According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1.19 million people die annually in traffic crashes. Between 20 and 50 million more suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability. According to the WHO, drivers using mobile phones are roughly four times more likely to be involved in an accident.
While numerous risk factors exist regarding global roadway crashes, what can we in the automotive and mobility industries do to reduce these alarming numbers? How can we make a difference through the latest technologies?
This question has been at the heart of Seeing Machines since its humble origins in 2000, from a robotics lab at the Australian National University to a world-leading innovator of DMS solutions underpinned by human factors science.
Paul McGlone, CEO of Seeing Machines, joins Carl Anthony for this episode of AutoVision News Radio. Paul shares how the company began its work in the mining vertical, branching into fleet, aviation, and other automotive applications. He also expands on the power of human factors science and why the company's mission to get everyone home safe will never change.
