Friends from the Los Angeles comedy scene discuss the Beatles, an album at a time. We have no reason to, nor any special qualifications. We just want to because we're obsessed with the band, like any rational human. TOPICS INCLUDE: Reasons we love them! Stories we've read! Opinions we hold! Excitement we cannot contain! THE BEATLES!
The panel reviews and discusses last year's hit Beatle book John & Paul: A Love Story in Songs, by Ian Leslie. We loved this book.
For those who haven't read it, it's a "biography of a relationship" - telling the story of John and Paul's partnership through their songs. Each chapter is named after a song which means even the table of contents tells a story.
For the casual fan, this book is a pretty thorough summary of all the ma...
This weekend (March 27 and 28, 2026), Sir Paul McCartney and his band did an "intimate" concert for just 1000 people in Los Angeles, at the Fonda Theater. 3/4 of the panel was there, so we did this episode to discuss it! Will, Joel and Brett share their memories, while Katie is he...
Today (March 26, 2026), Paul McCartney announced that he finished a new album that will come out in May, called The Boys of Dungeon Lane. He also released the first single, which is called "Days We Left Behind."
We listen to it and talk about! And we also talk about what it felt like to hear Paul was releasing another album.
Also, some of the panel won tickets to the McCartney concert happening in LA tomorrow (March 27) and so... w...
We cover the new Paul McCartney documentary MAN ON THE RUN, out on Amazon Prime, which covers the Wings part of Paul's post Beatles era. Among other things, we hear Paul's motivations behind founding Wings, the emotional struggles after the end of the Beatles, thoughts about John's angry statements about Paul, his marriage to and relationship with Linda, musical decisions of many of his best known songs, his reaction to John's dea...
The panel goes over the newest episode of the Beatles Anthology - Episode 9! Released last November (2025), this episode shows interviews of Paul George and Ringo at the time they were filming the Anthology in the mid-90s. We see their thoughts and feelings about looking back on the Beatles. We also get extended looks at the recording the John Lennon Demos "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love." We get a surprisingly happy George, Ringo ...
The panel goes over the recent documentary ONE TO ONE: JOHN & YOKO. This is a look at John's only real solo concert, which he did at Madison Square Garden in 1972 to benefit a children's hospital. The doc also takes a lot of the news issues of the day which were influencing John and his struggles with immigration at the time.
We're amazed at realizing how intense the nightly news was at this time, and it gave us new perspective on...
The panel goes very deep on Anthology 4, the "new" volume of rare tracks released as a sequel to the 1994 documentary / music release Beatles Anthology.
I put "new" in quotes since many of these tracks were included on the re-mixes of Revolver, White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road.
It's a fun listen. We spend a lot of time going track by track to give our thoughts on it.

The panel lists the songs they feel strong personal connections to. What songs do YOU feel the strongest connection to? Why has "Mr. Moonlight" become a treasured personal memory for the podcast?

The panel watches the 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour. Originally a television special for the BBC on Boxing Day (day after Christmas, Americans) it is now seen as the Beatles third movie. A largely improvised film led by Paul, the film is seen as.... a mixed bag! A lot of the sequences are kinda, how do I put this, boring? But we also have a great music video for I Am The Walrus and some comedy(ish) sequences that are fun!

The panel goes over Paul's 2005 solo album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. This was a big change of pace for Paul. He teamed up with Radiohead's producer Nigel Godrich and produced a series of mostly quiet, introspective and beautiful songs. The most famous track from this album is probably "Jenny Wren" but every one is interesting!

We go over the 1974 John Lennon album Walls and Bridges! This was John's 4th solo album, and the final one he recorded before going on a nearly 5 year hiatus from recording. It's got the hits "#9 Dream" and "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" but of course has a lot of great songs besides. The panel gets into it!

What would you put on your Beatles best-of if you couldn't use any of their hits? That's the challenge the panel does in this episode.
We each complied a "deep cut" Beatles best-of. These were our rules:

Our tribute episode to Brian Wilson, the leader of the Beach Boys, who died on June 11, 2025.

Let It Be came out in May 1970. In honor of its anniversary we look at Paul McCartney's version (basically) -- Let It Be... Naked. This is a version of the Let It Be album with much of producer Phil Spector's production removed. There's a different sequence of song...

The panel takes a look at George Harrison's 1973 album Living In The Material World. Our reason is that a re-release came out last year (2024) and we've been meaning to examine it. But also we are sometimes big dummies who haven't given things a proper listen and i...

The panel goes over Look Up, the 21st studio album from Ringo Starr. Largely written and produced by T-Bone Burnett, this album features a bit more of a country flavor, though still unmistakably Ringo, maybe because he's one of the most famous people on the plane...

The panel guesses at what the next Beatles album might have been if they hadn't broken up. This is a common pasttime for Beatles fans, and is one of the most commonly suggested topics for an episode! Well, we try it!
We decided that the album could be 48 minutes ...
