Ah, to be an outlaw in the wild west. Got nothing but a crew to back you up. Like really nothing. As one my favorite criminals Neil McCauley once said, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner." They were living this life. These guys slept outside and had like one outfit. No wonder they were desperate for some cash. Crazy that capitalism was what got them all in the end. I'm pretty sure that's the main point of both of these films, "The Assassinations of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (written and directed by Andrew Dominik) as well as James' Mangolds remake of the 1957 classic, "3:10 to Yuma". And Heat too (not Heat 2) for that matter.
Joining the conversation this week are Daniel King (@dkingbooksla), author of "An Eye for Killing" and "Table Scraps" as well as Quinn Shields (@quinnshields) of The Fools Journey Podcast (@thefoolsjourneypod).
