ישבנו עם עמיחי דנינו כדי להבין כיצד השתנתה תפיסת הביטחון של ישראל ולאן כדאי ללכת מכאן. במהלך סדרת תפיסת הביטחון חקרנו את תפיסת הביטחון של ישראל והצבענו על ליקויים בה. בפרק הזה ניסינו להבין איך תיראה התאמה של תפיסת הביטחון למציאות החדשה. לשם כך אירחנו את עמיחי דנינו שכתב יחד עם אל"ם (מיל') עינת גפנר־גולדשטיין את המאמר "מהכלה לעיצוב מרחבי – הצעה לחשיבה מחודשת על עיקרון מרכזי בתפיסת הביטחון הלאומי". במאמר דנינו וגפנר־גולדשטיין מניחים תשתית להבנת ההיסטוריה של תפיסת הביטחון הישראלית החורגת מההיבט הצבאי ומציעה מבט הכולל אספקטים חברתיים, תרבותיים וכלכליים. לדעתם תפיסת הביטחון הישראלית ידעה שלוש תקופות: הכרעה, הסדרה והכלה. לכל תקופה היה היגיון מסדר משלה, וכעת אנחנו עומדים בפני תקופה רביעית לאור קריסת תפיסת ההכלה - תקופה שדנינו וגפנר־גולדשטיין קוראים לה "עיצוב מרחבי". כל זאת ועוד בפרק ובמאמר.
