Fire Up Downtown sets another record!
More than 17,000 people packed the streets of Muncie this year — up from 14,000 last year and 11,000 the year before. The festival continues to grow, bringing a boost to downtown merchants, vendors, and the local economy.
Event Director Cheryl Crowder joined 765 Business Journal to share the behind-the-scenes of this year’s success, from hot air balloons glowing over the skyline, to live local bands, to the return of Downtown Idol. She also teases what might be in store for next year’s 5th anniversary celebration.
765 Business Journal airs live Mondays, 9–9:30 a.m. on WMUN, sponsored by IU Health, Town of Yorktown, MCS, Ivy Tech, Minnetrista, and the YMCA of Muncie.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
