Welcome back to the 80s, hair was teased, the internet wasn’t a thing, and phones had cords and were mounted to the wall. Join us as two old men and a GenZ review our favorite horrible cheesy movies from the decade that brought you breakdancing and Max Headroom and New Coke!
As we file this cast under 'H' for toy we celebrate the '80s classic that is Val Kilmer's stardom vehicle - Real Genius. I do wish the world worked this way and that I was as smart as Lazlo. However, the reality is not so much, so we must live through the gang and take it as it comes! Kayla's Cheese rating = 5 Kidnap Countdown = 0 '80s Style Kidnappings!
The triumphant return of '80s Cheese Movie Review is upon us with the release of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure! La enjoyed this one and can you believe it she thought it held up well. We also tackled the tons of emails awaiting us from back in October to just before the cast was recorded! We love you guys and are happy to be back!

It's a wild ride this week for the 1989 classic 'Say Anything' with La and all three of her backup dancers. Yep, that's right guys we've got John Cusak and Uncle Beef. La is in overload mode.
Kayla's Cheese rating = 1 (of course B/C Cusak) Kidnap Countdown = .5 '80s Style Kidnappings! (B/C Jake)
Behold for we have made a thing! That thing is a cast and that cast is somewhat about the 1987 smash hit Innerspace! As it turns out it doesn't age as great as Uncle Beef remembered. Join us as La wonders at how malls used to look and we get a lesson in Gen Z speak. Also, be forewarned, Beef being here means there is a lot of cussing involved - plus we learn Beef has much hate for Freddie Mercury.

Finally, we come to a movie Sean wasn't looking forward to. In fact, he hates this movie and always has. Even the director's cut where Audrey II takes over the world didn't save the 1986 entry 'Little Shop of Horrors' for him. La was also unimpressed but she's 13 and isn't impressed with most things. Jake tried to salvage some of the presentation for us but little could be done to sway La in the end.

We break out into one of the biggest cult-following movies of the John Hughes epics in the form of Weird Science. Even La had to admit this one was pretty good!
Kayla's Cheese rating = 2 Kidnap Countdown = 3 '80s Style Kidnappings!
Your '80s movie crew takes on 1988's live-action/animated classic 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' this week on the show. We even stay on topic for a few minutes until as usually happens we tend to drift a smidgeon. In any event, it was awesome and La actually liked this one!
Kayla's Cheese rating = 2 Kidnap Countdown = 2 '80s Style Kidnappings!
Its 1986 and there is Big Trouble in Little China, also Raiden was there for some reason. Look I'm not gonna lie. Uncle Beef stopped by for this cast and every time La and Uncle Beef are together on a mic bad things happen. I'm not sure why but the two of them seem to be of the same mind. Anyway let me apologize in advance they both cuss up a storm. We couldn't stop them.

This time out your '80s Cheese crew takes on 1985's 'The Last Dragon' This is neither a classic nor a good movie but we took it on anyway. Join La and her backup dancers as we find out what was going on in Harlem in the 1980s - sort of. Hey, it could be worse, but not much.
Kayla's Cheese rating = 8.5 Kidnap Countdown = 4 '80s Style Kidnappings!
You knew it was coming if you've been following the arc, the 1988 JCVD classic 'Bloodsport' is upon us this time on 80's Cheese Movie Review and man did La see this one coming. I laughed most of the way through as La tore it a new one.
Kayla's Cheese rating = 8. Kidnap Countdown = 0.25 '80s Style Kidnappings!
I tried, I did, but this week got away from me and somehow we got on the topic of TV remotes and Bob Ross. There was some chatting about The Karate Kid in there I swear... just not a ton of it and not all together.
Kayla's Cheese rating = 3. Kidnap Countdown = 0 '80s Style Kidnappings!
This week we break down this beloved 1986 'Flight of the Navigator' goodness with Kayla's favorite Uncle - Beef. We are also schooled on "Hot Jeff" which we didn't know was a thing.
Kayla's Cheese rating = 4. Kidnap Countdown = 2-3 '80s Style Kidnappings!
This time on our walk through the cheese that is the '80s we venture into the 1986 robotic goodness of Short Circuit! Sean laments a perfectly good Firebird being 'disassembled' and his love for the Chevy Astrovan, Jake wonders at how much they spent on effects and La thinks this is basically a live-action Wally. Kayla's Cheese rating = 4. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = 3 '80s Style Kidnappings!
We continue the '80s John Cusack and Steve Holland madness with the 1986 offering of 'One Crazy Summer' this time on the cheese. Yep, it's Nantucket's finest yacht race, girls who are just plain trouble, and a Teddy Bear that La spotted right away. Throw in a little teenage shoe shaming and a new top 40's B '80s song that's on La's mind and you've got a show! Kayla's Cheese rating = 1. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = No '8...
This time out we cover the cult '80s offering of Better Off Dead. That's right imaginary perfect women, burgers that pull, and unrelenting paper boys and all this 1985 gem is probably La's favorite movie we've watched thus far!
Kayla's Cheese rating = 1. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = No '80s Style Kidnappings!
Join our gang as we mostly stay on topic for close to an entire hour before we run off the rails while we review the 1988 Classic Die Hard. Yes that most '80s of '80s action movie that would forever change the way Christmas time film is judged by. La has a lot to say about this one but just be glad you aren't stuck in the tower with her - she will leave you. Kayla's Cheese rating = 5. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = 30 '80...
We go back and take a look at 1984's Gremlins this week! Sean had never seen the movie before, La loves Gizmo and Jake wishes this one stayed in his memory as some things just don't hold up as well as you think. Kayla's Cheese rating = 3. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = No '80s Style Kidnappings!
In what is going to work out to be our very late Christmas arc we start off with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation! Honestly, what Sean started off with is Kayla yelling at Chevy Chase the entire movie and not really getting what was going on. However, the bright spot for La wound up being little Leonard. La's Cheese rating = 9. GoFundMe For Shannon Kidnap Countdown = 1 '80s Style Kidnapping
We revisit Doc and Marty with the 1989 classic smash hit 'Back To The Future Part II'. That's right, it's flying cars and Biff's world this time out on that cast and La is totally digging it! Join us for the last Cheesy 80's Movie Review cast of 2022! Kayla Cheese rating = 1. Kidnap Countdown = No '80s Style Kidnapping
First off, I have no right to party with the Crystal Method here but it was just too cool to salute The Crystal Method who was in turn saluting The Dark Crystal. Just saying, the narration was pretty sweet here despite what Jake may tell you. Oh yeah ya'll, its the Dark Crystal and all that that implies, and I am here for it! Kayla's Cheese Rating = 9. Kidnap Countdown = 1 '80s Style Kidnapping
