One basic lexical definition of loyalty is faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader, cause, etc. In the world system, loyalty means much to people, corporate institutions, and relationships of diverse kinds. The stakes, however, become much higher when loyalty is examined under the lens of discipleship in the Kingdom of Jehovah God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible puts it straight. It clearly states that the virtue of loyalty is the principal qualification for every minister; "…it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful" [See 1 Corinthians 4:2]. This teaching lays the ground work for an in-depth elaboration in the next episode.
