets victory. And here's the
thing. Wex anticipatory. Yeah, you're not getting anticipatory about this time tomorrow.

(00:53):
Uh yeah, but I'm littly.Yeah, it's just opening Day.
They got one hundred and sixty twoof them. Don't interrupt me. Well
that's what you would say, openingDay A day away. Okay, let
me let me stay away. Seeif I can do this. We're trying
to get back to again. You'replaying the role of Adam Clanton. So
I'm gonna see if I can dothis perfectly like wex would do. It's
just another game. It's just oneof one. This is like the only

(01:15):
one that isn't it's opening Enemy.Oh they started a few hours bring it
down Friday night before the seven o'clockRun of the Mill. Yes, exactly,
but Thursday it's not. It's notRunning the Mill because it's on Apple
TV and so you can't watch it. It's Run of the Mill for us
because we're the home would be theiryel home, like we bring you all

(01:36):
the games. Have you figured outwho the crew is yet? I actually
was researching that today and could notdetermine next time. I feel like it'll
be Wayne, Dontrelle and Heidi. If I were to guess Wayne Delshafino,
Wayne an investigative journalist doing an astrosplaywifelf Well, there's two Apple TV games
on one early one late. Yes. If I told you the late game

(01:57):
was an LA Dodgers game game, who do you think would do that crew?
If I told you who was thenumber one crew and the number two
crew, I could tell you,but I don't know which is which.
I know who's doing color on thatgame? The late game with the Dodgers
involving the Dodgers, you know who'sdoing the color? I can tell you.
I go right now. Would youlike to know. Yes, Pete
Rose, so there's some good PeteRobes hiring a new interpreter memes. Plus,

(02:21):
he contributed his own audio, sayingI wish I saw that. It's
so good. He's right, it'sjust because I really helped myself today with
an earlier quote tweet of the WillSmith contract. Dude, what are they
doing? I mean, I getit, I guess, but like,
it's fourteen million bucks for a catcher, No problem, he's one of the

(02:43):
best catchers in baseball. It's areasonably good deal. And who knows how
much of the money is deferred towhen he's forty what's interest? Yeah,
they just had They are doing whatI thought the Yankees would do. Like,
look at the Yankees just letting JordanMontgomery signed with a diamondback so they
can lose their diary actually care aboutbaseball again after what they did last year.

(03:05):
Their rotation is exceptional. Okay, well, they already got to the
World Series without two of those guyson the team because the Dodgers crap the
bed again. Well, in additionto the one team you always remember to
crap on that's super talented that didn'twin the World Series. Yeah, Braves
are there too. Oh yeah,I know. They didn't represent the National

(03:27):
League in the World Series either, and they don't even have as good of
a front office as they did beforethe Astros rated it. That's Dana Brown
is here. That is correct.Every time I see or hear Dana,
I have to say it, likeAri, Dana Gordon, Dana Brown.
No, but like like, okay, So they're gonna come in what third
in the division because they're caring aboutbaseball. I think they'll make the playoffs,

(03:49):
and I think they might have abetter than average chance to finish second,
even though we've talked about how muchbetter the Giants are. I mean,
look, the two biggest non importstarting pitching free agents both went to
that division and not the Dodgers. The three biggest free agents starting pitchers all
went to that division. When youadd Yamamoto, that's incredible. And again,

(04:12):
all of them are National leaguers andgreat. None of them went to
the Yankees. None of them wentto the Yankees. The Yankees, with
Nestor Cortes and Carlos Redon and MarcusStroman and Clark Schmidt the expected four starters
against the Houston Astros starting tomorrow. The Astros have not yet announced their fourth

(04:33):
starter, although after last night's dismantlingof the Space Cowboys lineup, at least
Manager Joe A. Spodek knowledge toRenel Blanco on a very special day for
Renel that he is in the rotation. He just didn't commit to whether he's
pitching the last game against the Yankeesor helping them pitch their way through the
Blue Jays who follow into town.He and his he has a new baby

(04:56):
that he was with throughout the morning, and then rolled on over to the
ballpark ruck out quite a few SpaceCowboys game double figures last night as the
Astros wrapped up their exhibition schedule, and the biggest moment of the game,
if you were listening here on SportsTalk seven to ninety, the brushback buzzing

(05:17):
the tower. JP France nearly hitI don't think he was going to hit
him in the face. He merelyhit him in the shoulder with a high
heater. And of course before Altuve, who flipped out of the way backwards
before he was even in the dirt, he was already smiling about it,
already laughing it off. And takeone to the cranium for your you know,

(05:42):
franchise face right because the World BaseballClassic pre regular season hit by pitch
from last year wasn't a game thatdid matter to Jose, so he made
his way over to first base.Bregman put another one over the fence,
and the Astros have made it providednobody gets hurt on today's off day to
the opener. Does Lordy own amonster truck that they might be washing in

(06:05):
the rain right now? I mean, anybody can make up a story,
so you don't have to stick withthat one, Jeff. You can make
up any story, Jeff, makeit believable. I got hurt when my
son hit a whiffle ball back atme at two hundred exit velocity miles per
hour, and now I have abruised pinky. You could say anything strong.
It couldn't doesn't have to be,Knox. I just figured it was

(06:26):
top of mine since we had theentire family on it certainly could be.
But yes, the Rockets are alsoin action tonight. They have the Oklahoma
City Thunder, and for only thesecond time this season, the Thunder will
attempt to win a game without theservices of Shay Gilges Alexander, one of
the top candidates for MVP and definitelydeserves it. He and his team scored
the final twelve points of last night'sgame to flip a five point deficit into

(06:50):
a seven point win over the Pelicans. But all important teams to the Rockets
were on the court last night. The team they played tonight Oklahoma City,
who be the Pels. Back toback at the Rockets getting advantage on Now,
that's correct. As I told youover the course of the season of
complaints, it happens to everybody. When they played the Celtics, Lakers and

(07:12):
Warriors, both were playing last night, both were winners, and both will
be back on the court tonight. So the gap between the Rockets and the
Warriors for the final spot and theplay in tournament rose by half a game.
They hit into play tonight, onegame back of that ten spot,
the play in tournament spot. Again, a tie for tenth with the Warriors
would not be advantageous to Houston, but rather advantageous to the Nets, who

(07:36):
would then be assured of having theRockets in the lottery. They could still
be in the lottery if they makethe play in tournament because two of the
four teams at each conference that makethe play in tournament, end up in
the lottery when they lose out onseeds seven and eight. It's very convoluted.
I'm it's so simple. I donot. I'm not gonna say I

(07:57):
hate. I'm just gonna say Ido not like you hate. People say
it's confusing. It's not. Ididn't say confusing. I said convoluts.
Words are synonyms, they're not synonymarThere's simply two words that start with a
con. Are you telling me verydifferent meaning went to the Google machine,
they would not be listed. Yes, I guarantee you. I'm not going
to look. I won't even checkmy work, dude. Convoluted and confusing

(08:18):
are two very different concepts. Doyou want me to at least get the
audio of the pronunciation on Google?Of course I do. That's never a
question. But convoluted is very muchapropos here, So yeah, I did
another word. Apropos never say it. Well, you know what's simple?
You said simple? Right, thatwas the term you used to describe the
situation. Probably I probably said rathersimple. Okay, Rather simple would be

(08:39):
Hey, the keep the seeds getto go to the playoffs. How it's
always been? Look how much moreinteresting. It is now convoluted. That's
what interesting means. So would thewould the yackers that complain about having to
talk about the Lakers and Warriors?Nobody complains does all the time, and
Kendrick perk it just because they're well, that's because they're saying this is stupid.

(09:01):
These teams have no chance to win. Why are we always talking?
They don't understand the assignment? Whatif there was no playing tournament? Where
would the conversation be. The Lakersare on the outside looking in and with
eleven games, can you know howthe conversations there? Do you think they
can make the conversation would get there? What a ride they're gonna take us
on? And then Charles would say, they being damn basketball team that's been

(09:22):
terrible all season and I don't knowwhy you're talking about it. Let's talk
about the eight teams that are inthere, that's what and that then it
would end and you would go ontalking about teams that matter, because the
Lakers don't. I don't care howmany times Austin Reeves hits a three pointer
so that we can avoid triple overtime. Because the Bucks can't get it together
with their hoofy lineup. Do youwant to hear what Kendrick Perkins doesn't sound

(09:45):
like when he's talking bad about theLakers? Can I hear what he's talking
When he's talking bad about Draymond Green, he says, you, good man,
it's all saying you could smell doodlebefore you see it. We must
have made a doodoo the whole seasonalone when it comes out to the Lakers,
Like Dad, they're sitting in anice spot. So what are we
talking about? First of all, they gotta get into the postseason. That's
number one. Lebron James don't evenhave expectations for this Lakers team. He

(10:09):
knows that they trash. He knowsthat they can't make any noise. It's
almost like you're listening to Adam Perkins. He's exactly one thousand percent right.
Why are we talking about them? The only reason we are is because some
dumb made up rule that looks likeRob Manford did it during COVID. That's
what this looks like. How couldwe make it more interesting? Well,

(10:31):
they could actually make the top eightif there was no playing tournament, but
today they are ninth. As someonewho realizes that the team we both root
and work for is benefiting from thiscurrent setup. It's ridiculous. Yeah,
I don't really think so. It'sstupid. It causes things to be convoluted

(10:52):
and just nonsensical and overly dramatic, but not in a good way. It's
just dumb. It's like it's atry hard thing, just like putting a
stupid runner that never earned their wayon a second base. It's not different.
The comparison that brings them together isthey're new. We are not trusting
very fans of our sport to just, you know, go with the rules

(11:15):
that have been there for bazillions ofgames. So we ad something and improved,
not unnecessarily. No, what isit made that happened? I wish
baseball still only had one guy whocould hit the ball over the fence during
the Bay Ruth era, now wherehe would hit more homers than every other
player in base that's not the sameat all combined. It's not it's that

(11:35):
this is just this is unnecessary stuffthat they're just throwing out there because they
can't just trust their own game tohold people's attention. Here in twenty twenty
four, because there's more options,it's more channels. Wrong to protect Rafael
Montero's arm by not having him pitchthree and four extra innings. Just one
will be done by the tenth oreleventh. You don't have to go crazy.

(11:56):
Can we just never see him pitch? You made me so mad this
segment. Yeah that I had tolook up convoluteds synonyms. The first word
is complicated, not confusing. Thethird word is confusing. No, it's
not. I'm looking at that.No you're not. You're looking at some
something that somebody tweeted you some bummhmm with an egg for a face.
That could be true. All right, Well, so do we have today?

(12:20):
We got a big show for everybody. We got a long way to
go. We got tickets to giveaway to go see Varsity Blues with James
Vanderbeek over at the House of Blues. We will have our signature segment coming
up at four fifteen. What bit, what we steal? We'll have to
wait and see. We got ourJV update as he was on the bump
yesterday prepping for we don't know yet, but you're gonna have to wait for

(12:41):
the update. And all sorts ofother greatness from the NFL on the off
season Texans were busy signing an additionalhealthy, awesome, helpful player to the
squad earlier this afternoon. Reportedly,Well gets all those things. As we
continue here on the A team backto Adam Clinton had Adam Wexler two a's
Hey, h the eighteen on fourTalk seven ninety you're a home for your

(13:05):
home teams and these two apps. Why did you play the music over the
guy calling us the bad name Dan. That's such a showkiller thing to do.
Why would you do that in thesecond segment of the show? Well,
I mean because we got to getto a JV update. Oh that's
moving, let's go. I forgot. This is like the only off day
for like the next twenty two daysfor the Houston Astros, right twenty one,
straight out of the gate. AmI mistaken on that. I believe

(13:26):
that's the case. They've got obviouslyfour with the Yankees. By the way,
just before we get to the importantnews of the day regarding justin Verlanders
do not have an off day untiltheir homestand ends. Oh that's right.
So the day before the all importantrematch, which is the only people that

(13:48):
will be calling it that are Rangersfans because they allow about your full and
complete focus on Rockets Warriors April fourth. You know, it's nice of Shay
Gilder Alexander not to play tonight sinceJimmy Butler rolled over and died last night
for the Warriors. Oh, hewon by fifteen, very impressive. Who'd
they play? Nobody again? Justworry about what you can take care of,

(14:11):
which is the Rockets. The Warriorssuck. Granted, they almost suck
as much as the Lakers. Theyare better on the road than they are
at home, so winning on theroad is not crazy. So that's the
exact opposite of the Rockets. Thatis correct, except the current version of
the Rockets is awesome. And whereverthey play that Warriors game is here?
Is it not? It is?It's the only game of the season.
They're playing the Warriors in Houston. No, they played them here earlier,

(14:33):
didn't they and did not win. That's right, Well, they haven't beaten
the Warriors yet because the Warriors areso good. That was the third game
of the year, the home opener. Why did Jimmy Butler not play last
night? He's a real player. He still had multiple players not available to
them that matter, especially shooters Robinsonwas out? Hero was out? Oh,
Duncan Robinson was out? Yes?Who else was out? That was

(14:54):
such a great shooter for the MiamiHeat. Well, those, to me
are their best too. That's shouldbe enough. Hero out who misspells the
word hero for his last name? Was he out to most people don't seem
to mind. Was he busy withan Instagram model of some sort? So
he's an NBA player? You know, the Heat could be so great and
they're just not. And it's hilariousto me. I think they've pretty much

(15:15):
maxed out their greatness, That's whatI'm saying. Well, why will they
there's a good peaked They are goodfor who they are. I think they're
at the high end of what theirtalent is like performance wise. They've been
to the finals with this group.I know. That's pretty awesome years ago.
Yeah, but other teams in theirconference are more talented and doing less.
See, but I don't that's notto me, that's not the problem.

(15:37):
There are other teams as talented thatare better than them, like for
instance, let me look, Imean just back. First of all,
let's recognize one very important fact withthe Heat run by pat Riley and Eric
Spolstra. The NBA hates them forone reason. They know how unimportant the
regular season is. They prepare themselvesto be at their best in the postseason.

(15:58):
Most are not as talented as them, and they're two seats higher,
and they're way worse. Put themin a series together, the Heat mops
the floor with them. In myopinion, the Magic are trying to win
basketball game. Yes, the Heatare trying to crack forty wins on the
year. They're going to mop thefloor with who That's what I mean.
They're They're regular season right in frontof them. Are better? They have
a better record, No, they'rebetter. They're not better. You are

(16:21):
what your record says you are inthe regular season. You don't think the
Pacers could beat the Heat in theseven game series. I think they could.
I can't believe we're talking about thisin the second segment. Not predicted.
No, I think they could.Yes. By the way, the
Sixers, when fully healthy, arebehind the Heat, and they're way more
talented if they're on the court.Yeah, well, Joel and beat his

(16:41):
quickly becoming yao ming. Sorry,Darryl, but you're about to go two
for two with me. He wasto me, he was there first.
He was already hurt when he gothere his first year, hurt all year.
Him and Ben Simmons and several otherplayers have gone that route. One
of the players the Rockets are playingtonight, Chet Holmgrin. Yeah. But

(17:03):
see with Chet, I'm like, why is this happening? He weighs like
eighty pounds, soaking wet, whereasYao was three hundred pounds and Joelle Embiid
is probably close to that. Imean, oh, very built. God,
They're not identical injuries by any means, but two thins, Chet and
KD and Yeah, by the way, I had foot problems that sidelined them

(17:23):
for either a career in Yao's caseor an entire season basically in the other
two. I remember how worried peoplewere more worried about Durant's foot long term
than they ever were about him havinga knee search I as worried as they
were about Odin's foot. I'll neverforget Bill Simmons talking about walking by those
two at the draft before the draftand thinking to himself, don't do it,

(17:45):
Portland, You're gonna do it again. And they did it again.
They did Sambuie again, you deservewhatever comes your way if you're the Blazers
organization and you screw up two draftsthat badly. You had Jordan and you
had Durant sitting right there, andyou took a stiff and another stiff.
Big mistakes. But going back toChad Holmgren real quick since the Rockets play

(18:07):
them tonight. Mmm, I hatethat. I like him. He's funny,
Like have you seen his Twitter accountfor example? Just a bio.
He doesn't take himself seriously. Ithink he's picking his nose in his picture.
I wish I could remember who itwas with he's funny. I think
it was even before he played,so it was either very very early this
year, before the season, orsometime last year. He was on a

(18:30):
podcast with two a basketball podcast. Both of the hosts were female, and
one of them asked him who's themost famous celebrity in your phone? And
he said, hmm, that's prettyfuny. Would you consider yourself a celebrity?
And she goes, oh, uhno, probably not. I couldn't

(18:51):
even tell you. But he wasobviously taking he was shooting his shot was
Andrews, No, it was not. She's taken. Do you know she's
reportedly dating I do. What's hisname? Uh, it's Dave. What's
his last name? Us math mouthpiecefor the Lakers. That's his last name.
Okay, that's his last name.Just real quick though, the fact

(19:17):
that Chet Holmgren you got shake GillesAlexander. I'm looking up and down the
roster. There's not an unlikable guyon the roster unless you get to Josh
Giddy, who's a total douche.There's two, I think, really,
who's the other one. I'm tornon this because I don't really dislike him,
but he's had some Hayward No,he's had enough history with this team

(19:37):
that I kind of feel he fallsin that category. Dort would be unlikable.
He's just a hard nosed who's actuallya decent dude. So, okay,
I'll go with just Giddy. I'mjust giddy to go with you on
that one. Gordon Ayward is notunlikable. He's just in a situation where
his game is gone. I'm sorry, but I just I cannot understand how
the Oklahoma City Thunder is still pressingfor the top seed in the West with

(20:00):
Josh Giddy as their starting two guard. You know, Josh Gitty is a
tall, slightly richer version of RickyRubio. He can't put the ball in
the basket. He's a total liability. But he's a good ball handler.
He's tall, he helps them extendpossessions. He's a walking pro commercial.
He helps take a little bit ofthe ball handling pressure off of Shay because

(20:22):
otherwise his usage rate would be evenhigher than it is. But yeah,
he's a guy that they will beeven if the off court stuff didn't matter,
and I don't know if it does. To Sam and the rest of
the people running the Thunder, that'sthe guy that they will be pushing out
as fast as possible. It's maybeCason Wallace that will be pushing him hardest.
Another smart acquisition in the draft thatthey made that others don't. But

(20:45):
they also knew that they were strugglinga little bit depth wise. That's why
they took a chance on Heyward, and they quickly found out he's so unfortunately
unhelpful to I can't decide, doyou or do you not like Sam Presty?
Oh? I don't like him,But why don't you like him?
I don't like if if I wasrunning a team, and my GM said,
I know we went to the finalslast year, but instead of trying
to get back to get back tothe finals this year, I don't want

(21:07):
to lose one of our good players. So I'm going to extend him.
And I'm talking about Serge Ebaca, and then I'll get to James Harden and
instead of extending him, I'll givehim an ultimatum to accept our undermarket value
offer and see what he says inan hour, and then I'll ship him
off and ensure we don't visit thefinals again. Yeah, but that's good

(21:29):
for the Rockets, so you shouldlove him. I am looking at it
from an objective observer of National BasketballAssociation matters, probably has the worst booboo
from a transactional standpoint the last yearanything. It's that you just play out
the season. What was that firstround of lamb What was his name?

(21:52):
Oh yeah, I guess that's whatthat Jeremy he played for Now he plays
for the Rockets. Okay, Butif you just play out the season and
he literally means nothing to your franchiseever again, you get nothing for him.
Heck, he gets hurt. Whatever, You're still moving forward with Westbrook
and Durant, and you didn't haveto kick a season to the curb for,
in my opinion, no reason seasonafter making the finals. Dumb.

(22:15):
Yeah yeah, I get that,Okay, but that's not a reason to
hate the guy. That just meanshe made a bad mistake. Well,
what makes you hate a lot ofpeople when they act stupid? No,
when a lot of people love them, and you know how dumb it is,
So you don't like that he getsmore love than say, whoo,
Darryl Morrigan. It's just, oh, this guy's gonna great. They have

(22:36):
stockpiled all these draftics. They haveall this talent. Awesome, Hey,
what's Danny Ainge up to? Like? You can have all the talent you
want, You can make all theseshrewd moves, but the results at some
point have to be there. Andthat's the same argument people had against the
GM here in Houston. The movesthat Daryl made were smart, They did
add talent. They won almost everytrade till they didn't, and he stopped

(22:59):
running the team and he let hisbest player run the team, and they
continued on a course which he's continuedin his new stop of not winning.
But you and I both know ifDarryl Morey could come back here right now
and take the reins from Rafel's stone. As is, nothing has changed,
all the deals that have been made, the good ones, the bad ones,
and every point in between. Andhe had the chance to continue to

(23:22):
build this thing, he'd probably he'dbuild a title team. He would he
should have won in twenty eighteen. And we all know it. That's true,
that's fair. Scott Foster bleeped themin the bleep, bleeping bleeper.
He also yes, he did nothelp. I can't stand that, I
know, because other people love himso much. When we start doing this
show on who loves him? That'swhy I was joking to our conversation.
When we start doing this show oncamera, can I wear my shirt that

(23:45):
I got from Clutch Fans, youknow the one It's foul, it's profane.
No, it's bleeped out. OhI know there's three asterisks there in
an f He don't think I shouldwear that on camera that has an employee
of an NBA team, that's aperson foul. Okay, all right,
when we come back, we'll actuallyget to the JV update next Houston,

(24:07):
it's your home team here anytime anywhere. I love your hole team. We'll
go Rocket Go. Just tell yoursmart device splice Sports Talk seven ninety on
iHeart Radio playing Sports Talk seven ninetyon iHeartRadio. Hey, Dan, have
you noticed what I've done all week? It's Wednesday? Have you noticed what
I've done every single day this week? No, you gotta fill me in.
I've managed to push the JV updatepast where it needed to be at

(24:32):
the expense of my co host, super strict. It has to be in
a certain place. Well, itused to be on the rundown in a
certain place until it wasn't again unlesswas going on and more people were freaking
out that JV was heard. Ifeel exact, I feel it personally attacked
by that comedy is so heard.I don't know when if he's oh my
god, he came to camp andhe's hurt by the way they are screwed
programming note as it pertains to this, tomorrow we will have Chandler Roman site

(24:57):
so seeing again. And if youguys are coming over to say hi to
us, and you're like, well, I'm just gonna go say hi to
them during the A team, wellit's not gonna be happening because the game
will be on. Don't forget we'rehosting for Matt Thomas because he can't be
bothered with hosting his own show onopening Day. So we'll be out there
from exactly twelve until two forty pm. Well that's when we'll be hosting.

(25:18):
We'll be there before that. Soif you want to come say hello,
definitely do that. And if you'rean Astros fan that blames Chandler Rome for
everything, like the fact that theydidn't sign Blake Snell, you can try
and do it in person because Iwould love, love, love, love
love to see that interaction in person. I really would. Some of you
guys don't appreciate what you have herechilling them. We're gonna get Blakes.

(25:41):
No, we didn't get him becauseyou ain't. There really no edicle.
Stop blaming Chandler Roome for everything thatyou think should or shouldn't happen to your
baseball team. It's sad, it'ssomething a Yankees fan would do. Think
about this as we get to theJV update. They have obviously always looked
to improve the team, specifically thestarting pitching. They will head into the

(26:02):
season without making a single starting pitchingacquisition ahead of this season and they'll lose.
Well how many they went into campbefore anybody arrived, they already knew
two guys were not available, andthey won't be available for several months if
at all. Right, that's justbeing you know, who knows. They'll
all probably be available at some point, but Luis Garcia and Lance McCullers or

(26:25):
junior currently unavailable and they're a couplemonths away from maybe being available. And
then day one, two more pitcherssaid this is not where I want things
to be. JP Frantz, whowas not ready to ramp it up at
all and participate normally in spring training, and Justin Verlander. Okay, so
that's four, and then Jose Orcadijoined the party. Right, awful party.

(26:51):
This party of five is like wayworse than Nev Campbell's show awful awful
parties. There's something in the punchand it's not spiked. It's just a
party. You don't want to attendthe I L party. And they'll all
be on it, other than JPFrantz because things have gone well during his
opportunity to get ready for the season. By the way, so we're finds
of Nev Campbell, right, Yes, we're fans of hers. All right,
I mean huge is probably a largerword than I would use, even

(27:15):
though it's only four letters. Iam speaking for so I said than I
would use. I didn't you knowsay that you can't use it more than
welcome to what's your favorite role?Dan? I mean scream, She's fantastic?
Wrong, there you go, Houseof Cards. Billy explains to her
why he's the murderer. Spoiler alert, Which one is that? Scream six

(27:37):
or or is it Ulrich? That'sArich? So, yes, we are
fans. We would we would attenda screening of one of her movies or
shows if she was having a nightwith Nev Campbell. Damn right, But
hey man, take it easy andput your pants back on separate rooms,
which is nice. It is rightnow. So that's five guys, not

(27:59):
av How many teams can withstand fiveguys, and yet everyone is picking them
to win the division. So forthe idiots, one of those five will
pitch. We just don't know whenJP Frantz the other members of the starting
rotation, Hunter, Brown, Javier, and Valdez reverse order. They'll go
one, two, three, andyou will likely use Blanco and Bilac at

(28:21):
the beginning of the season, Blancomight actually be in the rotation permanently.
There's only so much you can do. He's got to go out and prove
it at the major league level now. But I do think he'll be on
the ball club. Last year, when he made the team out of camp,
it was to help them get throughand then when everybody was ready to
go, he was gonna get sentdown. That's exactly what happened this year.
I think it'll be a little bitdifferent. But while we have the
fifty six seconds still, why don'twe get to the JV update JV update

(28:48):
from the man himself when he throwslive VP, how does he feel?
Let him tell you JV yesterday afterhis second live BP tell us about it.
Stuff was really good mechanically, sawa lot of stuff after getting off

(29:10):
the mound last time that I wasable to address and kind of implement.
And I haven't been able to lookat some of the video, but just
based on feel which I liked itbased on that was great. It was
great. That's all. I hearda bunch of other stuff. He said
stuff several times, then he endedit with great was that a word?

(29:32):
Salad response that he just gave us. Well, let's determine that based on
what he also liked about his outing. I'm felt good. One of the
biggest things that I was wanting tosee you today was how I bounced back
after resting in between innings. Oneof the one of the things been difficult
for me for the last couple ofmonths, like getting my intent up quickly,

(29:55):
and you know, so say, after resting for six or seven minutes,
kind of go out there and justkind of go, you know,
get back to ninety plus month's towerand in a few pitches, and I
felt like that I was able tocheck that box. Checking boxes. That's
what this calendar related pushback of whenhe's ready is all about. There's been

(30:15):
no injury, there's been no setback, there's been no I'm not sure where
things are headed. That's just beena timeline thing. A couple weeks,
is what he said. He wasbehind schedule when the spring training portion of
his year began, and they probablyplayed it a little bit slower than they
would have if they really thought thatbeing ready by opening day was something they
wanted or felt like it wasn't outof the realm. Once they realized that,

(30:37):
then I think they slowed down thework, and you actually heard Brian
McTaggart say that earlier today when hewas on with The Matt Thomas Show.
So what lies ahead is unknown, but as we mentioned the other day,
he will pitch in the state ofTexas. I would assume multiple times before
he pitches for the Houston Astros andtheir minor league club. Is both being

(30:57):
here in Texas and one of themplaying in the Texas League will help do
that. The schedules for both. The Space Cowboys do open their season this
coming weekend. They have Round Rockgames through Sunday. Then they are at
home for the typical portion of theirseason if you don't recall, they play
it like this. Tuesday to Sunday. They play six game series against whomever

(31:21):
they have, whether it's home orroad, so they are home for Vegas
after that. So the first ninegames of their season through April seventh are
all in the state, six ofwhich are in Sugarland and Corpus. If
they want to go that route. They start their season a week from Friday
at home Midland, a six gamerwith Frisco there and then a six gamer

(31:41):
with San Antonio. I could bewrong, but maybe after all those games
have been played through about the twentyfirst of the month, which is Sunday.
I wouldn't put it out of therealm of possibility that that would be
his last needed rehab appearance and hecould get it up to about eighty five
pitches, which is a number hementioned yesterday, because unlike the Rangers and

(32:02):
their plan to bring Nate Eavaldi backlast year, he's a bum. He
didn't want to hamstring the team.He didn't want to put them in a
bad spot knowing that he could onlygo thirty thirty five, forty pitches.
So he wants to get it towhere he knows he can help the team
win. Give him six innings, get through eighty five pitches, whatever,
something like that. So maybe duringmaybe a couple of starts late April,

(32:22):
it would be doctor Wexler's unscientific forecast. All right, sounds good. Well,
that is your JV update, longwinded of course, for the day,
and we will continue wrapping things uphere in the three o'clock hour and
getting you into our number two, which will include ticket giveaways and our signature

(32:42):
segment where we steal a bit fromanother show on the station. It's all
and a whole lot more around thecorner on a Wednesday edition of The A
Team. Back to Adam Clinton andAdam Wexler The A Team on Sports Talk
seven ninety. You know, onething with talk about yesterday was and we
I mean we've talked about in thepast, but the XFL style kickoff being

(33:07):
approved. We talked extensively about theconcept of it when it was presented.
I mean, I don't think Ithought there would be that kind of overwhelming
support for it, though, Imean it is it's absolutely convoluted. Is
that is this one convoluted? Isthat fair to say, Like, if

(33:29):
you're just reading the rule, Iwould say it's fair to say because my
initial reaction to it was totally wrongbecause I didn't really realize how I read
it. They explained it, andI missed it completely. What part did
you miss about where the kicking team'snon kickers were being asked to line up.
I thought they were much further awayfrom the contact zone, which would

(33:51):
mean the ball gets touched inside thetwenty yard line and your players are thirty
thirty five forty yards away at thatmoment, soomatically the guy is gonna get
fifteen yards maybe twenty, and onceit gets past that first line, then
you're looking at huge, huge gainswhere in fact they're they're all on the
opposite side of the field, allof the players other than the person booting
the ball, they're only about potentiallytwenty yards away, depending on where in

(34:15):
the landing zone the final twenty yardson the field the kick goes. And
then in watching a lot of itin action in the XFL, I can
see what special teams coaches are goingto want to try to do. And
I think we might actually see alot more trickery on it because so many
players are going to be bunched together, the ability to reverse it, you

(34:36):
know, via a trick play, you know, a Frank Whychek pass if
you will, could really be afake spreamely an illegals it was was real,
but it was some say not legal, got them nothing, just a
trip to the super Bowl with nowin. But yeah, I do think
that it will increase activity initially, and then we'll get to see how teams

(34:59):
really want. So how do youwant to play it? Do we want
to just give them the ball straightup and have no return? Are we
really confident in the group that wehave that once he catches the ball at
the seven, and our kicker canconsistently kick it between the twenty and the
ten, and I think that willbe no issue at all. I mean,
I was amazed at how many teamswould actually want to kick the ball
short of the goal line with lastyear's rules to ask them to return it.

(35:22):
No, you should never do that. Under last year's rules, you
should kick it out of the endzone every single time, which was the
vast majority of kickoffs, which iswhy this new rule is here. Because
teams realize how silly it was toeven offer the opponent an opportunity to return
it. If you offer him noopportunity to return it, and they get
the ball at the twenty five, that's awesome. That's great. Anything at
the twenty five and closer to theend zone you're fine with. So why

(35:44):
risk it. Oh we might tacklehim at the twenty one. Oh he
might bobble it, and we'll gethim at the nineteen. Who cares.
Just give it to him at thetwenty five, because the alternate outcomes are
awful. He returns into the forty, you kick it out of bounds,
he returns it for whatever, whichjust made no sense. This should probably
have special teams coordinators really working onthis a lot to kind of get their

(36:07):
best idea of what they have froma coverage standpoint, to stop it to
that end, you know, theTexans are trying to make sure their coverage
units are just as good as they'vebeen. And I noted this on social
media, and I have many timeshere on the show. We keep talking
about Nick Caseario's job in his threeseasons as GM. The first two years
was done a certain way and nowit's being done a very different way.

(36:30):
The one thing that never changed heactually had a commitment to putting real good
plus special teamers on the field, specifically coverage players, and they resigned Neville
Hewitt today, who takes almost nosnaps defensively now maybe literally zero as a
linebacker. First couple go rounds herehe was used in a smaller role,

(36:51):
but it used at least a little. He's a great special teamer. He's
one of the best special teamers inthe NFL. The Pro Bowler for special
teams in the NFC last year wasJalen Reeves Mabin. He was a Texan
right before he went to the Lions, another signing of Nick Cassario's. They
put time and effort into giving FrankRoss legitimate special teams, specific players,

(37:13):
and in return, he's given themthe best special teams unit in his time
here, the whole time here.As an aggregate, they have had the
best special teams in the NFL withFrank Ross as their coach, and it's
a huge asset. You tweeted aboutthe importance of that we have differing opinions
on special teams, It's not.I mean, it's a necessary evil in
my opinion. That's what I meanwhen I say that I hate it.

(37:36):
I hate kicking of all. Sorry, John Weeks, Sorry, I just
hate it. I wish you couldeliminate it from the game altogether. That
would have been my way to goabout it. I don't like the fact
that, you know, kicker candetermine the outcome of a game in which
he's done absolutely nothing outside of thatkick a lot in a lot of situations
the entire afternoon. But I digressin that vein. Since you do think

(37:59):
so hart of, for example, the Texans special teams, I'm assuming you're
a big fan of Is it Darren, Rizzy or Ritzy it's Ritzy. Ritzy.
It's the special teams coordinator for theSaints, right, a guy who
made this or had a big partin making this rule that was, by
the way, passed by a voteof twenty nine to three. I believe

(38:20):
you said it was the Packers, the forty nine ers and the Raiders that
dissented. Good memory. Yes,I just well, you need twenty four
of the thirty two owners to passsomething, so they blew that out of
the water. But I'm assuming youthink he is a good special tea.
Yeah, And he was, likeyou said, he wasn't alone. I
think it took a lot of time. He had mentioned this in a recent
interview that they wanted to put anew set of rules together that would get

(38:45):
passed, that would be enacted, and it's just on a trial basis for
the year. But they put somereal time and effort into doing two things,
and they are usually butting heads againstone another. More activity on kickoffs
with out an increase or reversion backto injuries on kickoffs, and by limiting
the running space in between the twosets of players. They believe they've done

(39:08):
that, they believe in an uptick, major uptick in activity and thus the
need for certain players on your roster, and we won't see some major reversion
back to when guys were getting hurton kickoffs so often, almost always concussions
and just the worst. That's whyit got to where it was, where
kickoffs were basically just put the ballat the twenty five and move on.

(39:30):
I've never been more excited to seewhat kickoffs look like in an NFL season
than I am right now, though, I really genuinely think, like you
said, they put time and effortinto this, and it shows and I
think it's going to be Actually oneof the more exciting aspects of the upcoming
NFL season. Also had the XFLshowing and what it would look like in
action. Yes, well, thatguy's having a bad year, all right.

(39:50):
We will get to our number twonext, as I mentioned, Varsity
Blues watch along ticket giveaway and ofcourse our bit stealing segment of the week
in our signature segment coming up atfour fifteen. All of that and so
much more ahead on a Wednesday editionof The A Team. You know what
is also up ahead? Well, classic Elite Chevy Sugarland. If you're heading
down fifty nine and you're coming upon Highway ninety that's ahead, or you

(40:12):
go out to the west Side wherea classic Elite Chevy Highway six is located,
both owned and operated by Jeff andTiffany Sebastian, both of them offering
you employee pricing for everyone that walksthrough their doors. I was out at
the Sugarland location yesterday taking a littlebit of a photo shoot, if you
will, with the brand new zR two truck. That thing is an
absolute beast. You can get yourhands on one, get into one and

(40:36):
see what it's all about. Igot the Duramax Diesel Edition, so it's
actually a heavy duty truck that cando all the work you need it to
do, but not guzzle gas likeyou know, other options. Whatever you
want though, they've got it.And when it comes to the bells and
whistles on that thing, it's allthere. It's got the leather interior,
the bows sound system, the amazingthirteen point eight inch diagonal screen that can

(41:01):
just display so much on it.It's just an amazing vehicle. And you
can get one, a classic EliteChevy Sugarland or classic Elite Chevy Highway six.
When you purchase a new vehicle fromeither of those locations. You're gonna
get yourself a lifetime engine guarantee,a lifetime of car washes in two years

Classic Elite Chevy Sugarland open on Sundaysfor your convenience every weekend is Classic
Elite Chevy Highway six. Show yourself what it means when they say together,
let's drive. They will show youwhat that means. When you go
to either location tell them. AdamClanton from Sports Talk seven ninety sent you
in two lifelong Houston sports guys namedAdam Talking Your Teams series. Adam Clinton

(41:49):
and Adam Wexler are da Team Aand our number two here on the A
Team Wexday C and Dan here withyou on Sports Talk seven ninety. This
time tomorrow, the Astros will beplaying baseball in games that count as the
twenty twenty four regular season will beginfor twenty eight Major League teams. Starready

(42:13):
begun for the Padres and Dodgers.Has it ever for the Dodgers. The
Astros take on the Yankees four games, then the Blue Jays for to three.
As expected, the Astros were veryclosely monitoring final roster moves forty man
and otherwise from other teams to seeif there were players that might assist them
at some point this season, andthey made a claim today on a pitcher

(42:37):
who has had a pretty good majorleague track record. I'll be brief in
Penn Murphy. I wonder how manyof you recall Murphy's work over his time
with the Seattle Mariners. He wasactually let go today a couple days ago
by the Braves, and the Astrosclaimed him in order to create a spot
on their forty man roster. Theyput to Ken Graveman on the sixty day

(43:00):
IL. Again, players that goon the sixty day are removed from the
forty man and this was not anunexpected move. Graveman obviously not going to
be able to assist the Astros thisseason, so that's where he would assuredly
be placed for the season, becausethen you have some flexibility, the opportunity
to make changes to your forty man, and they have other players they can
do that with. So even thoughthe Astros forty man roster is technically full,

(43:23):
they aren't without several moves that canvery easily be made when they want
to make a change, and Ibrought up any of you recalled Murphy's work.
The Astros and Mariners have obviously playedquite a bit over the last handful
of years. Last year thirteen times, the year before that nineteen times before
they made the change to the schedule. Last year, his season was cut
short and he ended up needing UCLsurgery. He's not likely to pitch for

(43:47):
the Astros until somewhere around the timeLuis Garcia and Lance mccullors Junior might be
back, So there might be anadditional player mid season or second or third
third of the season that the Astrosget their hands on without having to make
an additional move. Twenty twenty two, Murphy was a major league rookie and
he was thrown out of the Mariner'spen. Mentioned they played the Astros nineteen

(44:10):
times that year. He pitched againstthe Astros ten times that season to the
tune of a zero point six yfour er against the Astros. Struck out
twelve batters and fourteen innings as partof a season where he had an RA
under three last year before he washurt. The second time he was hurt,
he had a one twenty nine er, but out of space in Atlanta

(44:32):
to hang on to him, knowinghe couldn't help for months. The Astros,
i think, shrewdly said, yeah, someone who's shown nothing but success
again briefly one full season and onepartial season as a major league reliever.
We'll take a chance on a twentynine year old who will be thirty by
the time he pitches for the Astrosif that comes to be. But you

(44:53):
took a player who definitely wasn't goingto help you and open up a roster
spot for a player who very wellmight and they might not be done with
moves very similar to this, hopefullywith healthier players. But this is one
way to go find talent that youdon't have to make a a you don't
have to lose anything to go getthere was no trade and obviously there's no
major signings. Is a very easymove to make, but a smart one.

(45:15):
Yeah, And I feel like that'salways been the case during this stretch
with the Astros. How many timeshave we said, or even you've heard,
like national types say, how dothe Astros keep doing this? As
much as you dislike the other formerMariners reliever that will be pitching for the
Astros? Uh huh? The waythey acquired Rafael Montero. It's incredible how

(45:37):
easy it was because they just didn'tthink he was pitching well enough in Seattle.
And again the numbers did back itup. And then he hasn't sinse
buddy, No, he has sensethe one year. Well, he's only
been here for two. So oneof them was awesome and one of them
sucked, Yes, one of them. Half of it was awful, and
the other half was perfectly fine. For that awful overall, Well not when

(45:57):
the second half of the season isthe good one when you chase down team
in the first place. I'll giveyou that. But you got him for
what a song Joe Smith I mean, and where they is Abraham Toro.
That's how you got Joe Smith andRaffia I mean, that's how you got
the two player Kendall Graveman and Raffieal Montero. It's and the Mariners were
upset about they were in. Oneof them actually worked out for them just

(46:20):
fine. Their bullpen didn't suffer becausethey had other arms. They just wanted
to kind of push into different roles. The clubhouse saw it as a what
are you doing? He's been unrealthis year and we're in it. Finally
he's He's done things and said thingstheir GM Jerry Depoto so often that the
players on their own team talk aboutthem like their outside media, like what
are we doing? What are wedoing? Why are we making these movies?

(46:43):
Why do what's our GM? Likethis? They are, I know,
all we're trying to do was getto you know, eighty seven eighty
eight wins and things will work out. That's why the people picking the Mariners
to win the division this year?Who are these people? There's one person
that was in it, Rodriguez,Oh geez, got service, Ryan Stanek.

(47:04):
I can't remember who it was.Who's Who's Bob Nightingale worked for.
It was their panel of experts whenthey were doing predictions, and I believe
one of them picked the Mariners towin the Al West and it was that
term lightly with them, right exactly. Nightingale is definitely the most respected of

(47:27):
the least list of names. Iguess because nobody knows who that any of
the other people are. That wasthe main reason. Yes, that's one
of the reasons. And I'm notsaying Nightingale. They had six predictors,
yes, three went with the Astros, one went with the World Series champions.
Two went with the Mariners. Thosetwo that picked the Mariners, okay,
neither one of which we know whothey are, right, And each

(47:50):
of the people that did not pickthe Mariners picked the Mariners to reach the
playoffs. All six predictors have theMariners in the postseason. You agree with
that? Uh? Like, whathave they done? Six also predicted the
Astros to the postseason. Four ofsix have the Mariners in the postseason.
You know what I think that's about. I think a lot of people,
and myself is included, think thatthe Rangers just simply fell off from a

(48:12):
pitching standpoint so much. I mean, who's returning. Well, look at
it this way, regarding all threeof those teams, who has the best
pitching? The Astros? Wrong,That's not true. The Mariners have the
best pitching. No, they don'tthe best starting pitching when healthy. The
Astros, I think, have moreproven starting pitching. I think the Mariners

(48:32):
have the best starting staff in thedivision under every scenario. Well, they
had that same staff last year.No they don't. For I mean,
I guess you could say that Idid. I just said it. Well,
Kirby's probably not gonna get worse forno reason. You don't know that
that's probably going to be one ofthe best, as Valdez was gonna get
worse because that's what happened last year. Baseball is the great unknown man.

(48:54):
I don't don't agree with that.Well, I mean it's okay, it's
your baking fair points and real accurateones as well. I'm making them from
experience right here in Houston. Nobodythought Frank Farmer had a no hitter last
year, and no one thought hehad a good year. That's the crazy
part. That's baseball. See,that's where I found it amazing. I
was reading other I think it wasESPN, and they had three people write

(49:16):
one piece, you know, aparagraph each on the Astros will do this
because that and this will be Butthey are all different people writing about the
same team, so sometimes their stuffwas the same, which is stupid.
HM. But they two of themwrote about Valdez and each of them essentially
ignored the entire season. Well, this is the door's wide open. Otani's

(49:36):
no longer in the American League.Verlanders starting the year hurt, so is
Cole. I think the cy Youngis great for a proven American League starter
who's done nothing but be great anddurable for all the year. They're saying
he's gonna be awesome. They're justyet by completely ignoring what took place last
year during the season and in thepostseason. I mean, he's the real
He is the biggest reason they didn'tgo to the World Series last year's it's

(50:00):
fair to say. And his performancein the postseason prior to twenty twenty three
was the exact opposite, right,It was almost he was beat on the
year. When they won the WorldSeries, he was the starter, and
all he did was give up asolo shot to Schwarber. That's it.
That's all he gave up that wholenight against a pretty good lineup. I

(50:22):
mean, they were in the WorldSeries, after all, and it wasn't
because they just had dominant pitching upand down. Although their pitching staff was
good, Phillies were there because theyhad opportunistic hitters that hit massive home runs
and other type of hits throughout thatpostseason. He shut him down except that
one guy, that Beer League softballplayer. Except for that one guy,
and that's all he got that night. And then he left with a deficit,

(50:44):
I believe because didn't, was it? Hector Nares came on first,
then a bray? You correct, sure? Sixth inning? Okay, how
do you not remember Game six ofthe twenty twenty two World Series? Come
on? That was like two Gamesix of the World Series? That was
two games ago. Can't remember thattwo games ago? What do you mean?
Two games ago? Game six andgame seven? Oh, twenty twenty

(51:06):
two? Two games plus Honor sixtyfour, Kerry the nine, Castillo,
Kirby, Gilbert and Miller the topfour in the Mariners rotation. Yeah,
that's better than anybody in the divisionin my opinion. And what did it
get them last year? It gotthem to take place, It got them
non postseason. Great, you leapfrog the Angels and the A's to not

(51:28):
make the postseason. It sounds worsewhen you say the only teams you were
better than in the division were theAngels in the A's when going into the
final weekend all three of the otherteams had basically the same record and you
lost. They did. Let's becauseactually you won and allowed the Astros to
win the division. It's because gameIt's because of the track suits. I
know it is. I saw ithappen. I knew it was Scott's service.

(51:50):
Could you stop being such a DaveRoberts all the time? Have all
this talent, supposedly, and theyfinal ways to lose. They're making progress,
but they leveled off. That's whatI was saying about their GM.
Instead of trying to get from eightyfive ish to ninety five or one hundred,
they're like, yeah, eighty fiveish is good. Let's see what
happens. I mean, that's allthey needed to get to the World Series
in Arizona last year. That's right, that's how they're Lookingah and what did

(52:13):
Arizona do? They signed two startingpitchers on two of the best starting pitchers
on the market. Unfortunately, Rodriguezis hurt, but now they also have
Montgomery to go with Zach Gallan, who's one of the four or five best
NL starters already. See that, right, MARYL. Kelly. I don't
know that Jordan Montgomery's gonna repeat whathe did, but if he does,
he's not doing that for Texas. And he also will just be he'll be

(52:35):
good enough to just give you fivesix innings every thirty times all year if
he's ready to go. But you'reright, that's a major deletion from the
team that won. Jordan Montgomery's notpitching for the Rangers last year. It's
one of a million little bitty thingsthat if you add up, just give
one of them. The Astros waythey win that series. Fromber being horrible
did not help their cause. Ireally hope good Fromber comes back. This

(53:00):
here gf me, too old Rob. Twenty four hours, we'll know,
right, we'll have a pretty goodidea at this point. I hope there's
Steers back zero on the board forthe Yankees an hour and four minutes after
first pitch. I hope they've gotthis vaunted lineup new look, it's vaunted.
Just ask him, they'll tell youYankees fans. All right, our

(53:21):
signature segment is coming up next. It's uh, where we basically, uh,
you know, steal from the otherteams and you know, just basically
be lazy for a segment here onthe A team. We'll do that next.
Hey, no, everybody, BillWalton here, you listen to the
where is Jerry Garcia? I guessI'll settle for the A team. Some
Sports Talk seven ninety a little helpover the humped with some Wednesday BS bit

(53:51):
stealing with the bit Stealers, betterknown as I Gotta Take the sitcom a
whole bunch of it, the ATeam You Stole My mood back at it
here on the eighteen. This isthe part of the show. Each and
every day at this time we gosignature segment on you. That's Wednesdays BS,
we steal a segment and hat tipsSewan and Brian and Stan and Chris

(54:15):
and Matt and Ross, Dan andeverybody else. Doug Pike, who hosts
shows right here on Sports Talk sevenninety. We'll let you know when we
steal a bit from Doug. Hasn'thappened yet but certainly could in the future.
Instead, we'll just spin the wheeltied or some sort of ocean reference

(54:36):
or hunting. We could probably makeit happen. I hope everybody listens to
the station enough to know what thismusic means. Return of the Mac.
Yeah, but it is specific toa certain segment on the show. That
is the King of Bits, wherewe steal many from the mac Thomas program

(54:57):
and their homage to Florida by leavingthe state of Florida for non Florida stories.
Each of us will bring one tothe table and hopefully you guys will
enjoy all three. I'm happy togo first. I will tell you what
happened, and then I will askyou what you think set off the event.

(55:17):
This is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This incident occurred at
a gas station earlier this week. The fight began and as it did,
it ensued the following way. Thecustomer then punched one of the workers in
the face. The employee then chasedthe customer into the parking lot and hit

(55:43):
him several times in the head witha PVC pipe. Customer currently hospitalized.
He's not facing any charges. Theemployee is charged with aggravated assault and recklessly
endangering another person and he is inthe county jail. So gas station fight,

(56:07):
one person hospitalized. Clerk is facingcharges. What do you think began
the fight at a gas station?Convenience store? Gas station? A PVC
pipe that ended the fight is whatit sounds like. It has to be
over two people at the register tryingto get their hands on the last sample

(56:28):
of horny goat weed. No hornygoat weed. Any stories, not lottery
ticket purchase based. It's not amisuse of anything at the pump or anything
like that. The price of nicotinepouches. Nicotine pouch prices not the culprit
here either. The fight began whena customer threw a banana at the gas
station employees, who then threw itback. The customer and staff then began

(56:53):
throwing multiple bananas back and forth, and that's when things really escalate. The
first obvious question is was the bananapeeled? Most bananas within the store are
not peeled, and no one ina fight involving banana throwing would take the
time to peel the banana prior tobeing unable to throw it, because now

(57:15):
you're trying to throw a mushy, peeled banana. A banana is going to
do virtually no damage in any state. It would be rather unpleasant if it
were really rotten. Presumably it's notstill trying to be sold if it's reached
that disgusting stage. A food thatmany people really like, a fruit that

(57:35):
a lot of people lean on whenthey know I gotta have fruit, is
the most disgusting thing when it's notany longer to be eaten. It's moldy,
it's wet, it smells, it'sdisgusting. Wow, But these bananas
were probably ready to go, readyto be eaten. Doesn't sound to me

(57:58):
like you're a big timeana fan.I am. I just hey, buddy,
you know, we buy five orsix bananas whatever is in the bushel,
and I'm like, why did webuy them if I'm going to eat
four of them and you guys aregoing to eat none. I can only
eat so many bananas so quickly, and they're not gonna go bad. And
then they're sitting on the counter, and then the banana juice is sitting in
the counter where they're sitting because youlet them go forever, and then you

(58:22):
put stuff in front of them sonobody can see them. You love them
that long at your house hypothetically,Well, it doesn't sound like it's hypothetical.
It sounds like it happened, andI understand how you're upset. All
right, that's that's all for metoday. Hopefully the U fighter that's in
the hospital will be all right,Dan, you want me to go?
Do you want to go? I'llgo? Okay, all right. So
we here in Texas love a certainburger place that has colors of orange and

(58:46):
white, right, and it's theother one, and it's normally known for
late night dining right well Dateline Atlanta, Georgia, there is a particular food
establishment that originated out of the capitalcity of Georgia, and their colors are
yellow and black, and they're knownfor breakfast foods. Well. Employees in

(59:09):
the great City of Atlanta of suchestablishment are now on strike. They demand
to end their mandatory meal deduction policy, which deducts three dollars from their pay
from every shift regardless of whether theyeat or not. The Union of Southern
Service Workers is now involved, callingit quote unjust. We are calling on

(59:32):
the US Department of Labor to investigatehashtag unions for all. I bring up
the story because we've all seen thevideos now, right. I mean it's
pretty much weekly that there is someviral video of somebody to three am.
They've had a little bit and theydecidew I'm going to start something here inside
this breakfast establishment with the colors ofyellow and black. The employees usually show

(59:55):
you at said breakfast establishment they're notup for your hygiene. They will return
what you are bringing to the tablein that regard and you will not get
any hash browns, any particular nicesweet delicacies that they have of breakfast or
even a special that might be calledan all star, and in fact you

(01:00:16):
will probably get a boot to thebackside and thrown out. So my advice
to said corporation, don't mess withyour workers, man. They've already shown
you they're ready to scrap. Sovery low wage employees who depend heavily on
tips are upset that money is automaticallytaken out of their paycheck as part of
a meal reduction policy on a mealthey may or may not even be eating.

(01:00:38):
So they're okay, Yeah, itseems like a reasonable thing to fight
to bring to the attention of management. Take care of your service workers,
man. And it's also too saidplace. It's a birthday tradition of mine
every single year because the fiance isnot a huge a popular haunt for fantasy
football losers. Yes, so youtake her on your birthday because she won't

(01:01:00):
you go the rest of the year. Well, I mean I can go
whenever I want, all right forus to eat together, because I mean,
I'll bring it up and she usuallyprecedes it with a ie roll.
Of of course that's where you want. So you're saying you have to eat
at separate tables when you go Ohno, you can't eat together. No,
I mean we eat together. ButI mean I have no problems again

(01:01:22):
going sitting at the counter and orderingmy special egg scrambled with hash browns made
the way I like and up Pecansweet delicacy. Nice. All right.
Employees unhappy they get enough money outof us. Direct quote from one of
their workers. Direct quote. Donot try to pick fights with them.

(01:01:45):
It will not go well. Butyou a what does Southern California and Lego
have in common? They have aLego land. The Mariatta Police Department has
been using Lego heads to the emojisI guess I should say okay cover people's

(01:02:08):
faces in social media posts on sitessince at least early twenty twenty three,
but the altered photos went viral lastweek after the department posted a statement about
its policy, prompting several news articlesand later a request from or Lego after
the toy company asked the agency tostop adding Lego heads to cover the faces

(01:02:31):
of suspects in crimes. I canunderstand Lego's like, hey man, we're
a kid toy. Why are youputting our Lego faces on the real faces
of suspects and crimes? That arebeing committed in southern California. So the
statement from the PD, they respectfullyasked us to refrain from using their intellectual

(01:02:53):
property in our social media content, which of course we understand and we'll comply
with. We are exploring other methodsto continue publishing our content in a way
that is engaging and interesting to ourfollowers. Signed the Police Department, The
Police Department, the Marietta Police. And excuse me, why you realize they're

(01:03:14):
like us? Who the police Department? Yes, they have signature segments throughout
the week, they have mugshot Mondays, and they have wanted Wednesdays right because
they're trying to boost community engagement.Well, they're just like us us.
What good do wanted posters do ifyou can't see the face of the person
they're trying to get, because there'sin front of it. If you've seen

(01:03:34):
this smiling lego, please contact Haveyou seen this boy? Ah? There
you go? I mean, Iget it. I just the obvious question
that begs to be asked here.If it's not a minor, why are
you covering the faces? To beginwith? I don't understand why are you
protecting the criminal? Oh? Wait, because you're California. That's what you're

(01:03:57):
alledged criminal. Well, if you'reon camera doing something because they would like
to speak with them because they believethey may have evolved in something illegal,
did you guys do this? No? Okay, is this you? No?
That's not my yellow head guy. That's not my yellow head with unusable
facial features. I wonder what intellectualproperty they'll use next since legos well,

(01:04:19):
give it a second, give yourselfa second to think about it. You
know, they could use M andms, they could use skittles, you
could use drill emojis, and thenApple would have to step other companies that
have kid products that have faces thatwould be relatively easy to pull and use
as well, and then you'd getthere cease and desist letter, or you
could just use the criminal's face. They're the ones doing it. If you

(01:04:42):
don't want to, I mean, put your social media department at the PD
to work please. Lego man didn'trob that bank, but this guy did.
We're looking for the same person we'vebeen looking for for the last eight
years. He looks like this yellowlego head. Stop bailing him out too,
Just saying come on, Murrietta andother places in the country that don't

(01:05:04):
have it together. But I digress, all right. Halfway point on a
Wednesday edition of The A Team.Next, we're gonna give away tickets to
go see Varsity Blues. No,by the way, the star of the
movie is gonna be there as well. You are not going to want to
miss that chance. When we comeback. Hey is Dalen Green catch?

(01:05:25):
Shoot that fuck trimple here? Everyrocket is going on the go with the
iheartradiots. Make your point. Yougot the Home of the Rockies sports Talk
seven nineties. It's not fomo, but I don't know what the word is.
That's the equivalent of just not beingup to date on this movie.

(01:05:45):
You guys can rattle off lines likethis is like me rattling off Training Day
lines and Dan laughing, and thenyou sitting over in the corner crying because
you've only seen who Now you're madat me for only seeing it once?
Yeah, why haven't you seen TrainingDay? Like a million times? All
right? And for the guy Ican into the Matt Thomas Show and complain
about me bringing up Training Day,suck it. This movie is only twenty
six years old, I believe,So it's okay to not be ninety eight,

(01:06:09):
right ninety nine, I think rightat the beginning, I think it
was the release. It's been twentysix years since I graduated from high school.
Yes, that's why you'll have sucha good time enjoying the evening with
Jimmy v dB. Jimmy v dB, I really am. I. I
am a good chance that Kendall, who has already won tickets this week,

(01:06:30):
and Trevor who's already won tickets thisweek, and our future winners might see
you or me there. I havenever seen the quick, quicker response from
people who either knew me personally orjust were commenting on my page. I've
got to go to this. Yeah, it's fun in this event. I
mean, they will have no problemselling this out, and I think it's

(01:06:54):
actually going to be a great it'sa great idea. More actors and actresses
should do this, especially Denzel thathe doesn't no offense to James. Denzel's
at another level, so as inthere's one person at that level and everyone
behind him because he is the greatestactor of our generation. I'll fight anybody.

(01:07:14):
So in order to make it workmore to your formula, it needs
to be a cult class. Ithas to be an evening with Ava Mendez,
an evening with doctor Dre Is thatmore suited to what you're talking I
don't want to talk to the worstactor in Training Day. It doesn't have
to be a soup. The superstarwho went on to greatness and already had
greatness too big to have any evening. I got to go lower on the

(01:07:39):
you're doing trying working well. You'redoing with the cast of a great movie
that won an Academy Award. Andagain no offense to James, it's Varsity
Blues. I need you to takelike a cult classic. Let's take off
of Space now in evening with RonLivingstone, No an evening with Nina Najah.
This horrible idea he has. Theactor has a I don't know what
it is. I don't either.Why I went with Ron because he's the

(01:08:00):
main character and he was in Bandof Brothers as well. Swingers too.
I forgot about that another movie.I have not seen enough time Swingers the
movie not I meant Swingers. Also, I don't believe there's a sequel.
Why are you? Why are youwearing that shirt with all the pineapples on
it? Wex Wow took somewhere elsea dark place, didn't it did not

(01:08:25):
go to Florida State because his kneegot all wrapped up. Congratulations winner,
Florida State. But it's always FloridaState in late ninety marks Florida State's fault.
It was Billy Bob's fault. Kilmercoach Kilmer definitely assessed blame where he

(01:08:46):
thought he should be. Throw outa player who needed to have his cat
scanned. Happened he did, andthen he could play. My cat's okay,
I can play. I hate bothof you for doing this, all
right. Gosh, you know whenI watch Varsity Blues again for the first
time in forever on June twenty sixthwith James, Now, I'll watch it

(01:09:08):
before then. I gotta I getthere's a refresher that's involved here. I'll
be doing it with twenty twenty visionthanks to Berkeley Eye Center, and you
should too. As a matter offact, if you're, you know,
going into House of Blues that nightcatch up with James Vanderbeek and you're not
wanting for him to be blurry, why don't you get your eyes fixed with
Lasik from Berkeley Eye Center, especiallyright now, because when everything seems to

(01:09:31):
cost more of these days. Thespring Lasik price at Berkeley Eye Center is
not just less, it's a lotless, as in ten percent less than
their Lasik spring price last year. It's actually their lowest Lasik price they've ever
offered. And so you're getting totake advantage of the lowest price ever and
it comes with interest free financing forup to two years. You can enjoy

(01:09:51):
the upcoming spring weather without the hasslesof your glasses and contacts. And you
can also see James Vanderbeek with twentytwenty vision the lowest Lasik price ever.
Give Berkeley Center a call at sevenone three five two six eyes at seven
one three five two six E yE s. And when you do tell
them Madam Clanton from Sports Talk sevenninety cent you over or you can learn

(01:10:13):
more at their website b E CLasik dot com. That's b C Lasik
dot com. Let's go see ifwe can make this little kiddy per six
panther cologne for your radio. Sixtypercent of the time, it works every
time. Back to Adam Clinton andAdam Wexler, the A team on Sports
Talk seven ninety a couple of astrosnotes we were talking about their acquisition earlier

(01:10:39):
of Penn Murphy, and I wasglowingly speaking of his regular season work.
Nice pitching, son. What's yourname? Murphy? Murphy? Uh?
RoboCop was on the other night. You watched it. It was from twenty
fourteen, So I did the largestfilm I have ever seen in my life.
Anyway, Ruphy's regular heason work againstthe Astros brilliant. Now he was

(01:11:04):
on the mound to close out acertain sixteenth inning and then throw a shutout
seventeenth inning, and then throw agopher ball to lead off the eighteenth inning.
In the postseason, he's the onein Seattle against Jeremy Payne. How
did I forget that he was thepitcher? He was the pitcher? Oh,
I know why, because twenty fivepitchers were used by both teams in

(01:11:26):
that game. Well, in lightof the fact he was on the team,
we probably should have figured he wasout there during that game, and
in fact he was. He obviouslyhas some history with this ball club,
and now he's a member of thisball club, though recovering from major elbow
surgery, the first time likely topitch till later this year. Yeah,
the first time he's made available somebodyhas to ask him. Oh yeah,
for sure, you're right if youasked with a smile, and he'll respond

(01:11:49):
in the same way. What's hisfirst name again, Penn pen? What
were your emotions when you get upthat gopher ball? Probably not going to
be asked like that anymore. Whyyou don't think he'll show up for that?
I would if I were him.I don't think so over your emotions
as you watch that ball. Saleover the left field fans former Astros fan
favorite outfielders. We'll be throwing outthe first pitch Thursday and then Friday Miles

(01:12:12):
Straw uh no and oh no,George Springer. One of them just played
at Minute Made Park and the otherone just played at Minute Made Park last
season. I got nothing. JoshReddick is Friday Spider Man, who's there
with the Savannah Bananas the other night, yep And Michael Brantley Opening Day ceremonial
first pitch toss. Michael Brantley willbe added to the roster before the end

(01:12:38):
of the season, believe it ornot. Not. Dude, if he
is, do you have bad thingshave gone? He'd probably be ready.
I know he'd get it hit.I know he's a professional hitter after all.
Yeah, I'm I'm very like.We didn't mention one other thing about
the Astros. Chandler Roman reported thatearlier and channel will join us tomorrow,

(01:12:58):
like you said from out at theballpark, will be at street Fest.
That Parker Mashinsky pitched so well duringcamp during spring training activity he made the
team out of spring training, zerosurprise. Not based on how he pitched.
You're right, he pitched well andhe had enough. Maybe he has
it. Maybe this is his yearfrom last year. He was usable,
he didn't stay, he had amajor he had an injury that really sidelined

(01:13:21):
his opportunity to remain there or togive them more options to continue using him.
And I'd never I don't want todowntalk Bennett SUSA the way it's going
to sound, but the way hewas being talked about after being told by
a terrible team they didn't need himanymore, the Tigers, and then coming
to the Astros just after the timein the year where you have to be

(01:13:43):
on the roster to be available forthe postseason. So he threw thirty days
of really good baseball for the Astrosat the end of the year and then
was unable to be selected to bea part of the postseason, and we're
just supposed to take those thirty daysand say, oh, he's got a
spot on this team. They cancount on him. I'm like, take
it easy. I mean, hemight actually do that, but still you
need to in his position. Hehad to prove it at least a little

(01:14:03):
during spring and he's had a lotof difficulty throwing strikes. Is there anybody
that made the roster that you're surprised? No, And they haven't announced the
final roster because Greg Kessinger's situation isa little bit up in the air.
But it looks like he'll probably havehim there and that he could help them
immediately if they don't need him.Day one would be nice, or day
two. Guy better that hit homeruns on the fourth of July. Keep

(01:14:24):
an eye on them. Yeah,there weren't. I don't just don't think
there were many choices to be mademost of the roster because you had your
backup catcher, you had your firstguy as your utility player, Mauricio.
There was pretty much no way nottap Singleton on the team because you don't
have any other left handed bats otherthan Krattina. Use a switch hitter,
but you don't want to use himin that way because he's your backup catcher.
So it was really just down toa few places there. And even

(01:14:45):
though we didn't know the people andthe spots they would be in in the
bullpen, we had a pretty goodidea seth Martinez was going to make the
team. Rafael Montero was gonna makethe team. I mean, there were
very few spots that really even hotlycontest. It was nice to see what
low Brafito did before he got toMinute May Park. You had a rough
go of it the last two days, and you know, Blanco did what
he needed to do to make theteam. Black presumably did the same,

(01:15:09):
especially since he doesn't have options andthey're running out of starters. And who
knew that when Kessinger hit that Julyfourth home run, we would still be
waiting on Jeremy Pany's next one hereon March twenty seventh of the next year.
I have requested from you and Danand myself to have some predictions ready
for tomorrow's opening day show we getstarted. I know what one of them

(01:15:30):
is, and aside from that,I've prepared a handful of which will be
higher, which will there be moreof next year Astros related questions. I've
also asked you for a Major LeagueBaseball outside the box bold prediction on the
upcoming season. So all those thingswill be part of our two and a

(01:15:51):
half hour lead up to Yankees Astrosopening day here on Sports Talk seven ninety.
I've got a doozy for that, exactly part of our predictions, if
you will. All right, Solook, we've got what twenty two and
a half, twenty one and ahalf more hours something of that nature.

(01:16:14):
Okay, we're in that range. We're within a day, finally, yes
we are. This is gonna bethe slowest, slowest day ever. I've
done a good job, you know. I always do a pretty good job
when it comes to like holidays orvacations that are upcoming, to just compartmentalize,
put in the back of my mind, fill my mind in my days
with just other things to focus onuntil it's like really close, so I
don't have to sit there and belike come on for a while. Yeah.

(01:16:38):
So today, from three o'clock untilthree o'clock tomorrow, do a radio
show, do a Rockets game, drive home, go to sleep, wake
up, drive the minute May Parkopening day. It can't get much easier.
There's literally nothing else for you todo except what I just said.
We're down to the wire. Weare down to the wire, so we
are looking forward to it. Wedo have plenty on the board. They

(01:17:00):
are the defending division champions, that'sright, and they're the only champions in
the division that matter. They're lookingfor an eighth consecutive trip to the ALCS,
a fifth trip to the World Series, and a third World Series title
in the Spanish followed by eight yearthird Real World Series parade, not a
fake Mickey Mouse one. We shouldstart thinking about how we want this one

(01:17:21):
to differ from the previous two.Oh, I have an idea because I
think the first one best one,and thus the last one would be the
worst one. Even if it wasreally good, there's only only no,
no, nowhere else for it togo. Mmmm. Well, I've got
a way to make it worse thanthat. It can be worse. Instead
of the city streets of Houston,We're gonna put it on the West Loop,

(01:17:42):
Okay, where all the construction is. Yeah, let's take a look
at some of the currently closed exitramps and freeways. It's at large used
in there. You are so drunkand so stupid with your construction. That's
because people enjoy their cars, especiallythe ones from Classical Elite Chevy Sugarlanta,
Classical Elite Chevy Highway six, ChevyHighway six location open for you on and
always there for whatever it is thatyou need. Especially if you want to

(01:18:03):
select Silverado with fifteen thousand dollars off, you can do that right now at
Classic Elite Chevy sugar Land or ClassicElite Chevy Highway six. You also can
find twenty twenty four Blazers at seventyfive hundred dollars off, twenty twenty four
Tahoes at four thousand dollars off inemployee pricing for everyone. As you work
with the GM Dealer of the year, now thirteen years in a row together,

(01:18:25):
let's drive together. We're talking aboutJeff and Tiffany Sebastian, the wonderful
owners at each of the Classic Elitelocations, Classic Elite Chevy sugar Land,
Classic Elite Chevy Highway six. Whenyou make your way on out there,
you tell them Adam Wexler sent youon by two lifelong Houston sports guys named
Adam Talking Your Teams series, AdamClinton and Adam Wexler are d a team

(01:18:53):
a team? You're right if BrusselFootball's five o'clock some football, Professional footballs
in America is a special game footballat five underway Here on Sports Talk seven

(01:19:16):
to ninety, wex has shuffled offfor his journey over to the Space City
Home Network studios and anticipation of tonight'sRockets Thunder matchup. A little bit of
the luster has been taken off ofthat matchup with Shay Gildess Alexander out of
the lineup. But who cares, because we need the Rockets to win every
game they can, not only becausethey will have a better chance of getting

(01:19:40):
into the play in but also it'sfun ten game winning streak if they win
tonight. As it stands, it'sme. It's Dan Matthews, the showkiller,
getting a little football conversation in.We really haven't talked a ton and
here's the deal. There's a lotof different stories to choose from. We
could talk about the fact that ESPNis pursuing both Jason Kelsey and Bill Belichick

(01:20:02):
for different types of coverage of theirNFL, you know, football coverage throughout
the season. We could hear fromKyle Shanahan, who is impressed by the
Texans returning I guess I should sayoffensive coordinator. And we can even delve
into some of the other stuff fromthe owners meetings. We talked earlier about

(01:20:26):
the fact that that XFL style kickoffplay was approved by a nearly unanimous margin,
only three dissenting teams. But let'sface it, if we're going to
talk about NFL football, if we'regoing to talk at football at five,
we're gonna talk about the fact, for the second time in less than a
month, a former Jacksonville Jaguars employeehas been sent to prison. Yes,

(01:20:49):
Yes, that's exactly what I wantto talk about, because Dan, when
you have a month in which twoformer Jags employees have been sentenced and sent
away to a penitentiary, we gotto get that. Monday, a couple
days ago, former Jaguars employee SamuelArthur Thompson, aged fifty three, was

(01:21:14):
sentenced to more than two hundred yearsin prison. I listen, the worst
of the worst get convicted all thetime, right, Well, I guess
they used to. Now they don't. In this country. There's a bail
reform. Lets them just walk amongstus, unless they've been led into the
country illegally. But anyways, I'malways fascinated by this, and I get

(01:21:35):
it. The letter of the lawactually sometimes dictates these sentences, you know,
like take, for example, Juicewhen he got convicted in that robbery
attempt which also included kidnapping. Noone was actually kidnapped, but because someone
was held at gunpoint and told theycouldn't move, then by the letter of

(01:21:58):
the law in the state of Nevada, that was kidnapping. Part of the
reason why Oj ended up in prisonfor a crime that well probably wasn't the
one he should have been in prisonfor. But I digress. I'm always
fascinated when I see some of thesesentences. So before we even get into
the details, just know that afifty three year old man is going to
prison for two hundred years. I'mguessing he's not going to get out until

(01:22:20):
he's wheeled out on a gurney.US District Judge Brian J. Davis in
the great State of Florida is theone that handed this sentence down. You
might be asking yourself, well, what did he do to deserve this?
He is of Saint Augustine, andhe was sentenced to two hundred and twenty
years after being convicted in November ofproducing, receiving and possessing possessing let's just

(01:22:46):
say images. He shouldn't. Idon't want to go into the lurid details.
It's disgusting. People like this shouldn'tbe amongst us. People like this
shouldn't be on the earth in myopinion. But I digress, because you
don't mess with kids. But buthe was also found guilty of hacking the
jumbo tron in the Jags ever BankStadium after the team didn't renew his contract

(01:23:15):
after finding out after his employment hadbegan that he was a registered sex offender.
So he didn't he didn't divulge thatinformation. And I'm guessing Dan,
that's pretty important. Well, theother part of it as well, if
I'm believing that he probably had lewdimages on said jumbo tron. You can

(01:23:36):
actually see the jumbo tron from theroadway when you get on one of the
bridges there in Jacksonville, So you'vebeen there before. I have, Yeah,
numerous times. This was for I'massuming some sort of sec for a
Georgia, Florida, Yes, carriedand then a group that I worked for
was actually located in Jacksonville, righton the other side of said bridge that

(01:23:58):
to your left would be ever Stadium. So okay, just to review the
images are bad enough. He shouldbe like under the prison for that.
But this guy was upset because hedidn't get his contract renewed. And the
reason he didn't get it renewed isbecause when they initially hired him, he
didn't tell the jags, oh,hey, by the way, I'm a

(01:24:20):
registered sex offender, probably because hefigured if I tell them this, I
might not get this job to beginwith. So, I mean that's the
thing is most people who are likethis, they're sociopathic for a reason because
they think that everybody else is atfault it's not their fault, or even
in some warped way in their minds, they don't think they did anything wrong

(01:24:42):
per se. I mean, ifyou like, watch interviews with serial killers,
like they basically talk about it likeme, and you talk about taking
out the trash right of killing someone, especially like John Wayne Gacy, very
casual, it's chilling, beyond chilling, yes, So I mean that's part
of it as well. Why hedid it was because He's probably like,
oh, screw them. Well, either they should have known, or in

(01:25:05):
the case of this, they shouldn'tfire me. I deserve a second chance.
No, you don't, you knowhe was thinking in his mind,
well, maybe if they had vettedme properly. It's not my fault that
they didn't investigate me more. Yeah, exactly, it's their fault. He
had been hired back in twenty thirteen. That's a long time for them to
not know this. He was hiredto consult on the design and installation of

(01:25:29):
the Jaguars new JumboTron and was thengiven the job of running it on game
days. They are massive. Yeah, so a registered sex offender was running
the Jacksonville Jaguars jumbo tron. Justlet that sink in for a while.
They know they've had a good offseason. Let's call it what it is.
I mean, Yeah, anytime youget rid of a registered sex offender who
was then convicted for better than twohundred years because he has bad images on

(01:25:53):
his whatever personal devices. His contractwith the Jaguars required him to report his
conviction, but he did not.In January of twenty eighteen, the Jaguars
determined not to renew Thompson's contract afterlearning of his conviction and status as a
registered sex offender. This, accordingto the US Attorney's Office Middle District of

(01:26:15):
Florida said in a press release beforethe expiration of his contract in March of
twenty eighteen, Thompson installed remote accesssoftware on a spare server in the Jaguars
server room. Okay, let mejust stop right there. This is like
an NFL team or any any sortof big time sports organization's worst nightmare.

(01:26:38):
You've got a registered sex offender whois then installing a remote access software on
a spare server in your server room, in other words, the hub of
all of your communications. He thenremotely accessed computers that controlled the JumboTron in
the stadium during the during three twentyeighteen season NFL games, using the video

(01:27:00):
boards to repeatedly malfunction. And I'mnot going to tell you what he was
previously convicted of, because it's goingto make me too angry and make my
blood pressure rise right here on theair. Because he was convicted of doing
something with regards to this back innineteen ninety eight and was somehow allowed out
to walk amongst us. I meanone way or another the law will come

(01:27:26):
get you, and obviously it didin this case. Yeah, but the
problem is it should have kept himwhere he was originally amen back in nineteen
ninety eight he did the original conviction, or he was originally convicted in nineteen
ninety eight of again something similar towhat he got convicted this time. Well
it's okay, let's back up justa little bit. Okay, So I

(01:27:47):
mean, yes, me and you, we've all filled out paperwork for employment,
correct, And yes, by lawyou are supposed to say if you've
been convicted of a felony, youare supposed to say, yes, I've
been convicted of a felony, whichat that point you don't get the job.
Okay, regardless, basic level backgroundchecks are done on you, correct,
I would assume. So how isthat not found at least for a

(01:28:11):
company worth its salt or in thiscase, yes, self franchised. Yes,
there's a reason they play half theirgames in London. Dan, They're
just an unserious organization. I mean, like I said, and I said
it tongue in chic they're having agreat offseason. And it's not to underscore
what has been done either by himor by the other person. That went
away for stealing millions. But Imean, like, at least do like

(01:28:34):
the basic level legwork to find outwho you are hiring, Like, yes,
do people lie, one hundred percentthey do, That's why you do
the background check. And yes,a conviction no matter what on the most
basic of them. I could doa Google search on somebody and find out
if they've been convicted of a crime. It's it's true. Actually, I

(01:28:55):
mean, it's not that hard tofind out something like this. This is
the most fascinating part of the wholestory. Though. After conducting an investigation
ie vetting the employee after the fact, the Jaguars determined that the outages were
being caused by a malicious actor sendingcommands via that spare server. On December

(01:29:17):
sixteenth, twenty eighteen, the Jaguarsset up a honeypot by putting the server
on its own network and removing itsaccess to the other computers that controlled the
JumboTron. During the next NFL game, the spare server was again remotely accessed.
In other words, he was upto his old tricks and attempted to
be used to send commands to computerscontrolling the JumboTron. The Jags were able

(01:29:42):
to capture the IP address of theintruder, which the FBI then traced to
Thompson's residence. I love this.This is like, I mean, I
don't love this because the Jags arecompletely incompetent as an organization when it comes
to hiring the most basic people. The road for two so far right right,
We'll get to that. But likethe fact that this is basically an

(01:30:06):
episode of Oh gosh, what wasit called Hanson? Well, I was
gonna Hanson. I was gonna saythis, yeah, yeah, Chris Hanson
to catch a predator, to catcha predator that I was getting. E'ven
gonna go as far as SVU,Like this is something that would be like,
yeah, you know, a specialVictims Unit. Yeah, and the
crew. He was eventually arrested intwenty twenty after the Philippines deported him back

(01:30:30):
to the US because he fled thecountry illegally, following the what is it
Why can't we get people to comein and out of this country legally?
Why is that so hard here?In twenty twenty four, uh, the
FBI executed a search warrant at hishome, seized multiple computers and iPhone and
iPad that's where they found the images. And again, like you alluded to,
Dan, this is the second formerJaguars employee to be sentenced to prison

(01:30:53):
in the month of March. Imean, they're two for two here.
Earlier this month, a Meet Patel, thirty one, was sentenced to seventy
eight months in prison, followed bythree years, three years of supervised release,
and order to pay back almost twentytwo million dollars that he embezzled from
the team after pleading guilty to felonycharges of wire fraud and illegal monetary transactions.

(01:31:17):
What is the HR department at theJacksonville Jaguars Like right now? Is
the line out the door? Iwas gonna say, I think that probably
a help wanted sign us out there? Is it now a confessional? Well,
it's not only that, it's alsoand please be capable at this job.
Please don't be a felon. That'sall we ask. We're just asking
for capability at this point in termsof actually being able to find out if

(01:31:40):
indeed we do have known felons inour building. I mean, my goodness,
Jacksonville have better hiring practices or anythey're just taking guys off the Street,
Oh, registered sex offender, runour jumbo tron. We gotta be
kidding me. All right, that'sall for football at five here on the
A Team. But there are somethings we have not gotten to and we'll

(01:32:02):
get to them next. It's asegment we called in case you missed it,
and it's straight ahead. The unauthorizedHouston sports shakedown continues, because every
time you say something that's not true, you're gonna get hit. We now
return to Adam Clinton and Adam wexlerthto the A Team on Sports Talk seven
ninety. All right. That musictypically means there are some things we have

(01:32:30):
not gotten to on the show today, and we get to them in this
segment that we call in case youmissed it. I'll start because despite the
best or not so best attempts, there's been some miscommunication. All seven games
of the Astros home stand against theYankees and the Blue Jays will be heard
right here on your home for AstrosBaseball Sports Talk seven ninety. No matter

(01:32:55):
what the team or anyone else tellsyou, all seven games right here on
seven ninety. It's not that hard, okay, Dan, go ahead,
all right? So have I everexplained to you what I call Peter King
theory. Well, I could goa few ways, but I will listen
since you have not. Okay,So for you and the audience, Peter

(01:33:16):
King theory is this, Peter Kingknows a lot more about the NFL than
you do, but you know moreabout your team than Peter King does.
And the reason why I bring thisup is because I found this on cbssports
dot com and this fits the criteria. It is very much Peter King theory.
CBS Sports bold MLB predictions for theseason. What would it be for

(01:33:41):
the Astros? Their prediction was RyanPresley will be the closer by the end
of the twenty twenty four season. The reasoning talking about Josh Haterer can be
used in earlier high leverage situations facingagainst lefties. So I went ahead,
and on the merit of itself,I was like, Okay, this is

(01:34:02):
ridiculous. So I said, letme see if I can pull out my
inner Adam Wesler here and find thestats Ryan Presley lifetime against left handed hitters.
They are hitting two thirty against him, as a matter of fact,
even better to twenty three against him. So, okay, are you saying,

(01:34:27):
tell me again how this goes toPeter King, because you're saying that,
basically, this person has no ideawhat's going on with the Astros.
Yeah, so I mean Peter King, like, he'll know breaking news about
your team. He'll know some thingsabout your team. But we know more
about the Houston Texans than Peter Kingwould right, Like. So that's what
the point is, is the PeterKing theory is he can tell you more
about the rest of the league.Yeah, but the nuts and bolts you

(01:34:50):
know better than he does. Hewrote, I'll just read the pair.
It's not that long. Astros investedninety five million in Josh Hater over the
winner. Hater is one of thegame's most dominant relievers. So too is
Ryan Presley, the incumbent closer whois shifting into a setup role in Heck,

(01:35:13):
Brian A Bray, you might beHouston's best reliever. A Bray,
You's that good for this bold prediction. We're going to say Presley wrestles the
closers roll away from Hater at somepoint this summer, and by the end
of the season he's again closing games. Hater is obviously so much more than
a left on left matchup guy.But Presley in the ninth inning would free

(01:35:36):
up Hater for high leverage matchup workin the seventh and eighth innings. Okay,
so is a bray you pitching inthe sixth I guess in that scenario,
well, I mean I guess.Basically they discounted their own argument right
there. Well, okay, sothen Brian a bray you who's that good

(01:35:59):
and could be the closer? Rightaccording to the paragraph I just read by
the same guy. They got intoa mental pretzel on this, like on
the merit of it, They're like, oh, I got it, Ryan
Presley. Of course he's going tobecome the closer. And then they started
to sound it out, and theysounded it out and they really kind of
went against their own argument, whereif you just said, Brian upray you,

(01:36:20):
then okay, maybe I'm willing tolisten, but five years ninety five
million for a guy that would pitchmaybe in the seventh eighth inning, Josh
Hater's your closer. Yes, that'sit, and he will stay your closer
unless he meets you. He meetsthe Mitch Williams level of meltdown. Like
the hot take would be that RyanPresley re signs with the Astros despite Josh

(01:36:44):
Hater being here on a ninety fivemillion dollar five year deal. Okay,
that would be hot. Take yenot Presley's gonna take the mean Tania hits
twenty five home runs this year?Like, what if he does, it'd
be awesome. That's a World Seriesteam if he hits twenty five home runs
stations I'd like that. Yes.By the way, same entity has the

(01:37:06):
Astros third in their power rankings beforethe season begins, behind the Dodgers and
number two, and the Braves atnumber one. You know, the two
perennial underachievers in the National League.I mean a lot of people are very
high on the Braves, but yes, the burden of proof is very much
on They were high on them lastyear too. They were high on them

(01:37:27):
the year before, after they wonthe World Series in twenty one and good
reason to be good pitching, justa good roster top to bottom. Very
much the Astros of the National League, I would say. I mean,
I gut into my head, I'mtrusting the Braves over the Dodgers, even
with their additions. Dude, becauseit's also too you're going with the mindset.

(01:37:49):
I'm guessing that there will be anopportunity for a high leverage bullpen decision
to be made. Dave Roberts hasnot done well at those. Roberts hasn't
done well with a lot of managerialdecisions, despite having an embarrassment of riches.
When it comes to his roster talent, Yeah, you should. You

(01:38:09):
should put Albert Pools and steven SUSAJunior in the lineup late in the game.
That's for your season. That that'susually a good idea. He's an
idiot. Oh, it's their problem, not ours. All right, So
media outlets reporting that Jason Kelce therehas been a sweepstakes for his services.
Well now, Andrew Marshawn of TheAthletic is reporting that he could be heading

(01:38:31):
to ESPN's Monday Night Football. Alsosuggests that Robert Griffin the thirds spot could
be in jeopardy. I would befine with Robert Griffin the third being ousted
because he's terrible. He not onlyis he not good at what he does,
he's constantly like starting stupid fights withpeople on social media. And yes,

(01:38:53):
I realize the irony and me sayingthat, but I'm not getting paid
millions of dollars and I'm not afo'm or NFL quarterback. I just but
forget that. I honestly don't careabout the social media stuff. But he's
just I just don't think he's goodin his role as an analyst. Well
it's also though, too, becauseI mean, in fairness, like Dan

(01:39:15):
Orlovsky will be very active on socialmedia and sometimes get himself into hot water
with some of his takes. ButI think that people also say, well,
Dan puts in the work, andI'm not saying that Robert doesn't.
I'm just saying that sometimes some ofthe things that you're talking about, and
tell me if I'm wrong, you'reoff base. It's kind of a hey,
watch this, like like, letme throw this out and see how
angry people get. And yeah, that's that's the worst type of trolling that

(01:39:40):
you can do, because it's oh, I'm going to have this take,
and we see it all the timein our industry. Oh well, did
you see how many people reacted toit. That's not the point. You
sounded like you didn't know what youwere talking about, because we know that
you didn't know what you were talkingabout. Yeah, it happens a lot
with a lot of guys. Yeah, you mentioned with Dan Orvlovsky, right,
like he well, most of hisare lighthearted, though I don't see

(01:40:02):
it's about food that he knows thatpeople love. And it's like, dude,
if you're really getting that bent outof shape about his food takes,
then you It's like I told somebodythe other night that said that Twitter should
start requiring people stating a fact toshow their work. I said, this
isn't a thesis paper. Then theyresponded and I said, you're taking something
that is so unserious, way tooseriously. It's true, It's absolutely true.

(01:40:27):
I guess we're out of time, aren't we. Well, I mean
we could also quickly talk about youmentioned Bill Belichick. Now we'll get to
that next segment. I want togive that. I want to get a
little bit of a breathing room becauseit's well, it needs it, frankly.
So we'll do that when we comeback here on the A Team Sports
Talk seven ninety. Hey, it'sHunner Brown. Catch every ASHS game on

(01:40:48):
Sports Talk seven ninety before the iHeartRadioapp Home of Your Ashs. Winding Down.
A Wednesday edition of the eighteen SportsTalk seven ninety AC The Show Killer
Dan Matthews with you. We weretalking about some of the things that we

(01:41:08):
had missed and in case you missedit last segment, one of those being
the fact that Jason Kelsey is beingpursued by the powers that be in broadcasting
to get him in on, youknow, sharing his insight now that he
has retired. Another person that isn'tnecessarily retired, but is definitely being pursued
is one Darth Belichick, the formerPatriots head coach, does not want to

(01:41:32):
be on a studio show, andapparently, according to Awful Announcing, Pat
McAfee has already publicly recruited Bill Belichickto join his program as a regular guest,
which that alone would be entertaining fromthe standpoint of you've got two polar
opposites when it comes to their delivery. Not to mention, you know,

(01:41:56):
I know, maybe i'm alone whenI say this, Pat McAfee is like
probably the hottest thing in broadcast sportsbroadcasting right now, right Like there's no
show out there that is getting moresteam with each passing day. Has he
has he begun? Has he begunto have some some brushbacks and pushback a
bit, maybe, But for themost part, a lot of people,

(01:42:20):
a lot more people like Pat McAfeethan don't, and he's got the numbers
to prove it. I mean, would you rather watch you know, Pat
McAfee do his show on camera orSteven A. Smith's scream at you on
camera? I mean it's it's nothard to figure this out, but having
Bill Belichick on as only they cando. And again I get it,

(01:42:41):
it's not everybody's cup of tea.The Pat McAfee show. You can say
it's bro radio, it's bro sportstalk, what have you, but it
works. And you know, likea lot of successful podcasts or shows or
whatever, they have the ability toeither put their gear at ease so that
they do open up and say thingsthat maybe they wouldn't on other shows or

(01:43:04):
programs, but they also just havethe ability to get those types of guests
to want to come on in thefirst place, which is what brings us
to you know, Bill Belichick.I don't know what he'll end up doing,
but according to Andrew Marshan with theAthletic ESPN has been pursuing him after

(01:43:28):
he mutually parted ways with the NewEngland Patriots following last year ie he got
fired. He's seventy one and heis quote disinclined to be part of a
regular studio show, according to officialsbriefed on the talks. In other words,
he doesn't want to be on apregame panel that is littered with other

(01:43:49):
former head coaches and what have you. Is that is just vanilla and not
I don't know, Like it's funnyto me that a guy who is as
dead pan as he is and doesn'treally have a very entertaining delivery, at
least not from a traditional standpoint,is staying, Yeah, I don't really
want to be part of a panel. Man, It's probably great, but

(01:44:13):
and I brought this up like aday before it was brought out there.
ESPN could combine Peyton Manning's Omaha productionsin NFL films to secure the legendary coach
for a broadcasting role. But PatMcAfee on multiple occasions, and you may
have seen this, has made publicpitches for Belichick to be a regular guest
on his ESPN program throughout the NFLseason. That's where I would go if

(01:44:41):
I were him. You're not goingto be worried about getting the eyeballs.
I mean, is it a pregameshow? No, So by default you
know, are you maybe not goingto get the numbers or be a part
of a show that gets the numbersthat you would if you were part of
a pregame broadcast, say, forexample, CBS, you know, Texans
and Cults is starting at noon, and he's part of that studio. I

(01:45:03):
mean, twenty guys on the deskat this point. He's part of that
pregame show. So whatever Bill Belichickthinks about this matchup, you're gonna add
that to you know, the BillCower and the Boomers, Ice and everybody
else that's on it, Nate Burlson, whoever else is on there, or
Fox, same difference, you know, Howie and Jimmy and everybody that's on

(01:45:24):
that panel. But going on thePat McAfee show is really really interesting to
me because again, like I said, McAfee's got that gift plus yeah,
think about it. And this iswhat I was about to say my original
point this segment, I might belike in the minority, I forget that
Pat McAfee like was in the NFL. I don't I know he was,

(01:45:48):
you know, I know he wasin the NFL. I know he was
a Special Team's wizard all that kindof stuff. But because he's done what
he has done from the standpoint ofhis show, because he's done what he's
done from the standpoint of WWE,he has kind of separated himself from that.
Like all of these guys used tobe players, but it doesn't take

(01:46:10):
long until you're like, you don'tthink of them that way anymore, you
know what I mean? Like,I know Tony Romo is kind of in
this realm right now where all ofus it's still been recent enough that you
remember him being a quarterback in theNFL, but pretty soon, especially with
like a younger generation, if hestays there, he's just gonna be the
guy that is on with Jim Nantzor whomever. Like I don't think of

(01:46:33):
John I never thought of John Maddenthe coach. I thought of John Madden,
the guy that was next to pastsummer all on Fox doing Cowboys games
every week and talking about tru Duckan, you know, like that's that's what
this becomes. And Pat McAfee is, I think, honestly very much sooner
going to become that guy because wellit's just way more entertaining what he does

(01:46:57):
now than what he did as aspecial teamer for the Colts for all those
years. Even if there is ahighlight reel of his Shenanigan's best moments,
what have you floating around on YouTube? I can't remember where I saw it.
I think it was YouTube. It'sgreat. You just forget how like
over the top he was on thefield for a guy who really had a
minimal part of any given game. It's special. Teams just aren't as big

(01:47:23):
of a part of a game, and typically as a defense and an offense.
But I mean McAfee and Bill Belichicktogether, you just know he's gonna
get that side of Bill Belichick outof him. That just he either kept
guarded cause again you hear this allthe time. Belichick's great to talk to
away from the cameras, away fromthe formality of a press conference and a

(01:47:46):
podium and a bunch of lights andcameras and microphones and all that kind of
stuff. Trying to get him togive them something which he's not going to
and we all know it. Andit's this song and dance for twenty five
years? Crazy, how long?Crazy? How long he was there when
you think about it too, justunreal. Six times a Super Bowl champion

(01:48:10):
and now it could be him andPat McAfee or whatever he's gonna end up
doing, but he doesn't want itto be a studio show. I admire
that. I appreciate that. Solet's face it, they're boring. They
really can be boring and redundant.Yeah, do they have their moments,
sure, But I just it's sofunny because I was just watching there's a

(01:48:34):
documentary that they did on Inside theNBA from TNT. That show was Ernie
Johnson after he took over from otherI guess lesser hosts like Craig Saeger used
to be the host of that show. But back in the day it was
just highlights because he was by himself. And then Kenny Smith gets added,
and then of course Charles Barkley afterhe retired here from the Rockets, he

(01:48:56):
gets added, and it just opensup a whole new realm. And then
Shack gets added. And in thatdocumentary, they're very, very blunt,
like the head of talent or theEXE I think it's the executive VP of
Talent Relations for Turner talks about how, yeah, when Shack first got on
there, he wasn't funny. Heinsisted on saying things he thought were funny
that weren't I remember it. Infact, I stopped watching Inside the NBA

(01:49:19):
as much because of Shack for aspell there, because he was just so
bad. And I can't believe I'msaying that now because he has become so
good and such a part of thatshow that you can never imagine it without
him there. But we all sawevery version of the Inside the NBA over
the years. You remember when itwas just Kenny Smith, and then Charles

(01:49:40):
got added and then Shack and funny. We should mention it. And I'm
gonna get to this in the lastsegment, Draymond Green. I think we
need to accelerate the process of hebeing on that panel or another show,
because what he did the other nightI'll talk about in the final segment of
the show. It's like, comeon, man, And I think the
problem actually could be accelerated because theNBA is not gonna have a choice.

(01:50:02):
But as it pertains to Belichick,I would like that. I would like
to see if he becomes musty television. I mean, he'd already be musty
television as it is, especially ifhe goes to like a McAfee situation,
like you know, Aaron Rodgers. You might not like Aaron Rodgers, but
you knew he was always going tosay something crazy every week, and more
often than not, you wanted toat least see the clip of what he

(01:50:24):
said versus just tuning into the entireshow altogether. But if anybody can get
Belichick to be that guy, becomethat guy, HiT's a Pat McAfee.
So I'm all for it. Andyeah, I agree with Belichick. Keep
him away from boring panels with likefifty different people, which maybe the NBA
on or the inside in the NBAshow will become that sooner rather than later,

(01:50:45):
but I doubt it. All Right, final segment, Like I mentioned,
Draymond Green at it again, wewill discuss before we hand things off
to Rocket's pregame coverage at the topof the hour here on your home for
Rockets Basketball Sports Talk seven to ninetyon. One of the best things that
has happened here in Houston is thearrival of QC Kinetics. You hear Wex
and I talk about this all thetime. You got joint pain, your

(01:51:06):
knees are creaky, your hips, your shoulders, your back, whatever it
is. You're not able to movethe way you need to that means you're
not able. You're not able tolive life the way you want to,
and that's no way to go throughlife. Doesn't matter what your age,
and it doesn't matter how long you'vebeen dealing with this joint pain. It
could be just a few weeks ormonths, but if you've been doing it
for years, even more of areason to call seven one to three nine

(01:51:29):
one three fifty two eighty five,Because when you get a hold of QC
Kinetics at that number seven three fivenine to one three fifty two eighty five.
Seven one three nine one three fiftytwo eighty five, they're gonna give
you an alternative, the best alternativewith amazing regenerative medicine treatments that help you
avoid surgery and the drugs and downtimethat come with an operation. Lasting joint

(01:51:54):
pain relief with regenerative medicine treatments isthe way to go. And they've got
four locations to serve you, theoriginals in the Woodlands, the Heights and
sugar Land, and then they justexpanded to Cyprus with more locations right around
the corner and on the way.QC Kinetics is a game changer as they
are the nation's leader in regenerative medicine. Get rid of that joint pain and

(01:52:16):
give yourself lasting pain relief by callingQC Kinetics. Right now. It's seven
one three three fifty two eighty five. Seven one three nine three fifty two
eighty five. Back to Adam Clintonand Adam Wexler. Now here's Adam.
No, no, the other Atamon second top. No, Adam,

(01:52:38):
you take it? No, no, no, no, Adam. Wait
wait Adam, guys, guys.A final segment of a Wednesday edition of
the eight Team Sports Talk seven ninetyAdam Clinton with you wex right around the
cover or a corner with coverage easyfor me to say, from Toyota Center
where the uh Toyota Center from SpaceCity Home Network. Good lord, let

(01:53:00):
me start this segment over all, right, Adam Clanton with you and Adam
Wexler is going to be on thecoverage from Space City Home Network. As
the Rockets are not at Toyota Center, they are in OKC tonight for what
is a pretty big game. Althoughwith Shay Gilgess Alexander not in the lineup,
things are probably a little bit easierfor the Rockets should they want to
get that tenth consecutive victory. AndI say all that to say you'll hear

(01:53:25):
all the coverage right here on SportsTalk seven to ninety got the Rockets launch
pad coming up with Stan Norfleet. He'll also handle the Rockets rat postgame show.
In between. WEX has got youwith the coverage of everything on the
TV side, I've got you withthe network coverage of everything on the radio

(01:53:45):
side, and then Matt Thomas willhave the call when that thing tips off
at seven o'clock. I bring upthe NBA and the Rockets because well for
a few reasons. Obviously, asyou heard, they're gunning for their tenth
consecutive victory tonight, but they're alsolooking to get a victory so they can
keep pace with the Jones. Asif you will, you got the Lakers
and the Warriors ahead of them. The Warriors refused to lose even in double

(01:54:10):
overtime last night, Austin Reeves hittinga big bucket to beat help them beat
the Milwaukee Bucks, which is justembarrassing. I mean, the Bucks are
really good, I guess, atleast for an Eastern Conference team. The
Lakers are not. Do they havetalent? Yeah, but they you know,
it's just I can't believe that's howthat went down last night. And

(01:54:31):
then, of course Jimmy Butler didnot play for the Heat, so the
Warriors had an easier time against themin getting that win last night. So
you know where the Rockets are rightnow. They put themselves in this position
by only being a game over fivehundred this late in the year. But
should the Warriors have Draymond Green movingforward at all? I say this because

(01:54:58):
he was at it again the othernight. He I can't even remember who
the player was. The footage ispretty grainy, but Draymond Green wraps his
left arm around another player, pullshim down by the head, then throws
his hands up like what, AndI just it brings me back to who

(01:55:20):
is the big man? You're anurkic right in Phoenix that he had the
spasm of his arm hit him upsidethe head. It was Patty Mills last
night that got the Patty Mills that'sright, I got the headlock. Just
how this guy is still in theNBA. Remember he got an indefinite suspension

(01:55:45):
and had to go to like angermanagement counseling and like make a statement of
apology and all this kind of stuffthat Draymond Green had to do, and
that's what he does in like thehandful of games after he gets back,
and this guy's been doing it foryears and getting away with it and getting
away with it and getting away withit. Oh he was suspended for that

(01:56:06):
game of the finals. We can'tbelieve. Yeah, he should have been
because this is what he does.He looks to hurt the opposition every single
time out. So that's why Itweeted last night I saw this video.
I said, look, no onewill ever miss him, so just get
on with the indefinite suspension before somebodyloses an eye or gets their neck broken,

(01:56:26):
because no amount of counseling or angermanagement is going to fix a goon
who is ultimately out to hurt otherplayers. It's ridiculous at this point,
and it is as somebody, ofcourse comes out with, what did you
think about Bill Ambier? I thoughtthe same thing, genius, just because
the NBA is a lot softer thesedays, and what constitutes a flagrant one
to two or three foul is differentthan it was back in the eighties when

(01:56:50):
Bill Lambier and Kevin McHale were closeliningpeople. Doesn't mean that this stuff should
fly like I always love the completelyunrelated and doesn't prove a point. What
about ism? I get what aboutissm sometimes, but like, okay,
Bill Ambier, who last played whatin the early nineties, What does that

(01:57:12):
have to do with right now? What does that have to do with the
fact that Draymond Green this season recentlywas suspended indefinitely for this kind of crap
and made to go to all thesecounseling and all that, and here he
is doing the same stuff again,Like Patty Mills is like, Wow,
I'm glad I got to bring myhead back with me to the locker room
after the game. I just Idon't know. I haven't even seen if

(01:57:36):
this has been like a talking pointamong NBA circles, but it should be.
I'm just I don't understand how thisguy's still allowed to play. And
the thing is, I was talkingabout this last segment. He's great on
the mic. Let's go ahead andget him there. Warriors aren't gonna win
anything anyways, Draymond Green's not goingto get better at this point. Let's

(01:58:00):
just go ahead and accelerate the processof the demise of the Warriors non dynasty
I know Wex disagrees with me onthat. Just just go ahead and get
Draymond Green off the court and intothe booth. We'll all like them a
lot better there, and then peoplecan go back to not being Warriors fans
like they weren't for the majority oftheir lives. Yeah, they can wear

(01:58:23):
Lakers jerseys like they used to beforethey became Warriors fans. We make sure
you keep the tag on the jerseythough, so you can return it back
to the sporting good store. Andwhen you show up to the arena wearing
like a Klay Thompson jersey, oreven when it was the Threetles or the
Heatles whatever they called themselves, ifyou were wearing a Chris Boss jersey,
you know that you went to thestore and they were out of Dwayne Wade
and Lebron jerseys. Yes, yes, the most annoying thing on the planet.

(01:58:48):
And then on top of it too, oh you're a Heat fan.
Where are you from Houston? Thenyou're not a Heat fan. Yeah.
By the way, he should havewon four titles. Come on, man,
well, I mean you had ChrisBosh crying on the red carpet after
they lost to Dallas, so thatwas one of them. That series was

(01:59:11):
incredible. How they lost that series, I'll never and everybody says it's revenge
for Dwayne Wade in two thousand andsix. Yeah, maybe Spurs should have
won that first. They should havewon both of those, and they obviously
won the second one, but theyshould have won the ray Allen three Jesus
Shuttlesworth has a disagreement for you.He does not agree with somebody we know
is good friends with him. Justask him. And with that, it

(01:59:38):
is time for us to conclude thisaward winning edition of the A Team.
