Building Bridges

Building Bridges

Building bridges by connecting people in community. This podcast is from Church of the Master United Methodist in Westerville, OH, which borders Otterbein University. The host, Rev. Lucy Kelly, is the Associate Pastor and Director of Campus Ministries at Church of the Master UM. We wanted to offer time and space for people to talk about their experiences in our community. We will feature sermons, pastoral conversations, interviews with Otterbein staff, students, and alumni, as well as people from Church of the Master and our wider community. We want to consider ways can we offer support for one another, listen to our neighbors, and understand our interconnectedness.

Jay Anderson offers some history on the United Methodist Church's exclusion of LGBTQ+ persons; as well as where/how the denomination is moving toward being open, affirming, and inclusive to all persons.

Lucy Kelly preach about Jesus' teachings and how Jesus' call to love God and love neighbor are primary. Jesus never offered words of judgement or hate or exclusion, neither should we.
