Speaker 1 (00:00):
Kellen ash Welcome on the phone, coach be Up Coaches
Coach Chad Holbrook, good to hear for the morning.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Hey guys, thanks so much for calling in and so
exciting to hear from you.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
Once a year you host a big party for a
huge purpose, and I know this has a particular impact
for you and your family which inspired you to start this,
But now it's growing and growing and growing.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
We love music, and obviously my son was diagnosed with
cancer and pediatric cancer in two thousand and four when
he was two years old, and we try to help
people in that fight. I don't think there's many things
more unfair than having to tell a kid that they
have cancer. And so we've kind of put our foundation
and our love of music to work and trying to
mifit and help those kids and help the facility to
(00:41):
treat those kids.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
So this year, the Win Anyway Foundation working with some
other charitable organizations that have a light kind fight against
pediatric cancers.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Pediatric cancer is the causes close to our heart, as
is breast cancer. My wife Jennifer was diagnosed with breast
cancer this past year. I lost my mom to cole
and ca answer and some folks that are helping us
put on this event have lost some similar close loved
ones from this this terrible disease. Yeah, we're gonna host
an event. We love music, and we've got an exciting
band coming in and we think the tickets are going
(01:13):
to sell out. But time the sun goes down and
I know the whole community of Columbia will get behind us,
and I know that the whole state will get behind us,
and we couldn't be more excited about it.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Coach, I mean, you know, don't keep us in waiting here.
You know this. I would go buy tickets just based
on your word because you've brought in some great shows.
You've had Old Dominion. You have brought so many great
concerts to the Columbia area. You might as well just
become a concert promoter at this point.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
I love that lot of work for sure. I love music,
and yeah, we did host Old Dominion in Columbia. We
host events still. We love those guys as well, and
we're getting ready to host an up and coming band
that was just nominated for CMA Vocal Group of the
Year and oh and they got a huge, huge following
and they're behind us in this fight as well. And
that excites me even more that they're coming here because
(02:02):
they heard about our fight and what we're what's near
and dear to our heart, and they want to participate
as well, and that that even fires me up even more.
And we also love Camp Cole and a lot of
these proceeds that we raised from this concert are going
to go to Camp Cole because they allow sick kids
to go have that summer camp experience and that's a
place that's just near and deer jin in my heart
(02:23):
as well.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Coach, I'm chopping to the bed. I'm looking for a
signal from third base here, brother, what's the band.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
We're gonna host? The Red Clay Straits. The Strays have
a huge, huge following. They're platinum hit. Wondering Why is
going viral on TikTok and going viral on Instagram and
they just played in Greenville, South Carolina. Is who has
sold out crowd and everywhere they go they sell out.
We can't wait to bring the Red Clay Trais to
Columbia and see the township all sold out. And I
hope you music lovers will get behind this event. It's
(02:50):
going to be one great night.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Well if people don't know the Red claytras you introduced
them to me, I don't know, six eight months ago,
and country, little bit of rock in their feels. It
sometimes maybe it's just because you've got the pompadoor that
they're doing an Elvis thing at certain points. I mean,
they are just fantastic. Grammy nominated. This band is going
to be massive. It's so cool that you can get
(03:13):
them in here before the actually start selling out, like
Madison Square Garden.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
That's kind of what we think as well. They do
have a little southern rock, a little country. One of
the best live shows I've ever been to, if not
the best. And you know one other thing they do
is they bring their faith to their show as well,
and they'll play three or four gospel songs that'll bring
the house down as well. I make this comment with
the first time I saw them, I've never seen a
band turn a beer drinking audience into a congregation in
(03:40):
about three or four notes. They have a way of
making you put your beard down and raise your hands
up and give thanks to the Lord as well. So
we could not be more juiced to host the Red Claystrade.
And they are as excited about this event and this
calls as we are and that makes it fun for us.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
As well when you start talking about the Win Anyway
Foundation and your group is going to do not only
just for your initiatives, but also, as you mentioned, sharing
it with Camp coal and other cancer charitable opportunities for
persons to be able to fund. Here's a way to
help impact the lives of South Carolinians who desperately need help.
(04:15):
And the amount of moneies that you've been able to
raise for research and other opportunities to see that answer
prayer come to fruition for so many families.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
We're going to utilize this event to help give back
to so many of people in those fights. And we
obviously Camp Cole provides a really really unique resource for
the youth of the Midlands and youth of our state
and even older folks that are fighting cancer as well.
And you just love Camp Cole, So we couldn't be
more excited to bring the Red Clay Strays to Columbia.
(04:44):
Tickets are going to go quick and get them on
ticket Master links. You can also reach out and see
meet DM on my Instagram page or Twitter page to
have interest in being a sponsor, or, come into the
VIP event and those are going to go really really
quick as well.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
You haven't lived in Columbia for many years now, but
you still do a lot in this community and we
certainly appreciate that. And for people who've never been to
one of your events, it's not just a concert. I
would highly encourage people to get those I guess their
VIP passes or whatever it is for the earlier part
of the evening because that turns out to be a
blast as well.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
We're gonna have a little bit of a meet and
greet with the strays as well, and a Q and
A and people can be able to take pictures with
the band and you know, food and drinks, and it's
going to be a night that we know we're giving back.
It's going to be a celebratory night of music and
also some faith involved, and it's going to be a
moving night that means the world that we're going to
be able to get a lot of people behind us,
(05:41):
to get the calls that are important to us and
celebrate the incredible talents of these folks. And they're great
people and they want to be here for this cause
as well, or they wouldn't have come.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
The date again is February.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
February seven, Friday night, Super Bowl weekend. Everybody being a
festive mood and I couldn't think of a better night
to come out and enjoy yourself. They go on Stale November.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
First, November first.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Thanks for all you do, coach, Go Koogs. I know
you got a big baseball season coming up soon. It
never ends with you, guys, but thank you for making
time for us here in Columbia.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Thanks so much for calling in and y'all support to
our callses and to our shows mean the world to
me as well. And this might be one of our
all time great ones here and thanks so much for
reaching out to US.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
