In this Abounding Love episode, I cover eight (8) tools we need to cast out evil spirits. For example, we need to not be ignorant of their devices, schemes or plots so they don't take advantage of us [2 Corinthians 2:11]. So first, we need to know our enemy in order to cast them out. Know that our enemy has been defeated; therefore, we have the authority to cast out a defeated foe. We need to know he's also a liar and the father of lies, who seeks to steal, kill and destroy the testimony of Christians through his falsehoods [John 8:44; 10:10]. His goal is to hinder our effectiveness for Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12:10, Paul outlines the gifts we are given to further the Kingdom of God. One listed is the "discerning of spirits," which is the ability to know what Satan and his demons are up to. This is the first tool presented for dealing with evil spirits. Remember, demons plot for your thoughts and feelings. After casting down imaginations, they must be replaced by truth [2 Corinthians 10:3-6].
