Na maanden van afwezigheid – vanwege een heleboel verschillende redenen, zoals je kunt horen in de podcast – zijn we weer terug. We trappen 2025 nú pas af met een bespreking van「HOTEL IRIS」van de uiterst vlijtige schrijver Yōko Ogawa (1962). In deze vlotte vertaling van meestervertaler Luk Van Haute maken we kennis met een verboden liefde. De jonge Mari raakt verslaafd aan de opwinding die een trotse maar onsuccesvolle (en nogal kinky) oudere vertaler haar bezorgd.
Niet vaak hebben we voor hetere vuren dan die van Mari gestaan. Maar sleurde het ons mee de SM-afgrond in? Je hoort het hier. 😏
